I remember an episode of the revived Outer Limits where there were Russian and American lunar bases and a disaster on Earth forces both bases to combine their resources to survive. Well someone obviously decided to take that concept a little further and use the I.S.S. to produce and release a movie called I.S.S. Now what is the I.S.S.? The I.S.S. is the International Space Station, which was built in space and has been operating ever since and manned by both Russian and American crews. The movie starts quite promising with a little background about the station's history before leading into the movie where Ariana Debose plays Kyra Foster, a new crew member, who along with another new member named Gordon arrives at the I.S.S. and they are greeted by the other four members. Now all six bond with each other and at first they are enjoying themselves except for one thing and that both crews recieve messages after witnessing nuclear explosions on Earth destroying parts of America and Russia. The mission now is to take the I.S.S. for the other side. So paranoia begins to set in slowly and both sides start expecting the other of sabotage and it seems Kyra and a Russian named Nicholai are the only two with enough sense to try and keep it together. Later on crew members start dying starting with Gordon, who was thought to be dead and then is found floating around and is stuck to a solar panel. Then a few scenes later he's killed fighting one of the Russians in of all places an ejection tube along with the Russian he was fighting with. Throw in a subplot about a radiation counteractive drug that was developed and everything starts getting even more sillier as Kyra and Nicholai attempt to find out who is trying to sabotage the I.S.S. leading to an even more head scratching climax. The acting is enjoyable but the plot is so silly it must have been dusted off after being buried in the old Cold War movie scripts pile and rewritten to incorporate the International Space Station. Still I did enjoy the movie and if the ending is any indication it's a one time only movie. I hope so. I really do hope so.
