-The scene opens up with Donny Deville coming in and out of frame from top to bottom. The shot zooms backwards and it reveals he’s doing a set of pull ups. His feet and firmly perpendicular as well, showing off his near inhuman control of his upper body, his legs never wavering from this position. He continues for a few moments before ending by contorting his whole body over the bar, almost handstanding on it. He dismounts with a corkscrew flip before landing near perfectly, and then bouncing to spin around arms raised.
He still has his eyes closed as if imagine the roaring crowd, clapping and chanting the song of his people “U-S-A!” A smile forms on his face because it was as familiar a feeling as winning the PSW Championship. A trainer off camera congratulates him and throws a towel on top of his head. Donny doesn’t miss a beat and just wipes the sweat off. He drapes the cloth around his shoulders and stares into the camera, this time with a bright and wide smile.-
“Here I am Galaxy. Your champion. The man proud to represent you and the entire world. I will never shy away from my responsibility either. Because if I don’t carry the label of the best in the world at what they do, who will? I’m clearly the best man available for this role and will continue to be. I can’t let people who think they can waltz in and make a mockery of what I’ve done to hold this prize."
-Donny reaches out of frame and pulls the title out and places it on his shoulder. He looks to it and then back at the camera.-
“But I’m sure you all may be wondering why I have been doing the things I’ve been as well. You see, this business is a tough one. Sometimes you have to make sure the talent they surround you with is up to par. Everyone here can talk a good talk, but can they walk the good walk? What happens when they are faced with adversity? Are they the type to shy away and break, or are they the type to meet it face on and overcome?
As an athlete it’s my job to meet these types of expectations, not only from myself, but for everyone who aspires to be me and walk in my shadow. If the next person didn’t have to climb as tall of mountains are they truly ready to shoulder the hopes and dreams of the people before? I think not. That’s exactly why I’ve been testing guys like Space Oddity. It’s not out of disrespect. But more to prepare him. It’s not just posing for cereal boxes or signing autographs. It’s contending with whatever the sharks in the back come up with.
That’s a vital part of what makes a good champion. The wear-with-all and will to make the tough choices. To be the hero the people need. Adversity breeds strength and I’m going to make sure anyone who stands in that ring with me, title on the line or not knows I mean business.
So I welcome Space Oddity to channel those feelings of regret and remorse. I welcome him to reflect on what I just said. Because he’s going to need to step his game up to my level. I refuse to lose to someone who isn’t going to be the next shining star of hope in Phantom Star Wrestling.”
