Emily walked down the creepy, moss covered corridor. She proceeded down a set of steel grated stairs. At the bottom she stood before a huge steel door. It was adorned with a large locking mechanism. Above the door was a heavily weathered sign. It read “Caleb’s Room” She slowly turned the antique key that was in the lock and pushed it open. Emily, Caleb’s cousin was down here to go over the former RSW Tag Champions proper singles debut in the company. Dressed in her usual dark Goth crossed with a cheerleader clothing she walked straight into his little apartment within the Koresh Compound.
A large shrine made of animal bones sat to one side and what looked like a human skull sat on it. A ratty couch, with rat bones scattered over it, was directly behind it. The fluorescent lights, old and flickering, barely lit his hellhole, but Caleb didn’t care really care about lights these days.
He was close to seven foot tall, and he probably weighed at least four hundred and twenty five Pounds. His skin was cracked and mottled, covered over with scales that made him look as if evolution had worked its way backward, creating the perfect hybrid of man and dinosaur. Though he looked as if he should be raging, roaring like a beast, he was calm, and quiet, and even reflective whilst he sat on the sofa.
“Emily,” he said as he saw her enter. “What can I do for you? Why are you here? Does Nocturnal know that you’re here?”
“Here?” she smirked. “I ain’t a kid like Summer; I can do whatever I want to honey bunny. I’m here to tell you that we’re going to have fun this week. I’ve wrestled in singles matches and they are much, much more fun than tag matches. You will have so much fun and then know that I will be in your corner as you know that Noccie’s too busy booking matches for Pandemonium and getting talent to appear at Anarchy 50. I’ve heard he’s even reached out to some of the Destiny Wrestling Federation guys; most of them are passed it but would be fun to see him destroy them once again; oh, he could do a SIX reunion match. Did you see he’s got the asshole Johnny Stylez back? Oh I’ve never forgiven him and those other guys for that night.”
“Emily, chill, we’ve not got this week’s show out of the way just yet,” Caleb said. “I’m going to get my chance this week at stepping out of your brother’s shadow. For years all we’ve heard of is about how he’s the Patriarch of the family because he’s like fifteen times World Champion but now the monster is released. I need to show the world that I’m not just this pretty face you all see.”
“You’re going to do alright Caleb,” Emily said. “But you’ve not got to let this week’s victim get passed you. He is this weirdo freak but he can go.”
“It had been a long time since I had competed competively within the confines of the squared circle,” Caleb said. “After I had been in the ring with one of my fellow Koresh Family stable mates and he’d been pinned losing us the RSW Tag Championship belts the whole wrestling thing had spiralled out of control. I couldn’t even get any retribution on those that beat us as we’d been put out of commission by the members of the Arab Nations. Luckily for their sakes that they’re not around anymore otherwise this monster would be making an example of them.”
Emily nodded as she was used to her cousins talking a lot.
“How things had changed since my departure from the wrestling world,” Caleb said. “Many of those that had run with the Koresh Family are no longer a part of Riot Star Wrestling; not that many of them could have hung with the family but it is a shame for them to not have felt the wrath of someone that really is someone that they should have been afraid of. But now times have got serious once again.”
“You can do this Caleb,” Emily interjected. “You just need to believe in yourself like I do. You are more than what you see in the mirror.”
“The King of Monsters may look like some reptilian kaiju but people forget that being part of the Koresh Family comes with responsibilities,” he said as he looked at his cousin. “When my cousin took the control of Riot Star Wrestling from Frank Windsor it was inevitable before he called me back to enforce his control. Nocturnal has his eyes everywhere in the company but he needed people he trusted to enforce his authority. And nothing is more trustworthy than blood. Blood is everything to the Koresh Family and that is why I heeded his call. He could have chosen you, he could have even gone with Cain but in the end he chose me.”
Emily nodded. “That’s better; don’t go against Alexander’s words. That has turned out bad for family in the past. Remember our cousin Jebediah?”
“Jebediah?” asked Caleb as he stood up. “Of course I do I talk things over with him all the time Emily. You’d be surprised at some of the advice he’s given me through our times alone.”
He reached over and picked up the human skull from the altar.
“We talk about all the good times,” he said as he kind of smirked. “There was this one time when we were kids when these two locals tried to sneak onto the compound to see if the rumours about our family were freaking true. Oh that was a great twenty four hours of fun we had with them. Don’t think they’d say the same though but you could go and ask them. I think they’re in the orchard somewhere.”
“It’s crazy how things change but stay the same Caleb,” Emily said. “But it’s time to get us back on track for the time of our legacy. So tell me some stuff.”
“You know that when I was born as you can tell I didn’t have that good a childhood. After I ripped myself clear of my birth mother’s belly I had to justify myself amongst all of the other children of the Koresh Family,” he said. “With my condition usually in the real world that would hold someone down; it would be a disadvantage but in our family it is the opposite. Our family all lived here on this compound so my childhood is quite intriguing; let me fill you in about something about the monster I became as I know that you were a kid when it all went down so you probably don’t know most of it. Growing up it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies for me like it was for you. Our family taught me how to be the monster I am. The family taught me that everything that I would love in life, sooner or later, was going to wither away and die.”
Emily looked bored with this history lesson of her own family.
“Well look at me now,” he smirked as he grinded his sharpened teeth in anger. “I could be just like some of those poster boy wrestlers in the locker room; I could sign autographs and kiss babies and make sure that everyone buys all my merchandise. I could be the man in that has the main event spot given to me. I could take everything I fear and hide behind some sort of comedic attitude. But I’d rather be myself; the monster that I am. Now that I’ve grown into the monster that I was supposed to be it can become fun times once again. With Nocturnal now being the man I need to really take control of my own destiny but living like a monster has its advantages. It was what I was meant to be don’t you think Emily? My opponent this week is screwed. I shall make him my lunch. When I put my hands around his head and put my thumbs in his eye sockets and squeeze he will have no option to tap out otherwise I’d crush his whole head like a water melon.”
“Joe Beb may look like some perverted old man much like Ryan Pugh was,” Emily said with a look of disgust on her face as she couldn’t believe she’d been in some kind of weird relationship with that obese former wrestler. “Joe Beb seems to be quite talented so don’t underestimate him.”
“I cannot tell if you’re being serious or not,” Caleb said as he looked into the face of Emily. “That old timer going to get his dick broken off and shoved up his own freaking ass. But to be honest I’d think that sadist Joe would get off on that if he could without his dick, but the rest of the roster won’t like me being unleashed but they will each get theirs.”
Emily nodded. “That they will Caleb. We will rend the flesh from their carcasses. If they think their reality will win then they will have a rude awakening. Do they know what they have unleashed? They have unleashed the ultimate evil; they have awakened the Chaos in the King of the Monsters. People thought that Alexander had settled into the niche that they he had made for himself when he took charge of this company but you will be breaking out of that Caleb.”
“They believe that he is but a former manipulator of the weak but look what he has been doing as of late,” Caleb said. “What he did to those Bastards guys was genius. Getting them to give up their shares of the company was amazing. Now I have to build on it.”
“Yes Caleb,” Emily smirked. “Yes, and taking out Captain Boner will be a great start. He is a disgusting throwback to those wrestlers that thought they were it. Think of the worse aspects of Hunter Valentyne and PT Merciless and feed that creation a bucket load of Viagra. Horrible thought isn’t it?”
“Unleash me and I will take out the whole of this company,” Caleb said. “They think that they are unstoppable because they’ve got to fifty Anarchy shows. Their arrogance I can smell from a mile away, it physically makes me retch. They bring their own vision of terror to the company much like the reality terrorists that they are. Our vision of terror for them will be much more subtle. We play with their heads. A mind fuck is more powerful than breaking their bones.”
“Which is why we will unleash the King of the Monsters on them Caleb,” Emily said as she touched Caleb on the arm. “They don’t know what they have done. The monster is amongst them and they act like they are a part of the Kardashians or Real Housewives of Chicago. Reality is but a figment of their very vivid imagination. Those boys will get what’s coming to them one way or another.”
Caleb stood up and stretched out to his full height. He grinned with his sharpened teeth. “Time has come for us to fight back. Their world is done Emily. Soon the greatness of the Koresh family will not only be running Riot Star Wrestling, transforming the whole of this promotion into an arena of pain and tribulation but we will. When this happens, I will bring you all of the roster’s heads on stakes.”
“So we’ve got the fiftieth Anarchy coming up Caleb,” Emily said. “This anniversary show seems to be having all of the old timers raising up from the grave in yet another attempt to regain their lime light. Aurora’s supposed to be competing which will be fun. Maybe even I’ll put my boots on one more time and bring the violence to someone. I may ask Alexander if we can do something as a family, now that would be fun right Caleb? Me, you, Aurora, Cain, maybe even Alex himself getting into it with someone, right?”
“That would be fun,” Caleb nodded. “But have you got anyone in mind to bring that destruction down on?”
“What about that triad of mediocracy that thinks that they are all singularly the greatest icons for the dark gimmick?” Emily asked. “You know who I mean right? The three wrestlers who have singlehandedly become the laughing stocks of this industry. I would be like Godzilla wrestling against a Haribo sweet.”
“Who are this team of trash that you are talking about?” Caleb muttered. “Your description could be any of the dark gimmicked wrestlers we’ve faced over the years.”
“Nocturnal had beef with one of them following him around the world over a decade ago,” Emily said. “Remember he had to fake his own death to get away from his insidiously begging for rematch after rematch?”
“Hell’s Bouncer?” laughed Caleb. “Is that fat fuck still around? I’m surprised we didn’t take him out for good back in the days; he was like this parasitic life form that we couldn’t get rid of; hell he was like coon shit on the boot that the more we scraped it on the grass it spread even more on the boot. And the other two?”
“That geriatric, gimmick stealing, asshole Devin Stone,” Emily said with a smirk on her face. “And the other one would be his sometimes nemesis Dravaka Drimstone, don’t laugh, could you imagine all the violence that we can do to those pathetic excuse for human beings?”
“We could but problem is can they sneak out of the retirement homes?” Caleb said. “Hell, Bouncer can’t sneak anywhere can he? We should be concentrating on getting credible opponents to face there as a family. What about if this week we did something that we could drag some of the other old timers BUT credible ones out of retirement?”
“But you need to get passed your opponent at Anarchy 49 first,” Emily said. “Once we’ve got you passed Joe Beb then we can look at the future. He is an anomaly in this promotion. Sometimes he shows to the world that he can be a world class athlete, an idiot but a world class athlete but then other times he seems to be phoning his performance in. Get over the shitty gimmick and beat the living hell out of the moron.”
“That it the truth Emily,” Caleb said as he looked into the empty eye sockets of their cousin Jebediah’s skull which he had in his left hand. “I will destroy the moron and prove to the world why the King of the Monsters is going straight to the top.”
“What the hell we got going on in here?” a voice said out of the darkness. “Seems like we’ve got some family meeting going on and nobody invited me to the party.”
Nocturnal walked into the light. He caressed his beard as he walked up. The mask that he wore hung from his belt.
“Seems like I need to keep my finger on the pulse when it comes to the family,” Nocturnal said as he looked at his sister before he turned to the monster Caleb. “I’m bringing you in as my enforcer cous, not that I can’t beat any of those bitches on my roster but I don’t have eyes in the back of my head…..well unless I staple some to the back of my head. So I need you to watch for that punk D as he’s a royal pain in my ass lately, especially as he’s still got it in his head that he beat Shane Mitchell for the World Championship. The bitch needs to get a grip and get with the freaking programme.”
“Okay,” Caleb nodded. “We’ll take it to them if they step over the line; and I’ll bite their goddamn heads off of their bodies for the family.”
“Good,” Nocturnal said with his best sadistic smile upon his face. “Put Jebediah back down and let’s go and get this thing started.”
