The shot opens up to a filled makeshift auditorium in the Gambler’s Den, SCCW decorations evidently strewn about with a few old pieces of MCCW intertwined in some of the embroidery that hangs around the rafters. Several crew members are seen roaming about between the crowd sections, perhaps acting as makeshift security or rushing to ensure that everything is functioning as it should lest a certain tech monkey wind up screwing everything up like he usually did. A man in denim stands off to the side of the stage with the classic pen behind the ear and clipboard in hand, eyes lazily scanning the surrounding crowd out of boredom, occasionally flipping through the papers in hand though nothing seems to really interest him. Compared to some of the other crew members, the man in question seems a bit out of place but evidently a crew lanyard hangs around his neck to signify that he is in fact part of the team.
Ronnie: “Brayden!”
The denim man turns to see the oncoming Ronnie Woodberry come up to him, a bit out of breath with a measure of panic in his eyes.
Brayden: “You good broseph?”
Ronnie: “No! One of the people for tonight’s ceremony isn’t in attendance! I swept through every section earlier and no one! Their seats are just gonna be empty!”
Brayden: “Daaang….”
Brayden ultimately shrugs, looking over his papers on the clipboard.
Brayden: “Oooohhh….so that’s why this note was sent…”
Ronnie: “Note?”
Brayden: “Yeah man. The people sent a note and-”
Ronnie: “Give me that!”
Brayden nonchalantly passes the note off to Ronnie who shakes his head in disbelief before dashing across the front row by the stage, soon disappearing behind the large curtains and appearing backstage. Weaving through more staff and crew members, the red-haired member of the team glides through the hordes, evidently searching for one of the higher-ups. Eventually ,his search takes him to finding both Aleister and Kingsley, dressed in their most formal two piece suits: Aleister in a dark gray one whilst Kingsley sported a navy blue one. Still a bit breathless, Ronnie manages to run up to the two, note making its way to rest against the latter’s shoulder as the tech monkey caught his breath.
Kingsley (confused): “Ronnie? I thought you were with Brayden right now?”
Ronnie (gasping a bit): “I had to bring a note that he didn’t. Here.”
Kingsley takes the note in hand, opening it up and looking it over with confusion still etched on his brow. Quickly skimming through it, he nods in turn before handing it off to Aleister, who pockets it away.
Kingsley: “Shame they couldn’t attend, but at least they left a little something to be said.”
Ronnie: “So everything else is all good?”
Kingsley: “Quite. The other two VIPs are already here and mingling with various parts of the talent personnel at the moment, so they’ll be in a good mood once they’re time comes. Expecting this ceremony to probably take no more than an hour. Much as being grandiose for this occasion is appealing, we do have a show to run afterwards so I’d rather not dawdle on stuff for too long.”
He pats Aleister’s shoulder.
Kingsley: “I’d suggest making your way up on stage shortly, my friend. Only a matter of time till people get antsy and god knows that Brayden will probably be behind by at least five minutes.”
Ronnie: “Why is he even a producer?”
Aleister: “Because some people know how to work technology, Ronnie.”
Ronnie: “Hey!”
Kingsley chuckles at the reaction as Aleister parts from the two, now his turn to weave past others. To some, he gives various hand signals and exchanges of words to get everything ready and to be in their rightful spots, a sign that the show was about to start. From behind the curtain, he could clearly see the lights dim down and the immediate hush that washed over the crowd. A couple minutes pass, and the start up of “Adrenaline” by Bridge to Grace begins to play over the speakers, a song widely known to the crowd as some murmurs of excitement begin to fill the space. In front of the center section, above and behind the podium, a screen begins to play a highlight reel of several matches that have occurred over the past three years: Eichi Yamaguchi versus Death Trap to determine the inaugural MCCW World Heavyweight Champion, the inaugural MCCW Apprentice Championship match with a bloodied Shane Thompson, the steel cage match between Eichi and Death Trap, Jason Justice defeating Jay Carter to become the first two-time MCCW World Heavyweight Champion, Death Trap versus Brad Swann, and many other memorable matches.
“FEED ME ADRENALINE!”
As the chorus pitches, Aleister finally steps his way out onto the stage to a loud ovation as he paces over to the podium, waving to various parts of the crowd in the process. The music continues to persist amid the applaus, soon fading out afterwards though the applause still continues with some in attendance breaking out into chants.
“MAY-FIELD! MAY-FIELD! MAY-FIELD! MAY-FIELD!”
The chant reaches the entirety of the auditorium as one big chorus, leaving a wide smile plastered on the ever loyal member of SCCW as he soaks it all in. Gradually, the chorus of chanting dies down, leaving the man able to speak, tapping the microphone to ensure it’s on and operating as it should be.
Aleister: “Well…thank you for that warm reception.”
Another brief round of applause ensues.
Aleister: “Folks, it is my pleasure and honor to welcome you all to the first ever SCCW Hall of Fame ceremony here at The Gambler’s Den in Sin City. For three years, this company in both of its names has seen its fair share of ups and downs that on more than one occasion, resulted in us having to temporarily close our doors in order to sort things out so that we could ensure we always came back with our best foot forward for the sake of the fans and talents that have helped make and shape the company as it is today. From what started as a small company operating out of the New England area, has now become the epicenter of popularity in Sin City alongside The Gambler’s Den. I’ll admit that I had my doubts, but through Kingsley’s wisdom and business intellect, this company has been flourishing once again and hell, perhaps even surpassed the expectations by more than double compared to what we had when this company was first founded.”
More applause follows.
Aleister: “When the company first started with myself and several investors, we weren’t expecting any big names to join us right out the gate and to our expectation, that’s what we got…except for one man. That man would go to be one of the main attractions for the months to come and in the process he helped many other talents find their stride and improve on themselves to become stronger, better, and more known to the XHF Network as a whole. It still was a shock to think that this man had decided to cast his lot with us but we weren’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth. In his time with us, he would go on to become not one, but a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, an End of Days victor, and ultimately an X*Crown Champion once more in his career. Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor and privilege on behalf of SCCW, to announce the first inductee of the SCCW Hall of Fame Class of 2022, The Main Attraction, Death Trap!”
“The Hard Sell” by Coheed and Cambria begins to play over the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet once again as the XHF Legend begins striding his way out.
Death Trap approaches the microphone and pats his papers to align them on the podium. His Armani suit looks polished and professional as always. He of course has on his fancy Italian shoes, belt, and slacks. And ... a goddamned black bowler hat. He smiles and strokes his trimmed and neat beard.
Death Trap: "So this was...unexpected."
Some light cheers.
Death Trap: "So when I joined up with MCCW, it was early in its run. It was just starting the first gold rush to crown the initial champion. And it was a struggle at first for me. See I had spent the better part of a decade lost. My mind was shattered from all the concussions and abuse I took in the original XHF. For those who don't know I lost my first X*Crown run not to defeat but to injury. And at End of Days that year I had clarity for the first time. I saw the world again and I was me again. I went and got cleared by a bunch of doctors. Yeah funny how Mongo didn't require that to embarrass me, only once I was me again. Got all the mental acuity tests done and passed, after a decade of fading, falling through darkness, grocery shopping at Home Depot, being taken advantage of for laughs by the GUNS and Mongo."
He stops and looks down, a tear in his eye.
Death Trap: "And so I began the quest for a comeback. And I decided I wanted the grind again. Weekly matches. In front of a dedicated crowd. Aleister took a huge risk on me. A proven injury risk, pushing 40 at the time, name recognition at its lowest. And I appreciate that he did that for me. He brought me back to the big time. And through the early struggles, he never lost faith that I could be that big draw for MCCW. And by the end of the Gold Rush I had surged, found my way. I was the old DT again...no...I was better. I had all my martial arts working. I had new moves ready to experiment with. I had old classics ready to win me matches. And despite limited promo packages and press dockets, we pushed MCCW to the top. Everyone was watching, Aleister was a household name for his commentary. Me, Eichi, and Justice...were the big time feuds. And boy did we bring it to each other. It was something I hadn't had in the ring in a while...fun."
He nods and laughs.
Death Trap: “And through MCCW I was able to finally become a World Champion again. And it meant everything to me. So much that I volunteered to be an ambassador at the very same pay per view series I found my way again at. End of Days. And...I won. I brought the briefcase here. And I gained my largest fan club ever, including a protégé who would struggle to find her way in the ring here, but found phenomenal success on the global stage. And now here I stand ... having held the MCCW World title twice, held the X*Crown for a second time, and now a global tag team champ. And while SCCW is no longer my home, it will always be a second home to me. It revived my career and my love for the sport. It got me back into the game. It launched my partner's career. And it is still the top alt fed ever. Go ask anyone who knows. DT may not be the big draw for SCCW, but that's the goal. Pass the torch, get the next group up and coming through the ranks. Let Eichi and Justice work with guys like Storms, Tressler, the Nihilists, the Motor City Mafia, Johnny Maverick."
A loud raucous applause. DT pauses and soaks it in.
Death Trap: "And lest we not forget...Raiden and Hyperion are still here...and my ledger has some red in it. Let's just say if a guest spot ever is needed against one of those guys, maybe SCCW Hall of Famer, 2 time champ Death Trap steps through the door...to be the Main Attraction one more time. Thank you to everyone. Aleister Mayfield, Ronnie ..keep the lights on...Kingsley, and of course my favorite rivals Justice and Eichi. Thank you for this tremendous honor."
The Hard Sell hits the speakers for old time's sake as DT soaks in the cheers, takes a bow, and steps off the stage with his hall of fame ring. Aleister joins in with the applause before taking his spot at the podium once again.
Aleister: “A fantastic and amazing speech for a truly one of a kind talent that this Network has to offer. Definitely have to keep in mind the offer of bringing him back for a guest appearance for the future. Now onto our next inductee…though unfortunately they’re not in attendance this evening and I believe more focused on what’s happening after the ceremony, but nevertheless…”
He clears his throat for a moment.
Aleister: “The next inductee is someone who came to us as one of the first originals in MCCW and out the gate, he made himself a known force to be reckoned with in the ring, only heightened by his sharp ground game that made going up against him a challenge no matter what kind of approach you took with him. Much like Death Trap, this man in particular would become a two-time World Heavyweight Champion himself and go on to form very notable rivalries with the likes of Death Trap and Eichi Yamaguchi throughout their tenures together in MCCW. Even in today’s day age, he and Eichi still continue to duke it out on occasion and at this point, I’ve frankly lost count of who has more wins over the other, but there is one thing that this man has done that sets him apart from the others, and that’s becoming the only currently known three-time World Heavyweight Champion in the combined existence shared between MCCW and SCCW. It takes a lot of heart, drive, and determination to capture the coveted top prize in the company, but to do it three times is something that only he can brag about for the time being. Ladies and gentlemen, the second inductee of the SCCW Hall of Fame Class of 2022, The Warden, Jason Justice!”
“The Hangman’s Body Count” by Volbeat begins to play on the speakers as a collage of images appear on the screen behind Aleister, highlighting some of Justice’s biggest victories including his two title victories, his victory over STRiFE from the Mastery Tour, victories over other long standing rival, Hyperion, and victories over Eichi Yamaguchi. From his jacket, Aleister produces the note handed to him earlier, music quickly dying down.
Aleister; “Justice’s associates from E.V.E in J-ROK did leave us a small note with words The Warden regarding his induction and it reads as follows:
From The E.V.E office,
I am humbled and grateful for this honor, to be recognized as part of the foundation of this great company that we've all help build from the ground up. This is only the beginning as we will continue to grow and prove to the rest of the XHF network that the best of the best are here in SCCW. And if anyone has any doubt about that, they are more than welcome to come to my ring and try to prove me wrong.
The People's Bro, The Here and Now, The Warden Of Violence, SCCW's only 3-time World Champion,
Jason Justice.”
Another round of applause echoes around the auditorium as the images behind Mayfield begin to fade out one by one before he begins to read off for the next one.
Aleister: “Finally, we have our last inductee for this year. This man in particular was already somewhat known in the Network for some previous work with the now defunct Kudo Shuto Warzone and rather than partake in street fights, he opted to take his skills to the ring and test his mettle upon the white mat canvas. Despite a rather shocking and perhaps embarrassing debut to someone who only Leon Chant shares the honor with, this man would go on to become one of the most dominant forces in MCCW and become the company’s first ever World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions 10 and first ever Gold Rush, now Rags to Riches winner. He would later go on to have an iconic Steel Cage match against Death Trap and several classic matches against The Main Attraction and Jason Justice in the process before going on to win the Gold Rush for a second consecutive year, both ventures of which only saw him incur one loss. In fact, his performances made him one of the top three most winning wrestlers in MCCW at the time before he came back to join the ranks of SCCW. Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final inductee of the SCCW Hall of Fame Class of 2022, The Gold Rush God, Eichi Yamaguchi!”
“II Kusuri” blares through the speakers as Eichi Yamaguchi steps onto the stage from the back. He's in a nice blue suit and has a replica of his MCCW World Championship around his waist. He holds both of his Gold Rush Trophies as well. He steps up to the podium before he puts them down in front of the podium. He looks around as the fans cheer and chant. Taking it all in.
Eichi: "(To be apart of the first class of the SCCW hall of fame...)"
His words linger on as he tries to find the right words to say.
Eichi: "(It's my highest honor to be a part of this Hall of Fame class. To be inducted with two of my greatest rivals. Jason Justice and Death Trap. I still got two ass whippings ready for the both of them.)"
He chuckles a little.
Eichi: "(I made history and won the first ever Gold Rush tournament, beating Death Trap in the finals. Winning the World Championship along the way. That night I made history and I met my greatest opponent. I went on to have some wars with guys like Koch Knocker, Jason Justice and Death Trap. Together we helped this company grow and prosper into the greatest promotion in the world. Everyone who laughed and discredited us has been proven wrong time and time again. Not any of them could outlast or outbeat us.)"
Eichi: "(Fuck Fireside and the corpse of that betty crocker mother fucker. I created the foundation for MCCW. The gold standard. Death Trap elevated those standards and turned it into something even better. Jason Justice helped promote and elevate this promotion as well. I started out here with a loss to Ognom. I know I know. I was shocked too. But even the greats have to start at rock bottom. So to all of you young up and comers. To all of you guys that are our future...)"
Eichi: "(Never forget that. There will always be ups and downs, but at the end of the day you keep on going. Keep on pushing. Because your time will come. Just like my time will come again. So let me wrap this up by saying thank you. Thank you to Jason Justice and Death Trap for pushing me to my limits. Thank you to Mayfield for giving this unknown punk a chance. Thank you to KSW for getting me started. Thank you for KSW for getting shut down and giving me the opportunity to wrestle for MCCW. Thank you to the fans who've supported me along the way. And last but not least thank you to all of those who said we were nothing. Who said we were handed this or that. Fuck the haters. Fuck 'em till they're dead and gone. Because they're nothing but dust in the wind, while we're standing tall and strong!)"
Eichi: "(Thank you SCCW! I love you! And I'll die for you. SCCW For Life!)"
He waves his hand before leaving, applause following after him as the blue-haired talent disappears behind the curtain while Aleister approaches the podium for the last time.
Aleister: “And with that, that marks the final induction for this year. Once more, a round of applause for the OG trio that has been inducted this evening.”
One final, and slightly deafening round of applause echoes around the building as the images of the three talents appear on the screen, confetti and streams erupting from behind and cascading down onto the floor and stage in a mix of red and black.
Aleister: “With the conclusion of the ceremony here, this ends this year's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony but fear not! Gambler’s Fortune is set to start in the next few hours so don’t go away for too long! We will be seeing you all very soon!”
A loud “S-CEE-CEE-DUB!” chant begins to break out among the audience as Aleister offers a bow to the crowd before disappearing behind the curtain himself, camera gradually fading to black.

Brayden nonchalantly passes the note off to Ronnie who shakes his head in disbelief before dashing across the front row by the stage, soon disappearing behind the large curtains and appearing backstage.
