- Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that Wrestle:UK crowned a New World Champion at the end of July. That's right, Eddie Havok was able to use his skill and guile to secure a pin-fall victory over Dominic Morrissey to capture his First World Heavyweight Championship. What a year it has been for the leader of the Skulls of Grimm - as Havok has gone toe to toe with some of our sports best wrestlers and given each of them a run for their money. They say the best way to grow and improve is to prove yourself against the best and that narrative symbolizes Eddie Havok's rise to the top. Hardwork and perseverance paid off in spades, and now Eddie Havok has etched is name in the W:UK history books. His victory isn't without controversy, as he was able to pin the 'out-matched' Morrissey to earn The World Championship, and didn't have to pin the reigning champion; Billy Fowler. Now that Havok is in the driver's seat - will he be able to hang onto his coveted World Championship? We're going to find out soon enough, as Mr. Blood has already announced that there will be a 1 on 1 match between Eddie Havok and former World Champion; Billy Fowler in the month of September.
- The Bastards Trio of Billy Fowler, Rob Riot and Frank Windsor have been running roughshod over the world of professional wrestling for the past year. They're undefeated in Multi-man matches, and have dominated the Tag Team Scene along the way. How do you go about halting their impressive run? Well, you assemble a dream team of sorts hoping that will be enough to take away their momentum. As Wrestle:UK heads to the land down under - The fans will pack the arena with the opportunity to watch three of their beloved sons go to war one more time against the top stable in professional wrestling. Eddie D and Donzig have been tearing each other apart since Wrestle:UK's inception, and brought the house down their last time out. Now they're expected to co-exist alongside of the ultimate wildcard in Psychotic Goth. Expect an all out war of attrition with these six men step into the ring in two weeks time.
- Wrestle:UK did their part to showcase the extreme depth on it's tag team roster at the last event. Word circulating around the backstage area is that Mr. Blood has something epic planned going forward where an unquestioned top contender will emerge with an opportunity to dethrone The Best Tag Team in Professional Wrestling; The Bastards. Its a tall order, and based on what we've seen as of late - Rob Riot and Frank Windsor haven't become complacent, and seem as cohesive as ever. This is certainly a situation to monitor going forward.
- Want to talk about impressive debuts? Look no further than Julianna DiMaria. Julianna talked the talk, then walked the walk when he emerged victorious in her debut match against Chris Gipson and Ken Howard. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Ken Howard has also walked into Wrestle:UK and turned some heads with his unique skill-set inside of the ring. DiMaria was able to secure the pinfall and big things seem to be abound. It wouldn't surprise me if Julianna finds herself challenging for championship gold in the near future.
- Speaking of Champions, Eron Hunter has been nothing short of the standard of consistency. Hunter has won major championships all over the world, and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that he is currently on his 4th month as Commonwealth Champion after securing his 3rd championship defence his last time out. Hunter will now lock horns with a man who has recently overhauled his value system and now appears as dangerous as ever - Ronnie Long. This is the type of match that could sell out arenas on its own, as both men carry a lot of weight from their respective levels of experience. Just another reminder at the extreme amount of depth that this roster possesses.
- Speaking of Ronnie Long, The Hall of Famer has decided to start listening to his former tag team partner Daeriq Damien. Moreover, Long has associated himself with two powerful men from the Mudflats of Mississippi. Damien appears ready to build an empire around their prized jewel, and Ronnie appears ready to cease championship gold. As this group develops chemistry, the sky is the limit for what they're capable of accomplishing.
- One match that you certainly won't want to miss this coming show is The Outback Death Match which features The Dark Stars & Commandrix vs. Sinclair and The Oblivion Death Squad. The six of these competitors are known to have a penchant for violence, and so one can only imagine the depths that each side would be willing to go to secure a victory over the other. Expect bloodshed, and expect these six to walk away having left pieces of themselves in the Outback. (Metaphorically).
- Kira Izumi has signed on to challenge Eddie Havok at 'Smackdown in Sydney.' The international star has been at the top of the wrestling world for many years, and now looks to test himself against the W:UK World Champion? Is this a one-time shot? Or has Mr. Blood opened up his wallet to secure the services of another top flight talent with the mind to elevate the roster? Time will tell. One this that we do know? Eddie Havok vs. Kira Izumi is a clash of contrasting styles, and we know that 'Styles' make fights. Get your popcorn ready.
- A match that might be falling under the radar at the moment features two 'hungry' superstars who are looking to use the other to catapult themselves into the upper echelon off the W:UK roster. Jackie Wentzel has proven that he can talk the talk, and has turned in a few memorable performances thus far. Chris Gibson walked through the front door and started calling out the top dogs in the promotion. If memory serves - both of these men have taken a swing At The Bastards and were both unapologetic about their desire to take them out. While that hasn't happened as of yet, Mr. Blood feels that these two are both on the cusp of big things within the promotion, and this upcoming bout will determine who's moving up, and who stays stagnant.
