Sinclair Godfrey leaned back in the antique wingback chair, frowning slightly as she marked the page in the book she was reading. Her other hand moved, tapping her fingers against the cover of the book before she gave a shrug. She leaned forward slightly, sighing. 'All that tough talk, all that bravado, all of that courage in insulting the Scourge. And where is it now, Andi? Where is all of that now? Did reality set in when you realized you would have to back up your words is that it? You wanted to face Donzig, and you have gotten really quiet when you have to face me.'
Sinclair leaned back again, shifting in her seat as she thumped the book against her leg. Her free hand lifted, smoothing back her hair before the hand waved absently. 'You see I could have faced anyone! I deserve to be facing that coward Isabel Rios, but much like you? She is afraid, she knows that if Commandrix had not stuck her nose in our business? I would be the Amazons champion right now! And Rios knows it, just like she knows when she looks at the ladies of the KGB she is living on borrowed time. Esmeralda is facing off against that--'
Her eyes flashed angrily, and she paused. A moment lost in thought, and then she snapped her fingers.'--has been. The once great, once feared, and now crawling back here with her tail between her legs Olympia! And instead of a worthy opponent? I am facing someone decidedly unworthy and that is you, Andi.'
Sinclair left the book laying in her lap, her hands moving to the arms of her chair. Her nails raking across the crumbling and torn leather, leaning back as she tilted her head. Then she looked up, lips pressed into a grim line before she shook her head before she continued. 'Instead of facing someone who should be your champion, instead of facing someone who has gone toe to toe with the best in the XHF! Instead of proving that your words are more then tough talk? What are you doing? Making jokes about beating some jobber? Making video calls to your sister? Making faces at her squalling brat? At the very least you could take your beating like an adult, Andi.'
A sniff.
'This is insulting, this is disrespect. I am the Lady Sinclair Godfrey, the 9th Baroness Godfrey! I am the strong right hand of the Scourge, I am the Baroness of the KGB! And I will not be ignored by some spoiled, unworthy brat! And at August on the Atlantic Three? I am going to beat the respect into you, I am going to teach you what it means to cross someone like me! Someone like us!' The book was snatched up again, and she fairly threw it across the room. She swept to her feet, and slowly started to pace. Her lips drew back in a snarl, and she shrugged.
'I thought Andi Snow, that I would challenge you. That I would see what you were made of, at the very least! And now I see what you are made of? Is dross. Is nothing!' Sinclair snapped angrily, spinning on her heel before she paced back the other way. In fact, the angry way she was pacing was oddly familiar though she didn't seem to notice it. 'At the very least, I saw you as a chance to show what I am capable of. To remind everyone that I am more then the woman who was pinned by Rios! Maybe, just maybe I thought of you as a stepping stone, Andi!'
A pause, and Sinclair's eyes narrowed.
'But now I see you are not worthy of either of these things, I see that the only thing you are good for? Is to be a lesson. To be a reminder.' A nod, and she smiled slowly. 'Of what happens when you walk in here and try to get famous by calling out the KGB! Of what happens when you are some two bit girl who is trying to escape the casting couch by trying to make your name by calling out Donzig! Well, no one makes their name on the Baroness Godfrey!' Sinclair pointed at herself, and then took a deep breath before she reached up to brush back her hair. 'So while, Donzig beats down Freakke. And while EVK beats Olympia from pillar to post, and while Joanne claims the title that was too much for Rios? I guess, I get you.'
A snort.
'Andi. Snow.' Sinclair shook her head, and she slowly settled back into the chair. Her legs crossed before her again, and she settled back with a lazy wriggle before she let her hands move to fold over her chest. 'Fine. Unworthy of my attention as you might be? You have it. And I am going to make you pay for every second of it, Andi.'
