AWH, FUCK YO' HEADPHONE!
The crowd jumps to their feet, cheering ecstatically as the lights in the arena go dark. The big screen displays Seth Dillinger's tron video.
Suddenly, blue and green laser lights start to scan across the arena from the ramp. As they pass over the top of the ramp, a silhouette can be seen. After a few moments, a neon rainbow lights up from the figure's waistline.
The lasers cut out and the house lights come up. Seth Dillinger stands at the top of the ramp with his new custom X*Crown belt, outfitted with rainbow LED lights on the front of it. He holds his hands up to the crowd, who roar back in approval. Seth struts down the path to the ring, looking dapper with his suit and skinny tie and freshly messed up hair. He motions for a microphone and is handed one pretty quickly. Seth glances down at his belt.
Seth Dillinger: What do you guys think, huh? Pretty snazzy, right?
Seth reaches down and fiddles with it. The rainbow pattern changes to a slower pulsating motion and he grins ear to ear.
Seth Dillinger: I know, I know -- it's a bit... gaudy. But come ON, they told me it could be whatever I wanted... so I made it light up with pretty colors. Way I see it, now there's a party EVERYWHERE I go. Because I'm not going anywhere without this thing. Not after how hard I fought to win it.
Seth paces around the ring, giving a moment for the applause to die down.
Seth Dillinger: Damn, man. You guys see that? That was BRUTAL. I had to last over an hour in that ring with some fucking tough competition. I took down SEVEN people in that Rumble... including our very own commissioner, Jackson Steele. Sorry, boss.
Seth cheekily grins.
Seth Dillinger: But you know what? I made it. I pulled off what people thought was impossible. And I didn't do it by cheating or taking the easy route. I did it by relying on hard work and endurance and some good, old fashioned athleticism.
Seth takes a moment to breathe in deeply and gaze out at the crowd, as if trying to capture the moment in his brain so he can relive it forever. That's when another voice is heard...
???: I gotta hand it to you Seth...
Seth looks up at the ramp, and Jackson Steele comes out! The fans go crazy again for the AWF legend.
Jackson Steele: You really did the AWF proud in that Rumble. Now, granted, it would've been great if your commissioner could've brought home the glory... but in lieu of that... you'll do.
Steele winks at Seth, who rolls his eyes and smiles.
Jackson Steele: Now... it appears that Felix and Danica are indisposed this week with court proceedings for their never-ending divorce. But if Felix was here, I'm sure he'd say something like...
Jackson clears his throats and does his best gravelly voice to impersonate Felix.
Jackson Steele: "Son, you are what AWF is all about! Respect. Athleticism. Sportsmanship. These are the core values of this company, and watching you exemplify them gives me hope for the future!"
Jackson coughs a bit from the strain the impression put on his throat.
Seth Dillinger: Steele, that was terrible.
Jackson shrugs.
Jackson Steele: Eh, whatever the case... if I know anything about you, Seth, I have a hunch that you're not just gonna take that title and sit on it. You're not gonna do a world tour and ignore the fans of AWF.
Seth nods as the crowd jeers at the idea.
Seth Dillinger: Hell no! I've always been about one thing, and one thing only -- these people right here.
He points out to the crowd as they cheer back in response.
Jackson Steele: Good, good. So, by the rules established by Mongo and the XHF Network... that title has to be defended every month. Granted, I know, you just won it... but that means that month is coming up shortly, right?
Seth nods again in agreement.
Jackson Steele: So... what do you say we get something on the books?
Seth smirks.
Seth Dillinger: I dig it, man. Alright, listen up, locker room! I'm gonna be a fighting champ, and I'm gonna fight here, in AWF. So next week, at Prestige 34, I'm gonna put this baby on the line against the NEXT person who steps foot onto that stage.
There's a lull. The crowd murmurs a bit, excitedly.
Taylor: Who's it gonna be!?
Romano: An open challenge? Pretty ballsy...
That's when "Inception (Junkie XL Remix)" by Hans Zimmer hits. The entire arena comes UNGLUED. Seth's face drops into a focused glare at the ramp.
Everyone waits to see the Icon himself walk out onto the ramp... but nothing happens. Seth starts to bounce around the ring, warming himself up for the confrontation he knew was coming. The music plays on for a bit... and still nothing. Finally, the music cuts off and we start to hear live audio from the backstage area. Shouting and yelling can be heard with voices overlapping. Jackson Steele turns back to the curtain, raising an eyebrow, unsure of what is going on. Finally, after a few moments and some more inaudible arguing backstage, someone gets SHOVED through the curtain and faceplants onto the stage.
Romano: Oh... for fuck's sake.
Laying facedown on the ramp is none other than... Copycat. Terry Bradshaw isn't far behind him with a microphone in-hand.
Terry Bradshaw: You fell RIGHT into my trap, Steve!
Seth squints and shakes his head confused.
Seth Dillinger: It's--
Bradshaw cuts him off.
Terry Bradshaw: YOU SAID IT! YOU SAID THE NEXT PERSON TO STEP FOOT ON THE STAGE GETS A SHOT!
He frantically motions down to Copycat's foot.
Terry Bradshaw: See? His foot was out here. We get that shot!
Seth Dillinger: No! That's a hell no! Copycat, I get you're a nice guy and I don't want to be mean to you, but...
Jackson Steele: But you DID say the next person to step foot on the stage got the shot. And from where I stand... as much as it pains me to say...
Steele takes a deep breath and sighs.
Jackson Steele: At Prestige 34, Seth Dillinger will have his first X*Crown defense... against... ugh, Copycat.
The crowd does NOT approve and lets their feelings be heard. Seth slumps back against the ring corner, disappointed. Maverick lets out a scream of frustration and punches the wall on his way backstage. Steele looks over at Copycat and Bradshaw, then back up at Dillinger, and shrugs apologetically as we fade out to black.
"Super Dragon's here and I'm ready for a fight!" is heard before "Kung Fu Fighting" plays and Little Dragon appears and storms ringside. He reaches the ring and leaps over the top rope Luchador style and forward rolls tp his feet in a dragon stance.
Taylor: Our opening match and what better than by AWF's newest signees?
Romano: Let's see if they have what it takes to make it in professional wrestling.
As the bells toll and the music begins, the lights dim. Once the song kicks in, a singular spotlight shines down on Arron Black. He makes his way to the ring with the spotlight still shining down on him.
Taylor: And Arron Black!
Romano: I wonder. Is he related to Dylan?
Singles Match
Little Dragon vs. Arron Black
The bell rings, and the match begins with both Dragon and Arron circling one another, trying to find opportunities to attack. Arron’s the first one to make a move, as he dives in for a single-legged takedown, but with a wily step and dexterity, Dragon’s too difficult to hold onto, and he slips his leg free. As Arron begins to stand, the words ‘Super Dragon is here and I’m ready for a fight!’, before applause and clapping from the crowd.
Dragon’s gusto is met with a growl from the London Nightmare, and a huge hook as Arron stands. Again, Dragon ducks right underneath with flexibility and ease, and plants an uppercut on the towering man’s ribs! Then another! Then another! Still, Arron ends the beating by shoving Dragon away, and after a roll, Little Dragon is quickly back on his feet, raising his arms to the crowd!
Taking the initiative, Dragon charges right in with a karate strike to the bridge of Black’s nose! The Terror stumbles backwards! The Super Dragon rushes for the ring ropes, and bounces off of them for a roaring bicycle kick! Foot to the stomach! Black falls back! With him slumped over from the kick, Dragon quickly tries rolling into a pin…
ONE!
TW-- Kickout!
Taylor: Almost!
Romano: Dragon has an early lead.
Black kicks out. Little Dragon tries to circle around like before but is cut off in the middle of the ring. Like a bullrush, the London Terror grapples him by with overwhelming power, and pins Dragon to the ring ropes. One quick grunt later, and the powerhouse slings him towards the ring ropes, then bends for a back body drop. With different plans, Dragon rebounds off the ropes, rolls over Black’s back, then uses his SECOND trip to the ropes to springboard off, and fires off his springboard superman punch… only to land in the arms of the London Terror! Being held by Black is heavenly, compared to the belly-to-belly suplex across the ring! Dragon is slammed to the mat and is down!
Black doesn’t let up – he’s immediately pulling Dragon up, into his arms, and firing him off like a cannonball while throwing the luchador! Sick thud, Dragon’s down! The crowd roars in disapproval, which Black waves off the crowd. From a standing position, Black deadlifts Dragon and brings him to his feet, only to lock his arms on the luchador for a butterfly suplex, which sends him flying, effortlessly! Dragon hits the ground, and Black runs in for the pin.
ONE!
T-- Kickout!
Taylor: The tables have turned!
Romano: It's nice to see Black's strength.
A barrage of kicks begin to rain down onto Dragon, as the London Terror begins to lose his temper. Again, the luchador is lifted to his feet, but throws a quick upward chop to the towering behemoth! Black's practically seeing red, so he grabs both of Dragon's wrists as the man begins to throw more and more strikes, only to yank him face first into a knee! Double wrist locked knee to the jaw! Black throttles Dragon with knee after knee, refusing to let go until the referee breaks up the rule-breaking barrage, but the damage's already done to Dragon's masked face! Arron shoves his body over, then attempts another pin.
ONE!
TWO!
T-Kickout!
Taylor: Dragon's up against the corner!
Romano: He better push back if he hopes to win.
After that last kickout, the crowd is roaring for Super Dragon to make his appearance known. Black’s hands run through his head – as if he’s thinking, what’s it going to take to keep him down? He catches his breath, then starts guiding the smaller fighter to his feet… but he gets another uppercut to the stomach instead. Black’s hands choke Dragon, and get another punch to the same place. By his own accord, a wobbly, beaten, yet prepared Little Dragon stands on his own two feet! Just in time to eat a hook to the face!
Dragon wobbles backwards and into the ring ropes, where he stumbles forwards and falls while throwing another punch to the Brit’s stomach! The Terror takes a tumble! He falls back, and rebounds off the ropes while stumbling for his own strike, but gets whipped around with an athletic elbow to the chin! His head’s snapped back, and his third fall-and-rebound is primarily because he’s so fucking huge, so he’s helpless against the arms and legs dragging him to the ground, quickly ensnaring across his face and trying to yank him into a crossface!
In a moment of desperation and pure instinct, Arron begins to climb back up to his feet, and throw both himself backwards to send Dragon flying with him! The hold breaks, and both exhausted fighters lay on the ground to an applause!
Black is the first to his feet! With yet another effortless lift, the brawler lifts Dragon up in the air for a suplex-
Where Dragon begins throwing knees downwards like his life depends on it! Each knee rams into Arron’s forehead, making him trip and stumble off balance until Dragon’s able to droop over his back, and land on the turnbuckle! One foot bashes Arron in his nose to shove him back!
Arron’s holding his bloodied nose, groaning and growling in a fit of rage, and stumbles right into Super Dragon, launching onto his back, and almost snapping him in half with a brutal flying backstabber, also known as the DSD!
Taylor: Is this it!?
Romano: We shall see.
Dragon climbs atop the European brawler, and tries to hook a leg for the pin.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
Jessie Love: Ladies and gentlemen, your winner of the match: Little Dragon!
Taylor: I knew the guy had it in him!
Romano: And after his first match, he's 1 and 0.
As their theme plays the Zaibatsu Death Squad casually stroll out atop the entrance ramp to a wave of cheers and boos. Fargo drops down, towel over his head, into an amateur wrestling stance, crawling forward slightly with surprising speed. Dragon bumps his chest and outstretches his fist towards the camera, AWF Midwestern Championship wrapped firmly around his shoulder.
Taylor: The ZDS is up next, set for tag team action against Sniper and Kira!
Romano: Dragon's coming off being this close to winning the championship. I'm sure he'll be looking to get his anger out on them tonight.
Taylor: Anger? You've got him all wrong! Dragon takes it easy.
The duo making their way towards the ring, Fargo marching with his head hung low while ignoring any attempted interaction from fans. Dragon strolls behind chewing gum and looks around with disinterest, though he does make the effort to bump fists with anyone wearing ZDS shirts and hats.
Taylor: A win here tonight could help earn the ZDS the points they need to take on the Icons!
Romano: That new point system is going to keep tag teams on their toes around here. But I can't help but feel Dragon's going to want another shot at Card, soon.
Taylor: He missed it by that much. Card was just a step faster after Danica kept the match going.
Fargo slides under the ring and resumes his amateur wrestling stance. Dragon takes his time scaling the ring steps and entering normally. Fargo throws his towel towards the ring ropes with expert precision, maybe a little bit too close to Dragon, while Dragon removes his ballcap and shirt. Fargo and Dragon lock eyes before they walk to the center and raise their fists to the air.
Taylor: Should we be worried though? Fargo and Dragon getting a little close for comfort, there.
Romano: The pursuit of opportunity does many things to a man. If I were Dragon, I'm not sure I'd even want to be teaming with Fargo, seeing as how Fargo's the #1 contender for the championship.
Sniper appears on stage holding an American flag before placing it in a holder on the stage. He salutes it, then turns around and salutes the audience after running down the ramp and sliding in under the bottom rope he takes a knee and performs a hand gun gesture at his opponents.
Taylor: Sniper had a good performance at the Rumble, but he came up a little short.
Romano: He was only in there for a minute! He cost Kira his shot at the X*Crown, and Kira repaid the favor!
The opening riffs begin as we pan around the arena and soon focus on the stage. Kira comes spinning out from the back. He looks around and looks at Sniper, sneering at him.
Taylor: Ooh, Kira's pissed.
She's gone
Cross a red line
静なる夜
突き落とすその瞬間に
何を巡らせ生きた?
Kira walks around the ring slapping hands of his fans and egging on the fans who hate him. Sniper exclusively shakes hands of fans as he makes it down to the ring.
In hell
果てぬ悲愴
流しきれない痛みが
息を殺して沈んでいく
Kira climbs up to the top rope and makes an "X" pose with his arms. He looks around at the crowd before he gets down and repeats the process at the other three turnbuckles, ignoring Sniper.
Taylor: Who knows? Maybe these two will find a little bit better luck tonight against the ZDS!
Romano: I severely doubt that. But who knows, anything can happen on any given night in the AWF!
Tag Team Match
James Dragon & Scott Fargo vs. Johnny Sniper & Kira Izumi
Kira yells at Sniper to go stand in the corner. Dragon whispers something to Fargo, and then decides to start for his team. Sniper unwillingly puts up with Kira, standing in their corner. The bell rings.
Dragon immediately grabs Kira, hoisting the 200-pounder up for Fortuna, his package fisherman buster. Kira barely manages to wriggle his way out, landing on his feet. He strikes back with a few kicks to Dragon, who shoves him into the corner. Dragon responds with multiple punches in the corner. The referee steps in to break up the hold and backs Dragon out of the corner, reprimanding him as Kira falls to the mat. Fargo takes the opportunity to step on Kira's throat and hold it as the crowd boos.
Taylor: That's the ZDS for you!
Romano: They may "keep it chill", but they also want to win every match they can, any way they can!
Dragon puts his hand out for a tag. Fargo obliges.
Fargo immediately locks on a chin lock on Kira. Kira is caught in no man's land and looks for the ropes, but he's too far away. He begins reaching his arms out to Sniper, but Sniper's on the complete other side of the ring. Johnny Sniper begins getting the crowd to come alive by stomping on the steel steps on the outside. A "Let's Go Kira" chant breaks out as Kira makes it back to his feet. He strikes with his elbows to Fargo's gut, freeing himself. He bounces off the ropes and springboards off the second rope, performing a moonsault right into a SHOTGUN BLAST!
Taylor: HOLY SHIT!
Kira is flattened. Dragon notices Fargo wasting a little bit of time and tags his back, tagging in. Fargo just stares as Dragon wastes no time in going for the pin, turning over what's left of Kira's crumpled body.
Taylor: Fargo was not a fan of that tag!
Romano: It doesn't matter! What a statement this could be! An impressive victory for ZDS!
ONE!
TWO!
Johnny Sniper sneaks through the ropes and jumps on Fargo with a rolling senton!
Romano: Sniper with the save!
Taylor: Kira might be out! He might need medical attention! I don't think he's even moving. This is not good.
Dragon sneaks up behind Sniper g and immediately throws him out of the ring. Sniper hits the floor hard as the two members of the ZDS look in on the downed Kira Izumi. Kira's eyes indicate that all of the lights may not be on. James calls for Fargo to get Kira up, which he does. Dragon's fans cheer, but the rest of the crowd cheer as he lifts Kira up once again.
Dragon puts Kira up for the Fortuna, and connects this time! But he doesn't seem to want to pin Kira, as he rolls the opponent backward...
Romano: Are we about to see it?
...and Fargo drives his knee right into Kira's skull with the Cross Trigger! Fargo hooks the leg!
Taylor: Yes! Sayonara! This one's over!
Romano: Somebody get the medics to collect Kira off the mat!
ONE!
TWO!
THR- Sniper saves Kira again with a double axe handle! The crowd cheers!
Taylor: Sniper keeps this match alive!
Romano: On any other day, I'd say save Kira, but he clearly needs help in there! Johnny's not acting rationally!
Taylor: Johnny's got the heart of an American hero! He just wants to learn everything he can from Kira, even if the two do fight at times!
Sniper begins cleaning house on the ZDS. Fargo charges at him and gets knocked down with a right, Dragon gets knocked down with a left. Johnny Sniper whips Dragon into a corner aas the crowd comes alive. He then grabs Fargo, and the audience builds up a cheer as they see what's about to happen... Sniper whips Dragon into Fargo, and they both fall down in the corner! The crowd cheers.
Sniper stands back in the corner, performing handgun gestures at his two opponents laying in the corner. They both make it back to their feet at the same time, only to get knocked right back down on their asses with a double Shotgun Dropkick from both Sniper and Kira!
Taylor: They can work together after all! Double Shotgun Dropkick! Sniper and Izumi are still in this match.
Romano: Johnny didn't even know Kira was coming!
Kira takes this as his opportunity to fly. He quickly scales the ropes, and then turns around. The audience roars as he leaps and comes crashing down onto both members of ZDS with #FlipKira! Kira covers Dragon!
Taylor: #FlipKira! That will get trending within the hour!.
Romano: They might do it! What an upset this would be! It would put Kira and Johnny right up at the top of the leaderboard for a shot at the Icons!
ONE!
TWO!
Dragon kicks out!
Kira makes it back to his feet and argues with the referee about the two. Johnny Sniper gets Kira's attention, telling him to refocus. Kira does as he's told and gets Fargo up and against the ropes. Fargo gets sent over and to the floor with a Killshot from Johnny Sniper!
Taylor: Thanks for showing up, Fargo!
Romano: This crowd is rocking! They can feel the upset! I can feel the upset! Sniper lining up for another Killshot! This would be the second show in a row that Dragon's lost to a superkick!
Kira holds Dragon as Sniper mimes a final handgun gesture at Dragon. He looks to put away Dragon... and Dragon ducks, leading him to absolutely nail Kira with the Killshot!
Taylor: Dragon dodges! Sniper almost kicked Kira's teeth out!
Dragon throws Sniper out of the ring.
Romano: James Dragon takes advantage! This could be it!
ONE!
TWO!
Johnny Sniper tries to slide back in, but Fargo holds his leg!
THREE!
Jessie Love: Here are your winners of the match, James Dragon and Fargo, the ZAAAAAIIIIIIBAAATTSSSSU DEAAAAAATHHHHHHHHH SQUAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDD!
Most members of the crowd boo as James Dragon is handed his Midwestern Championship and the ZDS pick up the victory. The two raise their first to the air as they begin to head to the back.
Taylor: Like a well oiled machine, the ZDS gets the victory tonight. They're not bowing to any pressure put forward by Danica.
Romano: You're right, Tommy, but Clash is still a month away. Friendships don't tend to last in this industry. Championship glory, on the other hand, does.
The ZDS pose up on at the top of the ramp before disappearing to the back. Johnny Sniper is back in the ring, checking in on Kira Izumi. Kira has made it back to his feet by using Sniper and the ropes, and he's clearly been through a hell of a match.
Taylor: A good and clean team, Kira and Johnny just ran into a team with more experience. They'll be back.
Romano: I could see them doing great things together, Tommy. Like---
All of the sudden, Kira sprays his Blood Mist right in Johnny Sniper's face! The crowd boos loudly!
Taylor: Hey! That's uncalled for! What's Izumi doing?
Romano: Teaching Johnny Sniper a lesson, it seems!
Johnny Sniper drops to his knees, obviously blinded by the mist. Kira delivers his "Itami no Izumi" kick, a shining wizard to the kneeling Sniper. Sniper gets absolutely thrashed by the kick, leading to even more booing, but Kira isn't done. He ignores the crowd voicing their disapproval.
Taylor: They made such a good team! Kira's throwing away a golden opportunity here!
Romano: No, Kira's striking out and making his own! Like I said earlier, the pursuit of opportunity can lead a man to do many things!
Kira Izumi picks Sniper off the ground as the crowd boos even louder. He gets behind Sniper, taking his arms with him, before delivering a sick Houfuku. The crowd's booing is at a high as the crowd boos the visibly pissed off izumi, who has just spiked his former tag team partner into the mat.
Taylor: Kira had enough of Sniper, and just like the Rumble, tonight, he attacked his partner!
Romano: His former partner now. After this ass-kicking he just got? Definitely former partners. Sniper's resilient as the next guy, but this angry Kira might be an unstoppable force.
Kira makes an "X" pose with his arms before heading up the ramp. He ignores the fans before making the pose one more time and then disappearing to the back.
The camera fades into view of somewhere... different. We aren't inside of the ring or even the arena. Inside of a court where strength doesn't rule, but rather, law. We are in a courtroom where a judge stands before two different parties - Danica and Felix Ziko. The judge pores through the stack of papers with him.
Judge: So Danica, could you let me know what you're asking for here?
Danica nearly peeps before Christopher Card's lawyer, Mr. Gordon, hushes her with a hand on her arm.
Mr. Gordon: Your honor, I will be representing Danica today. We are requesting 80% of the assets from wrestling entrepreneur, Felix Ziko. My client, Danica, has not worked during her adult life and cannot simply sustain herself without assistance from someone who has owned this AWF Corporation for years upon years and has made millions of dollars over the course of the time it has been open under his leadership.
Felix: Barely any of this has been profit! Because of our overhead, almost all of the money has been put into the business. We didn't have any margi-
Judge: Silence! You will be told when it is your turn to speak.
Mr. Gordon: Ms. Danica is a young woman and without financial security, she will be placed into a financially, mentally and physically dangerous environment. For someone who has turned a small business into a regional success, it would be irresponsible to not assist her as she tries to make it through.
Felix: She took my business from me! She has that com-
Judge: Mr. Ziko! I have already spoken to you about this. Do we need to throw this case out automatically in Ms. Ziko's favor?
Felix: ...No. No, your honor.
Judge: Good. Now, Mr. Gordon, have you tried to work with Mr. Ziko?
Mr. Gordon: We have, your honor. We tried to settle in a way beneficial to both parties. Mr. Ziko has proven himself to be non-compliant. He has refused every offer that we have made. He has shown no regard for the woman he has been married with for so long, and clearly has no interest in her welfare.
Judge: Mr. Ziko, is this true?
Felix: It's not!
Judge: Oh? Which offer have you accepted?
Felix: I haven't. I mean... I do have interest in her welfare.
Mr. Gordon: Just not enough to actually help her support herself, right? Just good wishes and hoping she gets a winning lottery ticket?
Felix: No, I mean...
Mr. Gordon: Mr. Ziko, what have you actually done to help your soon-to-be ex-wife?
Felix: Her? Why is it always about her? Danica is a bully! She stole my company from me!
Judge: Mr. Gordon, is this true?
Mr. Gordon: No, your honor. He gave her the AWF Corporation out of his own free will.
Felix: Free will? She coerced me! Intimidated me! She attacked me!
Mr. Gordon: Your honor, please look at the two parties here. There is nearly a three foot difference in height and 300 pounds in weight. There is absolutely no way that
this person who is not only a man, but is a man triple the size of most men is afraid of someone that he has been financially neglecting for years upon years.
Judge: Alright. I've heard enough. Obviously we have a lot more to discuss here, but we'll stop for now. We'll continue this later on. Hopefully, we will be able to find some sort of...
The judge eyes Felix.
Judge: ...compromise the next time we meet again.
The screen fades to black as Felix's eyes grow big, his lips quivering.
The rapid start of "REVIVER" starts to blast on the speakers, bringing the crowd onto their feet as Raiden strides out onto the stage, pausing at the top of the ramp to look around at the crowd. Nodding to himself, he proceeds down the ramp, slapping hands with some of the fans before rolling into the ring. Bringing himself back onto his feet, he walks over to the far corner, jumping up onto the middle turnbuckle and raising an arm into the air to loud cheers from the fans in the first few rows. Jumping down from the perch, he turns and leans back into the corner, waiting for the match to begin.
Taylor: Raiden Ishimori! This is his first time since becoming the number one contender to be in the same ring as Chris Card.
Romano: He's an underog, yes. But he was against Kuroi and he managed to win.
The lights go out as "Family Man" by Craig Campbell starts to play. A rainbow of different colored lights come back on flashing throughout the arena. The Family Man walks down the aisle shaking hands as he heads towards the ring. He slowly walks up the ring steps as he looks out among the crowd waving as he enters the ring and stands in his corner.
Taylor: Danny Ray is back. He cares about his family, and he cares about his wrestling!
Romano: He's been on a downhill slope, sure, but his determination is amazing.
The music hits as Maverick walks out from behind the curtain, the lights flashing rapidly down on him and the XHF Tag Team Championship around his waist. With a skull half-mask covering his mouth and nose, the vibe is more sinister. He makes his way to the ring, the crowd still cheering him on even if he's not too keen on them anymore.
Upon getting to ringside, he climbs to the ring apron and raises his hand with the championship in hand as he normally would, turning to the ring and then slingshotting himself over the ropes. He stands centre of the ring, pulling away the face cover off his head and [staring right at the opponent, getting in his face before walking back into his corner.
Taylor: And we have Maverick here, donning his shiny new toy.
Romano: Tommy, that is the XHF Tag Team Championship. Treat it with respect. But Maverick is here in another tag match, just not with his partner.
The wild drum fill, followed by the savage harmocina line and guitar riff of DC Sound Attack! plays as purple and white lights swirl and pulse with the beat. Chris Card walks out from the entrance gate and looks out into the crowd.
THE OPTICS OF IT ARE NOT IMPORTANT

Card takes a slow walk down to the ring and steps through the ropes as the lights change from beams to spinning spotlights to mark his presence in the ring. Card poses in the center
Taylor: The AWF Prestige Champion! And not just the champion, almost the longest AWF Prestige Champion of all time!
Romano: But he's got to stand up to Raiden. Can he stand up against the wolf?
Tag Team Match
Raiden Ishimori & Danny Ray vs. Maverick & Chris Card
Danny Ray and Raiden deliberate for a moment before deciding that Raiden will start out in the ring. Maverick just steps in and demands to get a first crack at Raiden, and Card simply smirks and extends his arm, letting Maverick have the first run. Maverick smirks, then runs across the ring and hits Raiden with a clubbing blow before the referee can even call for the bell. The fans start to boo as Maverick hits Raiden with a second blow. He then spins him around and hoists Raiden into the air, slamming him down to the mat with a snap suplex. The fans continue to boo as Danny Ray stands on the apron and yells in the ring at Maverick, who waves him off dismissively. Maverick then turns around and grabs hold of Raiden, driving his knee into his ribs.
Taylor: This is not fair! The match hadn't even started yet!
Romano: Leave it to Maverick and Card to take every advantage that comes their way. This is why Danica picked them.
Raiden remains doubled over in pain as Maverick shakes his head slowly. He pushes the referee and tells him to call for the bell. DING DING DING! The match is officially under way. Danny yells in the ring to try and support his partner as Maverick turns his attention toward The Family Man and yells something the camera can’t pick up. The fans in the front row gasp as Maverick shakes his head. He tries to turn his attention back toward Raiden, but Raiden immediately reacts by hitting Maverick with an enziguiri! The impact sends him stumbling as Raiden bounces off of the ropes and hits Maverick with a rolling savate kick! The fans are on their feet as Raiden quickly hooks the leg and picks up the…
ONE!
TWO!
Maverick kicks out!
Taylor: Maverick's carelessness nearly ended this one early!
Romano: We've seen Maverick get up off of a stretcher to return to the fight, Tommy, it's gonna take more than a couple of kicks to put him away.
Raiden points over to Chris Card and motions to an invisible title belt around his waist, much to the amusement of the Prestige Champ on the apron. He grabs hold of Maverick and drags him up to his feet, delivering a series of quick strikes to try and wear him down further. Romano: If this is a preview of Raiden and Card at Clash of the Icons, it's not looking good for The Lone Wolf of Osaka!
Taylor: Admittedly, Chris Card won't have Maverick in his corner to soften him up first, though...

Danny blocks the attempt and manages to slide down behind Maverick, getting a blind tag from Raiden in the process! Maverick misses the tag and hits Danny with a clothesline. Danny hits the mat hard, leading Raiden to bounce off the ropes to follow up. However, he's completely blindsided by Raiden as he waylays him with a as Raiden immediately bounces off of the ropes and hits Maverick with a flying forearm smash!
Taylor: Smart thinking by Raiden!
Romano: Maverick was locked in on Danny and didn't even notice the tag. That was almost...
Taylor: Card-like?
Romano: Yeah. Good to see the challenger thinking smart.
Raiden grabs hold of Maverick and drags him back up to his feet. He gets him into position for a Climhazzard, though Maverick responds by shoving Raiden away from him. He runs Raiden over toward his corner of the ring as Card hits him in the mouth with an elbow smash! Raiden gets dazed as Maverick takes a few steps back. Raiden takes another elbow strike from Card, staggering him as he turns back towards the center of the ring. Maverick takes a few steps back and then BOOM! Hits him in the mouth with an Iconkick!

KICKOUT!
Danny gets a shoulder up and Card looks annoyed. Card rolls off of Danny and gets back to his feet, turning to drag Danny back up. Danny pushes Card's hands away, escaping the grapple, and quickly drives a shoulder into Card's chest to buy him some time. Danny runs the ropes and comes back at Card, who ducks a lariat attempt. Both men hit the ropes and bounce back towards the middle of the ring, where Card meets Danny and drags him over with a hip toss. Danny Ray tumbles into his corner and crash lands on the mat. Danny looks up at his partner, a bit in a fog. Raiden locks eyes with Card. Card smirks and motions to Danny, taking a step back as if to say, "go ahead". Danny reaches up and slaps the hand of Raiden, who climbs into the ring. Card and Raiden stand across the ring, staring each other down, as the crowd starts to buzz with electricity and anticipation.
Taylor: This is it! We know these two are gonna face off one on one at Clash of the Icons for the Prestige Title!
Romano: And now we get a little preview...
Raiden and Card circle each other for a moment, carefully sizing each other up. They both go into the middle of the ring together, locking up collar-and-elbow. Card goes to wrap up Raiden's head, but Raiden sees it coming and wraps his arms around Card's arms, locking them in place. Both men have no free hands, so Raiden hauls back and headbutts the ever living snot out of Card! Card is stunned, and in a flash, Raiden lets go of his arms and wraps up Card's head into a muay thai clinch! The crowd starts to clap and Raiden drives a knee into Card's midsection... then another knee... then another knee... then another knee! Raiden has the champ where he wants him as he pulls him into a front facelook and unceremoniously drops him on the mat with a sitout suplex slam.
Romano: Damn! The challenger means business.
Raiden sees that Card is still down, but he isn't done yet. He drags Card up onto his shoulders and starts charging for the corners, brutally slamming Card upside down into the corner with the Greased Lightning! As Card hits the corner, Maverick sneakily reaches out and slaps him on the back, making the tag. Card crumples to the ground near his corner and Raiden turns back, getting back up off the mat and grabbing Card by the head. Raiden drags him to the middle of the ring. With Card in the right position, Raiden goes to the legs and slides into position... LOCKING IN THE BONE COLD SEAL!!! Card tries to roll around to get out of the move but Raiden, a fierce fire in his eyes, keeps him on his back. Card flails his arms wildly, trying to escape the move. But the referee isn't down checking on Card. He's looking elsewhere.
Taylor: I don't think Raiden saw the sly tag that Maverick made...

Maverick jumps up and STOMPS THE SHIT out of Raiden's head with the Down to Earth!! Raiden releases the hold, letting Card roll away and get out of the ring. Raiden is able to shake off the stomp and starts to stand up, not quite sure where he is, still trying to process what happened. The referee drops to count and doesn't notice Maverick grabbing a fistful of Raiden's black and crimson tights!

Raiden manages to kick out of the pin, but it's a millisecond too late. The bell rings.
Taylor: No! Maverick stole it!
Romano: What's Drago doing out here?
Taylor: Backing up his Icon brother, of course. Those two are inseparable.
Jessie Love: Here are your winn--
Jessie doesn't even have time to make her announcement, as Raiden charges at Maverick, pissed. Maverick ducks the rage from Raiden and baseball slides out of the ring under the bottom rope. Raiden turns and watches as Drago gives Danny one last kick in the gut for good measure and then makes his escape up the ramp with Maverick. "Inception" blares through the speakers. Raiden slowly turns and glares over at ringside, where Card has finally made it to his feet and has retrieved his Prestige Title. Card holds the title in one arm while he catches his breath, but Raiden never takes his eyes off of the champ as we cut away from the action.
Darkness looms. The crowd steers while sitting in the void. Suddenly, a voice booms from the speakers:
"Tap!"
"Nap!"
"Snap!"
"Choose Wisely!"
After a few moments of stirring, light bell ringing, and crowd reaction, FEVER 333's blazing rifts begin. These sounds synchronize with red lights aiming for the ring curtain, which display the back of Drago's heavily tattooed body, and the X his arms are crossed in above his head. Drago whips around to face the audience, then begins his strut to the ring.
Taylor: Here's the XHF Phoenix Champion himself, Drago!
Romano: It's his first defense, and he's against two men.
I WAS BORN IN THE SOUL OF MISERY
AND I NEVER HAD ME A NAME
THEY JUST GAVE ME A NUMBER WHEN I WAS YOUNG
Bloodbath McGrath strides out into the arena to the sound of his theme music and the roaring rumble of many an anticipant Gorrorcore junkie. Pausing a moment at the top of the ramp, Bloodbath leans forward at the waist and points a finger toward the ring. A warning some would say. The Bastard Butcher then takes to the ring, so focused and enthralled by Gorrorcore visions that he fails to notice ringside fans who want a picture or who slap him on the back. Sliding into the ring, Bloodbath takes to one side where he lurches his torso over the ropes and roars at the crowd. The photo opportunity over, the Butcher takes to his corner and stoically awaits the freeing sound of the bell.
Taylor: Two men?
Romano: Yeah, you're right. A man and a monster.
"Bump-N-Grind" by R.Kelly begins playing. Once the chorus to the song begins, six scantily clad women come out from the back with "Guttertrash" Greg Adkins in the middle of them all. He thrusts his pelvis as the women dance around him.
Taylor: Can't he settle on a theme song?
Romano: Why should he have to? So long as he picks unclaimed songs...
One of the girls backs that ass up against Greg Adkins and begins grinding against his crotch.
Taylor: You think that Greg remembers that he's supposed to head down to the ring?
Romano: No. Would you?
However, when Greg begins to put his hands on the girl's bottoms and starts to take them down, the referee gets a microphone.
Jessie Love: Greg! Get down to the ring or be disqualified!
Greg blinks, looking down to the ring with a goofy smile.
Greg Adkins: Oops, I forgot I had a match. I'll be right there.
Taylor: You think this is all an act?
Romano: If it's an act, it's a very good one.
Greg Adkins kisses each woman and cops a feel on their butt before sending them to the back. He makes his way down to the ring, the fans booing and pointing out his obvious boner pitching a tent in his ring tights that Greg doesn't bother trying to hide.
Taylor: A monster and a pervert.
Romano: And I don't even know why we're saying the same thing over and over again.
XHF Phoenix Championship
Drago (c) vs. Bloodbath McGrath vs. Greg Adkins
Taylor: Time to get down to it, Phoenix Championship on the line! Who'll walk out with the title in this huge Main Event? Let's find out.
Romano: My money's on Drago, I hate people who spoil "Avengers: Endgame" and that's exactly what Adkins done!
Taylor: ...
The bell rings and the match is underway, McGrath looking to bring some pain to Adkins with some closed fist strikes to the gut before one rocks Adkins across his jaw, sending him rolling out of the ring. Drago comes over with a hold on the leg of McGrath before sweeping the leg and applying an ankle lock and torquing the ankle of McGrath, he's already screaming in pain as the ankle is twisted but Adkins comes in with a Boot to the face of Drago. Drago doesn't take too kindly to that kick and connects a Step-Up Enziguri to the head of Adkins but Adkins wraps his arms around the waist of Drago... but one arm slips down between the legs of Drago and Adkins grabs a handful of crotch and sends Drago flying over his head with a Crotch-plex. Adkins proceeds to lick the hand he used on Drago, then bringing two fingers up to his mouth and lips between the fingers, the tongue comes out and it's wiggling like it's nothing. Drago looks on in disgust, he looks like he wants to throw up.
Taylor: That was vile, Roma- Romano? You gave up two minutes in? Welp, looks like I have to go solo on this one.
Adkins goes for a running boot to the downed champion but he's tripped by Drago and falls onto the second ropes, Drago then runs to the ropes and heads back to Adkins with a Bicycle Knee that strikes the back of Adkins' head. McGrath, struggling to stand with the twisted ankle, comes at Drago with a clubbing Elbow to the temple of Drago that knocks him back into the corner. McGrath heads over to Drago and knocks some sense into the Champion with some Back Elbows into the head. He walks away from Drago, shaking the ankle as he runs into him with a Splash followed by a Over-the-head Belly to Belly Suplex that sends Drago half way across the ring. Adkins perches himself onto the second rope and catches McGrath with a Bulldog, a pin is made on McGrath.
...One!
And the Bastard Butcher kicks out with ease, McGrath gets to his feet but Adkins was waiting patiently... Alabama Slam by Adkins. Drago comes running in with a Corkscrew Kick that rocks Adkins as he falls, Drago then brings his attention to the still-proned McGrath and brings him to his feet in position for the Heavy Metal Poisoning but McGrath grabs Drago by the throat and is out of the move. McGrath lifts him up for the chokeslam but Drago moves out of the way, but Adkins comes running at McGrath who flings him up high and as he falls, Adkins is hit with a European Uppercut.
Taylor: Meat-Seeking Missile! Bloodbath connects the Pop Up European Uppercut!
But Drago connects a German Suplex on the 293 pound man, bringing him down onto his neck. Drago then takes advantage of the downed Adkins and locks him into a Mounted Armbar but Adkins rolls him over, face down onto the mat and one of Drago's arms brought between his legs, he then brings his other arm through to complete the Paradise Lock and places a foot on the stuck Drago, who's struggling to break free from the hold. Adkins then proceeds to mount himself onto Drago and begins to dry hump the Champion, to which he finds pleasure in doing.
Taylor: Oh my god, the Paradise Lock is now just a Pleasure Lock to Adkins! He looks to blow his load!
McGrath then comes in with a lethal Forearm attack to the back of Adkins' head, he then lifts Adkins up in a Back Suplex maneuver but he tosses Adkins forward into the turnbuckle, back first into the top turnbuckle goes Adkins and then sickeningly landing on his neck as he falls. McGrath then turns his attention to Drago, he deadlifts him with ease with a Gutwrench lift and drops him down with a Gutbuster, he calls it the Spew-Plex. He lets go of Drago, who rolls onto the mat, and then hooks the leg and holding down one shoulder.
...One!
...Two!
Drago kicks out with the free shoulder, McGrath then lifts up Drago to his feet and runs to the ropes and then back at Drago with momentum, looking to connect a Discus Clothesline but Drago ducks it and rebounds off the ropes and runs at McGrath but slides between his legs and also grabbing both legs of McGrath, bringing him down to the mat. Drago then grabs the arms of McGrath and locks in the Cattle Mutilation on McGrath, he begins to wrench the arms forward and looks to even break the arms of McGrath.
Taylor: If Drago keeps this hold in, he might retai-
Romano: Sorry about that, did I miss much?
Taylor: Where have you been?!
Romano: I might have eaten a lot today, maybe I wasn't ready for Akdins' antics as I thought I was.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear, Adkins comes in with a stomp to the chest of Drago and breaks the hold. Adkins then throws Drago over the ropes and he falls onto the floor, Adkins slides under the bottom rope and then reaches under the ring, pulling out a Steel Chair. The fans chant for tables, and Adkins goes searching for one. Once he pulls it out (not his dick, you sick fuck) the fans loudly cheer. He sets the table up at ringside and then goes looking for the chair he had, he finds it as it lands on the top of his skull, the cracking sound echoes through the building. With it being a Triple Threat, the rules don't come into play and Drago goes to work on Adkins with the chair before heading into the ring and looking to do the same to McGrath but he's hit with a Big Boot from Bloodbath, the chair connecting the face of the Champ. McGrath connects another Spew-Plex and leaves Drago laying in the middle of the ring. McGrath looks to the corner and then heads to the turnbuckles, turning around and lifting himself up the ropes until he's on the second where he brings his feet over the ropes and onto the metal holders that keeps the ropes connected, he then brings one foot on the top rope but as he does Drago hurls the chair to the head of McGrath with stuns him and brings him seated on the top rope. Drago heads up to the second rope, looking to hit a Superplex on McGrath but he's pushed off. Drago then picks up the chair and swings it...
CRACK!
Romano: Good lord!
Taylor: That was vicious!
The chair connects to the top of McGrath and he wears it like a neck brace, Adkins is seen climbing onto the ring apron as Drago is looking to once again hit that Superplex, he brings one arm over his head but Adkins is now climbing the ropes from the outside, throwing some strikes to the Champion. Adkins grabs the hair of Drago and slams his head onto the chair that McGrath still wears around his head. Adkins then brings one foot onto the top and flings himself over Drago and hits a Sunset Flip Powerbomb to Drago! He then goes back onto the ring apron and puts McGrath onto his shoulders in a Fireman's Carry position, he's barely able to keep the big man on his shoulders but has the power to hit a Death Valley Driver on McGrath though the table at ringside! Bloodbath crashes straight through as the table near disintegrates upon impact.
Taylor: McGrath is down, and it may be the best for these two.
Romano: They both weigh 100 to 130 less than Bloodbath so it's ideal.
Adkins gets himself onto the ring apron and raises his arms like he's won but Drago then climbs onto the second rope and grabs the waist of Adkins, lifting him up high...
Taylor: No way!
Romano: Is he nuts?!
...AND DROPS HIM DOWN TO THE MAT WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX FROM THE SECOND ROPE! ADKINS LANDS DIRECTLY ON THE TOP OF HIS HEAD! Drago then mounts himself and locks in an armbar onto Adkins. He grabs one finger...
Romano: No, no, no... Not the...
SNAP!
Taylor: The Finger Breaker!
He snaps the finger of Adkins, he screams in agony. Drago then grabs another finger...
SNAP!
Romano: Oh no! Not again!
Taylor: He'll never stop until they're all broken.
Another finger...
SNAP!
And another is broken. Drago then grabs one more but McGrath somehow is back in the ring and sends himself into Drago with a Crossbody and Adkins finds a way to keep Drago on his shoulders as he still has the Armbar locked in.
...One!
...Two!
...Thr- Kickout!
Drago powers out but is down, McGrath then comes in with a Discus Clothesline but Adkins ducks it, reaches into his trunks and swings at McGrath with something that connects across the jaw. He then holds it up to the crowd and it was a purple Dildo.
Romano: I knew that bulge wasn't his.
McGrath once again runs at Adkins but Adkins sticks the dildo into the mouth of McGrath and hits a Superkick to McGrath but Drago grabs Adkins and sends him over the ropes and then grabs McGrath in position for...
Taylor: HMP! Heavy Metal Poisoning!
Romano: Drago's going to steal it from Adkins!
Drago hooks the tree trunk leg of McGrath...

Jessie Love: Here is your winner, and STILL XHF Phoenix Champion... DRAGO!
Taylor: Drago is the champion and he's going places!
Romano: Both of the AWF Icons have gotten their victories. The question becomes, what's next for them? But that's a question solved another time. For right now, we must come to a close. My name is Cassius Romano.
Taylor: And I'm Tommy Taylor!
