Seated on the ring apron, Irina is drenched in sweat and water. Blonde and red hair draped over her face in wet strands. Their head is hung low, an unreadable expression across their visage as they remain silent. A single hand comes up to force wet locks from their field of vision as they finally and properly come into view. There's a slight grimace, though they don't seem to be too angry at anything in particular.
"I heard you loud and clear, Cross. Your opening statement gave much to think about. If I had lost that first match, would I be sitting on the sidelines? Do people only care about me because of said win? What will happen if I were to lose this match up? You pose many questions and I have many answers for you. I always look at every possible outcome, wins and losses do not determine how talented one is. Yet, I was the one who came out on top in my debut match here in IPW. Not just because of skill, but because of the pure talent I have as well. I made first impression by capitalizing on a perfect moment and sealing the fate of unfortunate opponent."
Irina pauses briefly, taking a moment to reflect. She had won her debut, it was how she had ended up where she was right now. The Gatorade water bottle in her hands lifts, a large portion of the contents poured into her mouth like a waterfall. Cheeks puff out like a Chipmunk, before water is swallowed audibly. Tongue peeks out to wet pink lips before she starts again.
"There is possibility that I lose this match. But, there is possibility that you lose as well. There is possibility that I win, there is possibility that you win. There are fifty fifty chance for both of us. I will not leave this up to chance when we step foot into the ring together, Cross Recoba. I have been training day in and night out for this very moment. The one possibility I want more than anything is to have my hand raised in victory while you are staring up at the lights. Nothing but sound of ringing in ears as you try to come to grips with the fact that you failed to do what you set out to do."
The mere thought of victory causes a slight smirk across her lips. It's brief and faint, though the corner of her lips twitches. After the stare down and then Cross' blatant form of disrespect by trying to takeover their press conference, albeit, he had been there via satellite. His words still did not sit well within the Russian spitfire who was trying their best to reign in their own spirited attitude.
"Can you handle a loss, Cross Recoba? More specifically, could you handle taking a loss to someone who has only recently made their way into an actual wrestling company? There is no more rookie stage for me. You think that I speak of pressure because I cannot handle what has been thrown at me so early into my career here. But, I simply speak facts. There will always be pressure, for everyone, no matter how they see it. You can claim not to feel it, but I know that you know what said pressure is like. But, the pressure only forms a diamond in the rough of the wreckage."
Irina nods, satisfied with her words so far. Irina shuffles slightly, though inhales a gentle breath as they bring one leg up, the other leg follows.
"You call me inexperienced, unpolished, yet I can adapt to styles well. I have been doing this for three years, the last three years spent training off and on. Until finally, opportunity struck and Jason Long allowed me to sign my name on the dotted line. You do not think that was merely luck, do you? He knew what my worth was as soon as he saw me. As soon as he saw what I was capable of doing. Not just to women, but to grown men as well. You have a size advantage over me, yes. But, I know how to chop down much larger trees than you."
"You have the notion that I won because my opponent wanted to show off and perhaps you are right in that aspect. But, I have never been one to not seize the moment when it comes to an opportunity to have a real challenge and as much as I hate to say it... I know you will give me just that. I do not expect this to be an easy win nor do I expect you to go easy on me. In fact, I want you to throw everything in your arsenal at me. Because that is what it will take to keep me down for the three count."
"I will not simply allow you to walk away from this without absolutely giving my all to ensure I am the one who walks away from this with the possibility of gold hanging over me. I do not do this for championships or wins or because I need the money. I do this because I like to fight and I like to put on a show. That is where you and I seem to differ... and perhaps that will be my one saving grace. I do not need luck nor do I wish you luck. We will see who trumps who in the end."
Irina slowly stands to her feet, getting up to walk towards the camera. The final shot is nothing but Irina's scowl before the scene fades to darkness a moment later.
