[The audience is buzzing and the stage is set for WarGames. Two rings are pressed together , surrounded by a fifteen-foot high steel cage.]
JT: Its been an absolutely wild night here at Kyle Field, but we aint finished yet. The big one, War Games, is about to be decided. Five men from the Mid-South and five from the North-East will step into that cage to fight for the supremacy of their region and the very prestigous Rick Owen Cup. Now, in case you dont know the rules of War Games
AF: Tell your daddy to put you to bed, because youre probably up too late.
JT: --well start out with one representative from each team inside the cage. After 5 minutes, the other wrestlers will start entering at 2 minute intervals. Once all 10 wrestlers are inside, the Match Beyond begins, and the match can be won... but ONLY by getting a member of the other team to submit. This is a brutal match that shortens careers and makes legends.
AF: Ive got my popcorn ready.
[Ring announcer Chester Arthur stands in front of the cage, unable to hide his excitement.]
CA: Ladies and gentlemen, wrestling fans around the world, this is the moment youve all been waiting for! Mid-South vs. North-East in a War Games match for the Rick Owen Cup! There is no time limit. This is your main event of the evening!
[Big pop! Kill the Night by Hot Water Music starts playing, and the North-East team emerges from behind the curtains. First out is Troy Poole, wearing his belt proudly around his waist. Following him is the House of Pain, Legacy wearing his recently won UCW heavyweight belt around his waist, and then a pumped up Terry Masters. Bringing up the rear is Jay Williams, who gets easily the biggest pop of the bunch.
CA: Introducing first! The Living Classic Terry Masters, Jay Williams, Kota, Legacy, and the SWAT North-East Heavyweight Champion, The Great One Troy Poole! They are... TEAM NORTH-EAST!
AF: Like I said before, I like this North-East team. All five of these guys are established veterans who arent going to be intimidated by that cage.
JT: Theyre certainly no joke. I wonder if North-East feels like the little brother that wants to show hes just as good as his big bro?
[Land of Confusion by Disturbed kicks in over the loudspeaker, heralding the Mid-South team. The new Mid-South champion Frostbite enters with his belt slung over his shoulder. He is followed by an intense Brock Sisson and the Alley Cats, both of whom are obviously very excited to be in the main event. Jason Birmingham dawdles behind, taking time to sign autographs and flirt with girls in the front row.]
CA: And their opponents! Jason Birmingham, Brock Sisson, Alleycats 1 & 2, and the Mid-South Heavyweight Champion, The Cold-Hearted Bastard Frostbite. They are TEAM MID-SOUTH!
JT: This team is a bit younger and less experienced than their opponents, but you have two guys in Jason Birmingham and Brock Sisson who could be the future of this business, and the new champion Frostbite.
AF: And then you have two useless poofters in the Alley Cats.
JT: Hey, they showed a lot of skill in their match earlier tonight. Everyone here won a match just a few hours ago to get here... which means that theyre all coming into this fight with battle scars.
[The two team captains, Troy Poole and Frostbite, go out to meet with the referee for the coin flip. The ref flips the coin and points to Poole.]
CA: The winner of the coin flip is Team North-East!
JT: That means that the North-East guys will enter before the Mid-South wrestlers, giving them a distinct advantage.
[Poole gloats as he returns to his team. Theres a lot of discussion among the North-East side among who will start, and after a while Jay Williams just volunteers, stepping up into the cage.]
JT: So Jay Williams is going to take the difficult starter role for the North-East. He had a tough fight with Calvin St. James earlier on, but lets see if he can keep his roll going.
[For the Mid-South theres no debate... Brock Sisson shoves his teammates aside and barrels into the ring.]
AF: Somebodys hungry for blood!
JT: Its going to be Jay Williams vs. Brock Sisson one on one for five minutes. Theres no pinfalls or submissions right now the only goal is to soften up your opponent for the Match Beyond.
[The bell rings, and immediately Brock Sisson shoots out, tackling Jay Williams to the ground. Straddling him, Sisson throws punches in a flurry, more than a few of them finding the face of Williams.]
JT: Sisson attacking viciously right out of the gates. Hes in control now, but he needs to save his energy, as hell be in that cage for upwards of twenty minutes. At minimum.
[Sisson pulls Jay Williams up by the hair and nails him with a short-armed clothesline. Williams wobbles, but doesnt go down. Instead, he comes back with a few hard shots to the chin of Brock Sisson. Jay Williams rears back and connects with a headbutt to the chin of the former inmate. Both wrestlers stagger from the collision.]
JT: Both of these two are going tooth and nail right out of the gate. Jay Williams had to get ugly to get the advantage over Brock Sisson, but when he has to that boy knows how to fight.
[Williams whips Sisson into the ropes. Brock comes back on the rebound with a full-speed clothesline, but Jay ducks it. On the second rebound, Williams catches his opponent and twists his momentum into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.]
JT: Williams used Sissons momentum against him, and thats what he has to do if he wants to keep up with someone that vicious and still have something left for his other four opponents.
AF: Hes not going to put Brock Sisson away with those sissy lucha moves.
[Sisson quickly gets up to his feet, and Williams goes behind him to grab onto a hammerlock. As Sisson tries to twist out of it, Jay Williams shifts around to always be right behind his opponent. Brock manages to escape the hammerlock through sheer strength, but Jay just switches to a rear waistlock. He powers Sisson up into the air and then slams him down to the mat.]
JT: Amateur style slam by Williams, and now hes got Sissons back. So far Williams has done a good job of slowing down the pace of this match, to his advantage.
AF: More like a good job of boring us to death.
[Williams spins around and applies a grounded front chancery. Using his 250 pounds of muscle Brock Sisson pushes his way up, struggling to get out of the hold. Williams instead scoots underneath Sisson and transitions it into a sleeper hold.]
AF: Whats he doing this for? Theres no submissions yet.
JT: Well yeah, but not only will this sleeper take a lot out of Brock, if it works well enough Jay Williams will be standing above an unconscious Brock Sisson, and thats always a worthwhile advantage.
[The former inmate, however, is having one of that. Sisson powers himself up and rams Williams right into the cage wall! Theres a surprised look on the North-East stars face, at least until he flops forward like a pancake down to the mat.]
AF: Now thats how you wear down your opponent!
[Sisson instinctively goes to pin Williams, but he cant, so instead he just powers him up and transitions into a powerslam. The crowd seems torn, with fans of both regions in attendance, but as were in Texas the cheers for the Mid-South slightly win out. In other words, the sound of Williams body impacting the canvas is greeted with more cheers than boos.]
JT: Powerslam! No flash, all impact.
[As Williams lays on the ground Sisson starts laying into him with boots to the side, treating him like a beaten dog. When Williams tries to get to his feet, Sisson closes the distance in a flash and applies a sleeper hold, his arm squeezing around the throat of Jay Williams.]
JT: Now Brock Sissons got a sleeperhold of his own applied. Sort of an anything you can do, I can do better type of thing.
AF: This isnt HORSE! Beat him up!
[Williams managed to get his arm in the lock and is slowly prying it open, although escaping from Sissons vice-like grip is no small feat. When Jay finally pops his head out, an unimpressed Brock congratulates him with a hard right hand.]
AF: Thats the kind of no-nonsense brawling that makes you the husband, not the wife in prison.
JT: Andrew, there are children watching!
AF: Look at this! Sisson has Jay up on his shoulders, and hes going to toss him square into the other ring.
[With Williams in position Sisson takes the barrier between the two rings at a run. As he does so, Williams drops down behind him and plants the unsuspecting Aussie with a full nelson slam.]
JT: Brilliant reversal by Jay Williams! And now hes showing off his power.
[Williams scoops Brock Sisson up for a reverse brainbuster, but holds him there for several seconds, letting all the blood rush to Brock Sissons head. Finally, he comes down with a vicious impact to the back of Brocks head.]
JT: Both of these guys have a lot more strength than their weight would suggest, and theyve been showing it off here tonight.
AF: Sisson got right back up to his feet. Shows that theres not much to hurt in that head of his.
JT: Watch it or Ill tell him you said that.
[With a snarl, Sisson lunges at Williams, and the two meet up in a chest of strength. The crowd is practically salivating as the two mighty warriors strain to press each other back. At this time a countdown appears on the jumbotron, signaling the entrance of the next wrestler.]
5... 4...
JT: Five minutes are almost up, and in a few more seconds another North-East wrestler will enter the cage.
3... 2...
AF: But how are we going to find out whos stronger now?
1... BUZZ!
[The buzzer rings, and The Living Classic Terry Masters steps into the cage. Brock Sisson is too focused on the test of strength to notice, and allows Masters to chop block him. With Williams still pressing on him, Sisson goes tumbling over Masters body and onto his back.]
JT: Terry Masters jumps Brock Sisson from behind!
AF: Hey, if its good enough for the kids that beat you up in school, its good enough for Team North-East.
[Williams looks a little dismayed at Masters choice of tactics, but doesnt stop fighting. He scoops Sisson up and hits a sidewalk slam. The Australian has barely hit the canvas before Terry Masters follows up by dropping an elbow into his sternum. Masters scoops Sisson up and takes him over with a German suplex.]
AF: German suplex, all impact no bridge! Sissons going to be telling his chiropractor about that one.
JT: Brock Sisson cannot deal with the numbers advantage here. With two people attacking him at once, he has no time to recover between moves. This is going to be something that the Mid-South faces throughout this match.
[Sisson rolls to his feet shakily, holding out his arms in a defensive stance. He manages to land a hook on the chin of both his opponents, but shortly after that Williams shoots in and goes for a leglock. Sisson twists out of it and scoops Jay up in brainbuster position.]
JT: Brock Sisson trying to get payback from that brainbuster Williams hit on him earlier... but Terry Masters is right behind him and counters with a Russian legsweep
[Jay Williams steps over and applies the leglock he was trying for earlier. Masters also slaps on a kneebar, twisting away at the limb of his opponent. With both of his legs caught in dangerous submission holds, Brock Sisson cries out in pain.]
AF: Break his legs!
JT: I thought you liked Sisson.
AF: Im impartial, remember?
JT: Right. Well, these two holds are not only painful, they could seriously affect Brock Sissons leg strength and as a result his mobility and power base. Not to mention it would make submissions on that leg easier later.
AF: Plus it keeps him immobile now.
[Just as Brocks situation seems hopeless, the countdown appears on the bigscreen again.]
5... 4... 3... 2... 1... BUZZ!
[AlleyCat #1 charges in through the door. Williams gets up to intercept him, but #1 dropkicks him and rushes past him. Masters is still holding onto his leg lock. Or rather, he was until Alley Cat #1 kicked him in the back with a surprising amount of force. As Masters gets his wits about him, #1 helps his teammate Sisson up, to a big pop.]
JT: Alley Cat #1, the former Shameless Edward, is the second man for the Mid-South team. And he comes in like a house of fire.
[Williams and Masters also regroup on the other side of the ring, and then collectively rush at the Mid-South duo. Williams collides with Sisson again, the two of them trading shots, while Masters shoots in and tries to take down Alley Cat #1. The tag specialist is able to grab onto the ropes to hold himself up, and Masters transitions into a standing leglock. Williams whips Sisson into the opposite corner and comes charging in with a clothesline, but Brock greets him with a big boot to the face.]
AF: Jay Williams eats leather! That almost took his head off.. . and I say almost with disappointment.
JT: Now it looks like Sisson is going to ram Williams head into the cage! The last thing Jay Williams needs in this grueling match is a bleeding head wound.
[Sisson grabs the hair of Jay Williams and moves to drive it into the fence, but Terry Masters comes up behind him. The Living Classic grabs onto Sisson from behind and tries to pull him back, but Alley Cat #1 comes off the ropes with a flying tackle to the back of Masters. This thrusts everyone forward, and Jay Williams right into the steel. The crowd oohs in sympathy.]
JT: Jay Williams has tasted metal! It doesnt look like he was busted open though...
AF: Awww...
[Alley Cat #1 monkey flips Terry Williams over his head and right into the arms of Brock Sisson, who slams him right down into the mat. The two men then break off again with what seem to be their picked opponents. Alley Cat #1 steps over Masters and pulls him into a chinlock, grinding away at the stamina of the veteran. Meanwhile, Sisson drags Williams up and drives an elbow into the bridge of his nose.]
JT: Sisson going for an enzuigiri... but Williams ducks! Sisson is off balance, and gets caught in a spinebuster.
[Williams mounts Sisson and starts throwing down shots at his head. Alley Cat #1 keeps grinding away at his chinlock, while Masters holds his head close to #1s chest to avoid taking much of the pressure. As this persists, the countdown appears on the screen.]
5... 4... 3...
AF: North-East is about to get the advantage again!
2... 1... BUZZ!
[Legacy grins and steps into the cage. He sees Alley Cat #1 doing some damage with his hold and connects with a RLS superkick! Alley Cat #1 collapses backwards like hes been shot.]
AF: RLS! Big payday for Legacy, but he cant finish right now.
JT: Legacy is the only one in this match who hasnt had to wrestle earlier tonight, given that Sasso & Christiansen werent able to make it to their qualifier. Although he may have been involved in some, er, extracurriculars tonight.
AF: Scurrilous rumours!
JT: In any case, he has a big advantage.
[Legacy tells Jay Williams to get off Brock Sisson, and his teammate shrugs and obliges. Legacy drives a double axehandle down into the neck of Sisson. Sisson responds by throwing a shot to the stomach, grinning at his opponents pain. Brock battles up to his feet and the two are throwing wild shots at each other, to the roar of the crowd.]
JT: These two had a run-in backstage and now theyre going right after each other in the ring!
[Meanwhile, Jay Williams and Terry Masters toss Alley Cat #1 into the second ring, and go to double team him. Williams delivers a pendulum backbreaker, draping #1 over his leg. Terry Masters drops a leg right across the exposed throat of Alley Cat #1. Legacy smashes Brock Sissons head into the ringpost and begins choking him out against the ropes.]
AF: Williams & Masters making use of their numbers advantage while Legacy makes use of the no DQ element of this match. Its a wonderful world.
[Jay Williams takes up the Alley Cat in a bow and arrow hold, stretching out his back before releasing the hold and dumping him unceremoniously to the mat. Legacy goes to whip Sisson across the ring, but the Australian counters by rebounding right on Legacy with a short-arm clothesline. He then starts choking Legacy on the ropes. In the other ring, Terry Masters picks up where his partner left off by twisting the Cat into a Boston crab.
Team Mid-South watches all this anxiously, hoping to get in. Legacy fights back with a thumb to the eye of Brock Sisson, then rakes his fingernails down his face. The House of Pain member dumps Sisson on his head with a release German suplex. Afterward he just stands in the ring, looking triumphant and mouthing off to the crowd.]
JT: Legacy seems to have gained a momentary advantage over Brock Sisson, but he shouldnt get too cocky. The next Mid-South wrestler will be in shortly.
[Williams grabs onto Terry Masters hands and pulls back, adding extra pressure to the Boston crab. Alley Cat #1 squirms and cries out in pain, but cant do anything. Except, that is, wait for the timer to run down.]
5... 4... 3... 2... 1... BUZZ!
JT: Alley Cat #2! The former Heavenly Henry storms in the ring, looking to help his partner.
[Ignoring Legacy and Sisson outright, Alleycat #2 runs to the second ring and scales the buckles. Jay Williams and Terry Masters turn to greet the newcomer, but not fast enough, as Alley Cat #2 jumps off the top buckle with a crossbody that catches both North-East stars!]
JT: Huge crossbody! The crowd loves the Alley Cats high-flying offense.
AF: Bah! Theyre a flash in the pan.
[Legacy tries to apply a spinning toe hold to Brock Sisson, but the former inmate wiggles out of it. Sisson rolls to his feet and cracks an oncoming Legacy with a hard right hand. Legacy just grins and fights back with a vicious hook. This seems to startle Sisson, so Legacy throws another, but this time Sisson intercepts with an axehandle smash to his opponents hand. On the other side of the ring, both Alley Cats scoop Jay Williams up onto their shoulders.]
JT: What are they going for here... oh! The Alley Cats just forcibly tossed Jay Williams into the other ring, and right into the back of Legacy. Now theyre turning their undivided attention to a suddenly very lonely Terry Masters.
[The Living Classic tries to crawl away, but he has nowhere to go. Acting as one unit, both Alley Cats scoop up their target and whip him into the ropes. As Masters careens back at them, out of control of his own motion, the Cats drop him with a double shoulderblock. They then drag Masters up and then drive him down with a double flapjack. BIG POP!]
JT: The Alley Cats make all these fancy double-teams look easy.
AF: They are easy. I mean, its just the two guys doing the same thing. How hard is that?
JT: But such synchronicity...
AF: Synchronicity is for the Olympics. This is War Games!
[Brock Sisson currently has a boot on the head of his original opponent Jay Williams, stopping him from rising. This is just so that he can continue to trade shots with Legacy undisturbed. But when Legacy connects with a hard spin kick to the side, it forces Sisson to backpedal, and Williams is able to get up. When Sisson tries to advance, Williams picks him up in a bearhug and spins around, allowling Legacy to get a head of steam and then deliver a stiff lariat to the back of Sissons head.]
JT: Brutal northern lariat! Brock Sisson had better check for head trauma after that.
AF: Thats not the worse his head is going to go through.
[With Sisson still in his grasp, Williams drives him facefirst into the steel cage, payback for earlier. With interest, it turns out, as Sisson is cut open, a small trickle of blood oozing out of a cut in his head.]
JT: Blood! Now this is getting interesting!
5... 4... 3...
[Oblivious to the ominous timer, Alley Cat #2 drives his forearm into the underside of Masters jaw. Alley Cat #1 applauds joyfully and connects with a bicycle kick that drops Terry.]
2... 1... BUZZ!
[Neither Troy Poole nor Kota look anxious to get into the ring, and theres a brief staredown between them. But eventually Poole relents and climbs up the steps.]
JT: The North-East champion is now entering the ring, and itll be interesting to see how the normally refined Poole handles himself in such a chaotic environment.
[Troy Poole immediately takes charge, telling Legacy and Jay Williams to hold the bleeding Brock Sisson in place. Both lift Sisson up, holding one arm each. Poole takes his time to measure a shot before lashing out with a vicious spin kick to the ribs.]
AF: Absolutely brutal kick by the champion! I think I heard a few ribs snap.
JT: Now Poole has to deal with the Alley Cats situation.
[The North-East heavyweight champion sneers at the Cats as he strides over to deal with him. Jay Williams follows him, leaving Brock Sisson in Legacys hands hands that are presently battering and bloodying Sissons face. The Cats collide with Poole and Williams as soon as they step into the second ring. Soon Williams and Alley Cat #2 are trading shots, while Poole and #1 are locked up tightly.
Poole bodily tosses Alley Cat #1 into the corner and connects with a chop to his chest. #2 sweeps Williams legs out from under him and then springs forward into a double stomp right to the chest. Alley Cat #2 then goes to help out his partner, but Terry Masters is back up and intercepts him, hitting a gutbuster on his opponent.]
JT: Theres the numbers game for you. Poole with another harsh chop in the corner, but Alley Cat #1 fights back with a chop of his own. Hes a master of that move, you know.
[Poole sidesteps the next chop and applies an armringer to #1. Troy is content to pull back on the hold and demand that the Alley Cat give up. Williams and Masters are all but mugging Alley Cat #2, holding him in the corner and delivering blow after blow. Legacy bodyslams Brock Sisson onto his arm, and then climbs up to the middle turnbuckle to connect with a diving legdrop. The crowd begins to boo, and the jeers get louder as this situation goes on.]
AF: What are these fans complaining about? The North-East would be idiots not to use this numerical advantage theyve been handed. This is just how this match works.
JT: I cant really disagree with you, I guess. But the Mid-South will rise again.
[Fulton groans. Inside the cage, Brock Sisson has already got a crimson half-mask, and Legacy is looking to improve on it by raking his face against the fence. The counter appears again just as Troy Poole hits a double-arm facebuster on Alley Cat #1.]
5... 4... 3... 2... 1... BUZZ!
JT: Whos going to be next for the Mid-South?
[Frostbite points at the open cage door and orders Jason Birmingham to go inside. Jason shoots him a dirty look, but goes into the cage anyway, jumping into action right away by clocking Legacy with an European uppercut. He then dropkicks Legacy right back in the grasp of Brock Sisson, who drills the North-East member with a side suplex.]
AF: Jason Birmingham is in, and this is a guy who knows how to get down to business. Even if he is kind of metrosexual for my taste.
JT: Birmingham may get the highest-pitched pops Ive heard this side of a John Cena entrance.
[Birmingham springs onto the second rope and hits a springboard hurracanrana on Terry Masters. Jay Williams turns around and rushes at the newcomer. Williams quickly takes his back and applies a full nelson, but Jason drops down and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Alley Cat #2 grabs onto Williams, but Birmingham waves him off. #2 shrugs and walks across the ring to catch an unsuspecting Troy Poole with a big right.]
JT: Jason Birmingham wants to fight these two guys by himself? Well, its his funeral...
[Brock Sisson backs Legacy up into a corner and throws gut-munching knees into his midsection. He picks up the UCW World Champion and delivers an inverted atomic drop that has the male part of the audience crossing their legs. Meanwhile, both Alley Cats are attacking Troy Poole. Alley Cat #1 scoops the champion up and spins him around in an airplane psin, then drops a dizzied Poole on the waiting knees of Alley Cat #2.
Jason Birmingham is doing a decent job of fighting off both Terry Masters and Jay Williams, benefiting from both men's obvious fatigue, but its a losing battle. Birmingham delivers a STO backbreaker to Masters, but Williams surges over the body of his teammate to deliver an enzuigiri to Jason.]
JT: The action here is getting hard to call... Williams climbs to the top rope while Masters powers up Birmingham... assisted top rope powerbomb! That shook Birminghams lights! Jay Williams usually uses that move when teaming with Eric Hererra, but in this situation hes willing to improvise.
[Williams & Masters hit a double snap suplex, then both hit elbow drops on Jason Birmingham. Despite this punishment, the Mid-South star rises to his feet, connecting with two arcing hooks that catch his opponents in a beautifully symmetrical moment. He then drills Williams and Masters into the mat with a double DDT.]
AF: If you thought this was getting heavy before... were about to get a four hundred pound addition to the mix.
5... 4... 3...
[The Alley Cats are still battering Troy Poole against the fence. Brock Sisson is sucking wind, and Legacy doesnt look fresh either, but theyre still going at each other tooth and nail.]
2... 1... BUZZ!
JT: Only one man left for the North-East, and thats the mammoth Kota, coming off a controversial win earlier against Paul Soutter. If the North-East takes this one, Kota could claim three wins in one night.
AF: Thats an interesting statistic. But whats more interesting? A huge dude is about to beat up some Mid-South guys.
[Kota immediately comes to the aid of his partner Legacy, delivering a chop to the back of Brock Sissons neck. Sisson has barely turned around by the time hes scooped up and slammed down to the mat. Legacy backs away into the corner to take a breather. In the other ring, Jason Birmingham tries to climb up to the top, but Jay Williams pulls him off. Terry Wililams punches Birmingham in the liver and DDTs him into the mat.]
JT: Kota and Legacy are working together, and are leaving the six men in the other ring to their own devices. Weirdly, we seem to have three double-team situations going on here...
[Alley Cat #1 balances Troy Poole up on his shoulders while #2 comes off the top turnbuckle, pulling Poole down to a harsh impact of neck against shoulder. Alley Cat #2 sprints across the ring and bulldogs an unsuspecting Terry Masters. Birmingham shouts at him to mind his own business. Across the ring, Troy Poole shoots a knee into the groin of Alley Cat #1. The Cat dances around holding his crotch. A grim-faced Poole sends him head over heels with a lariat.]
AF: Man, Jason Birmingham is not a team player. He needs to realize that he cant take on two guys at once.
[Kota delivers a vicious headbutt that staggers Brock Sisson. Legacy is behind him to follow up with an inverted DDT. Brock Sisson is by this point leaving bloody smears over the canvas. Still, the Australian struggles to his feet. Kota effortlessly hits a superkick to his opponents jaw. Sisson then stumbles into a flip piledriver by Legacy that has the crowd oohing in spite of themselves!]
JT: Isolated Incident! Brock Sisson has been in here since the beginning, and he is badly hurt.
[Frostbite, the only man left to enter, yells at his teammates inside the cage. Troy Poole picks up Alley Cat #1 and swings him around until his boots clock Alley Cat #2. Poole then slams #1 down onto #2. Williams and Masters scoop Birmingham up for a double suplex, but instead slam him onto the knees of Troy Poole.]
AF: Triple-team on Jason Birmingham! The prettyboy has bit off more than he can chew.
JT: Things are not looking good for the North-East team here.
[Kota tosses Brock Sisson like a javelin into the cage wall, which shakes with the impact. Troy Poole drags up Jason Birmingham only to drill him with a swinging neckbreaker. Jay Williams and Terry Masters go to engage the Alley Cats again, and the four men meet in a storm of punches.]
5... 4... 3... 2...
AF: Frostbite is going to step in the cage, and then the Match Beyond! Im psyched!
1... BUZZ!
[The crowd pops as the newly crowned Mid-South Heavyweight Champion goes to enter the cage, still wearing his title belt. The referee instructs him to leave the belt outside, and the two argue as the battle continues inside the cage.]
JT: Our beleaguered referee is doing his best to keep out foreign objects. Frostbite should probably just give it up and get in there.
[Eventually Frostbite comes around to this, leaving his belt with Chester Arthur. He warns the ring announcer that if theres so much of a scratch on the title hell be sued for all hes worth. Frostbite steps into the cage and immediately corks Legacy with a big right hand. Kota rushes at him, but Frostbite sidesteps the giant and tries to lift him up.]
AF: No way can Frostbite lift up the 400-pound Kota. I mean, I like him, but people have limits.
[Realizing that submissions now count, Troy Poole turns over Jason Biringham and puts him in a Boston crab, but the Hamilton Cup winner refuses to quit. The Alley Cats drop Jay Williams with a double clothesline, and apply a wishbone hold, but Terry Masters kicks them both in the back of the head to break it up.
Frostbite is still struggling with Kota. Finally, he succeeds by sweeping Kotas tree trunk-like legs out from under him, and hauling him up by hitting a German suplex into the cage wall! When Kota staggers out, Frostbite connects with a superkick.]
JT: Armed and Dangerous! That put the big man on queer street.
AF: Can you say that nowadays?
[Legacy gets up and approaches Frostbite, but Brock Sisson is back up too! Fury in his eyes, Sisson wheels Legacy around and starts savagely biting at his forehead! Legacy shrieks and pulls away, now cut open just like Brock Sisson.]
JT: Sisson is getting his revenge! Look at that brutal fighting style. He learned that at Yalta.
[Frostbite confidently strides into the second ring. Alley Cat #2 rushes him, but Frostbite just scoops him up into a jumping DDT. The new champ then kicks Alley Cat #1 in the stomach, doubling him over, and powerbombs him into the cage wall. Theres one enemy left. Frostbite grabs Troy Poole and spins him around by the shoulder. HUGE POP!]
JT: Its champion versus champion! The leaders of the North-East and the Mid-South are about to go head to head.
[Poole throws a right hand, but Frostbite counters with a right of his own. Poole bruises Frostbite with a kick to the midsection and then scoops him up on his shoulders, possibly looking for The Greatest, but Frostbite escapes from behind and plants the North-East champ on his neck with a German suplex. Frostbite then scoops him for the Snowstorm, but Poole struggles, and is able to get back to his feet.
Everyone else seems to be watching this clash of champions, their battle momentarily at a halt. And then Jason Birmingham drives an elbow into the back of Jay Williams neck, and pandemonium erupts once more.]
JT: There are ten men in here, and all of them are at each others throats. This is War Games!
[Alley Cat #2 springboards over the top rope into the next ring and onto the back of Kota. The former Heavenly Henry tries to choke out the giant, as the big islander backpedals to ram him into the cage. Brock Sisson and Legacy are still slugging it out. Theyve abandoned wrestling and even defending themselves, content to take turns hitting the other in the jaw. Terry Masters hits the northern lights suplex he calls the Classic-plex on Alley Cat #1. Jay Williams shoots Jason Birmingham into the ropes, and goes for a backdrop on the return, but Birmingham leapfrogs over Williams shoulders and hits an elevated dropkick to the head of Troy Poole!]
AF: Nice agility out of Birmingham. That kid hasnt got anything stopping him from being a star.
JT: Williams nails Jason Birmingham with a fallaway slam, helping his partner recover. Williams and Poole now have Birmingham up... they set him on the top rope... it looks like theyre going for a team superplex now... no!
[As the two North-East stars climb up to the middle turnbuckle, Alley Cat #1 scoots in behind them, and grabs onto both their legs. He tries to suplex them both off, but doesnt quite have the strength. Then Terry Masters comes in behind #1 and German suplexes him, taking the other three men down with him!]
THAT WAS AWESOME! THAT WAS AWESOME!
THAT WAS AWESOME! THAT WAS AWESOME!
JT: FIVE MAN SUPERPLEX!
AF: This is like the night of German suplexes!
JT: Half the match is now reeling on the floor...
[Terry Masters seems to have suffered little more than a little muscle strain, and gets to his feet. The Living Classic admires the carnage before him. This slight pause allows Forstbite the time to kick him in the gut and deliver a front brainbuster.]
JT: Snowstorm! Everyones going for broke!
ONE! TWO! THREE!
AF: Well, that doesnt mean anything in the context of the match, but its got to make Brock happy.
[ Sisson takes the unmoving Legacy and pulls him into a grapevine ankle lock.]
JT: Ankle lock by Brock Sisson! Will Legacy submit?
AF: Hes screaming like a little girl!
[Seeing his partner in danger, Kota slams Alley Cat #2, still on his back, into the cage once more time to shake him off. The House of Pain member then grabs #2 and tosses him high up in the air, almost to the top of the cage, where the Alley Cat tumbles down all the way to the mat! HOLY SHIT POP! Kota strides across the ring to peel Sisson off Legacy.]
JT: DID YOU SEE THAT?! Alley Cat #2 must have fallen ten feet or more there.
AF: I am now terrified of Kota, and think we should call the hospital and get #2 out of here right now.
JT: Hey, whats Packer doing here?
AF: Hes obviously here to offer moral support to his clients at a critical moment.
[Indeed, Reginald P. Packer is now at cageside, yelling encouragement to the House of Pain. In the other ring, Jason Birmingham is still out from being on the business end of that massive superplex, but Troy Poole, Jay Williams and Alley Cat #1 are all getting to their feet. On the other side of the ring, Frostbite is kicking away at a prone Terry Masters. Poole catches Alley Cat #1 in the side with a spin kick, then scoops him up on his shoulders. #1 struggles off, grabbing the ropes, but Jay Williams grabs that arm and drags Alley Cat #1 onto his back to hit a vicious tower hacker bomb!]
JT: Tower hacker bomb! Put Alley Cat #1 on a stretcher!
AF: Troy Poole doesnt seem happy about that too. Jay Williams just stole his thunder!
[Troy Poole shouts at Williams and points a finger in his face. Williams shrugs and goes over to help Terry Masters, but Poole spins him around and clocks him across the face! An angry Williams punches Poole in the gut, and it is on.]
JT: Team North-East is fighting amongst themselves! They need to concentrate on winning this match.
[Frostbite slams Terry Masters neck down into the top rope, and then hits a reverse neckbreaker. Then he straddles the fallen Masters and puts him in a modified camel clutch.]
AF: Wind Chill Factor, followed by the High Pressure System! Thats it, right there!
[Legacy is slowly beginning to get to his feet, wiping the blood off his face. Packer slyly passes him his trademark axe handle through the cage fence. The referee comes over to give him hell for it, but the damage is done. Legacy shakily gets up and smashes the axehandle down on the head of Brock Sisson. Kota then takes the handle and starts driving it into the eye of Sisson!]
JT: Sisson might have to choose between this match and his eyeball!
AF: Masters and Sisson are both in danger of being submitted... Williams and Poole are too busy fighting each other to do anything about it... everyone else is down... whos gonna tap out first?
[Williams holds his hand out, pain obviously across his face, his body trembling...
...but Brock Sisson taps out first!]
JT: Brock Sisson taps out! Team North-East wins!
[The bell rings, to a mixed reaction from the crowd, and Kill the Night plays again. Poole and Williams pay the end of the match no heed, still fighting, until the rest of the team pulls them apart. Brock Sisson leaves the cage first, stumbling out while talking to the cameras.]
CA: Ladies and gentlemen, your winners of the 2009 Rick Owen Cup... TEAM NORTH-EAST!
BS: Fuck Mid-South. Im not losing my eye for them!
AF: A valid perspective.
JT: There were obviously divisions in the North-Est, and Im sure well see those in future months, but tonight they had the advantage and were able to put it away.
AF: They dont seem too happy about it, though.
[Poole and Williams snarl at each other, held back by Terry Masters and Kota. Legacy is the only one standing to celebrate, and even he cant muster up much energy as bruised and bleeding as he is. Frostbite holds up his belt as he leaves, trying to salvage some dignity. The rest of the Mid-South team slowly gets up and files out of the cage, as SWAT President Sly Fondell enters the ring to present the team with a trophy.]
JT: Well, were getting the official trophy presentation here, and it looks like Williams and Poole are no longer coming to blows, though I dont think its over between them.
AF: This show has gone off without too many catastrophes... Backyard rumble aside.
JT: Its been a great night here in Texas. There have been great fights, new champions crowned, some major changes for SWAT, and the North-East winning a grueling War Games match. For all of us here at SWAT, Im Jeremy Tucker, saying thanks for watching.
[Legacy and Troy Poole lift the Rick Owen Cup trophy above their heads as we fade to black.]
