THE NEW DANGER. THE NEW FACE OF THE NETWORK. THE CROWNED.
PIC BASE » Daniel Garcia.
HEIGHT » Six feet, one inches.
WEIGHT » One hundred and eighty-seven pounds (187lbs.)
HOMETOWN » Coventry City, England, United Kingdom
ALIGNMENT » Chaotic Neutral / Lawful Evil.
ENTRANCE MUSIC » ‘Styles Clash’ by Yonosuke Kitamura.
ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION » The slow beginning to ‘Styles Clash’ plays through the P.A. System in the arena as the house lights flash down onto the stage once the beat kicks in and onto the entrance curtain as the crowd awaits the arrival of James Raymond and raining down the mixture of cheers and boos from every inch of the arena. The figure of James slowly passes through the curtain from Gorilla Position as he looks around the arena. The half-mask worn around his head doesn’t give James the advantage of expressing himself, but from the way he’s looking around the arena and soaking in the crowd’s negative reaction, his nods are in approval of how the crowd feels about him.
James begins his walk to the ring, the spotlights following him down the ramp as he ignores those who reach out for him, even going as far as kicking the barricade that holds the fans back as he passes by. The Coventry native makes his way to ringside and walks around the ring until he’s leapt onto the ring apron where the hard cam faces, from there he begins to unwrap the mask from behind his head, pulling away at the final knot as the ring announcer begins his introduction.
Upon hearing his name being announced, James pulls the mask away from his head and reveals the bottom half of facial features to the hard camera that points right down at him, finally getting a good look at his cocky grin rubbed all over his face before he passes through the ropes and enters the ring, looking around the arena with that same shit-eating smug look on his face as he slips free from his ring jacket and places it down in his corner, ready for the match to begin / ready for his opponent to enter the arena.
BACKGROUND
GIMMICK » For years, he’s spent his time perfecting his talents in Japan under the Japanese Renaissance of Kakuto brand—but his tenure in Japan has been there for long enough, his vision expands further than the Japanese professional wrestling scene. James simply wants to recreate the wrestling world into his own image, an image that he thinks is the right image, of technical wrestling and ‘pure rules’ matches being the new form. None of the drama, none of the bullshit to wrestling, just pure wrestling. The way it has, and always should’ve, been from the beginning. However, for Raymond, there is no ‘gimmick’ or ‘persona’ per se. A roughened ‘catch as catch can’ professional wrestler who’ll do their best to tear at the limbs of his opponent’s and make through with violent tactics and traits. It’s his only desire, his only motivation, and to finally define what it once meant to be James Raymond again.
