We open scene and Bobby is watching a webcast of the Anonymous Xtreme Wrestling show from last night. As the show closes, we see Draven hiding aloft the AXW Undisputed Championship. The commentators wind down the show as Bobby looks on with a big beaming smile on his face.
Bobby: Well looks like someone finally knocked that smug prick off his perch. You know for months I was salty it wasn’t me. I wanted the credit for being the guy to do it, but looking back now... I think this was for the best. I was expected to do it. People counted Caffrey’s days down. Draven went into this one as the underdog. Caffrey would have been sour about losing to me but accepted it because beneath that wannabe tough exterior, I had at least a little respect. A loss to Draven is going to cut the guy deep. He thought he’d stroll out of that place as Champion and the fact he’s never going to get a shot at taking the title back is going to hurt more than a loss to me ever would.
Bobby reaches across and switches the feed off as it fades to black one final time.
Bobby: It seems that this weekend is quite the time to crown new Champions, right? How’s that sound to you, Subject? Let me guess.... RRRAAAGGGHHH! I thought so! The man of little words rarely has much to say for himself and though you aren't actually a man Subject, that's particularly true for you. You've had a great reign, I won't dispute that for a minute, but the fact is that all things eventually come to an end.... Just like Anthony Caffrey's reign, just like Swann's reign and just like the reign of AXW as a legit top fed within the XHF Network. Sunday night, your reign as the X-Crown Champion will come screeching to a halt at the hands of Bobby Barratt. One of the most revered names in the XHF Network and across the Wrestling industry. One of the creators of the Icons, one of the most decorated athletes to step foot into the squared circle. Do you fancy your chances? Do you even understand what your chances are? Or are you someone's alien version of a fighting Dog? Dragged out to battle, make someone some money and then tossed back into the cage which contains you until next time? Kind of a sad existence don't you think? When I put it like that, it could be a really sad story and probably a good movie. How Subject CASTS ASIDE THE CHAINS and escapes his captor. Probably not true, but since when has something being true mattered in Hollywood?
BING BONG!!
Bobby looks at the screen on his computer and he has an email alert. He looks at the info and it's from his new ally and LGBTKO stablemate, Seth Dillinger.
Bobby: Wonder what Seth has to say for himself. You know, sharing a beer with a guy is always the way to bring you closer. Considering I've been on the wagon for a month or two now, that one hit me more than I care to admit. I just wish that son of a bitch would stop bringing up Fired Up last year.
Bobby clicks the email and it pops up on the screen.
Seth: Hey man. I threw up a tweet to set you straight with the LGBT community the other day. Seems it's paying off at least a little! Sure there's some that are pretty set against you and that's gonna take time, but this one did make me smile! Peace! Seth!
Attached to the email is a picture he must have been tagged in somewhere. Bobby opens it up:
Bobby lets out a hearty laugh. He's not sure what he expected when he opened that email, but he didn't think he and Seth were at the stage of sharing memes yet. But to see himself imposed onto Captain America.... Well that's something!
Bobby: You know if someone time travelled forward a year to today, I bet they'd lose their shit seeing me and Seth Dillinger exchanging emails, right? Just goes to show what a year can do. How time can heal if you let it. It shows that walking away from AWF at the time I did, as much as Maverick likes to shit on me for it, was the right move. If I'd stayed, one of me or Seth Dillinger would be dead. Simple. We wailed on each other week after week, time after time and the fact was that none of us were going to let up. It got nastier and nastier and I can tell you now that I certainly wouldn't have stopped. I wouldn't have let him get last word in. We needed that separation to even be near the point we're at now. Back then, if he'd have made the save like he did, I'd have still popped him in the jaw and gone out swinging!
Bobby turns back around to the camera.
Bobby: I got off subject a little there. My bad. End of Days, the X-Crown. Bobby Barratt, Maverick, Psychotic Goth and the Champion, Subject 42 in a Vortex match. For the uninitiated, that means I have to climb a glass structure covered in barbed wire, then another thirty foot tall section of scaffolding to even SEE the X-Crown Championship. Then anyone who makes it up there is in a winner takes all race to grab the son of a bitch. It's high stakes. Falling from there could be a career ender or at least a lengthy stay in Hospital. The fact that a forty year old man is willing to put himself on the line like this shows how much I want the X-Crown and everything that comes with it back! I've sacrificed more than you'll ever know to get to this point Subject. I've gone through wins, losses, travelling, mourning, near bankruptcy and people still DOUBT I have what it takes to win this?! It's crazy! Let me tell you something and this can go out to anyone in this match, anyone watching the match or anyone I'll ever face again should I make it through this meat grinder of a match! EVERY TIME I lace up the boots, EVERY TIME I step foot in that ring, no matter what the match, it's kill or be killed! It's all or nothing! I don't care whether I'm 21 or I'm 80! I'll still approach each and every match with the same FUCKING intensity that I ever have! I'll still go out there and make damn SURE that come the end of the match, win or lose, there's NOTHING I could have done that would have given me any more chance to win it! Can all of you say the same? We've seen Maverick plummet from the top of a similar sized structure back at Global Domination last year. Subject tears people in half who dare to stand up to him. But do they have the drive I've got? Do they want this as much as I have? Or do they see me as an old guy who swears he still has one more run in him?
Bobby reaches behind himself and grabs a glass of water off his desk, taking a drink before putting it back on the desk.
Bobby: All I can say is that this "old guy" still has a ton more in the tank than you realise. He's proven that he can still compete at the highest level, put down the highest calibre of Wrestler in his quest to ONCE AGAIN stand on top of the XHF Mountain! Line them up and I'll take my biggest fucking swing to knock them down! If climbing a barbed wire wall and scaffolding, only to knock some poor sap's arse all the way down from the top is what it takes, you can BET I'm willing to do that and I'll do it without remorse! People have asked me whether "nice guy" Bobby is capable of doing that to someone and my answer is always the same... They knew what they were getting themselves into and they still went for it! They knew the risks as do I! We're all going to climb into that ring come Sunday knowing that we won't be the same when the night's done! It's naive to think that a match like that won't change you! Blood will be shed, careers could be ended! Come the end of the night, it's not going to come down to who's biggest, strongest or a better athlete! It's going to come down to who wants it the most! Who's willing to take that hit and get back up! Who's willing to pop their arm back into the socket and keep fighting! I can almost bet half the guys in there have never had to go through that kind of shit! The only difference between Bobby now and Bobby who won the X-Crown near 12 months ago is I'm going to do this alone! The LGBTKO boys probably don't trust me enough yet and if they did show up, I'll send them back to the locker room because if I can't do this myself... Then I don't DESERVE that title!
Bobby stands up and spreads his arms out wide.
Bobby: Because I'm Bobby Barratt.... I'm better than you, I want this more and come Sunday I'll be a two time X-Crown Champion! Try and stop me!
