"You know i've always been the underdog. This match is the same. This whole tournament is the same. I defeated a former world champion in Travis Monroe and another former women's champion who held her title for over a year. That's no small feat, let me tell you. And now? Now i face the legend. The man who's returned from the deep dark depths of the old XHF. I'll be honest with you all right now, i am kinda nervous about this match.)"
The camera zooms out and pans around to show Ai is in a wrestling ring, practicing moves on a dummy right now.
"I mean, who wouldn't be nervous going against the great Death Trap! the hero who's finally returned! Everyone lost their minds when he came to MCCW. And rightfully so, the legends always draw the crowds. Always get the old fans to come back one more time. But that's just it. These old guys, these legends, they take away the spotlight for the new generation. They do more harm then good if we're going by the past. I mean sure hundreds of thousands of new names will see me in action or watch my promo for the first time because of this match only, but i bet you hardly any will stick around."
She shakes her head.
"No, they won't even think about checking out LXW or JET. Not even my work in Rose City. Because all they care about is an old timer past his prime. Trying to get back his former glory, and as of now? he's done just that. Beating the once unstoppable Eichi Yamaguchi in a cage match. Beating the unbeatable Nelly Angle. Conquering talents like the longest reigning Idol of Sakura Champion in Alexis Grace and the monster known as Duke Kossloff. You've had an uphill battle to say the least."
"And i know Mr.Trap that my schedule in the XHF may not seem that impressive, but what you don't know is what i've been doing outside this small bubble. The grind and hard work i've put in to get to this point in my life. This is the second tournament i've been in within the last 4 weeks. The last one i didn't quiet win, but it was a grueling round robin tournament that pushed me to new limits. The End of Days on top of that? This is nothing i've experienced before in my life. This grind, this pain... this feeling. You think one tournament is hard enough try going through two, one where you fight every day of the week in singles matches and tag matches for weeks straight. The other, the legendary End of Days. A tournament that's killed more wrestlers and feds than any other. After just this one, your never the same."
"But imagine going through this one, making it to the semi-finals AND just finishing another tournament while starting this one. That's no small feat either. But let it be known that just because you don't see me on this streaming service doesn't mean i don't work just as hard, if not harder than anyone you do see here. In just a little over a year i've won 4 championships. The SBW World Championship, The LXW Women's Championship, The JET Trios and Academy championships. I've beaten many talented men and women to get to this point and Mr.Trap, you're going to be another name added to my list of accomplishments."
She gives a feint smile and wink.
"And don't take that comment as overconfidence or me overlooking what you've done. No it's far from it Mr.Trap. I respect you plenty, but i won't be star struck or just let the old timer get another pass. This is the most important match in my life and i'll be damned if i just let it slip away from me because i didn't take you seriously enough. I'm preparing for the fight of my life in a few days. Flying in from Japan, i'll make sure to give you a run for your money. So don't count me out just yet! Ai Moe may be small, Ai Moe may come off weak and little, but my heart is big and strong! My fighting spirit is the biggest it's ever been! And i'm going to win this tournament or die trying!"
She goes back to training as we fade to black.
