The sun completed its route over the Mediterranean Sea and began to set, reddening the waters that surrounded the Sicilian coast. The young man sat near the seashore, leaning against a tree stump, guitar in his hands, looking at it while playing a slow and melancholic melody. The camera moved away from his face, focusing on his hands and the slow way with which they caressed the strings. After some melodic instants, the young man they know as Eron Hunter stopped playing the guitar and started speaking in a slow, placid, tone.
“The chance I have to win that Battle Royale…
…Compares to the chance a Teardrop has to extinguish an Ocean of Flames!”
He shook his head and smiled slowly. The fingers began playing with the strings for some more seconds, stopping again after a short while.
“But that doesn’t mean I should stop trying.
I have always battled against the odds. They always wrote me off when it came to achieving great things. I always proved them wrong. They said I was too young and fragile for the World of Wrestling. I became a champion in MJPW in my second fight and managed to stay champion until the federation closed its doors. They said I was too weak and Mystic for NPW. I became a Tournament winner. They said the World Championship was beyond my grasp. I proved them again wrong by becoming the World Champion against all odds”
Eron took a deep breath, leaning against the tree, caressing his Guitar
“Even in defeat, I was a winner. I indeed lost my World Championship Belt in my first defense. I lost a portion of my health also, but it is also true that I won the hearts of the fans and the minds of the Powers that be. Northern Pro Wrestling is no more, but even if so…
…Even if so I became a Hall Of Famer at the age of Twenty Six.
Now I know that this means nothing to most of you. You will say that what is gone is gone and matters not, for every dawn is a new beginning and a fighter has to prove himself anew in every fight and challenge that appears in front of him.
And you are right.
This is a new dawn for a new federation. A new beginning in which each one of us has to prove he is worth something, in this moment and in that squared circle. And this challenge is a real one for all of us, be it that you are a grizzled veteran of the ring or a rookie battling it out for glory in that arena filled with fans who will cheer all of us while we fight, they will cheer for everyone that manages to throw another one off the top ropes and they will cheer even more so for the one that manages to overcome all odds and remain the last one standing in that ring becoming the first champion of Wrestle: UK.
So, for all of you, what I have achieved means nothing.
But for me, it means the world!
It means I have overcome the odds over and over again. Even when some of us or all of you wrote me off, I managed to achieve grand things, and I am Proud of it All. I will do my best; I will follow my dreams and my heart and will attempt to fly high once more. I will try to soar high in the skies of the Wrestling World, and there is nothing all of you can do to prevent me from trying.
Trying, mind you, not achieving it at the first attempt. Even if wouldn´t mind it if it would happen; I will find the inner strength to follow my dreams again, because I am a dreamer and that is where my strength derives from. But I know I am not the only one, many of you do dream about grandeur. Some of you have managed to grasp some of it; some of you are green behind the ears. All of you are fighters.
And I know what might happen. No matter how swift or powerful I might be, I can badly do something against five or ten of you, if you decide to gang on me and try to throw me off the ropes. What I can do is find the might and wisdom to avoid that from happening. I am a simple man, not a superhero, and as one I have my limits. But I also have been a world champion, which means I know the ropes well and am speedy and mighty enough to try and avoid being ganged upon.
This one fight is a toughie.
I must be honest, sincere, and true. I dislike the rumbles. Sometimes it is more a matter of luck than anything else. But you know what they say; Luck helps the Brave and the Prepared. So, whatever a fighter can do, he will do. If it means you have to run for miles and miles if it means you have to lift mountains if it means you have to fly towards the sky...
..Whatever it takes to win, you as a fighter must do.
Even if your chances are slim.
Even if you must overcome all the odds
Even if you are merely a Teardrop in an Ocean of Flames
A fighter must do whatever he has to to become the last one standing.
I know my chances are slim. But even if it is so that it’s a matter of David versus Goliaths, even all of you write me off, even if it’s my first fight in ages, I will follow my heart and dreams and try with all my might to be the best there has been and the best there will be.
See you in that ring. Comrades”
