The nicest thing about being the X-Crown Champion for Subject #42 is days like today. For other wrestlers, it may be just a simple autograph signing, but The Freak seems to love interacting with its fans. It sure as hell beats the cold and lonely nights of being locked away from the world in dark rooms and cages, and it sure as hell beats the days of being yelled at and called all sorts of horrible names by people either scared of the beast or wanting it dead.
While other wrestlers may hate interacting with the fans unless they’re trying to kiss ass like Bobby Barratt, Subject seems to take every interaction personally, knowing that days like these are the most it has been able to interact with the general public in years. It feels strange to see the destructive creature radiating such a feeling of joy, but it’s definitely infectious. Each fan seems to make Subject happy in their own little way.
For the fans themselves, it’s a bit of a different proposition. A large portion of Subject’s fans are a bit frightened at the prospect of meeting the champion; some are a bit nervous to meet their hero, and others are a bit nervous that The Freak may go off at any time. The only fans that don’t seem to be nervous about meeting Subject are young children. Perhaps they’re too young to know better, or perhaps it’s because they have the pure heart of a child and judge the Freak for more than its appearance. Of course, the children who are a little bit too young for this hide behind their mothers and fathers, but they are definitely not the only fans with a little bit of nervousness and fear in line for this occasion.
The X-Crown and Destiny Wrestling Heavyweight championships sit on the table in front of Subject as the fearful fans slowly learn that they don’t need to worry about a potential attack. More pictures are taken with the Freak, and some fans even doing a “RAAAAAAGHHHHH!” with it. There are multiple photos taken simply of hand size comparison between Subject’s giant mitts and those of the kids’. The fans with autograph books seem stumped as to how Subject could sign an autograph, but the solution becomes clear: while Subject is only slightly less illiterate than Maverick, Subject gets around the problem of not being able to sign its name by giving its thumbprint instead.
The signing goes relatively smoothly with no incidents or concerns. Towards the end of its autograph signing, Subject looks up to see another line already queuing up for the next session. Subject pays this no mind, focusing on the fans, at least until it hears a certain word. The word rings in its ears, getting louder as Subject hears it repeated. It listens closely as it keeps giving taking selfies with fans. There it is again, and again.
LITTLE GIRL
Yuki is my favorite!
LITTLE BOY
Yuki’s so cool!
The words of the passing family as they get in line stick with Subject. It tries its best to ignore what it’s learned: Yuki Sakabara is signing autographs next. After pinning Subject with the help of her tiger, she earned a World title match, only to be crushed by the Freak. But the thoughts of the tiger weigh heavily on its mind.
A photographer, dressed in all black with a DW t-shirt, takes a picture to try to capture the beast’s attention. The flash stuns Subject for a few moments.

Subject, over here! Look at the camera please!
The Freak snaps its attention back towards the camera.

Everyone say RAGH on three! One, two, three!
The three fans make their own version of the primal roar. Subject does not even come close to matching their enthusiasm.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Ragh.

SUBJECT'S FANS
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
SUBJECT #42
Ragh.
The fans smile, happy to have gotten their picture taken with their champion as they walk away. Subject gives them a slight nod and looks over at its handlers for the event, wanting to get out as fast as it possibly can. Luckily for the monster, the session is coming to a close. Its handler doesn’t sense that something is wrong, but he instead ends the session because the half hour has passed.
HANDLER
Alright, folks. That’s the end of the Subject #42 signing. How about a round of applause for our double champion?
The crowd cheers loudly for the Freak. Usually, Subject would give some kind of reaction right back, but instead it just stands there, lost in its thoughts. It gets prodded, and it lets out a very half-hearted ragh to please the handler.
HANDLER
The Yuki Sakabara signing will start in five minutes. We’ll be back in five minutes, thank you.
The handler sets the microphone down and turns its attention towards Subject.
HANDLER
You’re free to go, big man. Nice work out there today, lots of happy fans. Best of luck with your match at End of Days.
Subject nods, the word “free” derailing its negative train of thought. It grabs its championships and straps the X-Crown around his waist. Subject throws the Destiny Wrestling Heavyweight championship over its shoulder as it begins to vacate the area. It heads towards the exits, not really knowing where it is going, but knowing that it should probably leave before things get out of---
A loud roar cuts through the room. Subject stops in its tracks.
The intergalactic space tiger simply known as Tony enters the area. He is being pulled along on a leash by Yuki Sakabara, the Japanese wrestling sensation. The tiger is huge, looking closer to the battle cat from the He-Man series than an actual tiger. Yuki could easily ride the beast if she wanted, but she settles for pulling along the surprisingly docile creature. The handler coordinating the autograph signing simply nods as the tiger’s leash is tied to a post. It is fairly similar to a dog being left in a yard, and treated as if it’s a completely normal thing for a Sunday evening signing session.
Yuki takes her seat and begins to sign autographs like a consummate professional. She focuses on her fans, paying no mind to the beast in the background.
Subject simply stares. It clutches at its back, feeling the scars left behind by the tiger’s mauling. The pain and hatred begin to dominate its mind as an answer to the feeling of fear coursing through its body. The Freak begins to slightly shake and sweat, visibly uncomfortable in its own skin. It is a similar feeling to the feeling its opponents get when they truly step toe-to-toe and realize how outmatched they are in the ring. These overwhelming feelings could be mistaken for weakness by lesser competitors who have never experienced the feeling of being that much better than an opponent. A good example of someone making this mistake recently is the triggered Maverick, spitballing and throwing selective stones about the quality of competition that Subject has fought over the past few months, despite never being good enough and never winning enough to invoke feelings of terror and fear in any opponent.
Subject looks towards the exit as it looks to escape the personal hell that is rapidly encroaching its space. Escaping this situation, avoiding the beast, would probably be its best bet, just as it would be for the three competitors it will fight this Sunday, but Subject does not move. Instead, Subject stands there, frozen in fear, knowing what it wants to do, but being unable to act. It reaches down deep inside, pulling out something that has always been there, as it makes its decision.
Subject charges, spearing the tiger through the DW backdrop that was set up for the autograph signings. The backdrop immediately collapses onto both creatures as they go to war.
Subject begins to pound away with furious lefts and rights as the tiger is overwhelmed by the initial offense. It roars and reaches to bite Subject, but Subject gets a hand in its mouth and grabs the tiger’s head with its other hand, torquing its head and breaking the animal’s jaw. The tiger whimpers in pain and tries to escape the manic monster, but it quickly discovers that it is still tied to its post. Subject uses the leash to pull the trapped beast back into the fray.
Green and red blood begin to pour out all over the autograph signing area as the tiger tries to defend itself from the onslaught. Subject is clearly slowed down by the scratching and clawing, but the obsession has overtaken any sense of its ability to ease up on the creature. It repositions its hand and begins to squeeze away at the brain of the beast, using its infamous Head Squeeze against the animal. It is clear that Subject is trying to pop the tiger’s head like a balloon, and the whimpering and roar coming from the tiger indicate that Subject might actually be doing it. The tiger bites at Subject, but it can’t sink its teeth into its large opponent as Subject has lifted the tiger by its head. None of the tiger’s feet can touch the ground as Subject shakes the tiger around, ragdolling its body, before slamming it into the ground with a sickening impact.
THUD.
A splattering of blood splashes up onto Subject as the tiger’s head crashes into the concrete. It stops moving, but the monster isn’t done. Subject, still in its wild rage, pins its chest down. The sounds coming out of Subject make Psychotic Goth’s ancient English groans and grunts sound like a lullaby for children. The length of time the tiger is pinned would clearly be long enough for a pinfall if this was a wrestling match, but Subject refuses to stop. It begins to claw at the tiger’s chest, pushing and tearing its way in until it pulls out the beast’s heart. It stands up and holds the heart high above its head, higher than its championships. The ragh that comes screaming out of its mouth is the loudest we may have ever heard.
SUBJECT #42
RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
It beats its chest, expecting the crowd to cheer, but the crowd has mostly fled for their lives. A few stragglers still remain. We can hear the sounds of a little girl crying and sobbing to her mother as the tiger lays dead at Subject’s feet.
LITTLE GIRL
You monster!
The sharp tones and the sound of crying snap Subject from its rage. It looks down at the heart in the hand, and then at the little girl. Her tears run down her young face as she wails in sadness and pure terror. Her mother grabs her and quickly drags her away from the monster and to safety, but Subject’s eyes follow the little girl as she disappears from sight.
Subject begins to slowly realize the gigantic mistake it just made. Its eyes fill with sorrow, but they roll over before Subject can act further to mitigate the damage. Three darts and a needle finally take the monster down. The last thing it sees is the looks of concern and fear from those around it as the world fades to black for the beast.
Subject crashes through the sign-in table as the technicians, handlers, and DW executives look over the chaotic scene. The autograph signing session has been a complete disaster, and arguments break out between staff members about who thought it was a good idea to ever let Subject out of its cage, let alone work the event. Police officers on the scene quickly handcuff the monster, stripping it of its freedom. They ponder how to lift the monster as its legs are also cuffed to prevent it from even thinking about making an escape. It takes an entire team of technicians and officers to get the unconscious beast back onto its feet, and even more people have to help the team as Subject is slowly carried towards the exit, where it should have gotten all along.
The monster is harshly thrown into the back of a police vehicle as the scene cuts.
