{“The Enemy” by I Prevail begins to play as a video package rolls highlighting the members of the Combat Roster, before we cut to a studio where we see both Shea O’Hara and Rob Diamond sitting at a table.}
Rob Diamond: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to FRIDAY NIGHT FURY!
Shea O’Hara: Boy do we have a show in store for you tonight as we kick off both our Heavyweight tournaments to find our first ever Combat champions!
Rob Diamond: That’s right Shea. We’ve got a metric…..ton, of action in store tonight and we start off with the experienced Muru against the new boy Rudolph Samson.
Shea O’Hara: It’s funny calling someone new two weeks into Combats history, but Muru is an experienced veteran and it showed in our opening match.
Rob Diamond: That’s true, Rudolph had a quick early blast of offence but he slipped up in giving Muru too much time to recover, a rookie mistake and Muru took advantage of that.
Shea O’Hara: Let’s check out how it went down!
{Rudolph is on the floor holding his mouth, surprised and the retaliation from Muru. He rises to his feet and charges like a bull at Muru swinging wildly with a lariat, but Muru ducks underneath he hits the ropes opposite and comes back with a huge Knee to Nose basis taking Samson down! The crowd pop huge for Muru as he heads towards the top rope Rudolph staggers to his feet and charges the corner, but Muru jumps off, pushing Samson into the corner by planting his feet onto the back of Samson and then rolling through on the floor, he turns around in a fluid motion and charges MURU SPLASH!!! Samson is dazed and staggers, before Muru rolls him up for the pin….ONE! …..TWO! …..THREE!!!}
Shea O’Hara: And just like that Muru advances in the Heavyweight Championship tournament!
Rob Diamond: It was a great display by the veteran exposing some weaknesses and getting that one step closer to the championship.
Shea O’Hara: But we don’t stop there, no! The action comes quick and fast here in Combat and we got right into the mix with Taane and Lucas Walker.
Rob Diamond: These two went back and forth so much that it looked like it was anyones game at any given moment.
Shea O’Hara: That’s right Rob. Neither man managed to stay on top for long, as the oither would turn the tables. It was truly a pleasure to watch.
Rob Diamond: After some near falls by both competitors it seemed almost like this was destined to be a draw, but we wanted to get ourselves a winner….let’s check it out.
{We cut to the ring where both Lucas and Taane are in their seperate corners, both breathing deeply from the extensive show they’ve already put on. The crowd are on their feet, showing their appreciation for these stars. The two men nod to each other, again appreciating each others strengths, ability, and endurance. They begin to circle each other and lock up once more. Lucas gains the advantage due to his sheer size, he slips around the back and locks in the SNARE TRAP! The crowd go nuts as Walker locks the hold in. Taane flails his arms wildly, trying to prevent the hold from being locked in, but he just cannot stop it.}
Shea O’Hara: Lucas Walker has got the Snare Trap locked in, this could be it!
Rob Diamond: These two men have put on an absolute clinic here tonight, and it could be about to end!
{Lucas tries to wrench the hold, pulling Taane down ontop of him. The Polynesian Prodigy is flailing, trying to reach for the ropes, when instead of that he suddenly leans all the way backwards. The referee slides in and begins to count the fall on Lucas…..ONE! …...TWO! ….THRE-NO! Lucas kicks out, and in doing so releases the hold on Taane. Both men lay there for a moment catching their breath.}
Rob Diamond: Great awareness by Taane there going for the cover, because he knew he couldn’t get out of the hold.
Shea O’Hara: It’s just a testament to these two superstars right now.
{Both men begin to pull themselves up to their feet, the crowd are roaring with approval. Just as they seem ready to go once more the bell is suddenyl rung. They both look confused at each other, and then the referee who is conferring with the time keeper. He motions to both of them, and then to his watch.}
Rob Diamond: It’s a draw!?
Shea O’Hara: They went to the time limit. What an insane situation this is! Who advances? Who doesn’t!?
Rob Diamond: My buddy Spike is going to have some situations to resolve here.
{Lucas and Taane look a little disappointed that neither man won, but they both nod their heads as the crowd give them a standing ovation. They walk to the middle of the ring, and they shake hands before we cut back to Rob and Shea.}
Rob Diamond: Fooled you.
Shea O’Hara: A truly outstanding match from Lucas Walker and Taane, but who advances? We’d have to find out later that night.
Rob Diamond: But first we had our first womens match of the night, pitting Amber Cooke against Caitlyn Wright.
Shea O’Hara: Amber wasn’t too happy about the loss last week and her frustration showed not just in her promo but in the early going of the match. She took it to Caitlyn hard and barely gave her any room to recover.
Rob Diamond: It looked like Amber had the match won when Caitlyn countered with the Shoryuken and really turned the match on it’s head.
Shea O’Hara: The sequence that followed led to a truly tremendous ending.
{In the ring Caitlyn is on one knee, having just knocked Amber down with the Shoryuken. She breaths deep, before looking out at the crowd who are cheering for her. She backs off and waits for Amber to start getting to her feet, before she springs to action and hits the FATALITY ON AMBER!!! The crowd go nuts as Caitlyn rolls Amber over for the cover, the referee slides in for the cover…..ONE! …...TWO! …...THREE!!! Caitlyn pops up to here feet and begins to celebrate.}
Rob Diamond: What!? What a comeback!
Shea O’Hara: No wait, look, the referee is waving it off.
Rob Diamond: AMBER GOT HER FOOT ON THE ROPES!
{Caitlyn is still bouncing with joy, as the referee tries to explain to her what happened. Behind her Amber is slowly, groggily getting back to her feet. Caitlyn turns around shocked at the referees revelation, but when she turns to Amber, she gets blasted in the face with the BLASTWAVE SUPERKICK!!! The crowd boo, but Amber smirks as she staggers backwards and leans on the ropes, she screams at Caitlyn to get up, and as Caitlyn starts to scramble to all fours Amber jumps in and hits her with the BOUNCING BETTY!!! She covers, ONE! …..TWO! …...THREE!!! The referee calls for the bell and “War Eternal” by Arch Enemy plays over the PA system. Amber looks down at Caitlyn and just smirks, before we cut back to the studio.}
Rob Diamond: What an ending.
Shea O’Hara: The match seemed all but won, but Amber’s cleverness prevailed.
Rob Diamond: The women set the tone there, and up next we were scheduled to see Hungry Jack take on Spike Kane…..
{Inside the ring Hungry Jack paces back and forth awaiting his opponent, the owner of Combat Spike Kane. “Crushed” by Parkway Drive begins to play and as Spike walks out the crowd go absolutely mental. Spike absorbs the cheers and roars from the crowd when suddenly the reaction changes as Killian Kold comes out from the back with a two by four wrapped in barbed wire. He clocks Spike in the back of the head and the God of Xtreme stumbles forwards on the ramp. Killian doesn’t even waste a second as he begins to slam the weapon into Spike over, and over, and over again. After a few shots Killian drags Spike onto the stage and places the two by four infront of Spike, locking him in a camel clutch with the barbed wire digging into his face. In the ring Hungry Jack doesn’t quite know what to do, he’s asking the ref, who is as stunned as he is. Killian releases the hold, and pushes Spike down into the ground, laughing maniacally as blood pours from Spike’s head. We then cut back to the stuido.}
Shea O’Hara: What a sick individual.
Rob Diamond: Kold certainly got his point across to Spike, after Spike got in his face last week
Shea O’Hara: However we got some clarification from two of the ladies who help run this place.
{We cut to an office where both Pandora Freeman and Astrid Hall are standing in front of a desk. They both look fairly angry, but are trying to keep things professional.}
Pandora Freeman: Greetings Combat. Due to the actions of Killian Kold we can confirm that Hungry Jack will advance in the Heavyweight Tournament.
Astrid Hall: Despite our advice Spike wishes not to punish Killian Kold, so his match will go along as scheduled.
Pandora Freeman: Tonights earlier draw between Taane and Lucas Walker means that both men will remain in the tournament.
Astrid Hall: As well as some second chance matches next week, there will also be one or two new competitors entering the tournament.
Pandora Freeman: Thank you for your attention. As Spike Kane is being sent to a local medical facilitiy if you have any issues please address them to ourselves.
Astrid Hall: Goodnight Combat, enjoy the rest of the show.
{Back on Shea and Rob now, as Rob shakes his head.}
Rob Diamond: Kold doesn’t deserve to be in this tournament.
Shea O’Hara: I agree with you Rob, but it isn’t our decision to make.
Rob Diamond: But Spike understands, the show must go on! And on we go, where we see Dawn Kane-
Shea O’Hara: -Halliwell!
Rob Diamond: sure….against Lizzy Dalmon who picked up a cheeky victory last week. The two of them had a point to prove here tonight, and they both came out like a house on fire.
Shea O’Hara: Lizzy determined to prove herself took the fury and fire from Dawn early on, but after a kick to the nether regions that the referee missed, Lizzy looked on top for a good while.
{In the ring we see Dawn doubled over as Lizzy grabs her by the hair. The referee tells her to let go, but Lizzy shouts at the referee to shut up. Lizzy lifts Dawn up to her feet and goes for the PLASTIC SURGERY! BUT DAWN GRABS THE ROPES! Lizzy lands on her back and an audible “oophf” can be heard, Dawn breaths deep as she holds onto the ropes.}
Shea O’Hara: It looked like Lizzy had Dawn there, but her ring awareness paid dividends.
Rob Diamond: Dawn is a legitimate second generation superstar, wrestling is ni her blood.
Shea O’Hara: You’re never gonna let that go are you?
{Inside the ring Dawn takes only a moment to get her breath back before she presses her advantage. She launches herself with the Renegade standing moonsault, before rolling through into the LIVING DEAD GIRL!!! Lizzy screams and flails trying to reach the ropes, but Dawn pulls the hold in tigheter, screaming at Lizzy to tap. To her credit, Lizzy doesn’t tap. She tries once more to reach for the ropes, but her arm goes limp. The referee lifts it, and it drops. One more time, and it drops, the final time…….it drops! The referee calls for the bell and Dawn releases the hold. She jumps up and throws her arms into the air as the referee checks on Lizzy Dalmon.}
Rob Diamond: Credit to Lizzy for refusing to tap out.
Shea O’Hara: Or, y’know stupidity.
Rob Diamond: But Dawn K-
Shea O’Hara: HALLIWELL!
Rob Diamond: Advances!
Shea O’Hara: Up next we saw the winner of our first Main Event in Ethan King take on HardKore.
Rob Diamond: In what was a pretty one sided match, King dominated. HardKore had a flurry of offence, but King took the wind out of his sails with a Final Tilt clothesline.
Shea O’Hara: From there on, it was all but done.
{HardKore seems all but out in the middle of the ring as King simply smiles, soaking in the boos from the local crowd. He raises his arm and cloeses his eyes as he lets the crowds reaction wash over him. With a smirk he gives HardKore a little kick to the head, before dragging him up and in one swift motion delivering the Bend the Knee before turning him over and placing one hand on HardKores chest, while leaning his elbow on the mat and his face on his knuckles, almost looking bored. The referee counts…..ONE! …..TWO! …..THREE!!! “Hail to the King” plays over the PA as Ethan gets to his feet and dusts his hands off.}
Rob Diamond: An academic victory by Ethan King there, he’s really starting to make a name for himself. He might even be my pick to win this whole thing!
Shea O’Hara: He’s certainly making a name for himself here in Combat, and picks up two vitories on the bounce advancing in the tournament.
Rob Diamond: Our next match pitted two former allies and best friends against each other. After last weeks contraversial ending to the tag match ,it only seemed fitting.
Shea O’Hara: That’s right Rob. Both Zelda and Crystal had huge success in nCw and some in IWF too before coming to Combat. They’d been best friends for quite some time, but Crystal was determined not to be outshone by Zelda anymore, and that perhaps, is what led to the miscommunication last week.
Rob Diamond: Regardless the match started off fairly light, with each lady trying to show their technical skill, but a huge slap from Crystal to Zelda really upped the ante of the match.
Shea O’Hara: you bet it did! Zelda stepped up her game and really came at Crystal but a Flashing Lights kick from Crystal turned the match on it’s head.
Shea O’Hara: Let’s go to the ring where we can see what went down.
{Crystal is screaming at Zelda that it is “her time now!” as the nCw legend slowly pulls herself up using the ropes. She turns around and sends a huge slap across the face of Crystal causing the crowd to react. They begin to chant “ZEL-DA! ZEL-DA!” but as Zelda launches with a lariat, Crystal bends backwards ducking underneath, and as Zelda turns around Crystal hits her with the THAT’S A WRAP!!! The crowd boo wildly at Crystal who smirks as she then climps the top ropes….pointing at Zelda….she flies and hits the LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! Crystal remains on top of Zelda, flopping for the cover….ONE! ….TWO! …..THREE!!! CRYSTAL FINALLY BEATS ZELDA!!!!}
Shea O’Hara: Crystal will hold onto that victory for some time.
Rob Diamond: Anyone would, and should, be proud of a victory over Zelda Knite.
Shea O’Hara: Which of course brings us to our main event of the night, where due to Spike Kane’s orders we saw Killian Kold take on both Satoshi Tenryu and Waylon Stokes in a handicap match.
Rob Diamond: Kold really went out of his way to try and hurt both Tenryu and Stokes, as if to send a message to Spike Kane. However with the added stipulation of only the person who pinned or submitted Kold advancing? It certainly threw some wrenches in the plans. After a huge back and forth match it looked like Satoshi had the match won, when Stokes’ manager Rose Tilman pulled Satoshi out of the ring!
Shea O’Hara: From there the action really devolved and things fell to pieces.
{Tenryu is outside shouting at Rose, pointing to the ring and Killian Kold - who is slowly starting to rouse after recovering from the Penalty Kick. At this point Stokes walks over on the apron and sends a kick to Satoshi, but Tenryu grabs the leg of Stokes and powerbombs him onto the apron! Tenryu then begins to climb onto the apron, but Kold hits him with a spear through the ropes, sending Satoshi hard to the mat, while Kold leans through the ropes grinning.}
Rob Diamond: They’re supposed to work together!
Shea O’Hara: Killian Kold has seriously taken advantage of this disruption here.
{Kold drags Stokes through the ropes and with a cold, calculated look at the hard camera he lifts up he lifts up Stokes and throws him into the turnbuckle with a Buckle Bomb, but as Stokes dazed, hurt, staggers out of the corner, he hits him with a THUNDERSTRUCK!?!?! Kold cracks his neck as he leans back for the cover…..ONE! …..TWO! …...THREE!!! Satoshi was halfway in the ring, before the three count. He slams the mat hard and turns to glare at Rose, before shaking his head and walking up the ramp. In the ring, Killian is on his knees, laughing as he extends his arms.}
Shea O’Hara: Killian Kold, who really shouldn’t be in this match advances.
Rob Diamond: Due to miscommunication, he took advantage and prevails. Overcoming the obstacle that Spike put in his path. Killian could go all the way!
Shea O’Hara: I thought King was your pick?
Rob Diamond: I think it’s between the two of them!
Shea O’Hara: Either way, that’s all we have time for tonight. Thank you for joining us, and tune in next week as championship season rolls on!
