There is a sole candle above the small, wooden, table.
The man they call Lynx is sitting on a chair, next to the table, mask on. Arms crossed on his chest, he stares at the camera. After shaking his head a few times, he starts speaking in a decisive tone.
“Cowardice…
The absence of courage or behavior that is fearful towards something. I have been called many things in my wrestling career, but never a coward. I guess there is not an inch of what man calls respect, between us two, now is there, Keith Willams.
That is no surprise.
I don´t sympathize with you
And sure as hell, I don´t respect you.
But even when there´s no respect between two fighters, one of them should be smart enough to recognize the risk he is affronting the next moment of his life. Yes, I remember hanging like a sheep in mid-air, with you trying to skin me as a butcher does with dead meat, Keith Williams. And absolutely why I remember that…
…That´s why Lynx is here now.
If you´re a fighter and if you´re experienced enough, you should know better than to underestimate me. Cruiserweight Tournament Winner, and there´s something else I will win in my career, and that, old chap, is your career served on a silver plate to yours truly.
Any man should be aware of the risk he faces and should be ready to face the adversities life throws at him if he wants to survive in this world. You and your goon squad have gone too far, too many times have you done as you pleased, without paying for your sins.
That has gone and done you overconfident, and besides that, you´re underestimating too; these sins will nevermore go unpunished. This is not any other wrestling company, right at this time. And this one here is no overpaid slouch you´re dealing with, here.
I´ve been beaten to a bloody pulp before.
Bones Broken.
Sweating blood and spitting it at every eyeblink.
And I am still here, telling the tale of it, after all these years. Still running with the best. Still going toe to toe with anyone challenging me. If you thought you could do as you please, in NPW, and walk the halls of this building as if you would own the place, well, think again.
One small mistake and you will find your neck snapped and your back spine broken as if it was a pencil. You´ve gone and done it, Keith Williams; if you think you are the Big White Whale around here, well I tell you what…
I am the goddamn Captain Ahab!
And there´s nothing in this whole world that can stop me from hunting you to the unending depths of the ocean if need be. I will make it my call to hunt you down. Beat you down and Lynch you down if need be.
There is a thin, small, line between courage and stupidity and you know what, Keith Williams?
You crossed the goddamn line one time too many.
Now it is time for you to pay for your actions and your sins if you believe in god- that is. You would do better not to believe in one, if you ask me, because if you do you are sure to be sure that you´ve bought your ticket to hell this time around.
And if you do not, if you are an atheist, then you should know by now that we are the sole responsible for our actions and have to carry the burden for them on our shoulders. Well, I tell you what Keith Williams; Your shoulders are not broad enough to carry this much weight.
I will see you fall and crumble in front of me
…Or my name is not Lynx anymore.”
Lynx looks at the camera for some more instants and then extinguishes the sole light enlightening the room. The small and feeble candlelight. The scene fades slowly to black.
He lays on the bed, in the darkness of the motel room, staring at the ceiling. Never before have had these words from Robert Frost had so much meaning as they have now. Has he gone too far, is his rage and aggressiveness the right choice?
As Jesse Jamester said, is the man with the mask the same man as the one without it? Is unleashing the beast the right choice? Even if it means losing yourself? Is this price, the price to pay for someone else´s actions, the right price?
Eron shook his head, still staring holes at the ceiling. There are times in which a man must do what a man do must. If living without Honor and Dignity is the way of living, well, Eron Hunter doesn´t want that type of life. He will be held responsible for his choices, just like Keith Williams will, and he is ready to pay the price of his choices to the fullest, even if that means losing something from oneself. Lynx is the right choice now because the time and situation require it. He has been Lynx before, after all, now hasn´t he? And he has been able to turn back to his old ways, once the situation was over.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
