I've been trying to think of "definitive" albums from various bands in order to make recommending them a bit easier. That way you can be like "oh listen to this and this" or whatever. So with ELO I realized that out of their original run, only 3 albums are needed to get a feel for their career- and all three highlight one part of their style too.
Well, in playing with my new computer I decided to run ELO's "New World Record" and "Balance of Power" in the same playlist, going by track number (so 1-1, 2-2, etc). Holy crap it's awesome. It's like non-stop good and the flow is still solid even though they run together.
You guys got any albums that play well together?

If you make a playlist like that out of Appetite For Destruction and Chinese Democracy you will have listened to one of the greatest and most consistent albums ever recorded. And Chinese Democracy.
