A highlight reel of footage from matches and moments of the J-ROK roster begins to play while acoustic guitars play in the background. We cut to a few people sitting on a stage in chairs. Behind them are guitars, basses, drums and other instruments as well as pro wrestling memorabilia. A big screen is set up behind them and a logo that reads J-ROK Unplugged can be seen.
Psycho KGB: “(Welcome to J-ROK Unplugged everyone! I’m your co-host and color commentator Psycho KGB! With me is J-ROK play-by-play commentator, MUSHI!)”
MUSHI: “(Yo, I’m MUSHI. And like KGB-San said, This is the debut episode of Unplugged. This show will act as your information hub, a way for us to talk about the current happenings in the company and even things that happen outside the company with our roster members! We’re hoping to make this show happen bi-weekly at the most and monthly at the least. So please bear with us.)”
She bows before they continue on.
Pysco KGB: “(That’s right in this show we will give you company news, talk about current storylines, rumours, social media, and even give our opinions on things happening in J-ROK and within the rest of the J-ROK community. We may even hold interviews and have guests on to give their opinions on events going on as well! So check it out for some fun stuff going on.)”
We pan across the audience in attendance as they clap for the two hosts.
MUSHI: “(We’d like to first talk about the companies SSS and SKS, the two companies whom we were created from and the last SSS Event, Winter Festival 2019. Many questions are probably being thought and asked right now about the champions walking out of Winter Festival 2019 as well. Well we have big news for everyone regarding that.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Well don’t worry everyone, we’ll be merging a good bit of the titles between SSS and SKS. The titles merging will be the Pride of Sakura Championship and the Jumpstart Championships to form a new mid card title. We’ll also be merging together the SKS Heavyweight and SSS Goddess of Sakura Championships to form J-ROK’s main event title. The Angles of Sakura titles will continue to be used, but the name of the titles will change. The Idols of Sakura Championship will continue to be used as a midcard or uppermidcard title. Again like the tag team titles, it’s name will change as well. We will also add a title for the lowercard and openers as well. More information will come for this title at a later date.)”
MUSHI: “(These titles will be merged at our first special/pay per view event coming to us on March 28th. The name and venue for that event will be released at a later date as well. But two matches that will be on that card is the Pride of Sakura Champion at that time Vs. the Jumpstart Champion at that time and the current SKS Heavyweight Champion Naoki Ojima will have a Sakura Tag League rematch as he’ll face the current Goddess of Stardom Champion for the first time in a singles match, as well as to crown our first J-ROK main event level champion. Also another match that will take place on that event will be XHF Women’s Champion Hanako Takeuchi will defend her belt against Bodhi in a match as well.)”
Psycho KGB: “(That’s some very big news indeed! Three matches set for our big March show and the state of the titles from SKS and SSS! But before that we have the Inaugural J-ROK draft on January 25th and our big debut show on February 29th! Now don’t tell anyone MUSHI-Chan, but I heard there’s a few big signings that officials are working on getting. Some people many fans from the XHF may know and some fans from outside the network may know. Either way everyone at J-ROK is very excited and pumped for the future!)”
MUSHI: “(But now we’d like to have our first guest and interview on Unplugged!)”
Beneath The Tides By Ravenface plays as Daisuke Tokugawa’s tron appears on the screen behind the hosts. The man himself comes out from an entrance way in the back of the crowd. He walks through and gets on stage where he takes a seat in the empty chair.
Psycho KGB: “(Welcome Tokugawa-San, we’re so happy to have you as our first guest on Unplugged! I think we’re all wondering the same thing though, at Winter Festival 2019 you were the one to tap out to the SKS Heavyweight Champion. Can you tell us your feelings on that match and if given another chance what would you do differently?)”
Daisuke Tokugawa (chuckling a bit): “(I don’t really feel any difference compared to when I defeated Fukushima Zombie all those months ago. Am I upset that I didn’t win the gold? Yeah, a little bit but Psycho, I’ve been in this business for 10+ years. Outcomes like that, especially with the amount of chaos that was occurring in that fiasco, make you get used to the feeling of loss. I won’t complain about getting another chance but that probably won’t be until the end of the year given that I’m able to condition my body back into decent form by then.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Another question everyone is wondering, why did you sign with J-ROK? After the circumstances on how SKS closed down, many fans were surprised to see you and many others sign with the new promotion.)”
Daisuke Tokugawa (rubbing his chin): “(Why did I sign? One of the higher ups in SKS asked me a similar question when I was putting pen to paper. Honestly, I’m not really motivated by money, glory, women, etc. I’m mainly here to see if the upcoming generation of stars that a company like this can provide to ensure that quality is still at the top of the wrestling world whether it be AWF, DW, MCCW, or J-ROK. Personally, however, I just want to show some of the youngsters that a veteran like me can still go the distance. If anyone has any doubts, just watch my excursion on MCCW’s Mastery Tour. Really don’t need to go any further than that in all honesty.)”
Psycho KGB: “(With J-ROK being heavily focused on stables and the big draft show coming at the end of the month, is there any stable you’d prefer to be drafted to? Anyone you wouldn’t want to be drafted to? And if so, why?)”
Daisuke Tokugawa: “(Preferably? Again, ties into my previous statement. I just want to show young up-and-comers that a man pushing forty can still put on a thirty or sixty minute match if need be. To be completely honest though, I wouldn’t mind being drafted into Zombie’s stable only because I want the experience of what it would be like to wrestle alongside her and not against her like our battle at Mastery in OKC. We can push each other to our limits and it took almost everything from us to try and put down the other. Endurance like that is the kind that will strike fear in opponents’ hearts because now they’ll really have to exert themselves to get one over. So a Zombie Shogunate? Heh, good luck knocking us down if that happens to be the case.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Are there any roster members you’d prefer to be in the same stable with? Anyone you’d not like to work with? And why?)”
Daisuke Tokugawa: “(Truthfully, that Okazaki fellow. Given he knows one of the people that I mentored a bit and wrestled alongside him at last year’s Winter Festival, I see potential in him. Just needs a bit of guidance to get some basics down because as much as there is power, it’s meaningless if there’s no technique to flow with it. So Takuma would be a top pick for me and perhaps that James Raymond kid. Still seems pretty young although some fine-tuning never hurt anyone, especially given that he’s been rather absent ever since AXW folded. Could even help him climb back up into that main event superstar he was. That is, heh, considering The Whaler doesn’t skewer him first.)”
Psycho KGB: “(What are your expectations coming into J-ROK? And what do you hope to achieve in the inaugural year of the company?)”
Daisuke Tokugawa: “(Expectations are rather simple. Get an explosive start and just help steadily build the company’s rep to be one of the top promotions in the Network. Considering J-ROK is a merger of SSS and SKS, then I have no doubt that the company already has a great foundation to build off of to allow them to blossom into something of great stature. As for personal goals? Just putting on quality matches for the fans to enjoy. If the fans are happy, I’m happy on my end. And if the chance happens to come knocking, win a championship in the midst of everything to show my nephew. I know he’s been trying to push me in our sparring sessions ever since he won his first title a few months ago. Other than that, not much else to it.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Thank you for your time today Tokugawa-San! If you will, we’d love to have you stay for just a little while longer and give your opinion on SSS’ Winter Festival Show with us.)”
Daisuke Tokugawa: “(Winter Festival 2019 was another good example of what kind of quality that us Japanese stars can put on. Granted that most attention is either put on AWF, DW, or MCCW on a week-by-week basis, heads swiveled on us when the day finally arrived and all eyes were on us. The event started off hot with that Battle Royale put on by the MCCW boys and all the way to the finish it was just top tier. I really have no complaints as to what could’ve been different because management was just that good at setting all of that up.)”
After that Daisuke shakes the hosts hands and he leaves the stage.
MUSHI: “(There was a lot of wisdom and insight from Tokugawa-San just now. Thank you Tokugawa-San for joining us tonight, we hope you all enjoyed it. But that brings us to our next segment. Next we’d like to give our thoughts on the Winter Festival event from December 28th.)”
Psycho KGB: “(That’s right now we’ll take a look at SSS’ Winter Festival 2019 event. This show was held in the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama in front of 75,000 people. That’s rivaling some XHF branded shows! That’s quiet impressive.)”
MUSHI: “(What else would you expect for their biggest event of the year though Psycho-San?)”
Psycho KGB: “(Fair enough there MUSHI-Chan. For the show we started off with a match from the American promotion MCCW. A match that had every champion in the company in that very match as well. These guys really put on a good showing to open up the show don’t you think MUSHI-Chan?)”
MUSHI: “(Yeah they really gave it their all that night and the underdog Adam Marston got a huge upset victory beating many top stars of the company in that battle royal. We also saw a segment of Bodhi and Boom-Boom from earlier on in the day. They’ve just not had a good time and they’re whole attitude had changed after that.)”
Psycho KGB: “(That’s right, but honestly, i’m really digging the change in attitude from these ladies now. It’s good that they won’t be pushed around anymore!)”
MUSHI: “(Yeah, but there’s better ways of doing it then acting like a bunch of jerks. What they did was completely uncalled for!)”
Psycho KGB: “(Uncalled for?! They’ve been treated as an after thought ever since Bodhi lost the Goddess of Sakura championship! Now they’re proving to everyone just who they are!)”
MUSHI: “(Well we’ll see i guess. Anyways the next match from that night was KUROKO taking on Rukia Matsuoka and Dixie Kixx. It was a fairly standard tag team match that saw another win from KUROKO. Not much has been seen from them after though.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Mhm, they did a good enough job in that match but not much can be said after that. Another match that we saw was James Edwards making his XHF Network and SSS debut getting a nice win over Veronica Jones.)”
MUSHI: “(James really impressed me with his skills in that match. No wonder he’s a former world champion in other countries. Jones held her own and proved why she’s just as good too though. It was a really close one.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Right. They both did pretty good and i hope we can see more from both of them in J-ROK. We also saw a technical shoot style match as Pride of Sakura Champion Idoru Pierrot beat Sabrina Faith. For me, honestly this MMA type of stuff is boring. I don’t care too much for it, but the fans were really into it so that’s good.)”
MUSHI: “(I really enjoyed the match. They did well and Idoru showed why she’s champion. What i’m curious about though, is who is that mysterious person in the hood? Do you have any guesses Psycho-San?)”
He thinks for a moment before giving an answer.
Psycho KGB: “(I’m not really sure who it is for sure, but from the looks it’s a woman. You know, based on the figure it looks to be that of a lady. Now which lady? Hmm… could it be the AWF’s Natasha? No… she wouldn’t come here. Maybe it’s the lady who used to be in Wrestlegasm.)”
MUSHI: “(Wrestlegasm?!)”
She asks, a bit shocked.
Psycho KGB: “(What? What’d i say?!)”
MUSHI: “(I didn’t expect you to be the type to watch a promotion like that. The only person to really do anything from that promotion is Ai Moe though. Do you think she’d leave LXW just to come here though?)”
Psycho KGB: “(Not full time no. It’d be pretty stupid to do that too. I’m not sure who it is, but whoever it is i hope we can see more of them sometime soon. I’m very curious to see who it is now! After that though we had the madness that was Ultra Kira Vs. Dreadvan in a Galactic Milkyway Deathmatch. I really loved this crazy mess of a match honestly. This is the insane stuff i live for!)”
MUSHI: “(It was very crazy! Honestly if they do another match i don’t know how much bigger they can go. It was something special, sorry, i just can’t say much more than that on it.)”
She laughes.
MUSHI: “(After this we had the Jumpstart battle royal. Before they held a 10 bell salute to Fabiano Fiddleiano, who had been found dead just a week or so before. It was a touching moment in the show.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Yeah it really was. As for the match itself, we saw some big moments and a new champion too. The Angel brothers even had to face off in the end! It was something shocking to see. And after that match we saw the 182 day reign of Blake Belladonna come to an end in a bloody and brutal lights out death match! Just the way i love it!)”
MUSHI: “(It was very violent indeed. Blake has done very well as her time as champion too. But it was the Star Warrior Momoko Honda who really shined that night and stopped her record tying reign. She recently posted on twitter too that she’d like to be world champion this year as well. We’ll see what her future holds in J-ROK soon enough!)”
Psycho KGB: “(After that we had a spooky vignette saying someone was coming soon. That’s going to be very interesting to see when they come. After that we had a match between AWF’s Greg Adkins and a man who we’ve seen a handful of times over the years here and someone who recently signed with J-ROK, Kira Izumi. This match was everything you’d think it’d be too. Lots of fireworks and a huge brawl.)”
MUSHI: “(The end of it really hurt to watch. I couldn’t imagine actually being the one going through it. And you know it had to hurt using the bathroom afterwards for a while too. The match as a whole really made me cringe more than anything seeing them get close to winning. It got hard to watch at times.)”
She says as she laughes.
Psycho KGB: “(I can see how some fans can see it that way. It was pretty crazy. After that we saw the SKS Heavyweight Championship match. Naoki managed to retain his title just barely in this awesome match.)”
MUSHI: “(It was a really fun and exciting match too. I thought any of them could of gotten it at any time! They all really gave their all in it. And after that one we saw SKY Force end the record breaking reign of The Dosanko. It made me so happy seeing Suzuki finally achieve her girlhood dream of winning a championship too!)”
Psycho KGB: “(They got really creative in the match too. All four women really kicked ass that night. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next with SKY Force! And after that one we saw another tag team match with FEM and Sakura-Gun. Lots of history in this one between all of them.)”
MUSHI: “(There is a ton of history between them. They’ve been rivals since Boshi and Sakura Hase’s first matches way back in 2017. But it was Bodhi and Boom-Boom who beat their rivals in this insane brawl.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Yeah i really loved seeing them go all over the stadium and into the crowd. And that ending it was brilliant! Seeing Bodhi break Hase’s arm was mental man!)”
MUSHI: “(That was uncalled for! Completely uncalled for! I hope someone gives them a taste of their own medicine!)”
Psycho KGB “(The next match saw a hurt Hanako Takeuchi defend her XHF Women’s Championship against the Pink Pixie Nixie Caine. She hurt her ribs in a match during a tournament in another promotion in Japan too. It was an ok match though. Not my thing with the technical and submission stuff but they did well.)”
MUSHI: “(Nixie had good psychology targeting the ribs though and Hanako focused on a few parts too. It was a very good match. After that though we saw another good match between the face of SSS and the international superstar. Fukushima Zombie and Emi Hirota put on an instant classic against each other.)”
Psycho KGB: “(It was a very good match many fans were looking forward to seeing. They really delivered in this one. We also had the finals of the Sakura Tag League too. Fire Blood Clan tried all they could, but Dodo-A-Gogo delivered the goods and got the big win. I really enjoyed the chaos in this one.)”
MUSHI: “(It was a very solid match and now Do-A-Gogo are millionaires! Hopefully Lisa can use this momentum and keep it going. Maybe she can hold gold again too. After this though we saw a chilling promo from STRiFE. She said what she was going to do in her match coming up and honestly she gives me chills sometimes. STRiFE is not the kind of person to piss off by any means!)”
Psycho KGB: “(She showed Darlene Price just what happens when you piss her off too. Both of them nearly killed each other the whole match. I was on edge the whole time! And that ending was just nuts!)”
MUSHI: “(Yeah that was out of nowhere! They both really delivered in this one. Then we had the farewell address to SSS. to say there wasn’t tears from the fans and wrestlers would be a lie after it was all said and done. It was so emotional!)”
Psycho KGB: “(Yeah it was very emotional for everyone at the end there. There was allot to come out of it too though. And if what they said was anything to go off of, things are going to get very interesting! Oh man and that final shot of the ring!)”
MUSHI: “(I know right! That’s what really got me. Overall i’d say it was a nice show and a good way to showcase the legacy of SSS and SKS.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Yeah it really was. But now we need to move on from that show and look forward to the next one. The J-ROK Draft! We have info for everyone on the Draft right here, right now! Our first piece of information we have is the 5 units and leaders who will take part in the draft itself.)”
MUSHI: “(The first Stable is called Animus and will be led by Bodhi. The next stable is called Kado and will be led by STRiFE, the next one we have for you will be the stable called SKY Force led by Nausicaa Suzuki. The next stable will be called PURE and is led by Dexter Point. The last one will be called Death Strartling and will be led by Fukushima Zombie.)”
Psycho KGB: “(As for the draft itself, like we said on our twitter account Each leader of the 5 stables will take turns drafting one wrestler or tag team. Once every stable has made one pick that will be the end of one round. When the first person to pick makes another pick that will be the beginning of the next drafting round. The draft will continue till every member of the roster is drafted.)”
MUSHI: “(As for tag teams, they can be split up during the draft. If someone drafting specifies they only want one member of the team and doesn’t draft the other member later on then they can and likely will be split up. Once drafted to a stable you must stay within that stable. The next drafting event will be held next year on the last saturday of January. And every draft event going forward will be held in January. This years Draft will be held on January 25th.)”
Psycho KGB: “(The Draft will be a live draft and the order in which the stables will pick will be found out on the day of the draft via random selection. The day of the draft all stable leaders will be present as well as all J-ROK roster members. The stable leaders will pick from a list of the entire J-ROK roster till all the names have been chosen. Once that happens the event will end. That’s all the information we can share with you today. And this is all the time we have for the show today. Thank you all for watching and we hope to see you next time on J-ROK Unplugged!)”
They both wave goodbye as the screen fades into the shows logo and eventually to black.
