{“The Enemy” by I Prevail begins to play as a video package rolls highlighting the members of the Combat Roster, before we cut to a studio where we see both Shea O’Hara and Rob Diamond sitting at a table.}
Shea O’Hara: Welcome ladies and gentlemen once again, to FRIDAY NIGHT FURY!
{The camera shows the crowd cheering on their feet on the screen behind the two, with chants of “COM-BAT! COM-BAT!” ringing through the arena.}
Rob Diamond: That’s right combatants, it’s time for another amazing week of action.
Shea O’Hara: Before we get down to it, we at Combat would just like to take a moment to remember the victims of the parkland school shooting. Our thoughts, and our prayers go out to them and their families.
Rob Diamond: From all of us here, we are deeply saddened and hope that if anything, tonights action may offer a slight reprieve for the world.
Shea O’Hara: That’s right Rob, every competitor tonight is wearing a black armband to remember the loss, and tonight we’re going to kick off the action with two women who never thought they’d be in the situation they are in.
Rob Diamond: Zelda and Caitlyn both expected to breeze through last week, but yet they both suffered defeats, shocks as they may be and now they find themselves in the Last Chance Saloon.
Shea O’Hara: The two women had such a great competitive match, going back and forth. It was almost like watching the future and the present happening right in that ring. The veteran showed her ability and ring awareness after taking the Gamma Bomb from Caitlyn and then being locked into the Chains of Olympus, but the former nCw Champion managed to get her foot on the ropes and break the hold.
Rob Diamond: After that Zelda managed an impressive comeback, but Caitlyn zeroed in on the knee of Zelda and took advantage going into the end of the match.
{Zelda is using the ropes to pull herself up, but Caitlyn kicks her in the knee and Zelda drops to the one knee before Caitlyn quickly drops her with a DDT. She immediately goes for the cover but Zelda kicks out just after the referee gets to two.}
Rob Diamond: These women have put on a match of the night calibre match right here.
Shea O’Hara: You can see how much this match means to both women, Caitlyn knows how dangerous Zelda can be, and she’s trying to capitalize on an opening.
{Caitlyn is a little frustrated that Zelda won’t stay down. She shakes her head in disbelief as she drags Zelda to her feet. She takes a deep breath and lifts Zelda up onto her shoulders, she turns to face the camera and with a look on determination on her face she lifts Zelda and goes for the Oncoming Storm! -BUT ZELDA LANDS ON HER FEET! She spins Caitlyn around and….KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND!}
Rob Diamond: Did she just!?
Shea O’Hara: Impressive athleticism there by Zelda!
{Zelda slumps for the cover and the referee slides in…...ONE! …..TWO! …..THREE! He calls for the bell and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by One OK Rock plays over the sound system. Zelda limps a little to her feet as the referee holds her hand up. After a few moments Caitlyn begins to stir, she looks up and sees Zelda celebrating and slumps a little, but Zelda offers her a hand. She pulls Caitlyn up and the two of them share a brief hug before Caitlyn lifts Zelda’s arm into the air, and we cut back to the studio.}
Shea O’Hara: An amazing display of class there from both women. Something, we haven’t really seen here in Combat yet.
Rob Diamond: Boy are you right there Shea! It’s mostly been people kicking the crap out of each other, and threatening the boss!
Shea O’Hara: The action didn’t stop there though as we picked right up with a five man over the top battle royal!
Rob Diamond: Spike Kane gave three men a second chance and put two late entrants in Aiden Reynolds and Todd Williams a chance in the Heavyweight Title tournament.
Shea O’Hara: The action began at a breakneck speed with all five men in the ring. Satoshi Tenryu got right into the mix and sent HardKore over the top rope with a sickening enziguri kick.
Rob Diamond: The japanese superstar was involved quite heavily before Todd Williams hit a back body drop on Rudolph Samson all the way to the outside.
Shea O’Hara: Almost at the exact same time Aiden Reynolds lifted Weylon Stokes over the ropes with a modified Gold Coast Cutter taking him out of the ring.
Rob Diamond: The final three had a stand off before fists and kicks were flying like wild fire. Satoshi brought the game hard, delivering some high impact moves before both Aiden and Todd teamed up on him and took him out of the ring with a double clothesline.
Shea O’Hara: Which left only Aiden and Todd, with the prize being the next round of the Heavyweight tournament.
{Both men are leaning on the ropes as Satoshi Tenryu slams the outside in frustration. He shakes his head and walks off up the ramp. The crowd are cheering the two men in the ring, and it slowly begins to dawn on them. Todd looks up and smiles broadly, nodding to Aiden, who smiles back before sending a quick knee to Todd Williams. He whips Todd off the ropes and leaps over him, heading to the ropes himself before springboarding backwards into a moonsault DDT! The crowd roar for the action in the ring, as Aiden, on one knee, throws his arms out and soaks in the adulation.}
Rob Diamond: He’s got skill, but he’s got a pretty big head.
Shea O’Hara: He’s toured the world and now wants to make it big. In his mind, he deserves all of this from the crowd.
{Aiden now has a smirk on his face as he lifts Todd to his feet, before scooping him up onto his shoulders. He takes a step or two towards the ropes, his intentions clear to eliminate Todd the same way he did Welyon earlier in the match, but as he goes to shift the weight of Todd, Todd grabs onto the ropes! Aiden tries once more, but Todd rains down elbows onto the head of Aiden Reynolds. The crowd are going nuts as the two teeter near the riopes, before with a shift of his agility Todd slides off of Aiden’s back.}
Rob Diamond: This could be it! TODD MEANS BUSINESS!
{As Aiden turns groggy from the elbow drops Todd skips forwards and slams his foot into Aidens face with a Superkick! The Australian Nightmare staggers into the ropes and almost over them, but Todd doesn’t give him a chance to revocer and runs forwards charging Aiden down with a clothesline sending him over the ropes and to the floor! Todd drops to his knees right away as the bell rings and “Be Somebody” by Thousand Foot Krutch blasts through the arena. Todd is clearly emotional as the referee holds his arm up and the crowd chant his name as a mark of respect, before, once more, we cut to the studio.}
Shea O’Hara: An impressive debut showing by Todd Williams there-
Rob Diamond: HE MEANS BUSINESS!
Shea O’Hara: That he does, and the showing from Aiden Reynolds should not be undersold either. There are clearly great things in the future for this young man.
Rob Diamond: Definitely. He’s talented, he’s got style, and he knows it too.
Shea O’Hara: Before we got onto the next match we received word from backstage that it had been made a no disqualification match!
Rob Diamond: You see, I don’t really get it. Everything Spike seems to be doing to try and punish Killian Kold, just puts the ball in his court. Hungry Jack is a competent wrestler, but No DQ just fits Killian far too much.
Shea O’Hara: And even though Jack came to the ring ready for the match, Killian didn’t waste anytime. He came out with a shopping cart full of weapons and made his intentions known!
Rob Diamond: Hungry Jack screamed at the referee to call for the bell as Killian began to unload weapons into the ring, and once he did!?
Shea O’Hara: The Prince of Plus Size put the pedal to the metal and dove through the ropes colliding with Killian Kold with a brutal amount of impact, sending both men and the shopping cart flying.
Rob Diamond: Unfortunately the move seemed to take more out of Jack than it did Killian, and the monster soon began to lay into Jack with whatever he could find. A two by four, a trash can, even a garden hose, which he used to try and choke Jack out.
Shea O’Hara: Eventually the action moved back into the ring where Jack managed a valiant comeback and began to use his size to his advantage, almost seeming to try and squash the life out of Killian.
Rob Diamond: Both men have been all but unstoppable in our short time here, and they threw everything they could at each other. It almost looked like Jack had the match done when he caught Kold off guard with the Dinner is Served, but somehow, some way, Killian kicked out.
Shea O’Hara: The two would then go back to war…
{Kold is slowly crawling away as Jack pleads with the referee that it was a three, but the referee is having none of it. Jack doesn’t want to lose the momentum however, and quickly goes after Kold, dragging him to his feet. He whips Kold off the ropes and goes for a big boot, but Kold slides under the big man and as he turns around Killian sends a swift kick to the family jewels. The crowd all “ooh” as Jack holds his privates before dropping to his knees.}
Shea O’Hara: Oh come on, that was just uncalled for.
Rob Diamond: No disqualification Shea, I told you it fed into his wheelhouse!
{Kold holds Jack’s head in one hand and screams something about “Daddy Spike” at him before slapping him hard across the face. The crowd again “ooh” in response, but Kold grabs his head once more and slaps him clean across the face….Jack wobbles, barely able to keep himself up. Killian looks around and brings a steel chair into things. He raises it high above his head, still screaming at Hungry Jack, before a roar comes from Jack as he rises to his feet and grabs Killian by the throat, he lifts him for the Dinner is Served but Kold cracks the steel chair over the head of Jack! Jack drops down as blood begins to pour from his head, Killian drops the chair and hooks him up before delivering the Kold Killer onto the steel chair! The referee counts the cover…..ONE! …..TWO! …..THREE!}
Rob Diamond: Killian, who in my opinion should have been kicked out of this tournament advances!
Shea O’Hara: He….he isn’t finished!
{Killian takes his time, picking up the the two by four wrapped in barbed wire. He heads over to Jack and rolls him over, locking him in the camel clutch with the two by four in front just like he did to Spike last week. The crowd are booing as the referee tries to get Kold off, blood is pouring down Jack’s face. Suddenly the crowd erupts as on the stage with a plaster on his forehead emerges Spike Kane. Spike is shouting for Kold to let Jack go, but Kold just laughs. Spike breaks into a sprint and Kold immediately lets go of Hungry Jack. Killian waits arms outstretched as Spike hits the ring, but just as he does Kold drops to the mat and rolls out of the ring, laughing as he does. He points to his head and says “not today” before laughing as he begins to walk back up the ramp, never taking his eyes off of Spike. Spike is torn between going after him and checking on Jack, after a few moments he joins the referee in checking on Hungry Jack as Killian Kold stands on the ramp laughing at the carnage.}
Shea O’Hara: Another absolutely brutal display by Killian Kold.
Rob Diamond: You know, I think I can see why Spike kicked him out of his school.
Shea O’Hara: A move that, mayhaps, has backfired.
Rob Diamond: You could say that again. Regardless, Friday Night Fury rolls on, and next up we have two new ladies pittet against each other in a “Late Entry Match”.
Shea O’Hara: We saw the wife of the quickly rising Etahn King - Gwen Price-King take on a newcomer to this business in Kimberley Williams.
Rob Diamond: For a rookie Kimberley did more than hold up her own, and on several occasians nearly stole the victory with some roll ups catching Gwen off guard.
Shea O’Hara: However, Gwen rode out the early storm and brought the pain late on…
{Inside the ring Gwen has Kim on one knee, as she wrenches her arm. She wrenches even further and Kimberley flips fowards to try and get out of it, but as she does Gwen pulls her in for a devastating short arm clothesline. Kimberley lays on the mat breathing deeply as Gwen rests on her knees. She sneers down at Kimberley before rising to her feet. She shouts at Kimberley to get up, while motioning the “belt” motion around her waist, clearly her intentions are clear.}
Shea O’Hara: The Queen is showing that she’s coming for that belt!
Rob Diamond: She certainly is building some momentum here!
{Gwen stalks Kimberley and lifts her up onto her shoulders, she goes for the Disciple of Discipline but Kimberley reverses it into a float over DDT-NO! Kimberley holds onto her and with a raw strength lifts her back onto her shoulders….AND HITS THE DISCIPLE OF DISCIPLINE!!! She rolls through for the cover…..ONE! ….TWO! ….THREE!!! The bell rings and the referee raises her hand, but she pulls it away and raises her own, giving off a royal wave as she does, smirk on her face.}
Rob Diamond: A tough break for Kimberley in an impressive debut.
Shea O’Hara: However it wasn’t enough to topple the Queen as she makes hers, and advances in the Womens Heavyweight tournament.
Rob Diamond: Which brings us to a second round match up, featuring Taane and Ethan King. Both of these men have seriously impressed so far in Combats short timsepan. Taane can go in the ring, and really has the fans behind him, and King? Well, he’s proven that he is willing to take any route to get to the top, and who can blame him?
Shea O’Hara: I know a few who might….besides, both men have a ton of respect from the crowd, even Ethan King going into this match. It’s one many though could be the final.
Rob Diamond: The athleticism of Taane was clearly on display in this match, as was the technical skill of Ethan King.
Shea O’Hara: The two went back and forth throughout this match. Whenever one seemed to gain the advantage the momentum would switch so quickly, like a pendulum.
{Both men are breathing deep, but as King staggers into the middle of the ring Taane pounces with the RUGBY TACKLE!! However! Ethan side steps and Taane instead collides with the referee!!!! The crowd are in shock as Taane looks down at the ref, trying to apologise and make sure he’s okay. While his back is turned Ethan heads to his corner and slides the brass knuckles onto his fist! He raises them high and stalks Taane!}
Shea O’Hara: No Taane! Lookout!
Rob Diamond: So much for being impartial?
Shea O’Hara: He’s going to cheat!
{As Taane climbs to his feet, he turns around just as Ethan King goes for the Brazen Equalizer but Taane ducks! He hooks Ethan and hits the KIA MATE!!! He rolls through, hitting it with perfection, and as he does the brass knuckles come flying off Ethans hand an out to ringside. Taane rolls to the cover, the crowd shout….ONE…...TWO…...THREE…...FOUR…….FIVE…...SIX. After the six, Taane drops the leg and shakes his head. He gets to his feet and begins to rouse the referee, who is slowly using the turnbuckle to climb to his feet. King staggers to his own, he turns Taane around and KICKS HIM STRAIGHT IN THE CROWN JEWELS! The referee had his back to the action and didn’t see, King doesn’t hesitate as he hits Taane with the BEND THE KNEE! He covers, and the ref turns slowly counting…..ONE! …….TWO! ……...THREE!!! He calls for the bell as he holds his abdomen. King rises to his feet, a shit eating grin on his face as “Hail to the King” by Avenged Sevenfold plays over the sound system.}
Shea O’Hara: Something has to be done about Ethan King!
Rob Diamond: The King of Combat advances!
Shea O’Hara: Taane deserved more than that, he really did.
Rob Diamond: In those rules we’d have a much different landscape in the broad strokes of wrestling Shea.
Shea O’Hara: Speaking of broad strokes we got into a three way match up with the winn-
Rob Diamond: Actually we received message before this match that the loser would be out of the tournament, but the other two ladies would advance.
Shea O’Hara: That’s right. Dawn Halliwell, Amber Cooke, and Crystal Hilton all went to town on each other, and there was no love lost between these women.
Rob Diamond: You could say that again, these women brought their all, and just when it looked like it was over? The third wheel would make itself known.
Shea O’Hara: It was such a fantastic match, it was an absolute pleasure to call….it just made me happy to be able to see it.
Rob Diamond: Here’s how it went down…
{Crystal is pulling herself up by the turnbuckle, as Dawn recovers on the outside. Crystal turns around and hits Amber with a kick to the head, but Amber pushes through! She sends a stiff shot to the knee of Crystal forcing her to all fours. Amber hits the ropes and comes back with the BOUNCING BETTY! The crowd pop pretty loud as Amber rolls the leg for the cover. ONE! …..TWO! ….THREE-NO!!! Dawn pulls Amber out of the ring!}
Shea O’Hara: I thought it was over!
Rob Diamond: I never want this match to end, and neither do these fans!
{Dawn pulls Amber out and hits the SYMPHONY OF DESTRUCTION! Without skipping a beat Dawn rolls into the ring and grabs Crystal who is a little worse for wear. She drops to the mat and locks in the LIVING DEAD GIRL!!!! Crystal screams and kicks, frantically trying to get to the ropes, but she just can’t. On the outside Amber is slowly pulling herself up, the screams of Crystal seemingly waking her. She climbs and tries to get into the ring, but before she can…..Crystal taps out! The referee calls for the bell and Dawn releases the hold, bouncing away and leaning on the bottom rope, as she locks eyes with Amber, and smirks.}
Rob Diamond: Dawn Kane advances!
Shea O’Hara: For the last time Robert! It’s Halliwell!
Rob Diamond: Hey, nobody calls me Robert.
Shea O’Hara: Well then use her proper name!
Rob Diamond: Okay fine, until SHE admits it, I won’t call her that.
Shea O’Hara: Moving swiftly on, we come to the main event of the night, which pits “The Backwoods Brawler” Lucas Walker against “The Greatest Show on Earth” Muru!
Rob Diamond: These guys have been impressive so far in Combat, and last week Lucas surprised a lot of people by fighting to a time limit draw with Taane. He sure earned a lot of respect from the boys in the back, as well as the crowd that night.
Shea O’Hara: But this is another night, and though Lucas came out like a house on fire, the rookie had to take a real onslaught from the veteran in Muru!
Rob Diamond: It’s a match that could swing either way, and both guys really want to earn that Heavyweight Championship.
Shea O’Hara: Here’s how it went down…
{The referee is counting as both men are down, the crowd are on their feet cheering, willing the men to get up. They don’t want another draw for Lucas, they want a finish! Both men get back to their feet, to a round of applause from the crowd, just as the referee gets to nine. From across the ring Lucas storms going for the Hunters Mark! BUT MURU LEAPS INTO THE AIR! He connects with Lucas Walker and hits the KNEE TO NOSE BASIS!!!}
Rob Diamond: What agility from Muru!
Shea O’Hara: Holy moly he got some height on that!
{Lucas looks like he’s seeing stars as Muru climbs to his feet. He looks down at Lucas, and then to the turnbuckle. The crowd are roaring, cheering, urging him onwards. Muru heads to the turnbuckle and climbs up, he points to Lucas on the ground and LEAPS THROUGH THE AIR WITH THE MURU SPLASH! Walker takes the impact and the wind is driven out of him as Muru stays on top for the cover, the referee slides in…..ONE! …...TWO! …...THREE!!! The bell rings and “Handshakes to fist fights” by Devour the Day blasts from the PA system. The crowd are on their feet as the referee holds Muru’s hand in the air.}
Rob Diamond: What an ending, what a show!
Shea O’Hara: Another Friday Night Fury is in the books, and we’re whittling down the contenders for our first championships!
Rob Diamond: Be sure to tune in next week as we find out who our finalist our!
Shea O’Hara: Goodnight Combatants! See you next week!
