Scene opens up with Eron looking out of the window. It´s a rainy day and the drops fiercely hit the window glass, one after the other. After some instants, the man they used to call “Night” notices the camera behind him. He calmly looks at it and ,after a cough or two, begins speaking in his usual tranquil tone.
“I said it and, I remember very well saying so. Jay Stevens, I said I would not respect you until I faced you one on one again and saw for myself what you could do in the ring, when I did not underestimate you. And you did, in that ring, what you do best, that being bringing up a great fight whenever the situation calls for it.
You almost had me there, legit, and you ,almost won that tournament. But I would not be Eron Hunter if I didn´t know how to react to each and every difficult situation life and fights throw at me. I am used at capitalizing from each and, even so tiny, mistake my adversaries make.
That is why I am now the tournament winner, and that´s why you fell short off a victory there. You did your best and so did I. In the end my best bested your best and I stood there with my hand raised in triumph, while you had to muster all your bravery so that you did not fell in complete sadness.
I might be the winner, and you only second best.
But i´ll give Respect, where Respect is Due and say that you too, Jay Stevens, are a winner in your own right. This tournament was just your first step towards bigger things and achievements.
So, worry not, Jay. You are bound for glory and you know it.
As for now, you have to be content with getting Respect from someone who doubted you In the beginning. And since we´re both warriors, we both know what genuine Respect is worth.”
Eron looks at the camera for some more instants and then concentrates on the rain, which is persistently knocking on that small window , again and again.
