It’s october 26th, the day after Lay Rest To The Wicked. The last ever show for AXW. Sang-Hyun lost last night. The PAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN was immeasurable, both physically and mentally. Seeing the once sold out Legion now a desolate wasteland, a hollow grounds. Nothing more than a ghost town of once bustling life. But that’s what today brings. That’s what the future holds. Besides not all things can last forever. Lee knew that all too well with FIW.
But AXW was supposed to be different. It was the first place to take him in after the car accident. Despite betraying their trust and leaving this world for another he knew he had to get one more match in. He knew he had to be in the last AXW show. And he was. He was in the opening match. That made him happy deep down inside.
Deep down in that egotistical exterior he tries to wear like a mask. A mask… how fitting really. Sang-Hyun once vowed to destroy the mask of another, but he was always the one who wore the most convincing mask of them all. He would be in his Hotel room, still in London. He puts some colored round things in his mouth before he swallows them. He closes the tik-tak container before putting it back in his pocket. He turns on his phone camera, placing it on the table. He sits in the chair in front of it and gives a smile as he starts recording.
”So it’s finally over huh? AXW is closed up. Soon to be headed off into the archives section with many other promotions. Some great, many awful and even more never even got a chance to do much of anything. But you know despite the amount of places closed down, this one hurts the most. This one stings the most.”
“I never really told anyone this, but before AXW i lost my job once i was deemed useless, i got fired because of a drunk driver, i almost lost what life i had left in me. But V came, AXW came. They took this scrawny korean kid and let him do what he loved. And for that i want to say thank you.”
He gives a warm smile, a genuine one coming from the heart and the man. Not some gimmick pretending he’s something he never was.
”From my first opponent here, Rob Arnold, who showed me what decades of experience can get you, to Duke Kossloff who gave me my most memorable moments of my career. I want to thank each and every opponent i’d ever had, win, loose, of draw. You all made me into a better wrestler and a better man.”
“To the fans who would ask for a picture or autograph outside the airports or in the store, thank you for always supporting me. For supporting AXW and this crazy network. Without you all i wouldn’t of lasted as long as i have.”
“To Kira Izumi, who gave me my first big match and big victory, thank you for always being willing to put another over. You taught me allot in FIW and even more than you could think. Thank you for helping me talk to Yuki, who’ll always be my first love. Even if we’re not close anymore Yuki, thank you for giving me a chance and for giving me the happiest moments of my life. I’ll always love you and respect you for what you’ve done.”
“I’m sorry i’m going on this… this rambling mess, but i’m not really sure what to say honestly. I just want to get this all out there before i go. Last night was incredible and i hope i gave you all something to be proud of. I gave my all in EOD and out there for you.”
“One final thing before i leave you my family, friends, fans and peers. Thank you all for everything. From the locker room talks we had with each other to the backstage advice. I’m truly grateful for these happy memories. But also, i’d like to apologize. To apologize for being weak and for losing so much. For taking things for granted. For being a selfish ass hole more times than i can count. But i also wanted to say that i love you all.”
Some tears start to go down the cheeks of the Korean Superstar before he mouths one final word to the camera.
”영원히 안녕”
He stops recording and goes to upload the video from his Network account and up to youtube. He digs through his pockets and pulls out the tik-tak container, it’s pretty full still and has various colored ones in it. Sang-Hyun takes the top off of it and pours them in his mouth like m & m’s. He swallows hard and closes his eyes.
Several hours pass by before there’s a knock on his door. No answer. Another knock. No answer. The door opens and a maid comes in. We hears screams from down the hall and cut to the outside. A camera man and a news reporter are stationed outside the hotel in which Sang-Hyun is in.
We cut to a live broadcast of the local news station where the reporter is.
”Harold Smith here on location with breaking news. It’s been reported by local authorities that former AXW wrestler Sang-Hyun Lee has been found dead in his hotel room. The cause of death is suspected to be an overdose of pills. Mr.Lee was seen at a wrestling event, Lay West To The Wicked just last night.”
“Many fans and colleagues alike were said to of not witnessed anything out of the ordinary from Mr. Lee. We’re still not quiet sure why this happened or how, but more information will come when we get it. For now back to you Cathy.”
We cut to the local studio with the news woman sitting behind the table.
”Thank you Harold, As he said the professional wrestler Sang-Hyun Lee, aged 22 years, has been found dead in his hotel room this evening. Police say they think it’s from an apparent overdoes. We’ll give you more information when we get it, but right now we’d like to say our condolences to his family and friends.”
Another day passes by before we get anymore information. We cut back to a broadcast for more information.
”Harold Smith here, as reported a few days ago professional wrestler Sang-Hyun Lee has died. We now have more information on the incident. Police Commissioner Gordon was quoted to say ‘There was an abnormal amount of medications found in his system. The medication in question was a mix of strong opioids, Oxymorphone and Hydromorphone, commonly used for sever to moderate pain.’”
“There was a letter written by Mr.Lee that was in his pants pocket when the police found him. We’ll show you a graphic of it now.”
A picture of the letter is shown on screen and reads as follows.
”Our condolences once again. There are many memorials and tributes being sent in from family, friends and fans now as we speak. We’d like to take a moment to mention if you or anyone you know is in a situation like this, then please ask for help. It’s never a bad thing to ask for. Thank you all, we’ll be back at 10.”
The feed cuts out to black.

Dear Yuki,
If you’re reading this i’m probably passed out and high on pills or have overdosed and am in the hospital or dead. I’m sorry for being so weak and so stupid. It’s just after the accident the pain wouldn’t stop. It would never stop. They put me on some pain pills to help at first, but i got hooked.
I got hooked on these fucking things, i became relient on them. Had to get stronger and stronger stuff to mask away the pain. But the pain never left. Wrestling didn’t help, but it was all i had to keep me going. The only thing that made me feel happy. I’m so sorry you had to find out this way. I’m so sorry i kept this a secret from you. I was just too scared to ask for help. Too afraid to lose everything, but turns out these things made me lose it all, huh?
I’m sorry for letting you and everyone else down. I’m sorry to make you worry like this. I’m so sorry for everything. I never could protect you like i said i would. I never could take you to the stars you loved so much. There’s so many things i wanted to do, So many regrets.
I’d like to say sorry for failing everyone and never living up to your expectations. To Park Man-Young, my mentor and friend, i’m so sorry for never amounting to much in this sport you loved so much. This sport you made me love so much. To my family and friends i love you all.
The pain is going to stop soon, i can feel everything fading now. I’m fading away now. But now as i’m writing this in what could be my final moments, i’ve never felt better. Never felt more at ease. I’m sorry i let you all down. I’ll always love you all. See you again, ok?
Love,
Sang-Hyun Lee
