Three. Important. Seconds.
All it took was three- and a match that MYOJIN had felt himself losing control of was quickly turned around. The Shining Star had retained the XHF Junior Heavyweight Championship for a third time. By the skin of his teeth? Sure. But legally and definitively? You betcha.
The blonde wrestler walked backstage, breathing heavily as he collapsed to the floor in front of the cameras in the conference room next to the table and chair. He slowly pulled himself into the chair and picked up one of the fresh water bottles set out, sitting the title belt in front of him. Popping the cap off, he quickly splashed the water in his face- smearing his eyeliner a bit, then took a quick gulp.
“That was… everything I expected it to be and more.” He spoke, clearing his throat dryly as he leaned back.
“Another spectacular main event on my record. Another great battle against one of best NPW and the entirety of the XHF Network has to offer-... But most importantly, another retention. I'm still here as the champion, and I had no doubts about that. If anyone still didn't believe in my skill and my passion- There aren't any excuses left.”
“Eron, darling, that was amazing! You fought harder than anyone I've faced before. We put on a clinic. Though there's a stain on the match, one that annoys me more and more as I think about- that interference by one of Dane's boys. I don't appreciate someone getting into business between you and I- and I know you're upset about it too.”
“But did you see how that crowd absolutely adores you, Eron? You're sensational. A popular name growing more and more. You lost today and that probably blows right now- but there will be many other opportunities for you in the future. I can definitely see you becoming a future champion in NPW. Keep your head up and keep going like I know you will.”
MYOJIN stood from the table, picking the belt up once more and placing it on his shoulder, heading to walk off. “And who knows? Maybe this won't be the last time we ever cross paths. If we ever fight again, let's make sure there aren't any distractions, yeah?”
“Sayōnara, NPW. Thanks for showing me a good time!”
