Noticed that people here are from various parts of the globe. Was curious - what's the local wrestling scene like where you are?
I live in NJ/Philadelphia area, so there is plenty to choose from (large market, loose laws). Been tired of the TV products/major brands for some time and it's refreshing to watch guys slug it out in the trenches. Are there any local/small feds or events you can go see? How is it?

Korea used to have a good wrestling scene in the 70's but people didn't respond well when it came out that the results were scripted and now I can't find any local stuff. Granted I'm doing all my looking in English but it's still frustrating with all the dead ends I've hit of previously known feds who's websites don't work now

I live in a small town about an hour west of St Louis. We have World League Wrestling here which was owned and operated by Harley Race until his passing a little while ago. His son, Leland, has taken over. Unfortunately I’ve only been there twice. Last time was strictly to meet Teddy Long who was signing autographs.
The one show I did stick around to see I also got to meet Kurt Angle. It was right before his induction to the Hall of Fame. The action was pretty decent but the crowd is basically small town hicks. So they get overly rowdy and try to scrap with each other.
Rumor has it that Sting (Steve Borden) is living out here as well but that’s never been confirmed. I figured after he broke his neck he’d have gone home to Nebraska.
Wrestling at The Chase used to be big business here decades ago during the territory days. Supposedly it’s being recreated. If it is I hope they do it justice because that is one hell of a legacy!

The UK scene seems to be on a bit of a downward turn ever since WWE came in and raided all of our promotions. WWE UK is so-so. The best promotion we have here is probably Progress, who run in Manchester regularly, but even they struggle because WWE owns all the top talent here now.

I live in Portsmouth, UK. To echo Rob, WWE have {No Means No} our Indie scene. What was flourishing and vibrant three years ago has now been dragged back about 10 years. Revolution Pro Wrestling is based out of Portsmouth and their school is literally a 5 minute walk from my house. They run so good shows in Portsmouth and London and their relationship with NJPW means they normally get some good talent on the shows. But yeah...WWE has been great for the wrestlers they signed but terrible for the Indies.
