There are quite a few chairs set up, each one being filled by a reporter. At the front of the room is a WUK table with a few microphones on it. The door of the room opens and in walks “The High Roller” Wesley Crane’s personal assistant, Henderson. Henderson takes a seat at the table. He leans forward and taps the microphone a couple of times to make sure it’s turned on. Tapping the microphone causes some serious feedback. The reporters in attendance all wince as the noise is ear piercing. Henderson has an “oops” face as he leans into the microphone.
Henderson: “Hello, my name is Henderson, I’m the personal assistant to “The High Roller” Wesley Crane.”
The reporters all laugh a little. Everyone obviously knows who Henderson is, but his quirkiness and low self esteem causes him to feel the need to introduce himself to a room full of people who already know who he is.
Henderson: “Mr. Crane will not be here this evening. Instead, he has sent me out here to be the mouthpiece for The High Rollers Club. I’ll now accept the first question.”
There are a bunch of hands that raise in the air. Henderson scans the room and notices a beautiful blonde sitting a couple of rows back. He’s immediately smitten. He points in her direction.
Henderson: “Yes, you… the pretty blonde with the black dress on. Please state your name, who you work for, and then ask your question.”
Blonde Haired Reporter: “Good evening, Henderson. My name is Hillary Johnson from the.top.turnbuckle.com. My question is about Nicholas “Honest” Cage. Is it true that part of the reason Rage and Cage won’t wrestle at Legacy 18 is because Nicholas is going to be on the new season of Love Island, USA?”
Henderson is a deer caught in the headlights. He looks panicked. He has no idea how to answer the question.
Henderson: “I, uh… Well… you see… I’m not at liberty to speak on such things. Mr. Cage has agents and lawyers for those types of questions. Next question…”
Henderson scans the room again. He points to one of the reporters toward the back.
Henderson: “Yes, you, go ahead.”
Reporter Two: “Oliver Davis from WrestleTalk. Henderson, this match is the 2nd straight match that Wesley Crane has lost in. How’s the former WUK World Champion feeling after tonight’s loss?”
Henderson: “Good question. I can assure you, Mr. Davis, that Mr. Crane will be okay. He was robbed at Night of Champions and tonight, he was robbed once again.”
Oliver Davis: “If you don’t mind me asking, how was he robbed again tonight?”
Henderson: “Mr. Crane was attacked by a homicidal lunatic before he even entered War Games. The Sheik should have been barred from the building as soon as his tag team match was over. The Sheik had no right attacking Mr. Crane. None whatsoever. Next question…”
Henderson looks around and points to a hipster looking guy.
Henderson: “Okay, you… go ahead.”
Hipster Reporter: “It’s no secret that Wesley has been battling little injuries. How’s the former champ feeling after War Games?”
Henderson looks nervous again.
Henderson: “I… Well… That’s a question that should be asked to Mr. Crane’s medical staff.”
Henderson looks around at the other reporters. He finds the next one to ask questions.
Henderson: “You, in the back… with the “New Day” t-shirt.”
“New Day” Reporter: “Andrew Wind, from the NO DQ Podcast. Will Wesley Crane be challenging Kalmin Watts for another match?”
Henderson: “No, not at this time. Right now he needs to deal with The Sheik… but make no mistake about it, Wesley Crane will be the WUK World Champion again in the near future… Next…”
Henderson scans the room.
Henderson: “Alright, the lady with the pink shirt on.”
Pink Shirt Reporter: “Kelly Huddle, prowrestlingsports.com… My question is about the tension between the High Rollers Club and The Glucks. It’s obvious that there are cracks in the foundation. How’s Wesley going to deal with that?”
Henderson: “This is the last question I’m taking. You want my answer? I’ll explain it like this… I view The High Rollers Club to be like a chain. The chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Mr. Crane is always three steps ahead of any situation. He knows how he’ll deal with this, and at Legacy 18, he will address it.”
The reporters all raise their hands once again. Henderson nervously stands up and walks out of the room, leaving everyone wanting more.
Scene Ends.
