Fort Davidson State Historic Site
Pilot Knob, Missouri
The October weather has started to move in as the temperature has been a steady 63 to 67 degrees for the past couple of weeks, the battlegrounds of Fort Davidson has been pretty empty as of late with tourist season over with for the year in Pilot Knob. "The Family Man" Danny Ray can be seen walking around the property by himself carrying what appears to be a video camera and tripod. He takes in the many historic landmarks and memorial plaques as he passes by them, you can see his hair moving around as the cool fall breeze blows through it.
He comes to the remains of Fort Davidson itself the place is still pretty much intact even after all of these years and that huge gun powder explosion that created a giant hole. It was used as a massive grave for all of the dead soldiers that died during that battle, as it is now marked with a granite monument dedicated to the soldiers who all died there. Danny Ray squats down as he reads the monument he bows his head in silence for a moment as he pays respect to the fallen soldiers, before standing back up and setting up the video camera and tripod.
Once he gets everything set up he walks back over by the monument and begins to speak as if he was directly speaking to someone and not into a video camera.
The Family Man: You know I stand here in a field of battle much like I will be soon at End of days when I step into the ring of battle, but see there's a difference. This battlefield is full of fallen soldiers who fought for the people they loved, for the place they loved and for what they believed in. Unlike the so-called soldier, I will be facing at End of days, I fight for something just as important as these fallen soldiers that rest beneath the dirt and grass here.
Danny Ray bends over grabbing a hand full of grass and as he stands back up he looks into the camera as he allows the grass to blow away freely in the wind.
The Family Man: The last time you all saw me inside a wrestling ring for an actual match I went in as the United States Champion and when I left that ring I was no longer champion but instead broken. They rushed me to the hospital due to a life-altering brain tumor, which I had to have emergency surgery. Stormcrow left that night holding what belonged to me but most of all he left me knowing some cold hard truths about myself.
The Family Man: You see Johnny Sniper, as I laid in that hospital bed I thought about few hard truths and also learned some major facts about myself and my life. You see while you were managing to barely beat Stormcrow, which by all means you lucked out but he was merely a paper champion anyways. I know, I know you're wondering why would I say that simple he only beat me due to my medical condition, but we won't talk about that at the moment.
The sounds of passing by cars can be heard off in the background as Danny Ray continues to speak.
The Family Man: Like I was saying Johnny Sniper as I laid there in that bed, you know who came to see me, my wife and kids. Yeah, that was it after everything I have done for everyone else not a single person from my community, my church or even the company I almost gave my life too came to see me, to check on me or even to send a get well card nothing. How would you feel when you have spent your life dedicated to helping others, putting your neighbors, your family and your first and when you need someone no one is there but in my case my wife and kids. That makes you come to terms with the cold hard truth about life, and that's no one cares about you unless they can get something from you. So now I have to think about myself, my kids, my wife, MY FAMILY!!!
A car drives by the historic site honking their horn and Screaming out "Family Man" as it passes by.
The Family Man: Johnny Sniper, you claim to be some war hero, a veteran you claim you're going to bring honor back to the United States championship. But you were only in the service long enough to wipe your ass, you saw 30 minutes of action and ran like a coward or a Frenchman. Let's see while you have been spending your life hiding behind the stigma of PTSD, I have been dealing with real life, I have been living with real-life issues and consequences. You see Sniper, I have had to work for everything in my life, I have had to earn it all and trust me while what I may do now may seem repulsive to some I do it for my family.
The Family Man: While you, run like a coward I stayed and raised my children which I do every day, through bad health, injury, sleepless nights, hunger no matter what the situation is I am there I did not run. Do you think the American people or better yet the AWF fans want someone who couldn't even make it as a weekend warrior as their United States Champion?
Danny Ray begins to walk around as he continues to speak the camera turns on the tripod following him as he walks recording everything he says and does.
The Family Man: My family may not like what I do, or how I plan on doing things from now on, but they support me and they know I do it for them. Sniper, why do you think I attacked you and took back the United States championship the way I did? Not because I needed to sneak attack you or steal the championship, NO, it's because when it comes to a coward like you I needed to motivate you. I needed to get my point across to you and to the AWF big wigs that I am no longer going to stand by and be a welcoming mat for the so-called hotshot superstars that they allow to walk in take what they want or do what they want simply because they look pretty or have the big-time name.
The Family Man: I plan on sending you to a padded cell by the end of our match Johnny boy, you think your 30-minute tour of duty gave you PTSD. Then our match will drive you completely looney. I will take you places you have never been, places your weak mind can't handle. You see Johnny, people think I am weak, that I can just be pushed aside, dismissed like some joke, or some third rate workhorse that's just here to make everyone else look good.
Danny Ray sits down as leaning up against the monument as cool fall weather has started to get even cooler dropping several degrees while he has been there. He continues to speak just as if his opponent Johnny Sniper or even Stormcrow was standing there face to face with him.
The Family Man: No longer will I allow others to get what I have earned and what my family deserves, I will reclaim this championship that I am in possession of right here the AWF United States championship and I will do it by any means necessary.
The Family Man: So Johnny boy, go run off to your therapist get some more Prozac, Xanax, Klonopin, Risperidone or your Paxil. So when the match is over you can run and medicate yourself before they place you in a padded room, because we all know you will be claiming Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder to the bosses.
He begins to laugh a bit as he reaches into his back pocket pulling out a pint of Tennesee whiskey "FireBall". He places it on the ground in front of him as he looks around takes a deep breath as he takes in the surroundings before speaking again.
The Family Man: Then we have Stormcrow, another ex-military man hiding behind the PTSD fad, yeah, what's this world coming to when every guy who joins the military has come out of it claiming PTSD. I guess in this society and day and Age everyone if the free world can claim they have that. Hell, if I was a coward like you Stormcrow or the current beltless champion Sniper I could claim I have that with everything I have been through. But unlike you, I'm not a coward, a drunk or a druggie.
Danny Ray reaches down grabbing the Tennessee Whiskey with a smile on his face as he holds it up in front of him.
The Family Man: So Stormcrow, here let's have a drink to some real soldiers, the men who died right here in Pilot Knob at the Battle of Fort Davidson.
Danny Ray unscrews the lid from the bottle and slowly pours it out on to the ground.
The Family Man: Oh, no, Stormcrow, no need to try and lick it off the ground we can get more. I know, I know you would rather have something a bit stronger but unlike you, I spend my money on bills that take care of my family. You see I don't have the need to waste my paychecks on the next "FIX" or whatever else you may waste it on. But trust me when I say at least my family knows what kind of man I am, can you say the same thing?
He screws the lid back on the bottle as he stands up walking over to a nearby trash bin tossing the empty bottle in it.
The Family Man: Of course you can't they think you're dead! That's right you were too much of a coward to face your family after your crimes and after you supposedly got PTSD. It just amazes me that a family-oriented company such as Ascension Wrestling Federation would even higher you or for that matter a deserter like Sniper. But at least they won't be having either of you as the face of the United States championship division after End of Days.
The Family Man: I will bring back the wholesome family-friendly feel to this company and I will bring back some type of respect to this championship. No need to worry about how I will do it because none of you have yet seen what I am capable of and my family supports what I am about to do. Stormcrow, by the end of the match you will be in rehab from the overdose you have after losing to me.
He walks up about three feet from the camera and begins to talk a bit more calmly as he places the United States championship over his shoulder.
The Family Man: Boys, I will see you both at End of days, you're about to have the worse anxiety attack from the fear from the flashbacks I'm about to cause you both.
He walks up to the camera as he finishes his statement to both Stormcrow and Johnny Sniper.
The Family Man: Welcome to the land of fallen Soldiers .
As he shuts off the camera...
