Mongo the Destroyer, Dave D-Flipz, and 3 more like this

We open on the only appropriate set piece for a Dylan Black promo, a table with an XHF/GUNS/one sly J-RoK logo with "EVE" spray painted over it. A small title display stand is on the table, empty and ready for a title to be dropped in it. Footsteps echo in the room and from stage right walks in Dylan. He unclasps the J-RoK Visual Kai title from his waist and drops it on the title stand. The clatter echoes as Dylan drags the chair back and sits down. He sighs and stares at the camera.
How does one sell themselves in 1500 words? Sit in front of a camera for four minutes and tell the world why they should be the next Junior Heavyweight Champion, the winner of Cruiserfest? Weave in a relatable story and tie a promo in a bow? Have just enough flashy shit to keep everyone focused and not clicking off your boring shit? If I had that answer then maybe I'd have succeeded at either of the last two Cruiserfests I participated in. So you might be expecting to try a new formula to figure out how to win this year? Not happening. I don't have to tell you how or why I'm going to win. I've said time and time again that my actions speak louder than my words. My various hunts for the X*Crown speak for my skills and my many outings as the Superior Pillar of Violence are proof of my abilities. I don't have to talk shit about the other thirteen participants because I'm above that. I'm above all of you. What I'm not above, even if I've acted like it, is the Junior Heavyweight Championship.
He shifts his weight and leans on the table.
Never in my career have I let my weight define me. I never took to the idea of a division specifically for people who weigh less than this, more than that, gender-split divisions. The only thing that is going to define me is the fact that I am the VERY BEST wrestler produced by the XHF Network. Day in and day out I have represented and given everyone the VERY BEST matches and stories. Things that the Junior Heavyweight Division has been lacking for a long time. But in my conquest to truly reign over the XHF Network I've spent too little time being the workhorse and not trying for the workhorse title.
Dylan nods.
When it comes to the Junior Heavyweight Division, these boys work a lot harder than most of the rest of the Network. To be the Junior Heavyweight Champion, you're traveling to a different fed each month and defending against the very best those feds have to offer. All while also taking bookings in your home fed. A lot of guys aren't up to task there. Florida Man, Chris Sanderson, Derrick Lancaster, Charles and Dar took one step forward and were shot down at the first challenger. People like MYOJIN, Bloodied Fox...
He says with a bit of disdain for the man who took his X*Crown from him.
...and El Rey...
Even more disdain for the man who just beat him in the latest chapter of their bitter rivalry last week.
They have managed to live up to the massive legacy left by our Junior forefathers. The Venöms, the Velezs, the Angels. And many more who laid the groundwork for the workhorses of our era. To be the Junior Heavyweight Champion you practically have to carry the XHF on your shoulders. Because unlike the X*Crown Champion, unlike the Tag Champs up to recently, you're running laps around the Network. Literally. You got all the press conferences, all the shows in different parts of the world. Against people you'd normally never fight. All the other champions are sitting in their cushy feds making people come to them. You go to the people!
A small grin forms on his face.
But while the Junior Heavyweights have been the workhorses, I revolutionized being a workhorse. I started the touring trend. Beat the Junior Heavyweight title by a month but I got there first. And everyone has done nothing but praise the touring X*Crown. Never imitated. Never replicated. And I think that's why I've got the Mongo seal of approval for best X*Crown Champion ever. Imagine what I could do for the Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Dylan stands up.
And imagine... maybe the key is I just haven't imagined myself in the role as the workhorse, in the role of the Junior Heavyweight Champion. I've always strived to be on the top of the card. I always thought that was how you carried a company. Maybe if I took the less serious road and imagined a little. Smelled the roses and let the other chumps beat each other up on my throne, I'd have reached this mindset sooner. It's almost easy!
He punches the air and lifts the Visual Kai title off its stand, tossing it over his shoulder.
At Night of Champions, I'm seizing the day and knocking over everyone who stands in my way for the Junior Heavyweight Championship! I will be the next XHF Grand Slam Champion and take another step to cementing my legacy as the greatest acquisition in XHF history! Life is but a dream, and for everyone at Cruiserfest, your dreams will turn to nightmares! Because I'm walking out of Night of Champions the Junior Heavyweight Champion... or I'm not walking out at all. Of that I'm certain.
Shaka across the throat. Fade to black.
For the last time.
