~The XHF Network feed cuts to static and fades to black. The screen comes back to life in a small gym with a ring set up in the middle. The video feed is in black and white and the camera transitions … this is a two camera gig boys. The lights in the gym are still dim and we see two shadows in the ring approach each other and shake hands. They step back and place on their masks. The lights in the gym click to life as if it’s a real wrestling event and we see the Nihilists in their true habitat. The wrestling ring. They begin to circle each other as a sparring match is about to take place.~
”We are united. Three people. One message. One perfect composition. Six person action where the pieces involves all blend in a harmonious union to produce a completed single shining object. The individual elements linked together by disparate conditions but built in equal measure to be a unified front. The delivering of our message to the masses is much like the activity we take part in to get your eyeballs and ear holes focused on what needs to be seen and heard. You see the in ring action the three of us will bring forth is nothing short … of a work of art. Flowing from one teammate to the other, action ebbing and flowing like the waves of an ocean or the colors of a sunset perfectly imagined by the flawless strokes of a pen, chalk, or brush. Do not be shocked, surely you have noticed from our previous promos our little penchant for the odd flourish and verbose poetry. There is a reason for it. So for this one moment where we finally get to unify our message and our complete team as one in the ring it seems only appropriate to shift our in ring methodology to the forefront for once instead of just hammering home the allusion and imagery to the ever encroaching eternity in what can only be described as an elegy of emptiness. After all the message is there for you all to rewatch in any of our performances and the references seem to be wasted on this crew. Nelly is all rose tinted glasses and fanfare, Feargal is incapable of understanding the hidden meaning in words and AJ Spencer has already made his opinion on the darkness perfectly known.”
~The two men grapple. They jockey back and forth as Esmur slowly pushes Gebin into the corner then they begin to trade places across the ropes until they are in the adjacent corner with Esmur’s back to it. He pushes them back to the center of the ring where they engage in a test of strength and seem to be evenly matched.~
”So allow us to *grunt* enlighten you. To welcome you home, take our hands and follow us into the black, deeper until we may never get back. The in ring action is but echoes of time unfolding, we each walk our lines and play our parts to put the pen to paper and etch into the forever a coherent composition. A wrestling match is art, a dance for eternity, a piece put into motion to be viewed for the visual aesthetic and dug deeper into for the hidden meaning. And that is where the three of us are a perfect blend. Like her beautiful charcoal work Natasha is a bludgeon. A ball of fury wound up waiting to be unleashed in heavy strokes and sharp contrast. A veritable storm of violence aimed in one precise direction. A driving power bass line to the song if you will. From the method of her in ring focus to the no nonsense promos to the simple, striking, contrast in her outfits. She is the black in the black and white. A compliment for sure to the style the two of us have hones over fifteen years working with each other.”
~Esmur finally ducks down and uses a fireman’s carry but Gebin flips off of it and leaps off the ropes springboarding back. Esmur catches him in a bear hug and Gebin slides down into a split to escape then rolls forward between Esmur’s legs. He yanks them as he goes and Esmur somersaults forward to avoid damage. Gebin fluidly rolls to his feet as Esmur does the same. Gebin goes for a flying snap mare but Esmur rolls him through into a reverse chin lock instead. Gebin pushes himself off the mat and kips up out of it. Esmur spins his legs out to get to his knees and springs forward for a take down but Gebin leap frogs him and the two men now lock eyes from across the ring.~
”Esmur is the drumline to the song. The beat, the rhythm, the pacesetter. He uses his unique set of skills to turn the tempo up for flight or down with his many holds. He is the water color base. The substance and the unheralded guide for the eyes. Applied with both a heavy brush and a fine detailed bristle. When the powerful in your face action is not appropriate we turn to the cunning and the clever. The brains behind the strategies we employ and the one equally likely to have you looking at the stars as he flies or seeing the stars as he bends your body.”
”And Gebin is the guitar, loud and commanding but still beautiful and intricate. He is the shock of intense color you get from throwing the paint to the canvas Pollock style. Impossible to ignore and impossible to predict. He is the one who takes the rising tempo and cranks it to eleven. Put together and you have a perfect sheet. A painting that is bold, colorful, and evocative. A melody that turns cacophony into harmony. And while Natasha showed off her ability to put the art on the paper, we give you the artistry that is what you will see when the three of us unite as one harmonious power chord in the ring.”
~Esmur charges and Gebin drops to the mat then springs up and sprints to the perpendicular ropes. The two men criss cross a few times before Gebin dives for a clothesline and Esmur slides onto his knees under it and catches his legs as he goes over him. He rolls back into a Boston Crab. Gebin pushes up on his hands and spins using his torque to force Esmur to the mat and a pin. Esmur however rolls backwards out of the pin and pulls Gebin up. The two are now sweating and breathing heavily as they undergo a few more turns of reversals and tricks using their chosen skills. Esmur trying to tie up and ground the flying Gebin who keeps using his speed and agility to squirm out. Gebin leaps to the top rope and Esmur charges and shoves his legs. Gebin drops to the apron and Esmur ties him up in a guillotine and pulls him over the ropes and into the ring where Gebin finally taps the men stand up and shake hands again.~
”You see *pant pant* it is all an ever evolving work of art where it will continue until it is complete and not a second shorter or longer. And I think at least one of our opponents will find that there is no deception or dissension in the ranks. We are a well oiled machine finally getting to fire on all cylinders in the ring together, united, in what will be the greatest work of art put to film in quite some time. Elegant and intense, graceful and explosive. It is amazing what you can do when you are all of the same mind. When the same instruction manual is being followed to the letter. It is difficult to try and twist the words of one when all three are saying the same thing if you catch the meaning AJ Spencer. And we will not deny the words that Nelly Angel said. It is very true that you three are also a team with a similar goal. The difference between us is that the Nihilists are a threesome all saying the same thing, all unified for the same goal … to spread the message win or lose, whatever works, however we can. You are three men unified by the same DESIRE … to recapture the fame, glory, and success you once had or were on track to have. And that is a unifying concept for sure. But whereas the darkness is absolute and any one of us can win or lose the match and still our goals will be met, you three will have to judge in the ring who is the one to get the glory, the shame. So you explain to me whether your hunger for dominance is compatible with two men striving to be reborn and ascend the ladder you seem to have leapt into the middle of.”
”I will not sell anything short Spencer, you are a talented man in the ring to be sure. Perhaps even a future champion, and I for one would love to see you and our colleague tangle head to head one on one. It would be a strong test. But you have the wrong attitude coming out of this. You seem to understand now that I am not just strong, and dangerous, in that ring … but that I will do whatever needs to be done to get my message out. And how fitting that my victory came in utter darkness. And I did it in the most cunning way possible. It isn’t always the strongest, or most stubborn, who wins … sometimes you have to use your ring awareness and your talents to your advantage. After all … Gebin and I HAVE defeated Mr. Raymond before the Christmas special … it is not as if I couldn’t have taken him out as well. But who was more likely to give in quickest and provide me the best route to success? Would you not, given the opportunity have preferred to take on the septuagenarian who would surely have fallen to your power strokes faster than a seasoned former world champ? As you said … this is a learning opportunity and a chance to show you have learned a bit. And a test if you will. How will you work within new and unfavorable circumstances against a unified team with two men you know nothing about?”
”Misogyny and excuses aside, you have more than earned our respect. As has Nelly Angel. While his joyous public face may offend our companion, Esmur and I have nothing but respect for a seasoned wrestler who took what little he was given and turned it into gold many times over. Who has delivered his message more efficiently and effectively than Nelly? We cannot take umbrage with a man who lives his best life and succeeds in many of his exploits. After all is that not all we ever wanted out of this life. We talk about the end coming but it is always with the view that people need to live for the now and accept that the darkness comes without remorse and without warning. Mr. Angel lives for the now whenever he gets in the ring. He is a work of art in the ring too. His ability to fly is something to behold. He may not be the strongest or most talented but he has absolutely perfected his strengths. And frankly his attitude in the ring is one you need to be a champ. Because after all you have to care about winning but you can’t be afraid of losing or you will go mad. And Nelly has a long list of accomplishments to show for his attitude always looking to the next success instead of dwelling on failure. That said … as you are the most similar to myself it is obvious we have a plan. After all you are the smallest and with a little creative application of Esmur’s trade to slow your roll it will be nothing for me to outrun you or Natasha to outgun you. So … I do look forward to seeing how you plan to deal with us.”
~They exit the ring drying themselves with towels. They head toward the first camera~
”And yet the most intriguing may be the Nukebuster. What are you? It is a fun mystery. One we will need to solve. And yet who among you three knows more about staring into the darkness than you sir? You were poised for great things and then … you lost it all. I will admit it was not a similar story to ours. There was no fall … just … middling nothingness. And then we discovered the darkness surrounding us was not a curse but a blessing. So I wonder if you could just learn to see the darkness as an ally if you could be something great again. But alas we may never know. You are the weak link in this team. A giant eraser to the canvas. A barrel of liquid paper. There is no artistry in you …”
”But the three of us? We are a team. A unified front who have studied our own strengths and weaknesses. There is a reason Gebin and I have only fallen once in XHF. We are students of the game and we are artists in a network full of lost causes and failed experiments. Come Friday there will be no reset, no rebirth, no new fwends, no revivals, no new messages. There is only the glorious artistry that is found when you paint with dark strokes, when you dip into the abyss of the soul and dig it out. There is only one team … overcoming three men … and six human beings … embracing eternity. And I believe it’s at this point in this art metaphor where the band leader would drop the mic…”
~They shove past the camera man and by the time he recovers the men are gone and the door closes behind them as the color returns to the frame then fades to black before static takes over and the XHF Network feed restores itself.~
