1. What's your real name?
Darren.....no not Shane. Shane was my childhood dogs name and Mitchell is my mothers maiden name.
2. When did you begin Fantasy Wrestling and how long have you been doing this?
It's about six months now although I had found the site quite a long time before that. I had a little less time at that point and decided against joining, but now with slightly different circumstances I decided to sign up
3. Which one of your characters (assuming you have more than one) is your favorite and why?
I actually really liked writing Casper Carter in WHW although only did two roleplays before they closed. He was completely ridiculous with a dead friend who spoke in his head and Paul the hound who also talked to him. He was very much a comedic character designed to fit in with the style of WHW. Reverend Shane Mitchell is now the character I have chosen to use as my primary character and I think he's my favourite as I've got a significantly more developed idea of his backstory, the reason he is how he is, and I have a better plan for his future development as a character. He's much more fully rounded than Casper Carter, or will be in time.
4. What's your favorite character owned by another player?
There are so many great characters and writers on here that, that's a tough question. I love the humour of Rip Bash, the extraordinarily poetic use of language of Rob Riot, the versatility and consistancy of any PT Merciless character, and Dr Summeroff is amazing too.
Currently active I would have to say Rob Riot right now, his entire storyline in GCW that's been continued in RSW is fantastic and he's one character who I think every roleplay seems to leave a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting to read the next one.
Deke Dice is a character I really hope Summeroff brings back sometime. When I joined the site I had considered Shane Mitchell being a corrupt politician until I saw Deke Dice and realised what Summeroff was writing was basically the same character I wanted to create with the difference being that Summeroff writes him so much better than I would have done!
5. Have you ever owned a Federation?
No, and I've got no intention of doing so. I want this hobby to remain an occasional thing rather than something that becomes a chore or something you feel obligated to do. Even as a roleplayer I wanted a fed that would only require one roleplay every two weeks. That is enough for me. I would rather find myself urging the next event to arrive than thinking 'oh damn I have to roleplay again'.
6. If you could own one of the feds on this site, what would it be and why?
I'm pretty sure my answer will match almost everybody else on the site and that's RSW. Every single one of the best writers on the site are in RSW and there are so many matches and directions you can go with booking it makes keeping the fed entertaining a much easier task. With the exception of RSW most feds have 2 or 3 main eventers relevant to that fed, then there are some midcarders, some lower level writers etc and unless you book the same main event every week you end up knowing who's gonna win every week, that isn't a problem in RSW. There are probably at least ten people who on a good day are capable of beating the current champion Morcant Davis. If he was writing in any other fed it would get boring at the top title level because there would maybe be two who would stand any chance against him. Plus the 'verbal jousting' thread goes a long way to booking the events for the owners, making the job of booking easier!
7. Who was your favorite feud with and why?
I haven't really developed a proper feud yet. I had a mini something with Jordan Storm in nGw but it was just two matches with little really that went into it. I was only in nGw for 4 events, WHW for two events and now I'm just starting out in RSW so not had a chance to develop much yet. I'm pretty sure a bigger and better feud will develop within RSW given a little time.
8. What feds are you currently in? Are you looking at expanding to others?
Only RSW and no I'm not looking to expand on that.
9. In a perfect world where you had time to write whatever you wanted, what feds are you not a part of that you would like to join? Or rather, what feds interest you?
Probably the only other one right now I'd be interested in is Wrestlewars. The presentation of those events is ridiculously good.
10. Have you been in a feud so thick with emotion that you felt as much anger toward the Handler as well as wrestler?
No, not in the slightest. I can understand there being drama and arguments on here as it's a game we invest a lot of time and energy on, but to fallout over an 'in character' altercation is laughable and I'd actually quite like to see it happen just for the hilarity of voyeuristically watching the ridiculousness of it.
11. If you could improve the efedwrestling.com site in any way (without returning game elements), what would you do?
The site itself can't make this happen but in order for this place to improve it simply needs more quality feds and more roleplayers. There is simply no choice on here right now. RSW is the only place for the best writers, Wrestlewars is the only place for video based fed, Chaos is the only place for 'alternative' fed. It would be nice to see a little more choice.
12. Every fed owner has a wish list for handlers, and sometimes even a wish list of characters from those particular handlers. If you owned a fed now, what would be your wish list?
Rob Riot, PT Merciless, Deke Dice, Rip Bash, Chris Parsons, Michael Davis, Derren Archer, Kwyjibo, Frank Samson, Buck Florida, Joy Fantastic, and of course 'Reverend' Shane Mitchell.
13. What do you do when you're not efedding? Other hobbies, job, and such? Married, single, kids?
I'm not married but may as well be. I've been with my partner Joanne for 7 years and we have a 4 year old daughter, they take up an awful lot of my time. Most of my free time is spent in play gyms and parks or being the family taxi driver because Joanne can't drive having failed her driving test 7 times! My adult social life is drastically reduced since my daughter came along but manage to escape for nights in the pub at least once every few weeks. I also work full time in financial services as well as renting out eleven properties which I manage for myself so I'm pretty busy with all of that.
14. What is your favorite fed?
RSW but I'm guessing that's already obvious
15. Ok. A movie is being planned with 'Reverend' Shane Mitchell who do you think would best be able to play this person?
I'm thinking of somebody like Daniel Day Lewis from his 'Gangs of New York' role.
