We have here with us Rob Riot from the nGw. Formerly World champion (which was previously called "Mr. nGw") and formerly one half of the tag team champions with Valora Salinas. Let's see what makes him tick (heh).
1. You know the first question will be. What does the tattoo of the broken clock tell you? Does it just tick with a special meaning, or does it whisper damning words into your ear since it has been seen that you have done some pretty violent things after listening to it.
The tattoo reminds me of a specific time, on a specific day, in a very....particular time of my life. The image of the broken clock I saw burnt into my retinas, and once it faded I sealed it into my skin, along with the voices of the people I lost that day. I can hear them, talking to me, even if I don't want to. And the ticking....even I don't know. I think it's how long I have left. Or how long until they come back. I won't know until it stops.
2. You can't wrestle forever. Do you have a retirement plan put into place when injuries prevent you from competing? Or do you simply plan on trying to get out there until you die in the ring?
I have no family any more. The things I've done have denied me that right. There's nobody for me to retire for, no warm home waiting for me once I'm done on the road. Wrestling is my validation. If injuries were going to stop me, I'd already be done. I won't retire. I won't die in the ring. I'll just simply disappear one day....and the world will notice, and wonder where I went. And once they've started, they'll never stop.
3. What is your relationship status? Do you have children? Plan to? What about Valora Salinas? Seems you may have more than a bit of a crush on her. Where do you see that going?
What the Hell is this, a Vanity Fair column? An OK magazine feature? What does any of this have to do with what I am to you people? Rob Riot the publicly traded commodity, Rob Riot the wrestler, is the man we're here to discuss. And that's not to say there's any more to me than the wrestler. There was once. You really want to know? I was a father, once. A long, long time ago. And as for Valora...she understands that. Which is very rare, and very welcome. That's all I'm going to say on the matter.
4. It seems that you have been overshadowed a lot of late. Titles only changing hands at pay-per-views with Rip Bash holding onto the championship with an iron grip, even going on leave with it in his hot little hands. Even the tag team situation is built against you. How do you feel about all of this darkness being cast over you and your own title aspirations. Has to be annoying to the man who once had his own viselike grasp on the Mr. nGw championship.
Myself and Valora Salinas are being held down. I was screwed out of the nGw World Championship. Rip Bash has never once beaten me clean, but management never did a thing about it. Same with the tag team championship. And every time we get a shot at Revolution, the titles are mysteriously not on the line. Some would call that a conspiracy, but I call it bullshit. Our faces don't fit in the Audrey era, so we're going to make them fit. We're going to carve a hole into the side of nGw, rip out the putrid flesh and guts that we find there, and replace it with ourselves. Here's the simple truth of the matter - you can book me in the opening match, and it's still the main event. I'm the guy who sells the tickets. That's what Audrey can't stand. She didn't make me, and she can't break me.
5. If you had to change you finishing hold, what would you change it to?
The Black Widow. Multiple points of pressure, no realistic prospect of escape. I can use it. I may even start using it. Very soon.
6. Describe your wrestling style to me and how it compares to others if you could.
I'm catch-as-catch-can. If I need to fly, I can. If I need to brawl, I can. I'm not the most technical guy in the world, but I know more holds than your average. Can guys fly higher than me? Sure they can. Can they hit harder? Yes. Can they out-stretch me? Yes. But nobody is as good right across the board as I am. I'll out-brawl the high flyers and out-skill the brawlers.
7. Who would you count amongst your most hated foes in the nGw?
Rip Bash, but he's gone now. Creator, because he's a coward, and the Player, because he faked cancer just to get one over on me. And Audrey Alfaro, because she's too weak to run a company but does it anyway.
8. Who would you count amongst your allies?
Valora Salinas. That's it. I trust nobody else.
9. Speaking of allies. What would you do for them? Would you sacrifice personal glory so they can shine, or help them so long as it doesn't impact your own return road to glory?
Allies in a professional sense? I'd step on their head in an instant, and if they wouldn't do the same to me then more fool them. Unless you're family to me, or even closer than that, I'm not going to deny myself for your benefit. We're all here, professionally, for the same reason. Those who can't see that never prosper.
10. Who have you not faced that you would like to face in the ring?
Max Syndicate is making a lot of noise, very fast. He needs to be tested, properly. Dylan Erickson, because somehow we've never faced off despite how long we've been in nGw for. I've wrestled everyone else. Every name you can think of.
11. Is there anyone you have faced that you would like to face again in the ring?
Rip Bash. One more time. In terms of the rest of the nGw roster? I'm sure they're bored of losing to me by now.
12. What lows would you sink to for a chance at eternal glory? Like your name and likeness would be known for a thousand years kind of glory.
My name and likeness will already be known for a thousand years, and I can't ever go lower than I did the night the clock broke. You want to know something about hitting the bottom? It gives you clarity. It gives you purpose. When you know, without hesitation or doubt, that you hit the lowest point a human life can sink to, then in that same instant, you realise that you've survived it, and you'll never be that low again. So I have no fear. I have no limits. And there is nothing I wouldn't do to sustain this.
13. I hear a lot about "the Light" from you. What exactly is your religious preference?
The pious would call me a Satanist. The ignorant would call me an atheist. The ancient would call me a prophet. The Light is that which we all make of ourselves, but unites us in purpose. The Light is the idea that liberates your mind and allows you to accept yoursef. The Light is the illumination that envelops you in its halo and allows you to become your own personal God. I am God. I create myself. I am the Bringer of the Light.
14. How long have you been wrestling?
Fifteen years - although there was a very big hole in the middle of all that.
15. When did you begin wrestling? We are imagining that you didn't walk in off the streets for an nGw contract.
No Limits Championship Wrestling. I was the youngest World Champion of all time. And back then that belt carried no baggage. Love was new, fate was kind, actions had no consequence.
16. If you were never fated to be a wrestler, what would you have been?
The best in the world at whatever the world found for me. If I'd have been a delivery man, I'd have been the best in the world. I could have been the best truck driver in the world. The best baker. The best tailor. But honestly, I think I'd have been a Preacher of the Light. And the first the world would have known of me would be the day I came down from the mountains with my flock, ready to take over.
