The AWF admin team is THRILLED to announce we are adding not one but TWO new admins to the team! We're happy that ASHTON HENARE and MYŌJIN have accepted positions on the AWF admin team!
As for the reasoning behind this move, there are several contributing factors. One of the biggest ones is that since ForeverKuroi has taken on some new responsibilities in life, his availability and activity has unfortunately taken a temporary dip. At first, the trio of Technical Perfection, anthonycaffrey, and myself were able to step up to the task... but the shows we put on demand a level of commitment that makes it hard to ever take a week off when real life gets in the way. We saw this with Prestige 41, which, while a good show by most standards, didn't feel like it delivered on the level that our shows have for the past several months, primarily because two admins were unavailable during it. With six admins, we'll be able to rotate duties and responsibilities more effectively. Admins will be able to take time off if they need a break! After going nonstop for the better part of two years for myself and Teeps, even longer for Kuroi, and Caffrey burning bright and fast during his first six months here... the extra backup is more than welcome!
Additionally, with only four admins, it has lead to us having to call in Network mods to judge more frequently than we would like. Since we don't allow admins to vote on their own matches, and admins recuse themselves when they feel they cannot be completely 100% unbiased, we've run into a handful of tight booking calls. Simply put, it's not fair to DT and Mongo to always be dragged into our booking threads, and we recognized the need for more voices backstage. Ryan and Draven add those voices for us perfectly.
We're going to keep putting out awesome shows. The influx of new staff will allow us to elevate the quality of our stuff even further, because the RPers in AWF keep pushing the envelope every show, and that drives us to take it up a notch too.
For the time being, we're all taking on very specialized roles. Keep in mind, while there is a "point person" for each of these things, the process is truly collaborative between all admins in the backstage area. Teeps will be running point on graphics and making us look snazzy, with me serving as secondary backup. Similarly, Caffrey will be the point person for show cards (with me as backup), so if you have a specific match you want to see, it's best to let one or both of us know. I'm going to be the first point of contact within the admin team for any comments or complaints to make sure we have a streamlined source of communication, and Kuroi will be the backup. Right now, we're letting Kuroi take a breather as he juggles real life priorities. And we'll let Ryan & Draven get their sea legs under them before we throw 'em to thewolves wonderful adoring members of AWF.
Welcome, Ryan & Draven!
