1. What's your real name?
I mean, we don't need to get all technical about it, right? You don't need my last name or anything i'm assuming... That being said, my real name is "Hurricane" Doug. The "hurricane" surname came from my rookie season in rugby. Much like any other male (and probably female) Grouping of people, in this case, sports related, they called me hurricane... Nothing cool behind it other than the taco bell commercial. As far as my lack of cardio, hurricane was more of a joke than anything. During conditioning, i've been called tropical storm, all the way down to a light drizzle. lol. Fun times.
2. When did you begin Fantasy Wrestling and how long have you been doing this?
I guess, let's see, I started doing Fantasy Wrestling shortly after I started DJing... So, I guess around 18-19 years old, somewhere around there. Needless to say, everyone was under the impression that I was at least 21 when I broke into the whole club scene (if you wanna call it that. Kind of... well... Not really a scene. There were a handful of clubs in one area, and then my home club -which was the only one at the time in my hometown.) Needless to say, I think I had like two or three 21st birthdays... Yeah, it must have been 18 when i started, cause i had two fake 21st birthdays, and then my actual one where I did pretty much nothing cause it'd all been done twice before. LOL.
I guess I could have given you the short answer which would be 14 years? Yeah, something like that. Never been too hot with the whole "math" thing... Plus that's assuming i have my current age correct right now. So, anywhere from 12-14 years. No more than 14. lol. That's been an off and on process. Actual like, hardcore devoted time spent to the hobby when it comes to writing... Maybe a grand total of 7 years(ish) I dunno. I'm rambling. You'll find that I do that a LOT when it comes to these kinds of things.
Moving on.
3. Which one of your characters (assuming you have more than one) is your favorite and why?
Consistantly, I've only had 2 characters. Weird, I know given the amount of time i've put into the game. There were a handful that I'd run with on GeekSoft. Started out with the basic brooding, dark, maniacal, hand of god type of character. Deciple. (i know it's not spelled correctly, but, that's just the way it was put on paper given my firm grasp of phonetics back then.) I ran with him for... Shit, years. Loved him, but he ended up getting a bit one dimensional. So, I ended up creating Inkt (once again, spelled wrong, only this time it was intentional.) Inkt, has gone through various stages in life. Starting out as your typical big man with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. For me, that was the easiest transformation coming off of deciple, without having to go full on persona change. (which, let's face it, when we try that, it tends to fail, and that character fizzles out, and we go back to old faithful.)
So, after a stint in TEW, and then ....What the fuck was it called.... South Side Wrestling maybe? I don't remember, it was the one run by chainz -a good friend of pugh. Which, right there, was the fucking catalyst for the dynamic character change. Inkt, for the most part had started out with a "hulk smash" type of a thing. Fond of the 'juice' and did whatever it took to get an advantage in the ring. That advantage of course came in the form of pills, injections, whatever else... You know, shit that LAL does when he "works out." lol.
I digress, once pugh and I started hitting it off, Inkt began to change. We had a game of one upsmanship (sp) between the two of us. In one of the RPs that he did, he eluded, if not flat out said that Inkt did gay porn. Well... I wasn't about to be beaten by that, and let him get one over on me, so i ran with it. Oddly enough, it worked. It worked a little too well. As time went on, the "inkt smash" was still alive and well, only now? Now inkt was what we called an "aggressive homo" It wasn't until mid way through my stint in New Edge, that Inkt flat out embraced his bi sexuality. (Just like you never go full {Mongo Edit: Nah we don't say that anymore}, you never go full homo. Inkt was bromo©) So, he became as many in new edge would put it, Pugh's sidekick. Some might debate it, some won't either way, that was some of the most fun I had. Each week, I looked forward to RPing with pugh. We'd roll off of one another's, and essentially the two of us got so good at it, we could just as easily write eachother's character (which, some times we'd do... not to the point of where we'd log in and do eachother's RPs or anything, but you get the gist of it.)
The long and short of it once more, after my fucking RP of an explanation and brief history of Inkt, I'd say he's my favorite, although, without pugh, it's a lot harder for me to embrace the comedic aspect of him, and for the most part, im finding myself struggling with him, and falling into an old habit of mine which is the original version of Inkt, only with what would seem like forced comedy, instead of the organic comedy that I had when i was working with Pugh.
4. What's your favorite character owned by another player?
I honestly can't narrow it down to one. There's so many great writers, and in all honesty, that's what I look at... The writing of the character. Wrestling to me, as far as Pro, means jack and shit when it comes to how I gage the talent that inhabits this world of ours. So, I'll break it down as such.
My favorite comedic character(s) are Ryan Pugh, of course, Keif, the combo of Journey and Joka (the only tag team to really give pugh and I a run for the money if I recall. We could go rounds with those two. Basically, they were a tat n fat lite. They rolled off of each other really well, and could really hone in on one another's characters. A lot of give and take without putting the author of the RP over. Which is the way I think tag team RPs should be written. Never should the writer put his character over completely when it comes to involving an RP with the two.)
I also really have to throw al envy in there for comedic relief, back in the day when he was with jayden, the two were un touchable. Really, what it comes down to? I loves me some straight up tag team comedy. It's one thing to be funny on your own, and hell, more power to you if you can pull it off, but to create an essential weekly sitcom between you and your tag partner, that's gold in my book.
Although, Shane Sparx had a few comedic characters that I enjoyed reading as well... The names escape me, and you'll find that happens a lot through out these questions, so, i'll end up using handler's names instead. Also, keep in mind, I was pretty much, and still am a one fed kind of guy. So, a lot of these are going to be either New Edge guys, or Underground guys, or ... yeah, you get the point. Hell, even some TEW guys might get a mention every now and again.
So, aside from comedy, and just flat out writing? I really dug -and still do (wish he'd bring him back) Roger Wright's Alt character (no. Not mathew carter...) Colt i think was his name? Just a really cool writing style behind that character, which is honestly, what got him pushed up so quickly when i was filling in as interim owner for jesse. It was unique to me, and just a really cool way of presenting your character. Don't get me wrong, I love how chris does roger, but in my mind, roger is a well written wrestler... So for me, that just kind of falls flat. Cause, like I said, i've never really been a huge "wrestling fan" so, when it comes to promo style (which he wasn't/isn't) I'm out of my league. I'm in it for the story telling, and that's what chris was able to do with colt.
I also, enjoy reading hunter's work too. The dude is filled with soo much rage when he's fired up about a match/opponent/feud. He's gotten a lot better with his comedy too. Love him or hate him, he's a hell of a guy to work an angle with. He'll take an angled loss in a heartbeat if it helps progress the story. He does have, or has had a bad habbit of putting himself over, but, that's just the nature of the beast i suppose. All in all, i fuckin hated his ass in TEW, but, as time went on, I'd go as far as to saying the dude's a legit internet friend with some solid talent. Once again, a different style then the aforementioned authors.
Now, I guess, if I had to narrow it down to my all time favorite writer/character? It'd be XXX. That fucking guy had a gift. He'd chew his opponents up and spit them out. It was like some sort of gift bestowed upon him by the efedding gods. He was the full package. He could promo like none other. He could novel with the best of them. Rolling RPs? No problem... But, of course with all that talent, you get the ego. His one true fault. He HAD to win. No ifs ands or buts. He. Had. to. win. Plain and simple. However, there weren't many times where that was in question. There were a couple of close ones that could of have gone either way with the guy, but it is what it is. It's the nature of the beast I suppose when it comes to rosters filled to the brim with talent. Several years back in efedding's high point. Where people weren't just playing to play. They were playing to win. The height of flame wars. The Woosk dynasty if you will. lol.
There are of course some honorable mentions as well that I'll list in no particular order, as well as no long ass summary to explain way. (im sure you guys are already getting bored. Hell, those of you that were even curious enough to read this are probably losing interest already, and we're on the what? Second or third question? Right... So, here goes.)
PT
Mike Park
Noc
Areas
Aaron Abraham
Johnny Stylez (When I could actually finish one of his RPs and it wasn't full of repetition. He's pretty enjoyable)
Blair (didn't used to be a fan, but over the past several years, im really digging will's work)
Hazard
Chris Palmer
Rockstar Randy Ramon
PJ
Valora and Kronin (of course. They should be on just about everyone's list)
......
I'll cap it there. I'm sure there's a lot of great talents that could probably top my list, but at the same time, i don't usually go out of my way to read other people's stuff unless they invite me to, or if it's on the front page.
So in a nutshell, yeah, that's my long ass answer to a simple fucking question that in all honesty, would or could suffice with a 3 to 4 word answer. Sorry. I might also be a little high. Did a snooter at work last night to get my by. What can I say, Cocaine's a hell of a drug... And it's no longer taboo... Yay! So I can't be judged as harshly for taking a bump every now and again to gain a couple extra hours of fun time. (if you are judging, screw you. I'll judge right back... fucker(s) )
5. If you could own a fed (different than your own if you own one) that's on this site past or present, what would it be and why?
Assuming that the fed already had the success behind it, and I wasn't building it up... Or burying it? Uh, I'd say, on success, talent, and activity alone, i'd go with WECW/ROW back in their prime. That was a bad ass concept. (you'll also notice that it's more of a creative writing fed instead of your standard wrasslin' type... Once again, im gonna beat it into your heads... lol)
Moonie and Vas were fucking amaze balls when it came to creating that universe. The only reason I'd want to run it, (and i use the term very VERY loosely, cause of how unique it was... I honestly don't think anyone could run that world other than the two of them.) Is because of the overall creativity put into it. The alter universe, the awesome results. Just everything from top to bottom was class. However it took a certain type of writer to really flourish in there from what I saw. I spent time in there, and fucking loved it. Those two took a lot of time to really get to know and understand character mannerisms, and just yeah. If i could run that fed the way they did? I'd be hard pressed to leave it to someone else. I actually had to put some thought into that and think of a fed that really stood out to me. I didn't want to just name a fed I hadn't been in, cause that's just throwing dart blindly and hoping that you have some sort of relevant reasoning behind your answer.
So yeah, my hat's off to Vas and Moon on their creation.
6. Who was your favorite feud with and why?
I haven't really been the feuding type. I don't really do a good job at carrying out a story. But, Hunter and I did have some pretty memorable moments, and I'd feud with him in a heartbeat, just because for what I lack in story/feud creation, he more than made up for it time and time again. The nice thing too is, when I got the chance to finally get over my dislike for him, and we'd been talking back and forth (I think I won him over with a few of my RPs, earning some praise from him. We all know how well praise can open up a direct line of communication between people...) He'd ask what i thought about this, or if inkt would do that... or, you know, stuff like that. It wasn't a one way street when he and I would feud, which is what i really respect about the guy when it comes to handling inkt. So, i mean, for those of you who haven't had a chance to feud with him, he's a good guy to get in on the ground floor with. Sure, if you're not too careful, you might get a couple of OOC jabs taken at you, but i think when he respects you as a writer, or considers you a friend, for the most part, it's just straight up writing. He's got the talent, and now that he's got his temper under control (ie his former foot in mouth syndrome) He's a good guy to get on with. However, there's always the chance that you're on the other side of him, (which i've been fortunate enough to not piss him off... At least I dont think i have) Then it comes out of him a bit more. But to end it on a plus side, win or lose, he wants the feud/angle/story to have both he and his opponent/partner ending the arch with a smile on their face, or at least the door open to work again down the road. That's my personal experience with the guy. He's come a long way since the prick we all knew and hated in TEW and early on fedwars. The dude knows how to burn a bridge. lol... just like X is gifted with written talent? Hunter is gifted with rage... In character and out.
7. What feds are you currently in? Are you looking at expanding to others?
For the most part, I'm a part timer. Currently I'm somewhat in NEW. I wanted to see what Jesse's new approach to the show concept is. After reading the first hype show, I'm intrigued... He's keeping me interested. Not that he never did, it just got to the point where I was getting burnt out towards the end of NEW's most recent closing. Upon them re opening I took a step back and kind of watched from the outside in. Chiming in every now and again, and offering up a match here and there. Mostly, just because, i'd end up not putting in the effort that NEW deserved. For me, it comes down to this, if the motivation is there, and the workload is at an acceptable level, i'll take on multiple feds... Right now though, just because the inspiration is low, and it being a busy time of year, I've just taken on small part roles. It shows in my writing as well... I don't really do graphics any more, I dabble in poser from time to time, but in all honesty, it just doesn't amuse me the way it used to, and i guess that carries over to the game as well.
I'm also in Wrestle Wars. Let me tell ya, that shit's cool to me. Especially being the non (here it comes) wrestling fan that I am. I dig how dave and fowler have brought characters to life, and the shows are just that. Our characters come to life in the best way possible given the limitations of the game. It really gives you a chance to suspend your expectations when it comes to results. It's a whole different type, and being that I don't know what a lot of the moves used are as far as written, or if i were to see them... (Like i couldn't watch a match and be like, "oooo, that was a sick ass... this that or the other... For instance, suplex. -i know what one is, and what what one looks like, i was just using it as an example.) But for people like me, who have very limited knowledge of the sport, seeing the guy that I made, who'd started out as a pic base, then evolved into a shitty poser, then a less shitty poser, and then finally the final look that only gets minor tweaks every now and again -come to life in an animated form? Shit, that's just the next step in fedding evolution in my mind. If the games they put out every year were as limitless as our imagination in writing? Man, that right there, would be a fucking beautiful thing. So, yeah, that's why I enjoy wrestle wars. That one for me is a win or lose, it doesn't matter type of a thing, just because I really look forward to seeing what Dave and Fowler's fine tuning renders out to be every week. Awesome stuff. Once the quality matches the vision, wrestle wars will probably be a top 4 fed easily.
As far as feds that are on the radar? Well, shit, in a perfect world, where I was at the peak of my writing, I would have jumped on the RSW bandwagon in a heartbeat, and in all honesty, im still looking into creating an alt strictly for that fed. With Inkt becoming stale for me, and him being a walking talking dick and fart joke cliche, an alt might be what i need to get me back to my standards. RSW would deffinately be the place to put it to the test. Place is a fucking breeding ground for talent. Each and everyone in there could easily be a main eventer (and probably are in various feds). It's like if there was an all star event that came around once a year, the line up would look very similar to what RSW has on just their roster. Let's not forget the results. I mean, it's the full package, for sure. So yeah, in a perfect world where time wasn't an issue, nor was motivation? RSW would top the list hands down.
But, that's just one. I'd love to get in on Z games. Im not a huge fan of zombie culture, but, given that noc is the driving force behind it (if it's still open?) and his attention to detail when it comes to the grotesque and macabre? That one has win written all over it too. I'd love to see him with a strong supporting cast though. He's got some solid ideas, but i think he, much like myself, bites off a little more than he can chew, or he gets caught up in feds that he has characters in. That wasn't meant as a slight against martin at all. Im a fan of his work plain and simple. Im a fan of him. He's one of the most chill, non confrontational, down to earth guys that i've met. So, if he were to ever, EVER ask a favor of me, and it was within my power, i'd do it for him. He's another that I consider a good internet friend.
I also wouldn't mind getting down in Island of the Misfit Wrestlers... Comedy. Come on. How could I pass that one up... But, once again, that's a perfect world type situation where I'd want to be able to commit an honest and fair amount of time. If the fed's good, then they don't deserve a half assed version of me... Which, is likely already happening. However, it's under prior knowledge that it would happen. Jesse expects it from me, and dave's just a go with the flow kind of guy. If WW becomes more competitive, and gains activity, then I'd be happy to try and put in more effort. I know that sounded kind of dickish, and it's not from lack of trying on dave's end, i just think the concept takes a while to really gain some ground, plus, i'd gather that a lot of the guys that are in there are stretched thin as it is, so WW doesn't get their top priority week in and week out. . . Which sucks, but that's just the nature of it all as i've come to find over the years.
8. In a perfect world where you had time to write whatever you wanted, what feds are you not a part of that you would like to join? Or rather, what feds interest you?
Well, shit, I guess I kind of answered that in the previous question. I wouldn't mind giving NGW or THW a go also, since we're in this amazing hypothetical perfect world... Both of them have interested me, and I'd love to see what Holly can do when she's got her claws sunk into the creative aspect of a fed. She's a hell of a writer, and I'm curious to see if that would translate over into being a hell of an owner as well... Which is why i'd join it. I'd like to experience first hand the fed that Holly molds in her image so to speak.
9. Have you been in a feud so thick with emotion that you felt as much anger toward the Handler as well as wrestler?
Yes and no? I think a lot of it came from personal reasons not really relating to said feud. However, there's been times when I held a grudge more towards the judge then the actual person I was in a match/feud with. It's one of those rare times where I had an ego issue. Early on, feuding with hunter would be taxing. He was awesome at gloating, and just making damned sure you knew for weeks, if not months after the arch had ended, that he'd beaten you. So, there'd been a few times where Hunter had gotten the best of me, and it'd spill over into mild anger with the handler. In all honesty though, more times than not, me not liking an individual would cause me to intervene and be like "nah, I don't want to run that angle with so and so. Or, nope, I want nothing to do with the guy..." Just for shit that had rubbed me the wrong way either in the DB, or skype, or wherever. It didn't even really need to be relevant to me, persay, if someone rubbed me wrong, then I'd make sure it was known to the owner that I didn't want to work with them. If they're a cunt out of character, there's a good chance they have cuntish mannerisms in character, and I don't need that shit. I mean, i hate to sound like an elitist, but, in order for you to get anything out of me worth while, you need to have my respect. Now, granted, it's not something that's too hard for someone to earn from me, let's face it if have some pretty low standards, but with that being said, it kind of says something about the person i dont want to work with.
10. If you could improve the efedwrestling.com site in any way (without returning game elements), what would you do?
I'd love an overall sidebar that shows who's online at that given point, that way, you don't have to really update or scroll through your friends list. If there's someone online, that you need to give a quick shout to, then there you go. The information is right at hand on the main page. Hell, it wouldn't be a bad thing to carry over to all the sub pages too. I know, im weird like that... But, I'm also fucking lazy like that too. I'd also love to have a link back to site main page in the fed menus. I don't like having to either go to my profile, then to the forums or main page from there. It just seems like something that'd be really easy to implement, and it'd save us a few steps as well. Is it a must? No. It's an option for convenience. I don't know what goes into the coding of the site, or anything like that, so i mean, i don't know what's out of the realm of possibility and what isn't... But I really do miss the monetary aspect of the game. Exploited or not, it was fucking fun for me. I loved trying to balance everything out. I think if there were some different formulas in place (look at me... Like i know what the fuck im talking about here) That, maybe it could be less easily figured out, and really add that extra dimension to the game. That was the real thing that sold me on fedwars over GS, the whole contract thing, the venues, advertising, fans... That whole package. I really loved it. It felt like a big accomplishment to see out a high priced ticket show... or to add more stuff to your arena (through legit means) you know? Like WW, it just added that new dimension to the game to take it to the next level. I'd really love to see something along those lines make a come back.
11. Every fed owner has a wish list for handlers, and sometimes even a wish list of characters from those particular handlers. What is your wish list if you owned a fed or were recruiting for one?
If absolution were up and running the way i'd liked it to have been, there's soo many guys and girls that i'd love to see there. Especially given the three character classes i had. To me, each of those things played well into an overall strong point of a writer. You had your generalized role plays for the fighters, the creative writing for the promoters, and then, the strategy, and hybrid type thing for venue owners who just wanted to write, and happened to own a venue that would obtain bragging rights for the more fights booked there.
But, i mean, yeah if i were to go off of that, the list would be huge, so i'll narrow it down a little bit (Like that's fuckin worked for me so far)
Hunter
Jesse
Pugh
Johnny Stylez
XXX
Noc
(those guys right there are some of the best you can have when it comes to getting talent in the door. They work with people, they cultivate story lines, they want a fed to succeed. Those traits are few and far between, but, if i had a limited number to bring into a fed that I was starting from the ground up, they'd be the first ones i reach out to. They are also multi tiered when it comes to talent. They're not just great Role Players, they're great minds. Pugh is a hell of a recruiter, and overall story mastermind. He'd have shit planned out for months in advance, and then he'd plan out counter measures if something were to go wrong with his initial plans. When he is on his game, there's next to no one who can touch him. Johnny is a hell of a brain stormer as well, and when he and jesse and pugh get in the same mindset? Sweet fucking jesus, it's amazing the shit they can come up with. Plus, J's a hell of a guy for the roster to talk to. He's very approachable and isn't shy about trying to feed the stumped party ideas. He reads almost all of, if not all of the RPs and has a solid feel for the roster. Hunter? Once more, just a damned good guy to work with. He's blunt, but constructive. He would give out RP critiques back in the day, and a lot of the people wouldn't like what he had to say, however, the few that actually took his criticism? There was a noticeable difference in their work, and usually for the better.
XXX is a graphical god, and would be a huge help to me because he's another one that aside from being a great writer, is pretty much awesome at everything else he attempts. He can do poser, which would be a huge burden lifted off my back, and used to really enjoy doing graphical work. Much like myself, if the mood strikes him, he'll go on a tear, and overhaul everything in a day, and it'd look amazing. Plus, he's a great counter to the rest of the guys i have on there when it comes to writing. He had a knack for bringing out the best in people, because everyone wanted to be "that guy" that defeated the notorious xxx.
Then, for a roster of general purposes?
I needs me some (bastards... All of them, noc would come into play here as well, after he'd finish up keeping the peace among the roster members)
I need valora and kronin (they're a package deal. Alone they're great, but together, ooc and ic? forget about it. They're a huge asset to any fed that they're a part of. Great on staff, great with the roster... Just awesome in general.
I'd need about 90 percent of the new edge roster back when it was at it's peak.
I'd need about 10 percent of the TEW roster when it was at it's peak as well.
Then, lastly, I would need 5-10 percent chunk of rookies and lower card members, a 40 percent of mid cards who could go either up or down. Down to help aid the lower talent in getting them that push to the next level, and then up to help the lower top tier guys feel less pissed about losing to the 10 percent elite. I think, even though that doesn't add up to 100 percent... as far as the different tiers go, a balance of that would be a huge success. It's when you get too heavy on either top talent or low talent that you run into issues. You get too much ego, and you get too many in and outs. So, really, a mid card upper and lower heavy fed imo is the way to go. Cause then, it's pretty much an even playing field, which makes things a bit more dynamic, and really allows the upper to seem like an elite bunch, and gives the lower guys something to really strive to break into. I mean, if you have that many mid card guys, you can carry out angles forever if you wanted, cause you don't have to worry about something happening along the way, and suddenly the person you're working with is in the main title picture. There's a lot more room to advance i guess im saying, so while you wait in line, might as well make the best of it and really dig and and create a program with someone, or focus on tag teams, or stables.
That's one thing that I really enjoy, a fed with a strong tag division and that has a good amount of stables. You know you have your 4-5 guy stables that really makes role playing fun, or even times when you have a couple of stables that are 8 plus deep. If you have two of them? Man, you could really set up some cool shit. Cliche shit, but cool all the same.
12. What do you do when you're not efedding? Other hobbies, job, and such? Married, single, kids?
Well, as far as hobbies go? I guess I could say graphic work, rugby, djing (which im looking at getting back into) Uh, i don't know if i can call it a hobby or not, but suffice it to say, i'm a social recluse... Borderline introvert, so im working on getting out of that box, and the girl im seeing right now is a huge help when it comes to that. I'd known her from the past, and we'd never really thought anything of hooking up as far as i could tell, and i had met her through some mutual friends back when i started working the club. Which was, shit... 14 years ago. lol. I had been seeing and eventually married a chick i was with for 10 of those 14 years, (cunt of a woman she was, but she gave me my beautiful and brilliant daughter, so i can't hate on her too much. Hell, now that we're divorced we're actually pretty cordial with eachother. . . For the most part. It's always hard when there's a child involved, cause you can't just cut line and go start all over again. Unless of course one of you is a bonafide piece of shit and either keeps the child from the other parent for selfish reasons, or you just flat out dipped and want nothing to do with the kid...etc) so, in a round about way, I knew the girl that im seeing from a long ass time ago, then hadn't seen anything of her (or the rest of the crew for that matter) once i'd gotten with my ex wife..
Well, i hadn't a social life at all there for about 5 years due to working nights. Those of you who have done it or are doing it will know what im talking about. It's pretty much work, sleep, repeat. Then on your days off, all you want to do is take some you time. That's where I was. I was working nights, and my marriage began to implode around me... uh... right, anyways, so, yeah, i'd been single for a long ass time, due to work, and whatever else... I didn't have time, energy, or trust to commit to a relationship.
Well, then i got the chance to switch departments, and get to days. Which means, i got to interract with a whole new batch of people at work. Turns out the girl im with is one of them. We ended up shootin the shit, doin some random ass "remember when" type conversations. Well, as it turns out, we actually had a good amount of shit in common, and so, we started going out as friends, and of course, one thing led to another... A few pints, and lowered inhibitions, and well, now im the happiest i've been in 14 years. Although, I don't know how well I'll be able to emotionally commit when it comes to the relationship, just cause after what had happened with the ex, I have severe trust issues, and I have a hard time letting people in. I just keep everything inside, and put on a good front. I mean, i dig the fuck out of her and there's deffinately a long term future there, i just need to let go i guess. Which is what im working on. So, yeah... A hobby i suppose. Lol.
That is a bit more of the past I'd like to share, but, yeah.
So,
Yeah, i've got a few hobbies.
I have a 7 year old daughter that I don't see as much as i should, but value the time we get together.
Committed relationship
blah blah blah...
is anyone still reading?
13. What is your favorite fed?
New Edge three years ago i think. Might even be 4 years. You'll have to ask jesse. But, it was when we were just on a fuckin tear. Quality every week. So much fun every week. It was just... about... perfect. I miss that era of New Edge, for sure. I honestly don't think it will ever see it again, nor will it come close. It was literally just the perfect blend of everything. Plus that's when fedding was at one of it's high points too. All the feds that were around, were just killin it. Deep rosters, not too many fed whores, it was at the time, when you were in a fed, chances are that was one of two feds that you were in if you were in one of the big 5. There wasn't a lot of fed hopping so, it really allowed people to focus, and also allowed the creative team to create some great stuff. No one was going any where, so it wasn't too hard to put together a 1-2 month program. It was a blast. Jesse had a great support system, a great roster, I mean, like i said, it was probably the best time i'd had fedding. Currently, I can't really say there's a fave, cause im not really committed to the two that im in. At least not 100 percent.
14. Ok. A movie is being planned with Inkt who do you think would best be able to play this person?
Good lord, so, we'd need to find someone built, or that could get built. We're talking a fuckin brick shit house type of guy, and we all know that's kind of hard to find in hollywood, especially among people that can do comedy. I mean, really, there's maybe one or two guys that could pull it off, and that'd be the rock... He could do the role, but he's the wrong color. lol. It'd be a blend of his character in be cool, mixed with his character in pain and gain. Speaking of pain and gain, the only other I could think up off the top of my head is whalburg (sp) He's proven that he can get jacked, or at least look jacked, and he can do comedy. Honestly, I'd love to see him try to tackle inkt. Facially, he's not what i have in mind, but, let's face it, when you have an original character, and then have a poser, chances are, there's not anyone that he looks like unless he was made to do such. Inkt is original through and through, so, i mean... shit...
But how funny would it be to see a tatted up marky mark spouting just absolute nonsense, addicted to porn sites, and is roid raged the fuck out. Oh, and on top of that? He's aggressively prison gay. For those of you who've seen chozen, that's pretty much the level that inkt takes his gayness, if not a little bit further. Honestly, when i've been writing some of my RPs i feel as though they borrowed my mind while i was sleeping, and had me do a script for them or some shit. lol.
Of course, I can't have a movie about my character without his straight, hairy, larger than life, beast mode of a life partner pugh. Although, it might be a bit easier to dial him in that it would inkt. All you need is an abrasive big bearded tall as fuck southern boy. That might be an easier role to fill, although, im guessing he's put a lot more thought into than i have, given his love for movies and the likes.
It would be fun to watch a tat n fat movie with cameos from various influential characters we've crossed paths with. I picture a kevin smith movie for the most part, kind of a clerks type concept, or a tenacious D pick of destiny type thing. It'd totally be a misadventure type movie though. Hell, get that shit in the hands of Judd Appatow (sp) and you've got yourself one of the funniest damned movies of the year potentially. lol. Dammit, now i want a tat n fat movie. I hate you.
15. And finally...we gotta know. Why did you rebirth Absolution only to kill it like an unwanted Spartan child? The roster wasn't huge, but it was getting there. There just wasn't enough time given methinks. Why? Oh why did you tease us with a unique and interesting fed concept only to snatch it away? We are not babies for you to be taking candy from, and yet you still robbed us of this one pleasure.
The long and short of it is, my heart was in the right place, but I happened upon some bad ju ju or something when it came to connectivity and shit. As we all know, my router took a shit on me, and I was getting tired of typing shit out, then plugging my phone into the computer, and then uploading through my data plan on the phone. It was eating up a lot of room on the phone, as well as taking quite a chunk out of my data plan. So, I finally get a new router, but by that time, I didn't even want to look at the fed. It had sank twice before i even got it off the ground. Will it come around again? Probably, or some sort of other conceptual fed that focuses more on character development and interraction amongst the handlers ooc and ic. Honestly, my main vision for Absolution made so much sense in my head, but it was hard to project that into a concept that everyone would understand. In all honesty, I wanted everyone to work off of eachother as a whole, where I pretty much just worked out how to make it all blend together in a show, story line, etc. I mean, yeah, there would still be shows, but I mean, I had wanted to get to the point where essentially the matches would book themselves.
Something to where I would have minimal say in the overall outcome. Kind of like a choose your own adventure meets wall street meets the real world... etc etc etc... Kind of just an organic feel to it. It was a lot to hope for, but i think in all honesty, had my router not gone down when it did, I would still be around with it, and probably have a medium sized fighting roster, and characters that started out as NPCs that i was playing weeded out. It was really just a different approach to the tried and true system. I was trying to carve out a niche, but... yeah... Fuck you router. Fuck you hard. It's something that's is not out of the question. I'm sure there's an interest out there, but, at the same time, with as thin as the talent is spread right now, it'd be unfair for me to call in favors. But, there would be a heavy RPG type of feel to it as well to where I would essentially send out site wide messages, and then send out messages to certain people to present them with objectives to accomplish through their rp(s) that week to earn a bit of a boost. For instance, I'd message a venue owner and let them know that they needed to make a push to get their venue relevant for an upcoming fight. However, they wouldn't know who would be involved in the fight, simply because that was the promoter's job. Get their fighter booked in bouts and what not... I mean, it could in theory work, i just don't know how to accomplish it, and it'd take the right kind of staff (which i pretty much had) and a solid foundation of people who were willing to learn the system on all ends so they could offer, and show by example in their writing what would be ... I don't want to say expected, but that's really the best thing i can come up with for now.
Shit, this is sounding more like a pitch to re open it, that it is as to why it closed, lol. I tell you what, once again, had this been about 3 years ago, when... yet again fedding was at it's peak for the traditional way (like we do here) I think it could have taken off... Especially had we integrated twitter and facebook and shit like that back then. Hell, just think what a lot of the popular feds would have done back then with the addition of social media, and the huge amount of talent. Kind of sucks when good things come to an end...
Just like this interview. Thanks for the questions, thanks for reading (for those of you who read the whole thing, post below so i can show you gratitude, and also so I can see how many people's time i ended up wasting.
Thanks again. I don't know if it was all that interesting, but it kind of felt like i was writing a memoir or some shit. lol. I think the written interviews go better than the verbal ones. It just sucks to type it all out and then read it... When all you have to do is listen, and answer, and post the link for others to listen. But, honestly, more than half the shit that I've written in here, I wouldn't have come up with on the fly when it comes to a verbal interview, so hopefully there's a little more insight to the perverted and procrastinating, non wrestling fan: Hurricane Doug.
