A highlight reel of footage from matches and moments of the J-ROK roster begins to play while acoustic guitars play in the background. We cut to a few people sitting on a stage in chairs. Behind them are guitars, basses, drums and other instruments as well as pro wrestling memorabilia. A big screen is set up behind them and a logo that reads J-ROK Unplugged can be seen.
Psycho KGB: “(Konbanwa This is J-ROK Unplugged, i am Pyscho KGB and with me is MUSHI. Tonight we have Supremacy, the J-ROK Draft show and our upcoming Jam Sessions show too.)”
MUSHI: “(And who can forget the Special IJWF Event with our partners, JET and LAW too! Collision Course II is going to be coming February 8th and 9th on the LAW/JET Network. We’ll go over the current state of that card, as well as even having an interview with a special guest later on tonight too.)”
Psycho KGB: “(We’d like to start off tonight with a recap of the J-ROK Draft. Lots of men and women were drafted that night and lots of surprises happened towards the end too.)”
MUSHI: “(That’s right, a whole lot did happen a few nights ago. I think we should talk about the most shocking thing first.)”
Psycho KGB: “(You mean besides the fact that SKY Force was replaced by some punk kid?)”
MUSHI: “(Yes, besides that Psycho-San.)”
Psycho KGB: “(That’s right, besides that little punk kid, We got a stable name change with Animus changing their name to The Pack! Also that last pick they made at the end, it was something else for sure.)”
MUSHI: “(But first lets make a recap of The Pack’s picks, Bodhi first chose her long time friend and tag team partner, the newly named Kat Oni. She also chose Zolothach, the resident drunk Randy Angel, Hannah Rockford, Takuma Okazaki, Miguel Diaz, and most shocking of all… the former Stormcrow!)”
She says shockingly.
Psycho KGB: “(That’s right the last ever XHF European Champion has made his presence in J-ROK known loud and clear now. He’ll be called Tommy Kelly now judging from how Bodhi announced him. But seriously, what a good get for not just The Pack, but for J-ROK all together! Another AXW alumni joins the ranks.)”
MUSHI: “(Speaking of AXW alumni many of them were drafted by GWA Legend and former SSS GM Dexter Point. Point drafted the likes of former AXW Undisputed Champions Nate Pierce and James Raymond…)”
Psycho KGB: “(Speaking of James Raymond he was a two time AXW Anonymous Assault Champion as well. And who can forget the infamous 16 day reign, ended by his now stablemate Nate Pierce.)”
MUSHI: “(Pyscho-San! You can’t say that! You’ll start things between them before the first show’s even started!)”
She says as she playfully hits him.
Psycho KGB: “(What? I’m just stating facts here! Besides also on the PURE team is Killa Kai, Kira Izumi, Carnivore, Olypmia, and Sanada Inoki and this just in, we’re told he’s picked up Amber Cooke as well.)”
MUSHI: “(That’s right, and we also have Ken-G of Youth Of The Nation who drafted Arata Tsutsumi, Momoko Honda, Yuri Mochizuki, Wolf Fang Ayame, GO Hasegawa and Lorcan McGregor.)”
Psycho KGB: “(There’s also the stable led by former SSS Goddess of Sakura Champion, Fukushima Zombie. Death Startling! Not Death Strartling, Death Srtanding or anything else that clueless idiot who runs the twitter was typing. She drafted Lisa Seldon and Anna Mathews, Hanako Takeuchi, Daisuke Tokugawa, Alexis Grace, Sabrina Faith, Regina Mercy, Alpha, Kenji Honda, Bad Luck Inc.)”
MUSHI: “(We also have the stable led by STRiFE, Kado. She drafted only Kenjiro Kurokawa, Michiru Kurokawa, Rio Kurokawa, Mayumi Kurokawa, and Kimiko Uehara.)”
Psycho KGB: “(That concludes our recap of the 2020 J-ROK Draft event. Now we’ll move onto Supremacy, at least the matches that involved those in J-ROK. The first match we saw was Killa Kai defeating Aiden Merric of AWF fame.)”
MUSHI: “(Mmm that’s right Psycho-San, the always explosive Killa Kai managed to use his speed and quick thinking to get a reversal and a few moves just right to beat the big brawler. It really could of ended either way though.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Yeah it really could of gone either way, but PURE’s Killa Kai got a huge win to start the new year. And after that match we saw the Pride of Sakura Championship declare it’s final champion before it and the SKS Jumpstart Championships are unified.)”
MUSHI: “(Idoru Pierrot got beat by the debuting Wolf Fang Ayame. What a bloody and brutal match that was! I really thought Ayame-San was out for the count.)”
Psycho KGB: “(I know right? It was so great! There was so much blood in the ring and on their faces by the end, they looked so bad ass!)”
MUSHI: “(So you enjoyed it?)”
Psycho KGB: “(Of course i did! I’ll always enjoy violence, blood, and death matches! Didn’t you enjoy it?)”
MUSHI: “(I suppose so, i was just worried one of them might get seriously hurt or die with all that blood lost though.)”
Psycho KGB: “(That would be so fucking metal though!)”
MUSHI: “(I’m sure it would be, but it’s not a good thing to happen! We can’t have anyone getting seriously injured or die in the ring! That’s no good! No good at all!)”
Psycho KGB: “(Fine, fine. Since you don’t like fun or excitement lets get onto the boring not bloody or violent match already. I hated it! Absolutely hated it!)”
MUSHI: “(Hated it?! You were losing your mind at Supremacy! Why did you hate it?)”
Psycho KGB: “(Look, i’m a simple man. I see blood and ultra violence, i love it. I see boring normal wrestling i hate it. Unless STRiFE or someone like that is in the match, i love everything they do! So if you're listening to this please don’t hurt me!)”
MUSHI: “(You’re such an awful person sometimes, you know that?)”
Psycho KGB: “(Of course i am! And you all love it!)”
MUSHI: “(We tolerate it. Besides, that match was awesome! They were very evenly matched and both won me over with their performance at Supremacy.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Well whatever, we had a good showing at Supremacy, but now we need to talk about the IJWF affiliated event, Collision Course II. Not much is known yet still, but we can announce some bits and pieces and a few matches that you can see.)”
MUSHI: “(Yeah, our friends in LAW and JET are still building up to the show and determining some matches, but we would love to announce some of our members who will take part in the historical night. Starting off with crowning the IJWF Tag Team Championships!)”
Psycho KGB: “(Mm, Representing LAW for this match is going to be The Sakaraba Sisters, Yuki and Rina. Representing J-ROK will be the Sisters of The Rose and the rep for JET is still to be determined.)”
MUSHI: “(This is going to really be one tough match huh? You have Yuki Sakaraba also from Destiny Wrestling and who’s made a few appearances in SSS in the past with her Sister, Rina Sakaraba, who are former LAW Tag Team Champions themselves. Then you have The Sisters of The Rose who have been a formidable team and set of opponents, but due to one thing or another has failed to get the straps.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Well the other teams don’t matter, the J-ROK team is going to show ‘em all what we’re about! But also we’ll have a Queen of The Ring Tournament. For LAW They will have both April Song and Jessica Hendrix rep them. JET will have Amy Slayton and Rio Kurokawa, who has recently joined us as well. But we’ll have the rookie, Kimiko Uehara and Wolf Fang Ayame take part in the tournament.)”
MUSHI: “(Yep, the future of J-ROK i’m sure will do well in that tournament. But also we have the main event of the whole event, The IJWF Championship match. Current champion, Izzy Van Doren is going to face Hannah Rockford of J-ROK, Kayla Winters of LAW and JUNKO of JET.)”
Psycho KGB: “(That’s all the matches and information we have for you for Collision Course II at the moment, but we’re sure it’ll be an amazing show full of amazing matches. Next we’d like to discus the first episode of J-ROK Jam Sessions. “Gauze -Mode of Adam-”.)”
MUSHI: “(We’re getting pretty deep in references to bands already aren’t we?)”
Psycho KGB: “(Yeah we are! This one is quiet obscure to most people, i’d say. Who ever gets it though, we’ll give you front row tickets and backstage passes to the show. We’re not rich enough to afford anything else other than that though, sorry.)”
He laughs.
MUSHI: “(It is something quiet hard without any research, but if you do know submit your answer to us on twitter or through our website! But enough of that, We’ll be in Namba Hatch in Naniwa, Osaka on February 29th. The doors open at 19:00 and the show will start at 20:00.)”
Psycho KGB: “(The first match for the event will be a preview of the match that Wolf Fang Ayame and Randy Angel will have at our March PPV. It’s The Packs Randy Angel, Miguel Diaz, and Zolothach taking on Youth of The Nations Wolf Fang Ayame, GO Hasegawa and Yuri Mochizuki. So MUSHI, what do you think of this match?)”
She thinks for a moment before giving an answer.
MUSHI: “(Well… I think The Pack is going to win this match, if i’m honest. They have much more experience on their side and much more unpredictable elements to give them the edge.)”
Psycho KGB: “(I see, well you’re wrong MUSHI-Chan, That group of young kids is going to pull one over on The Pack. Sure i hate the guy who leads them, but these other ones here have a bright future ahead of them.)”
MUSHI: “(We’ll also have the Sisters of The Rose fight Dodo-A-Gogo to determine who moves on to the championship match for the J-ROK tag team titles at our March PPV.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Before you even ask, Dodo-A-Gogo is going to win this match. They’re the more experienced team and just came off winning the Sakura Tag League not even a full month ago. They will win, i’m sure of it. So lets move onto the next match…)”
MUSHI: “(Wait, wait a minute Psycho-San! I didn’t tell you who i thought would win yet.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Who do you think will win then?)”
She waits a moment before answering.
MUSHI: “(...Dodo-A-Gogo…)”
Psycho KGB: “(See? I told you! Now lets move o-)”
MUSHI: “(I do think the Sisters are a good team and will get there one day, it’s just how can you not chose the other team with what they’ve accomplished here, yet alone elsewhere in the time we’ve seen them.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Our next match will see The Happy Few, Mayumi and Rio Kurokawa take on Bad Luck Inc. In my opinion i feel Bad Luck Inc. will get this match.)”
MUSHI: “(Why do you say that?)”
Psycho KGB: “(With a name like Bad Luck Inc. how can they possibly lose? They’re gonna be bad luck for everyone they face!)”
MUSHI: “(You really are a simple man!)”
She jokingly says.
Psycho KGB: “(Well who do you think is winning?)”
MUSHI : “(The Happy Few of course. They seem to be very familiar with each other and know each other very well. Anyways, onto the next one, The Packs Bodhi, Kat Oni and Hannah Rockford will face off against Death Startlings Fukushima Zombie, Hanako Takeuchi and Daisuke Tokugawa.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Death Startling will win. I don’t know how or why, but they have two of the four pillars of SSS on the team already. Like seriously, that team is going to be almost unbeatable! Plus… they have death in the name and that’s just so bad ass.)”
MUSHI: “(Sure, but Kat Oni and Bodhi are a much well oiled machine. Not to mention having someone who could possibly walk in with the IJWF Championship? The Pack is taking this match.)”
Psycho KGB: “(We’ll see soon enough i suppose. And our next match after this one, it’ll be PURE’s Kira Izumi and Carnivore teaming with SKS Heavyweight Champion, Naoki Ojima. They’ll be taking on Kado’s STRiFE who is the Goddess of Sakura Champion, as well as Kenjiro and Michiru Kurokawa)”
MUSHI: “(This is a curious one… you have the team Masters of The Mat, two guys who’ve known each other for a few years now and you have Naoki Ojima who’s no push over teaming up and facing one of the most dangerous and dominant women to ever step foot into an SSS ring in STRiFE along with these mysterious people who know each other very well also. I think i’ll go with the safe bet here and pick Kado to win this one.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Boring! Boring, boring, boring! PURE and Ojima will win. You got two nuts and a powerhouse on the same team. Plus Ojima has to get his win back on STRiFE from the Sakura Tag League, it all makes too much sense that way.)”
MUSHI: “(Eh… whatever! Anyways it’s about time for our special guest isn’t it?)”
He nods.
Psycho KGB: “(Now is time for our very special guest and interview segment everyone, please welcome her now…)”
“A Darkness In My Soul (Teemba Edit)” by Solid Space begins to play over the speakers as a video highlighting the Guest appears on the screen behind MUSHI and Psycho KGB. Anna Daniels comes out from the entrance way and makes her way to the empty seat in preparation for the upcoming interview.
Psycho KGB: “Welcome Daniels-San, thank you for taking some time out of your busy day and coming here tonight. The first thing i’d really like to ask you is… in you bio on the XHF Network website, it says you’re a Time Lord. Could you give us some details about that?”
Anna Daniels: “Well, we were born on a planet called Gallifrey. On Gallifrey, when you’re eight years old, you get forcibly kidnapped from your parental unit, stuffed in a holding cell for a while, and then you end up having to look into the Untempered Schism. It’s sort of a rip in space-time. The whole “when you stare into the void, the void stares into you” thing is very much true. Most either get inspired, run away, or go mad depending on what they see and if the elders deem you worthy, you get stuffed into the Academy which is a university of sorts. The ones that survive become Time Lords which in normal times means you get to watch over history.”
There’s a small pause.
Anna Daniels: “But we were not born in normal times.”
This seems like something that should be elaborated on. Yet given the silence and blank stare she gives poor Psycho afterwards, that’s not happening.
Psycho KGB: “I see, that’s very interesting. Actually that’s just sad. That’s very sad. But also kinda badass. Thank you for sharing with us. Another thing I’d like to ask you about is your thoughts on winning the Sakura Tag League Tournament last month. How did it feel winning it with your long time partner and friend, Lisa Seldon?”
Anna Daniels: “Good. It felt good and...expected, honestly. There were a lot of talented teams in that tournament but Lisa and us as Dodo-A-Gogo has the history, timing, skill, and know-how to go deep in any situation. So while we enjoyed the win, it wasn’t a shock.”
Psycho KGB: “Can you please give us your thoughts on you and Lisa being Drafted to Death Startling? And also your thoughts on your fellow stable mates?”
Anna cackles.
Anna Daniels: “It happened. Like everybody and their mother knows that Fukushima Zombie has had a...let’s be kind and say obsession with Lisa in the past. More than likely still does. Plus with Dodo-A-Gogo being a notable commodity in SSS in a short amount of time? Of course we’d be the first pick. As for the rest of the group...let’s be honest. The only one we actually know outside of Fuku is Hanako who has chatted some bullshit about us in the past. Forgiven? Maybe. Forgotten? Never. But we can push that aside. We’re professionals, mostly.
And we watched episode one of the show recently, listened to the one you call Shogun. Seemingly a nice man. Being a veteran ourselves, we cannot judge on that one way or the other. Just don’t slow us down. That goes for everybody else on our side. Just...don’t. And we’ll be fine.”
Psycho KGB: “Could you tell us your thoughts on the upcoming match at J-ROK Jam Sessions as well? The match against your fellow stablemates, The Sisters of The Rose, where both teams will fight to see who moves on to our March PPV to crown the new tag team champions.”
With the thought of the match, the Time Lord suddenly starts to grin like a really hungry shark.
Anna Daniels: “Doesn’t matter who stands across from Lisa and us. Doesn’t matter how good they are. Doesn’t matter whose stable they’re in. Ours, yours, Joe Blow’s on the street. If you’re across from us in the ring when that bell rings? We’re coming for your heads. After? We can deal with after.”
Psycho KGB: “Thank you for that answer, For our final question tonight, is there anything you’re looking forward to in the future? And is there anything you’d like to talk about or let the J-ROK fans know before we wrap things up?”
To this question, Anna’s face contorts into...well, a thinking kind of face. She “hm’s” and “ha’s” trying to find some parting shot to this interview. Her head goes in her hands. Then off her hands. Then back on. Then off. She takes a deep breath and says...
Anna Daniels: “Nah. We’re good.”
They have an awkward silence come over them as they all sort of just look at the ground or wall till Anna leaves. A few more moments of silence before they continue.
MUSHI: “(Well thank you Daniels-San we learned allot tonight. We have two more segments left for you now. Now we’ll get some of the roster members reactions to the current Jam Sessions Card.)”
Psycho KGB: “(Before we go, we’d like to tell you some important information regarding the titles in J-ROK. There will be a new title in J-ROK called the J-ROK Doom Metal Championship. With this championship, the loser of the match will be crowned it’s champion, NOT the winner. So the shorter the reign the better with this one! Also the title may change hands if in any match the current champion is the one to pin or submit an opponent. The title will stay on the current champion until they win a match.)”
MUSHI: “(This Championship will be crowned at our March PPV. As for the tag team titles, they will soon be renamed the J-ROK Power Ballad Championships.)”
Psycho KGB: “(For the merging Jumpstart and Pride of Sakura Titles, they will be merged into the J-ROK Straight Edge Championship and matches with this title will focus on pure wrestling skills. Technical and submission based matches will be prevalent in matches involving this title!)”
MUSHI: “(As for the Idols of Sakura Championship, it will now be renamed the J-ROK New Wave Championship. It will work the same as the previous iteration in SSS.)”
Psycho KGB: “(The merging Goddess of Sakura Championship and SKS Heavyweight Championships will be renamed the J-ROK Visual Kei Championship. And with that, that’s all the time we have for this episode. Thank you all again for watching J-ROK Unplugged, we hope you join us again for the next episode and for Jam Sessions February 29th!)”
They wave goodbye as the screen fades to black and the credits roll.
