This is honestly so fucking confusing because NORMALLY there's a role at play here and we'd find out that ROLE if someone dies. But apparently there is no role, there's just this small bit of text that HINTS at Kira moving people.... so what the fuck is really going on here?
I have a few theories, some of which have already been said
(maybe)A. Kira shot his portal gun and traded Dave and someone's place. DT shot his
(what we're supposed to guess is his) colour laser blaster thing-y and with the switch... It hit him instead. Here's the thing, Dave doesn't seem to say it was him that shot it, I'm sure he would have said that from the beginning. So, if it wasn't Dave that has the colour laser blaster thing-y, then who is it?
- If this thing happens to not belong to Dave, then someone either has this and is a scum shutting people up
(somehow?) or someone isn't owning up to shooting this.
- If this thing happens to belong to Dave, then he needs to own up to it now and not send us on a wild goose chase of "who owns this fucking thing" or "what does it do?"
- No matter which question is asked and/or answered, is this a town thing or a scum thing?
- I'll ask the same question to Dave right now that Mongo asked. In your best of ways, Dave, what happened last night? Did you use the color blaster? Does it even do what we think? We need answers so this puzzle can get a solved a little bit faster.
B. Now, this could be a thing of Dave FAKING it.
(Yeah, Mongo, I'm stealing your theories. FUCK YA GONNA DO?) Remember, we saw this before in Mafia... Though I cannot remember which game it was, the mafia were slapping themselves with the post restriction to make the town believe they were town too... They fucking won with that tactic, if I remember correctly.
- Using Kira's "role/power", Kira's dumb blind luck made someone in the mafia switch places with the other and that lead to Dave being hit with his own beam.
- Although it's going to be difficult to find out now who Kira targeted with him being dead, if this theory is true then we need to quickly track down who Kira switched Dave with.
- I know Caffrey suggested that Mongo and Nausicaa switched places, but maybe we might have to look into them at first. With Mongo having a fucking rat trap, (a sign that mongo hasn't forgiven rat all these years later?
) and Nausicaa having Ice Cream... These are very random things but let's go with the "NAI" route here, considering that Ice Cream COULD be used for lethal tactics and it comes in a multitude of colours and a rat shooter could mean it SHOOTS things.
C. We're looking at this completely wrong, and we're staring AWAY from the actual answers to this. Mafia could have this role and it somehow has this certain type of effect to it, so maybe everyone we're eyeing up here are safe and we're not looking at WHO it could be that has this exact power.
- Who are we NOT looking at here? Who do we need to put our focus onto?
- This theory is just a random food for thought but I'd be fucked if I was right with this one when this game ends and neither of those in the crosshairs of everyone is actually a mafia member.
So, three wacky theories. What about my reads?
MOSLER: I think he's Doc Brown with the flux capacitor, the "Great Scott!" line nailed that on the head for me. Going by Steele's reads in day one and Mosler's posts, he seems to speak in a scientist character so that could be the answer to that - We're going for a TOWN LEAN on Mosler.
DAVE: Man, where do we fucking begin with you, Dave? You've hinted at the Rainbow-inator being yours, and tieing with the story of said episode it was in, it was a role reversal of Phineas and Dr Doofenshmirtz - I've got to give you a SLIGHT SCUM LEAN for you, Dave - until we know what that does and if you shot it, then that's all I have to say for you.
STEELE: I'm going off the bat and say TOWN LEAN for Steele - considering the way he acted in the last game and this game, it's very similar and in that game, he played to town. I don't really have anything on Steele that makes him any bit interesting. No hint, as far as my eyes can see, as to what invention he's brought to the table here.
NAUSICAA: I... am drawing a blank here with you, I cannot tell if you're town or scum. I know you've got ice cream but... I just don't know. You've not said anything that's of any fucking use at all - NULL READ for you until you actually help in some way than to shitpost.
CAFFREY: Very active, and on a normal day, this reads scum... But on a rainy day like this and last game, what the fuck do I read you as? I guess town but you're the only other person I can't make heads or tails about what your invention is.... do you even have an invention? You've said that photoshop and ice cream are "evil" but no proof of it? Oh, and jumped onto Mongo for... no reason? uhh ok - VERY SLIGHT SCUM READ.
HYPERION: Considering you've been playing Assassin's Creed lately
(according to what you've said in Discord anyway) I thought the Hidden Blade was yours but now it's apparently the three seashells? uhhh is there a reference to the three seashells i don't know about? You've fucked around with Dave at the start and said he was a commuter... yeah no that didn't work out, did it? Was he hinting at using safe claims? Possibly, and it's very risky with 16 picks and 10 being used. God, you must be taking notes on who's who and what invention you have - SCUM READ
MONGO: Oh fuck me, here we go. Made it VERY clear he's the rat trap killer. FOS'd me for... character work, according to Steele's reads. Out of three posts you could tell character work?! Fuck me.
