Jackson Steele walks out to a podium set up on a little raised platform, the cameras trained on him. He clears his throat and shuffles some papers around in front of him.
Jackson Steele: Good evening. I want to thank you all for being here.
He flashes that patented Jackson Steele smile at the throng of reporters.
Jackson Steele: AWF has just wrapped up Beach Blast, one of our most successful Pay-Per-Views yet. Not content to rest on our laurels, we're always looking forward to the next big thing. Those that have paid attention long enough may know exactly what we have on the horizon...
Steele turns to a screen beside him on the podium. An image of the current AWF Prestige Champion, Raiden Ishimori, fades into view.
Jackson Steele: The AWF Prestige Championship is one of the most sought-after belts in all of professional wrestling. There are countless people out there who would chomp at the chance to put their name on that title. They'd join the long lineage of people who have held the top gold in AWF, including myself.
Steele flashes a grin.
Jackson Steele: Legends like Bobby Barratt... Hyperion... and modern day legends in the making like Seth Dillinger, Chris Card, and the current holder, Raiden Ishimori. But here at AWF, we want to be the company that provides opportunities. If you want something bad enough, we want to give you the chance to reach out, and grab it. That's why... on September 21st, 2019... live from the incredible Echostage Nightclub in our nation's capital, Washington DC, AWF will be holding its next Supershow...
Steele turns to the screen beside him.
Jackson Steele: AWF Fired Up! will return. And along with it, due to popular fan response last year, we'll be bringing back the Wildfire Tournament! The rules are simple... at the start of the event, we will hold a lottery to determine randomized tag teams. We'll then have a tag team tournament. The winning team will then face each other, and the winner will go on to be the new AWF Prestige Champion! This tournament is open to EVERYONE -- and I do mean everyone. Whether you're Anonymous, a Riot Star, Ultimate, or anything in between, every star on the XHF Network will be able to enter this tournament and get a shot at winning AWF's most prestigious belt. All you have to do... is show up.
Jackson Steele grins.
Jackson Steele: Now, last year, the champion got to sit back easy and watch the whole tournament, then go head to head against the tournament winner. While that was fine and good, we feel like as a champion... you just shouldn't have things so nice and cushy. That's why this year, the champion WILL ENTER THE TOURNAMENT as well! If the champion's team is eliminated before the ending... well, tough. Guess we'd have a new champion then, huh?
Jackson Steele looks down at his sheet of paper.
Jackson Steele: Ah yes, one last thing. To preview the types of crazy tag teams you may wind up seeing at Fired Up!, the next few Prestiges will feature Fired Up! Preview Matches. A chance to see how strange bedfellows do in the ring with each other, if you will. And that all starts with Prestige 37, live from Durham, North Carolina on August 10th.
Jackson Steele looks back to the screen, where the card for Prestige 37 pops up.
