You all go into the hall as day breaks, but are shocked to see there are police there. Steele stands with his arms crossed, looking very displeased. "'Ello 'ello 'ello," says one of the policemen. Evidently they are British bobbies. Steele continues to stare at you all. "Now it has come to our hattention that one of you 'orrible lot 'as been... shall we say... hexperimenting with controlled substances."Seriously, these guys are like out of a play or something. They've even got the helmets on that look like big blue pointy tits. "We have it on good hauthority that a certain one among you has been becoming intoxicated with a modicum of hassistance of your hacquaintances. You!"He points, and blows his whistle. Yeah they've got old-fashioned whistles too. "You're fackin' nicked, sunshine!"Who got fackin' nicked? {Spoiler}  It's Mongo the Mason! He's been getting high with a little... yeah, you got the joke.

since he's dead i guess it doesn't matter anymore anyways. i was mongo's partner and am a mason also. look at my past posts and you'll see i played the role of John Lennon. that was to make it seem like we weren't a pair of masons. i guess i can't get a little help from my friend anymore, oh he turned out like poor elanore! we really need to twist and shout! and get the scum!

I suppose you would know if we were at miss one and fail, Kuroi. I am able to confirm that Kira is telling the truth. That confirmation is a useful power.
You trying to steer us into failing, repeatably, is not. Dylan didn't vote for you and I don't think you voted for him either. You thought DT was scum; he wasn't I was able to confirm his role. Then Cross! You were convinced Cross was scum and joined that vote; I didn't. In fact you have repeatably tried to lead the charge against people who turn up town. Why should we believe you now?
I think you are trying to take charge and finish us off. No thanks. We are close to winning and with you connecting yourself to Dunne, I think we can guess who your friend is.

Not know, per se. Perhaps there's only one other, but I'm not going to take the chance and throw my vote away. And how could you confirm that Kira is telling us the truth? Are you a mason-checker? I *did* vote for Dylan. I left DT to vote for Dylan. I thought he was scum until evidence piled up to convince me he's not. It's the same evidence I'm citing now with Dunne. I made a mistake with Cross. I should have asked him to defend himself. Of course you didn't. You know who's scum and who's town. I don't. Five people are alive. If Kira's honest, we can take him out of the list of scum. Based on Dunne's message, which he got warned for, I can take Dunne out of the running. There leaves three people left - Rat, you and I. I know I'm not scum, so I'm taking myself out. By process of elimination, you and Rat are scum. Really? I would confirm such close information about Dunne on day two? We are close to winning? Dude. We are one foot in the grave right now. Town h2f is on the ball. Scum h2f is anything but, and this was confirmed in day two when you weren't scum hunting. |

So what happened?

{Spoiler}  Which means... since nothing can stop the nightkill, SCUM WIN! Step forward Scum Team!   The unlucky town finalists everyone...   Congratulations Rat and h2f! Official scoreboard: Mafia 16:4 Town (3rd Party have 3 wins) Here is a summary of the game! DAY ONE{Spoiler} Pretty much everybody started off by getting into character, which was a nice touch. The fact that Mongo and Kira were the only two people to choose the same band led me to put them together as Masons - though shipping two of the biggest roleplayers together as the same character caused some controversy at first:
{Spoiler} 
They soon agreed that Mongo would play John and Kira would play Paul. Kuroi on the other hand was heavily breadcrumbing the fact that he was Electric Six... now in fairness I warned him that once he used his power it would be very obvious which band was responsible. We'll find out later on if this came back to bite him.
Kuroi was also in full troll mode, claiming that he knew who h2f's artist was but she didn't know his... h2f declared in the scumchat that she expected such intentionally scummy behaviour from him as a survival strategy. He also trolled everyone crumbing Beatles (oddly enough even Cross got in on this), baiting Kira in particular as he pretended to think everybody was roleplaying as Guns N Roses.
Kuroi was the first to cast a vote, pinning a random one on Dunne. Mosler was the first to get it right, casting his first vote on h2f. I was expecting to coast slowly to a No-Lynch, until Kira voted Mav shortly after the latter's prod for inactivity and all hell broke loose. Rat proved the old trope right by making sure the second one on a mislynch wagon was scum, and the votes kept rolling in for Maverick.
DT hammered Mav right after I went to bed which meant we then entered a four-hour Derp phase during which Mav finally showed up, got angry, made peace with Post Malone and convinced two players to unvote. Unfortunately for him, my rules clearly stated that a majority vote would be binding so he died.{Spoiler}Scum discussed killing Mosler (the Cop) or DT (the Captain) overnight. Meanwhile, DT busied himself arranging his own protection by commanding the Doctor (Hype) to protect him. Smart move. Will Hype put two and two together to realise that DT effectively confirmed himself as Town by doing this?
DT kept #realheat alive by ordering the Voyeur (Dunne) to keep an eye on Mongo. As he will receive both a "communication" result and an "investigation" one (more on that in a moment), this could be bad for Mongo in the morning. Mosler agreed to DT's command to investigate Kuroi (if he lives.)
Cross opted to stay in the town, thus enabling him to commute the following night should he choose. Kuroi also decided to not use his power and turn somebody "gay for a day." Dylan searched both of the Masons for his scum buddies and found them to be aligned with each other.
The scum finally opted for Rat to kill Mosler and h2f to Rolecheck DT. DAY TWO{Spoiler}Rat got the ball rolling on day 2 by casting suspicion on Kuroi, but conceded that "scummy" is his usual play style. Kuroi himself was the first to vote again, setting off down the wrong track as he looked at the third, fourth and fifth members of the Maverick wagon (which included himself.) The second person on the Mav wagon - the one who killed Mosler overnight, Rat - attempted some pre-emptive distancing from guilt as he claimed that if he were scum, he wouldn't have unvoted Maverick after Mav showed up. Is this line going to set anybody off? I predict Kira.
Rat's scumbuddy h2f played it safe by declaring her agreement with the suspicion cast on Kira, Kuroi and DT, but stopped short of actually poking any bears.
DT fired an impressive one-two shot as he not only surmised Mongo and Kira could either be Masons or Scum (although considering how I set this game up, that's a fairly easy assumption to make) but he also hit Dylan's role right on the head, latching onto Dylan posting lyrics from his safeclaim of all things and probing further towards his actual role of Traitor.
Now here is the big question. h2f and Rat know there is a traitor - but they don't know who it is. So it's imperative for them to identify him so they don't accidentally lynch or nightkill him. DT just made a solid case in-thread for Dylan to be a Traitor. Will the scum team pick up on this?
Having pinned Dylan as the Traitor though, DT seemed to be more focused on going after Kira and Mongo. Kira and Mongo make an attempt at damage limitation by FOSing Mongo and Hype, believing they could be the scum team.
Hype managed an incredible feat on this day, he managed to spell the same word two different ways with just one word in between them, and neither of them were the right spelling. "Kuroi is quite. Too quote [...]" He votes Kira, and Kira hits the OMGUS right back at him. Meanwhile, the real scum start quietly fingering Dunne. This seemed to work after a little while, as more people started to FOS the suspiciously-quiet Dunne.
Before switching his FOS to Dunne though, DT moved once more in the right direction as he cast the FOS towards h2f, though having to climb-down somewhat from his initial suspicion on Kira. DT's attention seemed to irritate h2f who took a big gamble on arguing with DT, prompting him to (initially) name her as the target for the Voyeur later that night.
But what caused DT to be wary of h2F? It was a comment from Hype;
DT was of course right to suspect h2f, though he inferred the role of Godfather from Hype's comment. h2f on the other hand scored a huge win as she interpreted the comment as a guess that she might be the Captain;
On the other side of the good/bad divide, DT had some guesses of his own:
Well, one out of five ain't bad, Dave. You got the Gay Bar bit right, you came so close with Hype but went the wrong way. And wait - Dylan is a doctor now? No! Go back! You were right the first time!
Despite a late rally by Rat, the day ended with only five votes cast. NIGHT TWO{Spoiler}The second night was a mixed one for the scum. Despite initially having Mongo down as the target for h2f's Rolecheck, the team quickly switched to Dylan at Rat's suggestion (he must have gone back and noticed DT's comment!) - This would ensure that the scum find their mystery partner tonight.
Dylan chose to check Dunne and Kuroi on this night, which may not have proved conclusive just yet, but at least it got him a step closer to joining h2f and Rat in the know.
The negative for scum on this night came when DT left Hype to his own devices instead of commanding him. This proved to be vital, as Hype chose to protect himself - and in the process avoided Rat's bullet which was aimed squarely at him.
Cross commuted, though this had no bearing on anything as no actions were directed at him. Kuroi elected not to use his ability, and Dunne didn't respond to my PM which meant that a coin was flipped, and he was determined to have ignored the command to watch DT. DAY THREE{Spoiler} Kuroi votes first for the third day running with a vote on DT. DT questions his decision.
Good question. At this point, Kuroi seemed to be gambiting a fair bit, most likely to gauge reactions. Or at least he'll probably tell you that  Rat calls for peace and begins making guesses at what went down overnight.
In reality, h2f and Rat were fully aware that Hype protected himself, or at least they were fully confident that this was the case. DT had also managed to figure out Hype's role.
The conversation throughout most of the day focused heavily on DT, and Kuroi's sudden interest in him. Hype seemed to be undecided, wondering if DT was possibly fishing for roles. He obviously missed DT's clue on Day 1.
h2f started to lean into her safeclaim of Lie Detector by posting some thoughts on how the role might operate in this game.
DT claimed to try and clear his name - this confused Dunne a little, DT says that if the Doctor and Voyeur are smart they won't reveal their identities. Kuroi however kept pressing DT - now pushing the narrative that DT outright true-claimed his scum role, but the rest of the players started coming round by this point.
Hype made a soft-claim, which technically should have been a risky move but was moot by now as the scum already had him pegged as Doc. Hype's clearing of DT caused Mongo to go back on the wagon and actually caused confusion for DT himself - DT had Hype down as Voyeur, and now he was claiming to have been influenced on the same nights that DT influenced the Doctor. This should have been clarification for DT, but Dave felt suspicious. Possibly just a bluff though, to get Mongo off of the DT/Hype wagon.
Kuroi pushed this DT wagon for a really long time. DT asked him why Dunne got attention and not Dylan, to which Kuroi responded by saying either DT would die or Dylan would. People were confused. Suspicion began turning towards Kuroi as Hype, Rat and Mongo join DT in voting him - bringing him perilously close to a lynch.
Kuroi revealed at this point that he had heard from Dunne, and this basically cleared him and DT. Despite effectively removing a whole buttload of players from the "possible scum" pile, Day 3 ended with no lynch.{Spoiler}The scum wanted to remove Hype, but initially held back because they were worried that he'd just protect himself again. It took them a little while to come round to the fact that one of them is a Roleblocker who, you know, is great for dealing with this sort of thing. Rat suggested killing Kira to try and implicate Hype or Dylan (Yep, immediately after finding their partner, they thought about using him as a distraction.)
Hype tried to protect himself again, but to no avail as he was Roleblocked and killed.
Dylan checked out Kuroi and Kira, Cross couldn't commute as he'd done so the previous night, and Kuroi used his post restriction on Dunne. DAY FOUR{Spoiler}Everybody piled on Dylan, the end. NIGHT FOUR{Spoiler}Kuroi's post restriction on Dunne from the previous night expired without Dunne even getting a chance to post on Day 4. Kuroi elected not to restrict anybody for Day 5.
The scum had a fairly easy time determining their nightkill, Rat elected to do the dirty on DT. h2f checked out Mongo's role.
DT managed to get one last order in to his Voyeur, ensuring that Dunne was there to watch his own captain be brutally murdered by an unseen hand.
Cross commuted. DAY FIVE{Spoiler}While it didn't pass as quickly as Day 4, this day was a fairly brief one. Mongo was first to vote as he put one down on Cross, citing lack of experience - presumably suggesting that scum should have let DT live to further suspicion against him.
Rat jumped on the wagon - though jumped back off at L-1, Kira joined in, and h2f made sure to distance herself, avoiding casting the hammer and drawing suspicion to herself.
Cross hit back with a retaliation vote on Kira, who argued that Cross' quietness was making him look scummy - as well as the comment;
Of course, this is just a quote from Paranoid Android, but Kira took it to mean that Cross had some sort of suspicious Kingmaker power. Rat also proposed this in the scum chat. Kuroi was the one who cast the hammer, at which point Rat gave him an extra kick for good measure. NIGHT FIVE{Spoiler}The scum decided early that Mongo would die, and Kuroi would be Roleblocked. Can't have a pesky Post Restrictor shutting the scum up when they are so close to winning. Plus Kuroi is always a good one to keep alive, as he tends to draw suspicion to himself. Dunne declined to use his Voyeur ability. DAY SIX{Spoiler}The final day was almost as fast as the fourth. And what a good day you picked to end the game - I didn't make any more graphics.
Kuroi started off proceedings by laying out some decent logical reasons for why h2f and Rat were scum team. Kuroi pleaded with Dunne to join him voting, or for Dunne to be replaced.
Now here's why I didn't replace Dunne at this point (apart from the fact that by time I came back to the thread, Kuroi had been lynched)- Dunne was checking in and answering PMs. It's unfortunate that he didn't get involved as much in the game, but he submitted an action for the previous night and as such I couldn't just decide at that point to kick him out. Perhaps in subsequent games I'll be a lot harder on inactivity and spell out beforehand how involved I want a player to be. I didn't this time round, and that's an oversight. But on days that lasted longer than a few hours, players all tended to get in at least a couple of posts per game day. That's all I'm looking for right now, but like I say in the future maybe I'll be stricter.
Anyway... back to the game. h2f hit back against Kuroi and set the wheels in motion for the scum win by getting off an OMGUS vote, claiming that Kuroi's statement that the game was in LyLo was a scum slip up. Rat came in and revealed that he roleblocked Kuroi on Night Five, but held off from voting - until Kuroi pushed Kira to vote h2f.
Rat stepped in, putting the second vote on Kuroi. He wasn't taking any chances. It was only a matter of time before poor sweet innocent Kira came along and took the bait.
Kira deliberated, he really did. But in the end the allure was too strong. He placed down his vote. Kuroi flipped.
Fade to black. Wait... why was Kuroi a post restrictor for town? Well, it's not like we've never seen a town PR before. And honestly, I just wanted to cause a little bit of chaos for town. Kuroi's power really never got used (well it did, but day ended too fast) - if it hit, then the affected player would have only been allowed to post votes, and only in the form of "I'm gay for X" I gave Kuroi this power because I figured Town were actually quite strong. When I put the roles together I was trying to nerf scum a bit, as I'd had a tendency to overpower them. Which is why town was stacked with roles that could protect themselves or others (Doctor, Commuter). communicate and narrow the pool of potential scum (Masons, Friendly neighbour), I put a voyeur in there so that Dunne could potentially call out lies if a player said they'd done X to a target on Night Y but actually he'd seen action Z take place... I made DT a captain because firstly it fit "Master of Puppets" and he's a good player, and might be able to guide his Power Roles to more appropriate targets. I gave scum team a roleblocker as it's a fairly standard scum role to use, and a Role Cop mostly in order to hunt down Dylan the Traitor. I also made him bulletproof once just in case he got aimed at. I made him a parity cop so he could try and figure out who his partners were, but that proved to take longer than I'd anticipated. Although there were three scum in a twelve-player game, I used the Traitor role to separate them out so their advantage was reduced a little. On another day, this could have gone a very different way. The Captain was identified immediately, and the cop was killed on night 1. Once the link between DT and Hype was known, scum ID'd the doctor. After that it was all downhill. If I ran this setup again, I'd tweak the Mafia Role Cop to be something else, and I'd make the Voyeur a Watcher perhaps, so they could see WHO performed an action but not WHAT they did. And I'd probably lose the post restrictor altogether. He really was just there to cause some doubt. Anyway guys, thanks for playing. Town were so close! Kuroi had it figured out, but it came like, a day too late.
