Mike Lio stands in a ring against someone. Who? Doesn't matter. It's been approximately 6 days since his last match, and the spirited promo he cut after said match. During this brief period of downtime, Lio did some deep thinking, and training as well, in anticipation of his upcoming match. As the bell rings, Lio immediately rushes at his opponent, delivering a brutal series of open handed slaps to the sternum of his opponent. Not allowing the man to breathe for a moment, he rushes the man into the corner, where he then applies an ULTRA STIFF chop, again to the sternum. Lio backs off to the middle of the ring, as the man slumps into a sitting position in the corner. Seemingly getting a crazed look in his eyes he lets out a giant roar; The sound of this almost sounding like an actual lions roar, before running full tilt into the corner sending his knee directly into the mans face.
The result of this brutal move pops the mans nose like a tomato, and the ref is forced to call for the bell. Lio ignores the sound of the bell, and roughly picks the man up to a standing position, and drags him to the middle of the ring. Shrugging off the refs attempts to stop him, Lio double underhooks the mans arms, lifts him high into the air, and drops him down face first hitting his new version of THE ROAR OF THE LION! Leaving the now unconscious man in the middle of the ring, Lio climbs the turnbuckles and roars defiantly to the crowd, this time actually sounding like a lions roar. The camera having gained an close-up of Lios face, we can see that his eyes have changed.....they now appear like those of a lion as the camera fades to black.
We catch up with Lio outside the arena, he's sitting down slumped against the side of the building. His head snaps to attention as soon as he hears the camera man approaching.
Lio: If you're asking if I actually killed that man, no I didn't. What I did was more of what you would call a mauling. He should feel lucky really, the first man to be "mauled" by "The Lion". See, I know the extent to which a body can be broken. How much punishment is enough, and how much is going too far. So I can do something like that, where it looks more deadly than it actually is. I mean hell, I didn't even break his sternum which I could have easily done if I wanted to. No, what happened here was....many things. A message to my upcoming competitors, a cathartic exercise.....a transformation.
"You see I don't have this nickname for nothing. There's an actual lion inside of me, one whose power I've kept at bay for so....so very long. But now, it's time for me to fully tap into this force....to unleash the beast within. Zombie and Moe....beware. Here there be lions."
Lio casually eases himself up to a standing position, and turns slowly to face the wall. Adopting a boxers stance, he starts heaving punches at the brick wall; The punches impact the wall with such force, bits of brick break off here and there. He then rears back, and sends one final punch with enough force, that he actually punches a hole in the wall. Extracting his bloodied hand he drops it at his side along with his other bloodied hand. He examines his handiwork with a casual grace....such as a cat examines a mouse it has caught.... before chuckling softly to himself. Turning on his heel, he walks away directly from the wall and out of the camera viewpoint.
