*Following a lengthy intro video/montage for the event featuring all the various annual celebration highlights of past Cruiserfest winners from the inaugural '02 match through the present day one in '09, from Chyna in 2002, to "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels in 2003, to Triple Quake in 2005, and finally to one La Parka back in July 2006, we open up live to the night's frenzied, sold out arena crowd of over 19,000 XHF fans in Miami with the Overheated event banner being displayed on the Xtreme-Tron, explosions going off all over the place and the official show theme of "Far From Over" by Rev Theory playing swiftly across the building's PA System. We then zoom in even further on ringside moments later and the background music dies down completely as our usual commentators Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler eventually cut in and the much anticipated in-ring action soon begins on this year's edition of the Overheated broadcast....*
*Syco's theme booms through the arena and he walks out from behind the curtain shortly thereafter as Overeated '09 formally gets underway. Fire shoots up in front of him and he walks through it not feeling a thing. He continues to the ring patting out the flames that burst up on his clothing. He slides into the ring and waits for his opponent.*
King: Ewww.... the hell is that?
Cole: Syco.
King: Not only is he fugly but a terrible speller.
*The lights in the arena dim to almost blackness and "I'm your villain" by Franz Ferdinand spills from the speaker system. A golden spotlight plays slowly across the entrance way until it comes to rest on the figure of Fulton Davies, he stands facing the entrance curtain while the first minute of his music plays.
"You toss in a word
and I'm your villain
I see the passion emerge
and I'm your villain
But serious
You're so serious
Like a waiter
Hating the rich
But taking their tips"
As the crowd start to lose patience he spins on his heel and casts a contemptuous gaze over the arena, his arms cast outwards as he makes a beckoning motion with his hands, almost encouraging venom and bile from the crowd.
"If I could laugh I'd love you
If I could smile at anything you said
We could be laughing lovers
I think you'd prefer to be miserable instead
If I could love I'd love you
If I could love like anybody else"
He smirks slightly and performs a mocking bow to the crowd, holding the pose for several seconds before straightening up and sauntering towards the ringside area. He keeps his focus fixed solely ahead, ignoring the reactions from the crowd at his sides be they positive, neutral or negative. Once he reaches the ring he tugs off the coat and slides under the bottom rope into the corner, for a second he simply lays prone before raising to his knees and then, languidly, up to his feet. After casting his gaze over the crowd once more he moves to the nearest corner to await the start of the match.*
King: This guy looks like a total dick...
Cole: I agree and....
King: No... no... that's a good dick.
Cole: ....
King: Go fwapp to harry potter.

"Junior Ace" Fulton Davies vs. Syco
______________________________
Syco walks to the middle of the ring to meet and gaze at Davies. He turns his head and then sticks his tongue out. He looks away and then elbows Syco in the mouth. It sends him back.... but then he comes forward and elbows him back. Syco doesn't move and instead he tries to return the favor. Davies ducks and stomps on the foot of Syco. As Syco turns around he grabs him around the waist. Syco throws elbows back but Davies does his best to avoid them. Davies picks him up and delivers an atomic drop which does nothing. Syco uses the momentum to bounce off the ropes and shoulder tackle Davies. Davies stays down as Syco comes back and drops the elbow. He rolls... Syco gets back up and tries it again but Davies rolls. He puts his feet on the outside and then yanks Syco's feet out from under him. Davies jumps on the apron and springboards off the top and lands across the face of Syco. He rolls around in pain while grabbing his face.
Cole: Fear is what Syco is trying to use against Davies thus far.
King: The only thing Syco is scaring is the future children that Davies will plant. When they get born, trust me they're crying because they remember this man's face.
Cole: That's a mask though.
King: Shut up.
Davies has a bit of momentum here, as he picks up Syco. Not wanting to keep the action on the mat. He throws him into the corner. Shots from his left and right hands followed by a clothesline. The referee pulls him away as it's illegal but as he gets pulled back, Syco jabs his eye with a prick. Davies bends over as Syco comes in with a knee lift, neckbreaker combo. He rolls on top of him for the pin... 1...2.. and a kickout. Syco wastes no time complaining, as he heads to the top rope. Waiting.... as Davies returns to his feet. Syco jumps and attempts to lariat him. Davies dropkicks him in the face, then grabs the arm for a armbar. As the referee is asking him, Davies fishhooks the mouth for something extra.... but the referee grants him a five count which he releases at two. Davies releases but then jumps right back at him with kicks to the back.
Cole: Typical cheating.
King: What? He was trying to reel him in. Get it... REEL HIM IN!!!!
Cole: Yea...
King: Like a fish cole.
King: YEAH I KNOW!!!!
Fulton Davies grabs his leg and begins slamming it into the mat. After the third time, he gives up and looks to apply something. As he comes in Syco headbutts him and puts him in a small package. Pins him.... 1...2... and no a kickout. Syco gets on top and begins smashes fists into his head. Even tries to bite him but Davies goes to the eyes and he lets go. Syco walks away, Davies gets up and Syco comes off the ropes and lariats him to the mat. He tries to get up but Syco pulls the hair and slams him back to the ground. Then he drops the leg on his neck. Instead of pinning him, he wraps his hands around the neck and chokes. Again we get a 5 count and he let's go at four. Syco gets in the face of the referee but does nothing. Davies gets up, clutching his throat and runs at him. Syco ducks..... Davies turns around and Syco hits a crossbody pin. For the 1.... and a kickout. Syco stomps on him repeatedly until Davies catches the leg and kicks the other one out from under him. Syco falls to his knees and Davies plants him with a Drive C DDT. Quickly jumps on him for a 1...2... and a kickout.
King: Jake Roberts is rolling around in his grave right now...
Cole: Um, he's not dead.
King: Right....
Davies grabs onto Syco and plants a few fists, which hopefully knock him out. Syco is still moving, Davies grabs him and attempts the Drive B. As he lifts him though, Syco knees him in the head. Davies dazed drops him, Syco takes a few steps back and spears Davies out of his body! Jumps on top and gets the 1...2... and a kick out.
King: Sick bastard almost ruined Davies' night.
Cole: Like how you ruin my life on a nightly basis?
King: Wait, you have a life?
Syco goes up top again. As he's waiting on an unsuspecting Davies. As he gets up and turns around... Flying lariat knocks him down again. Syco lays his arm on him... 1...2... and a kickout. Syco furiously pulls him up to his feet. Davies fights him off and Syco pushes him at the referee. The referee dodges it by falling but as Syco comes in. Davies goes below the belt with a knee and it stuns him. Syco drops to his knees, Davies hits the ropes and smacks him with a shining enzuiguri to the back of the head. Davies goes to pin but the referee is still recovering. He pounds on the mat, as he crawls over and makes the 1... and a kick out. Davies just looks at him. He wants to punch him in the face but doesn't.
King: If only our referees were like the ones in Mexico. They stand and make the count.
Cole: That's not a fair count.
King: If they're obese referees, would you rather them have heart attacks? YEAH EXACTLY!
He looks back at Syco, who hits an enzuigiri of his own. Davies flops to the the mat. Syco wastes no time, he picks him up and attempts the lightening spiral. He blocks it by flipping back, Syco thinks he hit it. As he gets back up however, he turns directly into the Drive B(Queen Bee Bomb)! He nails it perfectly this time and goes right away for the pin: 1...2....3!
Winner via Pinfall: Fulton Davies!
Cole: And Fulton Davies has done it, he's emerged on top here tonight in his second match with the company!
King: A key momentum building victory for sure Cole, so I certainly look forward to seeing where the youngster Fulton goes from here as a result.
*"You Don't Know" by Eminem, 50 Cent, Ca$hi$ and Lloyd Banks strikes the speakers as the fans rush to their feet and we cut back in from the first break of the evening momentarily, an undoubtable superstar being on the verge of making his entrance to American Airlines Arena. Spinning pyro goes off on the side of the entrance ramp, while a large booming pyro goes off centre stage and Platinum steps out from the smoke with his Calgary Flames jersey and sideways Flames baseball cap. He stands at the top of the ramp, showing off a platinum "P" hanging from a chain around his neck. He makes his way to the ring, and dives under the bottom rope, running to the far corner and springboarding himself to the top rope where he again shows off the chain. He jumps down and faces his opponent, ready to go.*
Cole: Here comes Platinum, King. He's got to be more motivated than ever for this match, considering the levels of retribution he must yearn for after Tara's brutal attack on him just weeks ago.
King: I don't know about that, he put Tara in an amulance at In the Oven just days ago, so I'd say he's already got his retribution.
*The lights all quickly flicker out thereafter, as the introduction of "Undead" by Hollywood Undead begins to play. The blue lights cause a reflection all around the arena as the crowd boos waiting for the arrival of Tara Fenix. "Undead" is heard screaming as her theme plays over the audio system.
"Undead! Undead! Undead! Undead! Undead! You better get up out the way! Tomorrow we'll run, so let's fight today! And no, I don't give a fuck what you think and say, 'cause we are gonna rock this whole place anyway."
The instrumentals begin to pick up a little more, as the crowd boos louder waiting for Tara still. The XtremeTron is showing clips of famous matches that Tara had competed in many coming in at a time. Still Tara Fenix had not emerged to the crowd. They kept waiting as the lights began to brighten a little more each time as the first verse plays, and the lights can be seen slowly dimming. After a few seconds into the song fireworks begin to shoot off at the stage, and Tara finally comes out from behind the curtains staring out at the crowd that is still booing her. Her hand is raised in the air, showing off the devil horns. Her name was booed throughout the entire arena as she began to make her way down to the ring, dressed in her wrestling attire and sunglasses were hiding her eyes. The chorus of the song comes back over the audio while Tara is walking down the ramp, shifting her glance to each side barricade with fans shouting slurs at her. There was the occasional whistle out from some of the fans. Tara climbs the steel steps and walks towards the middle of the apron of the ring, hooking both her arms around the top rope as she stares out at the crowd. She mumbles a couple words to herself, slurs out to the crowd out of disrespect, as the crowd continues to stare, but as the words continue to go through the entire arena she finally turns towards the ring and goes between the top and middle ropes, giving a small leap to get through. Her pace is slow while she walks towards the side of the ring closest to the commentating booth, handing one of the arena workers the sunglasses, and then turning away from him while he puts the sunglasses on the timekeepers table. She just leans against the ropes while waiting to hear the sound of the bell.*
Cole: And as you pointed out, Tara should be looking to gain a certain amount of revenge as well.
King: Both of these stars hate each other, no question.

Singles Match
"The Frozen Phoenix" Tara Fenix vs. "The Money Maker" Platinum
______________________________
The bell rings, and the match begins! Tara and Platinum both begin to circle around the ring, both locking eyes on one another, and both appearing just as determined as ever. Platinum raises his arms in the air, and the two lock up in a grapple position. Almost immediately, Tara takes the easy way out by delivering a front kick to the gut of Platinum, and then delivers an arm drag, taking down the young, agile star. Platinum kips up to his feet immediately, and delivers an arm drag of his own, only this time holding the move once Tara is on the mat, and applying an arm-bar. Again the hold isn't applied for long, as Tara quickly wraps her legs around the neck of Platinum, and swings him over and down onto the mat. Both wrestlers jump to their feet immediately, in a bit of a stalemate as far as mat wrestling is concerned. The competitors lock up in a grapple, but this time it is Platinum who kicks Tara in the leg, before jerking her into a headlock. Tara struggles for a moment, but Platinum makes it clear that he's not going to allow a reversal with any ease whatsoever. He wrenches on Tara's head and neck, but after a few moments, Tara is able to lift up Platinum, and drop both their bodies backwards with a back suplex. Both competitors are down, but Tara is the first to her feet, now seething, perhaps simply irritated at her opponent.
Cole: Tara just lifted up a man!
King: Yeah Cole, she can do that. She's a pro wrestler, these people can do anything, regardless of gender.
Cole: Yeah, but... a man?
King: SHE'S INFALLIBLE.
Tara grabs Platinum, who is climbing up to his feet, and pulling his hair, drags him towards the corner. She delivers a few front kicks to the face of the hunched Platinum, and then tosses him into the turnbuckle. Again delivering a few side kicks, Tara then delivers a harsh dropkick to the abdomen of Platinum. As her opponent begins to slump towards the ground, Tara lifts him back up, and positions him on the top turnbuckle. Leaping into the air, Tara attempts a hurricanranna, but quickly Platinum catches her, and sends her flying down to the mat on her own momentum, maintaining his position on the top rope. Tara clutches her back in pain, and mounts to her feet, only to be met in mid-air with a missile dropkick from Platinum! The long-haired star gets to his feet, and gives a cocky smirk before leaping to the middle rope, and attempting a springboard moonsault onto Tara, who is able to roll out of the way.
Cole: High risk maneuver from Platinum.
King: Indeed, 'tis a shame it didn't pay off.
Cole: And that's why we call it a HIGH RISK move.
With both wrestlers grounded on the mat, they both begin to slowly work their way up to their feet. Platinum seems to recover first, and gets a running start towards Tara, and simply drives a forearm into her back, sending her flying through the middle ropes and to the outside of the ring. As Tara struggles to her feet, Platinum again gets a running start, and flies over the ropes, nailing a suicide dive on his opponent! The fans are cheering simply for the pure athletic ability displayed here, as both wrestlers again find themselves floored. The referee begins counting out both Platinum and Tara, but he only reaches the count of four before Platinum rises to his feet, and pulls Tara up, rolling her into the ring. He follows close behind, and when Tara is up to her knees, Platinum nails a sitting dropkick right into her back, sending her face first into the mat. Making the first pin attempt, Platinum rolls Tara over and pins her, hooking the leg. One...tw----kickout from Tara, before the referee can even get a two count. Standing up, rather frustrated, Platinum takes a few moments to share some choice words with the referee. In the midst of this distraction, Tara begins climbing to her feet. After Platinum is done giving the referee a piece of his mind, he turns around, only to fall victim to an enziguri from Tara!
King: And that's why you don't turn your back on your opponent.
Cole: Well, his opponent IS a woman, so I can see how he made that mistake.
King: What is it with you dissing on the females, Cole? ...Are you gay?
Cole: Not at all King, I'm simply in a particularly misogynistic mood today.
Tara, on her feet immediatly, awaits for Platinum to regain his composure. Stumbling to his feet, Platinum seems a bit groggy, and unaware that Tara is stalking him from behind. He stumbles forward, as Tara runs at him. She grabs the back of his head, and lunges forward, nailing him with a bulldog! Without wasting much time Tara is on her feet again. She takes no more than a second to smirk down at her fallen opponent, before lifting him up. She hooks both of his arms beneath her own, setting up Fenix Wings #2! She lifts Platinum up for the maneuver, and nails it! Quickly, Tara rolls Platinum over and makes the pin. One, two, thr-NO! Platinum kicks out!
Cole: Close call for Platinum there, what resilience.
King: He might be one of those twirpy, wigger, high flyer guys, but he's not an easy target.
Cole: ESPECIALLY for a wo-
King: SHUT UP COLE.
Not very phased, Tara gets up, pulling up a dazed Platinum with her. She leans Platinum into the ropes, and taps her foot on the ground, lightly. It only takes Platinum a few moments to regain his composure, and he immediately stumbles towards Tara, who goes for the Fenixide Kick! However, Platinum ducks! Tara turns around, and in a desperation move, Platinum NAILS a huge wheel kick, flooring Tara! Platinum takes a few moments to recover, and then climbs up to his feet. Tara, still not completely out of commission from the kick, begins to get up as well. Quickly Platinum delivers an irish whip, sending Tara into the corner. He sprints after her, and NAILS a body splash! As Tara stumbles out of the corner, Platinum connects with a superkick of his own!
Cole: Platinum Status! Take that, WOMAN!
King: It could be over Cole, how much more does Tara have left in the tank!
Platinum makes the cover, and the referee begins to count. One, two, wait! The referee stops the count, when he realizes that Tara's right leg is sitting on the bottom rope. Platinum sits up, and looks at the referee in a fit of confusion and anger at the same time. He holds up three fingers, proclaiming that he had Tara down for the three count. However, a huge chorus of boos begin to fill the arena, and Platinum's attention is almost immediately directed at the entrance ramp, where we see MGK slowly making his way down towards the ring.
Cole: What the hell is he doing out here?
King: Clearly checking on his partner, Cole. Don't be so uptight, I'm sure he doesn't plan on tainting this match with interference.
Cole: Oh yeah, Tara and MGK have too much integrity for that, don't they? Did you forget how this match started? They ruined a great match in Rage versus Platinum!
King: Pish posh, Cole, stop living in the past.
Platinum gets to his feet, and glares down the ramp at MGK, who only gives a malicious sneer in return. Nearing the ring side area, MGK turns his attention to Tara, something Platinum is a little too late in doing. Quickly, Platinum is rolled up from behind in a school boy pin! Tara is pulling on Platinum's tights, but the referee can't see! One, two, thr- NO! Platinum kicks out! Not injured as much as insulted, Platinum jumps to his feet, and turns, delivering several angry stomps on Tara, who wasn't quite as quick getting up from the pin, and still suffering some effects from the Platinum Status. Platinum lifts her up, and shouts some obscene comments at MGK, before knocking Tara into the ropes with a dropkick. He then pulls Tara into the center of the ring, and hits a snap suplex. Climbing to the top rope, Platinum looks to finish things off with Air Time! However, unbeknown to Platinum, Tara suddenly grabs her arm, and rolls towards the center of the ring, screaming in pain. The referee attends to Tara, trying to figure out exactly what the problem is.
Cole: Could Tara be injured here, King? This is rather unorthidox...
King: I didn't see her land on her arm awkward or anything, what's this all about?
Cole: Well, women are usually injured easier than me-
King: COLE!
With the referee's attention completely on a screaming Tara, Platinum pauses on the top rope, and turns around to see what the commotion is all about. Suddenly, his leg is JERKED out from under him, causing him to crotch himself on the top rope! Half a second later, a STEEL CHAIR CONNECTS right on the skull of Platinum! Jumping off the ring apron, MGK quickly slides the chair underneath the ring, and then casually jogs over to the other side of the ringside area, beginning to cheer Tara on once again, after having delivered the brutal chair shot to his partner's opponent! Platinum crumbles forward, but before he can fall to the mat, Tara leaps to her feet, suddenly fine again! She spins Platinum around on the top rope, leaps up, and NAILS the Siren (Sliced Bread no. 2)!!!! With Platinum down and out in the center of the ring, Tara makes the pin, and the referee counts: One, Two, Three!
Winner via Pinfall: Tara Fenix!
Cole: This isn't right, King! Platinum perhaps had the match won, and a combined effort of cheating between Tara and MGK robbed him of victory!
King: Hey, all is fair in love and war, Cole.
Cole: MGK crowned Platinum with a chair shot, there's nothing fair about that.
King: But look at Tara Cole, she's so cute when she's happy!
*As "Undead" begins to blare over the speakers, Tara rises up over her fallen opponent. Grinning, she smiles as the referee raises her arm in victory, clearly unaware of what happened. MGK slides into the ring as well, applauding his partner's victory. The two members of Emnity laugh, staring down at Platinum's unconscious body, clearly satisfied with the result of the match. After a few moments of gloating, Tara shakes her supposedly injured arm, and then MGK raises her arm in the air again, almost as proof that the arm is completely fine after all! The pair exit the ring, and make their way up the ramp and to the backstage area, being booed the entire time, but not bothered by it in the slightest.*
Cole: Is this the kind of atmosphere these two really want to create in the XHF? Cheating and lying to get a win?
King: They want what's best for the XHF Cole, and it appears that them winning is exactly that.
Cole: Yeah, in their minds. I don't like it, King.
King: No, you just don't like women!
*We then to commercial once again as a very brief but intense promo image for next month's highly anticipated Decimation event airs....*
Coming soon to a Pay-Per-View screen near YOU, live from downtown St. Louis, Missouri on Sunday, August 30th, the night in which bodies are broken, lives shattered, careers changed forever, and when utter Xtreme annihilation in every sense of the words...commences.
*Suddenly, American Airlines Arena is now plunged into total darkness as we return live to Overheated and the crowd looks on anxiously with anticipation. At this point, an ominous "clenched fist" symbol appears across the Xtreme-Tron screen and accompanied by it is the fast-paced, grinding sound of guitar riffs beginning to kick in across the building's sound system. Mere seconds later, while everyone in attendance leaps to their feet the screen abruptly shifts to pure static and the tension continues slowly building as after a flurry of drums kick in, the following words begin to echo loudly throughout the building's sound system...
"Take a good look at agony,
Force fed pass down,
Time release,
I'm inspired to find the liar,
Black list X on the back,
Of a soulfull man,
I've got way's you understand,
Look left, look right, but I'm,
Behind you,
I never noticed, until I focused,
On everything you did, you said,
You lit the fuse inside my head..."
*At the conclusion these very words, BOOM! An explosion of pyro rocks the arena to it's core and in turn the hellraising chorus of none other than "Sin With A Grin" by Shinedown cuts onto the PA system in full force. At this, the curtain flips back and without any further adieu, the sadistically smirking figure of XHF legend Rage steps out and onto the top of the stage. Thereafter, he struts fiercely on down the ramp to an overwhelming chorus of boos from the entire capacity crowd of XHF fans joining us this evening. Once reaching the ringside area and upon climbing inside the self proclaimed "Revolutionary Redneck" sets off to do his signature Four Corners Salute taunt from each and every corner of the squared circle, defiantly raising both his fists and a set of all too familiar middle fingers to the jeering crowd. Afterward he makes his way over to lean up against a corner turnbuckle facing the entrance way. From there as a sly, wily look of veteran determination crosses his face he turns his eyes upward toward the curtain, anxiously awaiting the emergence of his opposition here tonight...*
King: I can't believe this man is getting in the ring with MGK. You'd think he'd just learn to retire.
Cole: Rage was a great champion in the past! This match can still go either way!
*As the lights in the arena flicker, the fans explode into boos, knowing full well who's about to make an entrance. The blaring opening guitars of Stone Sour's "Reborn" begin to blast through the speakers, and as this happens, the following is played over the Xtreme Tron, followed by several in-ring clips of MGK facing various opponents.
Finally, MGK makes his way out from backstage, dressed in his ring attire, with black tape covering up his hands and wrists. In white, the letters KO are written on the backs of his hands on the tape. He stands on the entrance stage for a few seconds, before making his way down the ramp, occasionally stopping to glance at the ring, and the fans. He stops between the ramp and the ring, and looks up to the rafters, before slowly closing his eyes. A few angry fans can be heard yelling insults at him, but he ignores them completely and his gaze falls upon the ring. He then gets onto the ring apron, and enters the ring. Dropping down to one knee in the center of the ring, he crosses his arms over his chest to form an X, as a blue spotlight falls down on him alone, the rest of the arena caught up in darkness. MGK then stands up and pounds his chest, warranting a series of boos from the audience. As MGK begins to pace the ring, his music fades, and he goes to his corner and begins to hop up and down silently as he waits for the match to begin.*
King: No one as impressive as MGK! Aside from Kanyon, he's proven himself to be the greatest X*Crown Champion in history hands down.
Cole: I'm not taking anything away from MGK, I'm just saying; this match can go either way.

"The Undisputed Icon" MGK vs. "The Revolutionary Redneck" Rage

At the sound of the bell, MGK explodes right out of his corner and takes Rage down to the canvas with a hard clothesline! Rage rolls over and pushes himself right back up to his feet but is met with a hard right elbow to his skull from MGK which forces him to become dazed while MGK continues elbowing the side of Rage’s head until he’s forced against the ropes. After several strikes, Rage tries to get a shot of his own but MGK quickly notices an opening and delivers a hard knee into his abdomen. Rage gets sent off to the opposite side of the ring, and as he’s coming MGK leaps into the air to take him over with a hurracanrana! The referee prepares to begin counting but MGK grabs Rage by the head and starts to pummel away at his head with him having absolutely no chances to cover up.
Cole: MGK starts off strong!
King: Get him, MG!
The referee finally forces MGK off of Rage, as Rage is slow to get back up to his feet and MGK is just arguing with the referee to try and tell him to stay out of the way… MGK comes up to Rage to try and keep all the momentum on his side, but he’s met with a head butt! Rage proceeds to drop him down with a jawbreaker which forces MGK to stumble back holding his jaw in pain. Rage is back up to his feet as MGK takes a couple steps towards him, and Rage quickly powers him over with a power slam! Rage hooks the leg. One… kick-out!
Cole: Way too early to end this one.
King: What the hell is he trying to do?
Both of the competitors are getting back to their feet, but Rage seems to have the advantage as he grabs MGK by the hair to try and keep the momentum on his side, and succeeds by taking MGK down to the canvas with a Double-arm DDT. MGK rolls towards the apron of the ring and uses the ropes to get back up to his feet and Rage again tries to keep the momentum, but MGK drops down to the canvas and pulls the rope down with him! Rage goes flying over and rolls a little bit away from the ring for how hard he hit’s the outside. Rather than following him outside of the ring, MGK takes a moment to get his head back together and tells the referee to just count.
Cole: Rage gets knocked out of the ring, and MGK doesn’t appear to want to have anything to do with him.
King: Well, if Rage has to hide outside of the ring, why should he waste his time?
One! Rage is already getting back up to his feet. Two! He’s back up to his feet, as MGK is daring him to get back into the ring. Three! Rage slides underneath the bottom rope but is instantly met with stomps to his back, arm and shoulders. Rage covers himself the best he can and even through the stomps is starting to get up to his feet. As Rage gets to one knee, MGK starts to send elbows to his back until Rage manages to get an arm around him and push him back into the turnbuckle! He grabs both ropes and starts to pull himself in with shoulder thrusts into the abdomen of MGK! The air gets knocked out of MGK with each shoulder thrust, and after one of them, MGK leaps up to try and get him in with a sunset flip! However, Rage grabs the legs of MGK and walks him back to the center of the ring before slamming him into the middle with the Alabama Slam.
King: No way!
Cole: MGK can’t seem to get back into this match!
He grabs the legs of MGK to try and put in a Sharpshooter, but MGK kicks wildly to stay away from it. MGK uses his leg strength to push Rage back against the corner, and he quickly gets back up to his feet - Rage sprints after him right away and goes for a clothesline but MGK manages to duck underneath it. Rage turns around to face MGK, as MGK is now sprinting towards him… Rage leaps into the air and takes MGK down with the Lou Thez Press before pummeling away at MGK! The crowd is going absolutely crazy and after the tenth punch, Rage gets to his feet and stares out to the crowd that is actually cheering for him since they tend to hate MGK more.
Cole: Shot, after shot, after shot, MGK could be out of this match!
King: Ref! You need to call him out on that kind of stuff!
MGK is a little bit dazed from the shots but is getting right back up to his feet. Rage greets him with a hard right to the back of his skull before he can do anything and then pulls him into a front headlock, then proceeds to set him up for a vertical suplex. MGK manages to keep his ground for a moment, but after two shots from Rage into his ribs, Rage lifts him over with ease! MGK sits up holding his lower back in pain after being dropped on the canvas, but Rage quickly pushes him back down and attempts the cover. One… Two… Kick-out!
Cole: He appears to be winded, but he’s barely able to kick out.
King: Barely? MGK hasn’t even warmed up yet!
Rage looks a little frustrated that it’s not over but he grabs MGK by the hair to force him up before knocking him back down with shot, after shot, after shot! He wastes little time to attempt another cover: One… Two… Kick-out! MGK sits up again, with him trying to catch his breath. Rage picks him up as he’s getting up, and tosses him into the turnbuckle! Rage follows in and starts to connect with several knife edge chops! MGK finally starts to battle back with a couple of his own, as both of them start to exchange the strikes. MGK finally spins Rage around in the turnbuckle and starts to connect with quick chops before sending him off to the opposite turnbuckle! He follows in to attempt a body splash but Rage counters by lifting his boot connecting it to MGK’s chest. MGK stumbles back to the center of the ring holding his chest. Rage charges forward to go for a clothesline as soon as MGK turns towards him but MGK takes him down with a scissor leg sweep, then quickly attempts to lock in an STF! He gets it locked in before Rage can get to the ropes, as Rage starts to try and battle his way towards the ropes before MGK has a chance to really settle in. Rage’s hand reaches out desperately and grabs the bottom rope!
King: What a coward, grabbing the rope! Get out of it with your own strength!
Cole: MGK has to let go of the hold!
One! Two! Three! Four! MGK finally releases the hold and then quickly crawls away from Rage and the referee… he gets to the turnbuckle that Rage charged out of, as the referee is distracted by checking on Rage. MGK takes this moment to unfasten the safety pad to the turnbuckle, then leans against it seeming to play possum. Rage uses the ropes to start to pull himself up to his feet - MGK can’t seem to be patient anymore, and goes over to grab Rage by the head. Rage isn’t able to defend himself as MGK drags him over to the exposed steel on the turnbuckle!
Cole: No! Ref, check that turnbuckle!
King: There’s nothing wrong with that turnbuckle, it passed inspection!
As MGK goes to slam his head into the turnbuckle, Rage catches himself and holds himself away from the steel post. With a hard elbow into MGK’s stomach, he grabs MGK by the head and slams it into the exposed steel several times until MGK starts to bleed all over the place! MGK is completely dazed as he grabs the top ropes to keep his balance. He looks up at Rage for a moment, a bit blinded by his own blood before he’s met with the Kill Shot! Rage quickly lifts MGK up onto his shoulders and carries him back to the center of the ring before planting him with the Fist of Rage! Rage makes the cover as the referee goes down to count, and the crowd is going absolutely crazy! One… Two… Thr--NO! MGK rolls his shoulder off of the canvas, as Rage looks at the referee and starts screaming that it was a three count.
Cole: I don’t believe it! How did MGK kick out of the Fist of Rage?!
King: He’s told us, Tara has told us! He is the best!
Rage continues to insist that it was three, as MGK is rolling over onto his stomach in a lot of pain. He wipes the blood from his forehead which had been slammed into the exposed steel while slowly trying to get up to his feet… Rage gets his focus back together, though and actually sets MGK up for his own move - Michigan Flame! MGK elbows Rage a few times in the head to finally force him out, and as Rage turns to face MGK, he connects with a hard right hand to daze him. MGK sprints back against the ropes and rushes at Rage to hit him with Bullet With a Name! Rage and MGK are both laying near the ropes, but MGK still goes and locks in the Anaconda Vice anyway! Rage shakes his head refusing to give up but finally realizes where he is in the ring, and grabs the ropes. MGK keeps the hold applied until the count of four, then lets go and crawls to the ropes as well to pull himself back up to his feet.
Cole: Rage has been lucky so far being next to the ropes.
King: Only a coward uses the ropes!
MGK finally manages to get back to his feet, and he quickly delivers a hard stomp to Rage’s head! Rage covers his head with both of his hands and proceeds to roll out of the ring, but the crowd starts going into a frenzy of boos since not only does MGK have the advantage at the moment, but Tara is now making her way down to the ring.
Rage and the referee don’t notice that she’s on her way down to the ring, as Rage is holding his head and leans against the barricade to try and get his head together. MGK leans against the ropes and stares down at the exhausted Rage while Tara gets down to ringside and circles around until she comes to Rage. The referee knows that he can’t do anything, since Tara hasn’t done anything… but she starts to trash talk Rage, which causes a distraction to him for a moment - just long enough for MGK to get out of the ring, breaking the count at six, and he starts to pummel away at Rage who is trying to defend himself again! A smirk is across Tara’s face as she just turns to see the anguish on Rage’s face before she finally gets over to the commentating table.
King: Welcome, welcome!
Cole: Keep your eyes on the match, King!
King: We have to welcome our lovely guest!
Rage is forced into a seated position as MGK leans down to continue punching Rage in the skull a few times as the referee has restarted the count. One! Tara sits down at the commentating table, and puts on a spare headset. MGK backs up looking at Rage who looks completely out of it. Two!
Tara: Thank you, King. Cole… always a pleasure.
Cole: MGK seems to finally be taking control of this match.
King: We don’t get much company out here anymore, it’s great to finally have a visitor!
Three! Rage is getting up to his feet but is grabbed by MGK right away. Four! He slams Rage’s head into the apron of the ring then rolls him back into the ring and follows in after, breaking the count at five. He goes for a cover. One… Two… Kick-out! MGK shakes his head a little bit frustrated after this. He sits Rage back up and locks in a sleeper hold as Rage seems to already be out of it. The referee lifts his hand up into the air and drops it down. The crowd is chanting for Rage to finally come to, but so far to no avail. The referee lifts his arm and drops it a second time. Two! As he goes to lift it for the third time, Rage’s leg gets underneath the rope, and the referee calls off the count and points the leg out to MGK.
Cole: Almost ended with the simplest of moves.
Tara: Yeah, but a very effective move.
King: You… are… beautiful.
MGK releases the hold rather fast this time and drags him over towards one of the turnbuckles. He motions that he’s going to go high and doesn’t waste much time to get up to the top rope… Rage still is laid out in the center of the ring, and MGK leaps back for a moonsault! Rage manages to roll closer to the turnbuckle than he initially was, thus, dodge the attempted high risk from MGK! MGK holds his abdomen in a lot of pain and gets up to his knees before falling flat on his face and holding his abdomen still. Rage lays still to try and catch his breath as the referee looks down at both of them seeing that both of them are completely motionless.
Tara: That lucky son of a bitch. It was luck that let Rage move!
King: This can’t happen!
Cole: Both men are hurting, and the referee has no choice but to count. If they can’t get up, they can’t continue!
One! MGK is still rolling on the canvas in a lot of pain, as Rage continues to lay still. Two! MGK rolls over after hearing the referee counting. Three! Rage grabs the top rope after noticing MGK is getting up, and decides it’s best to not waste much time. Four! MGK still has one hand on his abdomen, while the other goes up to grab the top rope. Five! MGK gets a good grasp of the top rope and starts to pull himself up, as Rage is also pulling himself up but using both hands to get up a little bit faster. Six! Rage is up to his knees, and MGK lifts himself up. Seven! Rage gets to one knee, and MGK is up. Eight! Rage gets up the rest of the way.
Cole: Both men are to their feet, and this match continues!
King: Both look like they just came out of war zone.
Tara: I think Rage should really wise up and just realize that he’s not winning this.
The moment both of them turn to each other, MGK tries to spin Rage around and take him down for a Damage Plan! Rage manages to keep to his feet, and finally struggles free from the grasp of MGK. Rage runs off to the ropes and sprints back towards MGK and is met with a Superkick! Almost kicking Rage’s head right off as he was also running into it as MGK hit it unexpectedly… all MGK can really do is collapse over Rage, and he hooks the leg.
Tara: This is it!
Cole: MGK could walk out with a hard fought victory!
King: Count, ref, count!
One… Two… Thr--Rage gets his shoulder up! MGK just stares up at the ceiling in complete disbelief after Rage has been able to kick out from his own finisher. Just as MGK was able to do with the Fist of Rage earlier on in the match, but both of them were entirely exhausted! They seemed to be running on fumes. Both of them laid completely out of it for a few seconds before MGK decided it’d be best to get back to his feet and try to figure out a different game plan. He pulls Rage back up slowly, as both of them are wobbly. Before MGK can take advantage of this, Rage fires with a hard haymaker which forces MGK to stumble back! As soon as MGK bounces off the ropes he comes back to attempt a second Bullet With a Name, but Rage is able to sidestep - MGK connects with the referee!
King: Look at what Rage did!
Cole: The referee is out cold!
Tara: I’ve seen enough of this bullshit.
Tara gets up from the commentating table and slides into the ring after grabbing the steel chair from the timekeeper, since the referee has absolutely no way of seeing anything that is going on. MGK is staring at the referee and shakes his head before getting up to his feet. Tara tosses the steel chair at Rage, and Rage catches it. She connects hard with the Fenixide Kick directly into the chair and kicking it into the skull of Rage! Rage falls over with the chair on top of him and MGK goes over to pick up the chair, while Tara is lifting Rage up forcing him to take the next assault from MGK.
Cole: What?! This isn’t a handicap match, get up, ref!
King: This is what Rage gets for crossing paths with them!
As Rage is able to stay up on his own, Tara holds him as MGK gets a short sprint towards Rage and connects with Bullet With a Name, smashing the chair into the face of Rage! Tara and MGK both grab an arm of Rage to drag him back to the center of the ring, then Tara grabs the chair and gets out of the ring with it.
Cole: They’re going to steal another victory here tonight.
King: Steal? COLE! They’re the best that the XHF has to offer!
Tara slides the chair underneath the ring, and goes over to the referee to force him to become conscious again. Rather than MGK going for a pin fall victory, he grabs one of the arms of Rage and then his head locking in the Damage Plan! There is absolutely no response from Rage, as MGK pulls back on the hold as hard as he can and the referee crawls over lifting Rage’s hand up in the air. It drops down lifelessly. One! He lifts it up a second time and it again drops lifelessly. Two! He lifts it for a third time, as Tara is peering underneath the bottom rope intently. MGK keep the hold held as hard as he can as the referee takes his time with this third, and final drop. Rage’s arm drops all the way down. THREE!
Winner via KO/Submission, and hereby the NEW #1 Contender for the X*Crown Championship: MGK!
Cole: Rage is completely unconscious. It’s over, you son of a bitch, let go of the hold!
King: He has to send a crystal clear message though Cole! You do not mess with Enmity period!
*Afterward “Reborn” by Stone Sour plays over the audio system, while Tara rolls into the ring excitedly, as MGK refuses to let go of the hold… completely frustrated with how much of a fight the redneck had put into this match, but the referee starts shouting at MGK and threatening that he’ll reverse the decision. This forces MGK to finally let go of the hold, as his partner helps him back to his feet. Enmity stands in the center of the ring holding their arms high as they have both been successful in their respected matches - thanks to the help of each other. Next stop: X*Crown Championship?*
Cole: I can’t believe they stole this one!
King: They did what they had to do to win, and that’s what any, and every wrestler should do!
*A new scene then opens up backstage and we find none other than...yep that's right, Nelly Angel himself standing around backstage with mic in hand.*
: "Hello folks, I’m Nelly Angel. Since I don’t currently have a match tonight on this great Pay-Per-View I decided to do what I would normally do otherwise, I decided to wander the halls to see what was going on elsewhere around here, and you’ll never guess who I ran into.”
*The camera pans over and Nelly taps somebody on the shoulder. The guy turns around and the crowd starts to go nuts! It was Steve Awesome! Nelly can hear the excitement from the crowd and he gins. Steve looks at Nelly, a bit surprised that Nelly and the camera crew are standing there.*
: Uh…..Hi?
: “Steve man, it’s great to see you man. Please tell me you signed a new contract. Tell me you're back here competing in the XHF!”
*Steve somberly shakes his head.*
: No can do, Nelly. Truth is, I’m just hanging out in the back, catching up with some old friends that’s all.”
*A unanimous groan is heard throughout the arena. Nelly nods his head, sympathizing with the sold out crowd in Miami.*
: Dude, that really blows. I’m sure the XHF fans would absolutely LOVE to see you mix it up in that ring again.
*Nelly turns to look at the camera.*
: “...Right guys?”
*The crowd pops in defeaning fashion again, generating a chuckle from Steve.*
: I’d like to Nelly, but you know I currently have commitments elsewhere.
*Nelly hangs his head and nods.*
: “(Sigh) Yeah…..I hear ya. Oh well, it was great talking to you again.”
*Nelly throws out his hand in respect.*
: Yeah, you too Nelly. Take it easy man.”
*Steve puts his hand out and shakes Nelly's hand. Steve then begins to walk away, but in the process runs into the former X*Crown Champion... Kanyon! Kanyon starts to laugh immediately at the sight of Steve Awesome.*
: Hahaha, what are you doing here? Didn't I already beat you at Night of Champions to finally get it through your bloated head that you don't belong here!
*Steve prepares to respond, but Kanyon interrupts him before he can.*
: You know what, get out of my way you hack! You're not even worth my words quite frankly.
*Kanyon arrogantly pushes Steve Awesome out of the way, and Steve turns to watch Kanyon walk down the hallway with a bit of a frustrated, yet more specifically, a refocused and determined look on his face. He then slowly begins nodding his nod as a rather conniving grin crosses his face, and with that we fade back out to ringside as Cruiserfest '09 for the right to face the No Mercy Champion next month is on the verge of commencing in a mere matter of moments now...*
