BEEP...BEEP...BEEP…
An unusual sound, perhaps that of iron on iron...its high pitch and shrill sound echoes in his mind, repeating but uncertain. Where is it, what is it?
BEEP...BEEP...BEEP…
Today is not the day for mysteries or quests, as there is already an agenda at hand...the protection of Olympus. The village of Litochoro has been suffering a number of attacks and pillages as of late, with warriors and beasts from afar encroaching on the lands. Crops have been decimated, homes burned, villagers taken or killed. Prayers have been made to the Gods, the high beings of Olympus. However, this time the words of the village cannot go unnoticed, cannot be ignored...the prayers speak of a rare and dangerous creature, one that must not be allowed to return to power…
Olympus is home to the Gods of old, the original twelve Titans of Heaven. From Oceanus and Tethys, Hyperion and Theia, to Cronus and Rhea, the Titans sit atop the mountain in the palace. The prayers and concerns of villagers below has never bothered them before, nor have they aided or assisted. The divine rule states the Gods cannot interfere in any way with the events of Man, whether to help or to stop them. This threat however...this new evil verges on destroying the very foundation that the Titans build, it threatens not only their people and them, but also their children. Stood at the edge of a palace terrace, Hyperion looks over the clouds surrounding him, and down the the earth far far below. As the High One, King of Othrys, it falls to him to command his legion in the face of war.
My Lord, their prayers grow louder by the day, their plea’s linger in mine own ear. Would you take to the land below to conquer this evil?
Theia, my love...it worries me not about the wellbeing of the villagers, nor their crops or livestock. This evil however, this beast incarnate that attacks and send forth its warriors...I fear its power will not subside, nor will its advances halt at Litochoro. If the village falls, I dread the thought that Olympus itself might be next.
The sound of children's laughter grows closer, as three blonde haired kids approach, running towards Hyperion playfully. He bends down to one knee, to lower himself to their level. They have his characteristics...bright blue eyes, shining golden hair and fair skin matching that of the clouds above.
My children, do you behave yourselves while enjoying the merriment of Olympus?
Yes father!
And do you abide by the rules of your nanny when commanded?
Yes father!
And when your mother tells you time for sleep is nigh, you prepare and wash yourself before bed?
Yes father!
Then answer me this, why are you still here?
The kids say nothing, bashfully looking from one to the others.
Hahaha, rebellious and daring as myself following my creation! I would not believe you to be mine own children, if it were not for your gall and bravado!
Theia, their mother, approaches.
Children, it is much too late for you. Now, to bed with you all.
The children moan and complain, but Theia speaks up.
I will hear none of your complaints! Selene, Helios, Eos! To bed with you at once. Kiss your father farewell before he ventures forth.
More complaining, but the children hug their father before running off. Hyperion stands up, and embraces his wife.
I understand you must go forth, but please return to me. Those children are engraved with your godly might, and I alone could not control them!
Save your concern my love, for our children will grow to be Champions of Olympus, as you and I observe them to adulthood.
The two smile to each other, then kiss. A few gentle moments pass, before Hyperion breaks the hold.
Alas, it this demon appears now, it signals the end of times. I must step forth and stop this evil. It’s reach must be stopped, before other villages are affected.
Will you bring the legion with you to battle? It will take some time to prepare.
No need, my militia will be on stand-by should my efforts fail. I do not predict that to happen, you can rest assured.
He smiles once more, a gentle soothing expression. He shakes his head, his golden blonde hair tussling as he does so. He steps back from Theia, raises his arms and like magical a golden suit of armor appears over his body. From toe to throat, he is covered in a glowing battle suit, a long flowing white cape billowing from behind.
My love, I will return soon. The other Titans should be on alert, should my efforts fail. And lastly, Theia…
He pulls her in and gives her a very big kiss.
...I will love you always and forever.
She smiles at him, glowing almost. He nods to her, raises his hand in the air and a large trident materializes from nothing. With his armor attached and trident in his hand, he runs to the edge of the terrace and jumps, sailing through the air from atop Mount Olympus…
BEEP...BEEP...BEEP…
That sound, it returns. It floods my mind, but what could it be from? It stifles my breath to hear it, numbs my body...a test perhaps, from the demon? It is...otherworldly…
Landing on the earth below, Hyperion’s dive from heaven causes a huge shockwave to soar out from his location. Dust and soil flies in all directions from his landing spot, as villagers and farm hands look on him in awe, in shock...rarely do the Gods answer their prayers or question, rarely do they receive the help they so desire from the Heavens. A bountiful harvest, a mild winter. A healthy birthing of livestock, a fruitful feast upon high eve. But to see a God appear before them, to know their prayers are being heard…
Citizens of Litochoro...I am Hyperion, Titan of Heavenly Light. I have heard your words, your thoughts, your fears. I am here to offer peace of mind, and to venture forth towards the evil that plagues you.
The citizens of Litochoro approach the God, hesitant to near him. Standing much taller than them, at nearly seven feet, he towers over the folks people. He persuades them to come closer, and begins his rapport with them, discussing their troubles and their woes, as the night grows darker.
The following day, Hyperion is stood on the edge of town, about to depart on his adventure to conquer the evil ahead when he is approached by two females, dressed as warriors but with the demeanor of seductresses. He ignores their advances, but they pledge him to listen.
My apologies, but time is against us. I must be on my way.
The two ladies speak as one, both voices simultaneous. They soothe him with their words, sounding almost melodic.
Hyperion, great Lord above...we offer you our hand in battle...you may take our sword, our spear...and we will fight alongside you.
You wish to join me? Hmm, the demon is unknown, you will be voyaging into completely darkness...do you wish for this still?
Please, Lord Hyperion...we would be honored to fight alongside you…
...I do not need the assistance, but the companionship might make the journey more tolerable...tell me this, what are your names?
Again, speaking in unison.
We are...GotoGrace.
GotoGrace? I've heard the name before, twin swords that work in unison...correct?
Yes, Lord Hyperion.
Interesting...then please, lead me towards the demon.
With the two new female warriors leading the way, Hyperion takes in his surroundings, breathing in deep the air and smell of earth. Rarely does he step foot below the heavens, and at times like this he savours the world below. The Gemini-warriors lead him towards another mountain in the distance, one known to him from before...Mouth Thom. Known to house raiders and bandits, Hyperion makes himself aware that danger make lurk on the horizon.
BEEP...BEEP...BEEP…
That sound, it plagues me. Following me...but what could it be-
Voices interrupt his thoughts, booming through the skies. As loud as thunder, trembling the air around him. A deep, formidable male voice accompanied by a lighter, more feminine voice.
By the Gods! What was that!
The Gemini-warriors turn back to Hyperion, confused.
Lord Hyperion, what concerns you?
Those voices, they boom through the skies...did you not hear them??
Looking form one to the other, the duo of GotoGrace seem lost.
Our Lord, the sound of the wind can sometimes play tricks...perhaps it was nothing more?
BEEP...BEEP...BEEP…
That sound again...um, yes. Perhaps that was nothing more than the wind. Perhaps the reach of this demon is closer than expected.
Continuing forth, the trio finally reach Mount Thom, and as predicted they are approached by a couple of bandits looking for trouble. Hyperion steps forward, trident at the ready.
Back, foul raiders. You will not approach much further.
The two men, looking rough and haggard, eye up the female warriors, and whisper between themselves. The bigger of the two takes a step forward…
Fancy stick you got yerself there...and nice shining armor too...what are you, one of the King’s men?
The raiders chuckle, not knowing who they deal with.
Either way, there is a toll to continue down this road, and that toll is...um, lets say those two ladies. Or that trident and armor. Your choice.
The raiders laugh and chuckle, again oblivious to whats in store.
Tell me, oh fine gentlemen, what names do you go by.
Names ain’t important round here so much...now, the toll…
If I am to make a decision, I at least would like a name.
The raiders laugh, and the smaller one steps forward this time.
Big golden balls on you, eh? He’s Raymond, and they call me Young. Now...the toll…
Hyperion laughs, simply not worried about the two raiders.
Two worn out raiders dare challenge a God? How foolish a move you ma-
From behind him, the shuffle of feet and iron, as the two female warriors suddenly rush Hyperion from behind, thrusting sword and spear forward. Artfully sidestepping and deflecting with his trident, Hyperion counters and gets into a superior position. Raymond speaks out.
Dammit girls, how many times have we gone over this! Only attack when I say so!
So, the jig is up, this has all been an elaborate ruse...very well then, show my what you are made of.
With that, GotoGrace attack Hyperion again, as Raymond and Young attack from his side. Defending carefully with his trident, deflecting blow after blow, he mounts a counter attacks and lunges forward with his trident and manages to pierce the skin of Young, mortally injuring him. GotoGrace advance closer and closer, their fighting truly in sync...which is their biggest error as Hyperion forecasts the next move and swipes sideways, decapitating both ladies at once. Last surviving attacker is Raymond, who attacks relentlessly, but receives a trident to the abdomen. He falls backwards, onto his side and bleeds out.
You…*cough*...you truly are a God…
I only wish you had known prior to losing your life.
I cant…*splutter*...breathe…
Hyperion grabs Raymond’s chest garment in a fist, and pulls him close to his face.
What else lies in store on my journey? What other traps have you set for me?
Raymond laughs, weakly. Blood drools out of his mouth.
Oh..*wheeze*...you’ll see...say hello...to Kanyon for me…
Kanyon? Who is this Kanyon? Speak up, I demand answers!
But they do not come, for Raymond has died. Hyperion tosses him aside angrily, picks up his trident and matches forward. He follows the path forward and continues on that way endlessly for what seems like days. As the sun sets for the second time on his adventure, the sound of a crackling whip echoes through the air, and alarms him. Seeing a conflict on the horizon, Hyperion quickly rushes forward, but approaches something he’s not seen before...a behemoth, gigantic beast of a man. Twenty feet tall, features drawn out and exaggerated, with long tufts of matter head sprouting from his head. In his hand something catches Hyperion's eye...gold. An entire carriage of gold.
What in the name...curse the Heavens for allowing such an abomination to rise from Hell!
Attacking the behemoth are three warriors, all using bows arrows or staves to keep the beats at reach, but the attacks are proving useless. Hyperion rushes forward to assist.
What manner of creature is this!
One of the warriors spins around, staring at Hyperion. He looks out of place in his golden armor, seeing as this behemoth is attacking three farmhands.
You, staring at me, what creature is this??
T-thats...t-thats the b-beast called K-K-Kanyon….w-who are you?
Hyperion.
L-like, the King? The Titan? Oh fuck, well good that you’re here! K-Kanyon is tearing us apart! It’s just us left now! That’s Jackson, he’s Price and I’m Arnold.
Names matter not to me, right now our focus should be on stopping this beast! What has caused him to become berserk like this?
...g-gold. We tried to take his g-gold...and he doesn’t like that.
Indeed...perhaps I can assist, mount an attack from the side...continue your onslaught and I’ll take up another angle.
The farmhands of Arnold, Price and Jackson continue to kite the beast, shooting arrows at him and infuriating him even more. Hyperion runs around the fray to find a better position, looking to close the gap and source a weakness, when the booming voice returns, much clearer this time.

What in the heavens! Who are you! Show yourself, voice of the sky!
With his eyes off the prize, the distracted Hyperion does not see the lunging sweep of the behemoth arm, as Kanyon plows the horse carriage of gold right through him, sending him flying in a rain of golden coins and shards. The beast roars, thudding his giant foot on the floor.
THUD...BEEP...THUD...BEEP...THUD...BEEP…
Hyperion rolls over, alive but dazed. The attack would have crushed a normal man...but Hyperion is no mortal. Returning to his feet, he picks up his trident once more and attacks. The sound, that high pitched beep...it must be from the beast. Hyperion analysis the situation before striking...Kayon has killed Price, and Jackson lays bleeding upon the floor, his lower half missing. The last standing is Arnold, defiant to the end...but no man is a man for a boulder-sized fist, as it comes crashing down from above and destroys him. Hyperion gets one look at his face before the lights in his eyes fade, his mustache soaking up blood…
...foul beast, your carnage ends today. Feel the force of Hyperion!
Rushing forward, Hyperion side steps to avoid a huge rock tossed at him from Kanyon. He runs closer, and leaps into the air and Kanyon stomps the ground, hoping to stagger Hyperion with the tremors. As he nears him and is within striking distance, Hyperion jumps up to his knee, then into the air before lunging his Trident directly in through the ribs of the monster, and into his heart. Screaming, he stumbles backwards and blood gushes out, trying frantically to remove the weapon but is unable to. He drops the cart of gold, now almost empty. As the giant flails on the floor, dying, his fist pound the ground beneath Hyperion's feet…
THUD...BEEP...THUD...BEEP...THUD...BEEP…
To follow the beating thuds, the voices speak once more…

By the Gods, who dares goad me! Who dares hide in plain sight, throwing your voice. I am Hyperion, King of Titans! I demand you to appear!
But of course, nobody does. The voices in the sky seem to appear from nowhere, and boom across the lands. Hyperion, confused and angry now, seeks guidance, seeks answers...but he stands alone. Jackson, Price and Arnold fought valiantly, but lost to Kanyon in a bloody battle. His gold successfully defended against the plebs...but the beast could not match the prowess and fortitude of a God. Removing his trident from the ribcage of the monster, Hyperion summarizes the situation, before taking his leave. Warriors fought fearlessly, but only one can remain…
Following his original path, Hyperion returns to a road frequently used by traders and caravans, but finds it empty. Desolate. This long stretch of road reminds him of one he traveled before, but he can't quite remember it fully. Atop a steed as loud as thunder, racing faster than the wind blows and turning at speeds that distort the world around him...yes, Hyperion has traveled this road before but perhaps not in this lifetime? He thinks, ponders the back of his mind for memories…
~...American made Harley engine...Greek Gods MC...X*Crown….~
What does this all mean? What are these thoughts? These memories...but to be memories, means to be alive. And if I am not alive now, then...where am I!
Hyperion walks ahead, slowly and not paying attention to the road ahead. His mind wanders, this ideas, these ‘memories’ confuse him. He does not know their meaning, or what brings them on. Aimlessly, he walks forth, as day becomes night, night becomes day. The path circles, seeming to have no end and no beginning. He looks to the horizon, but only the sky. He looks behind me, and nothing but clouds.
Where have the mountains gone? Where is the fighting, the smoke from past battles? This road...how long have I been here? How long have I been travelling?
A pain stings his crown, and he feels something trickle down his face...blood.
But how? What caused this?

Show yourself...SHOW YOURSELF! I am Hyperion! King of Olympus, Titan of Heavenly Light! You do not mock me, you do not lead me astray...reveal yourself and fight!!
As if the Heavens have forgotten him to the lands of Hell, the sky darkens dramatically and the clouds burn a bright red color. A fissure rips open along the earth before him, bright searing heat comes whistling out. From behind him, clouds gather and culminated into a black shadow, crackling and hissing with lightning...and from within them comes forth a woman dressed all in white. She flows from the skies down to Hyperion, but on guard Hyperion positions his trident ready to strike. She speaks, her voice loud and booming, electrical and fierce.
Hyperion...I am Storm...you have traveled far enough...now is my time to finish you…
She raises her hands, with electricity flowing between them and shoots a bolt of lightning towards the Earth. Hyperion dodges it, but the ground is set alight. As he narrowly avoids these blasts, the fissure opens up even more and a giant demon emerges...the air around him becoming a dark as coal. His huge figure fully appears, his eyes burning like brimstone, glowing enough to reveal his figure...a mammoth sized bear, golden fleece surrounding him.
By the Gods...a bear of solid gold?! The demons of Hell have gone too far!
The bear roars, trembling the very earth Hyperion stands upon. It begins to run to Hyperion, snarling and exhaling smoke as it nears him. Behind him, the evil with Storm closes in with shrieks and flashes of lightning. She swipes at Hyperion, tossing electrical bolts his way but she cannot catch his speed. Pursued by a golden bear, and narrowly avoiding death by electrocution, Hyperion thinks quick on his feet and pauses.
Storm witch...to me! Show me your best!
She shrieks again, and sends a stream of lightning down to Hyperion...but he uses his trident to absorb the energy, and sends it right back at her! She takes it full force to the chest, and falls from the sky.
Success! Now to deliver the finishing bl-
Blindsided, the golden bear swipes at Hyperion with his massive paw and catches the God in full, soaring him through the air. He lands right beside Storm, crumbled up and unable to move.
My body...it...it feels cold...numb! I can’t...I can’t move!
The gold bear approaches Hyperion...but Storm rises first, crackling and hissing. With his attention turned, the golden bear demon snaps his powerful jaws...at Storm! He catches the witch in his teeth, piercing her flesh as she screams in agonized blood curling whelps. The bear decimates her, tossing her about and slamming her, killing her brutally. He tosses her corpse to the floor beneath him, his swollen purple member glowing against his golden fur. The blood lust has driven the beats wild, his eyes bulge with desire. He goes for another bite, but Storm moves...shes still alive! In one last ditch effort, she uses the wealth of her power to call in one last lightning strike, from the very sky itself...it shoots to the earth in a blinding spear, penetrating through the skull of the demon bear and Storm herself. The electrical surge volts through both monsters, frying them alive until the bear falls over...defeated. Storm lays beneath him, dead and crisp.
Paralyzed...broken...what fate I have received! To lay here amongst monsters...demons...but to survive, a cruel and terrible punishment...my body is destroyed, but my mind is strong…
His heart beats in his chest, strong. Heavy.
THUD...THUD...THUD...THUD...BEEP...THUD...BEEP...THUD...BEEP…
This cannot be my end...I cannot fight so valiantly, only to lay on the battlefield awaiting the sweet release of death…
BEEP...BEEP...BEEP…
Cruel Gods, you have forsaken me to this earth. You have left me fight and to die...you can reward me with a rebirth. Take this body, this vessel...and gift me eternal life in another time…
As if the heavens heard his plea, the darkness that once was starts to dissipate, allowing some light through. More and more flood though in patches, until one solid beam of light finds Hyperion on the floor, his body destroyed but his will as powerful as ever.
Gods, hear my call...I am Hyperion. King of Olympus, The Titan of Heavenly Light...you have doomed me to death on earth today...but this is not my time to sleep. My body is broken...grant me another so that I can once more live as a God…

In a sudden surge of power, Hyperion leaves his broken body, his spirit releasing from his prison below. He looks back, his golden hair flowing still, his pale skin faint in the morning light. His spirit ascends to the heavens, the clouds closing in around him causing a light fog until his vision is obscured and nothing pure pure white blankness fills his mind…
