There is indeed a universe in which The Avengers defeat Thanos.
...but is it this one?
Behold, Avengers Mafia. A game that's one of a kind because I've given it a unique mechanic.
What mechanic is that you say?
Now the following information is open knowledge:
- The infinity stones are randomized. (Well, all except for one, but we'll get to that.) All I'll guarantee is that scum will have at least one stone. But I'm not going to select who has what stone just because the game has it.
- Stones can be transferred to another player by night. I'm somewhat flexible with this but if I'm Player A and I give a stone to someone else, my PM should say, "I give my space stone to Player B."
- Now WHY would you give a stone to someone else? Simple. If you die, the person who killed you takes your stone. If you're lynched, the person who makes the final lynch takes your stone.
- Now remember how I said one stone ISN'T give at game start? The one stone that isn't issued to a player is the Soul Stone. Here's how the Soul Stone works: Unless you have a power that can kill during the day (ex: Day Vig/Specific Scum - and I'm not guaranteeing this role will exist), someone must VOLUNTEER to be sacrificed to another player. The player sacrificed will NOT have their role revealed upon death.
Now here are the powers of each stone:
Power Stone - Double Voter
Soul Stone - Changes the vote of a dead person for you.
Reality Stone - Removes one other player's vote to "voteless" for the day
Time Stone - Revive someone else.
Space Stone - Switch two wagons with one another OR remove yourself from being voted.
Mind Stone - Change the vote of someone to whoever you want them to vote for the day.
All infinity stones? Your faction wins. The one with all infinity stones must snap in order to activate.
(All are 1x per person per stone this game. Using an individual stone doesn't mean you can't use other stones and doesn't mean you can't snap if you collect all seven. Also being a regular human doesn't mean you can't use the power stone.)
Now I want to put disclaimers on the above: There ARE limitations, but I'm going to keep this to myself and the limitations essentially varies based on how many people sign up. the time stone is also as I forsee to be the CLOSEST thing to deviate from a general game. With that said, there will be NO graveyard to this game. Dead players will not be told any spoilers and are forbidden from discussing this with other dead players.
One more disclaimer I should mention: I did give Reck an idea of the game and an early draft because he was going to be a backup mod, but has since changed his mind. The game has been heavily modified since then. If he does try to move forward and use the earlier draft to his advantage, it will very likely not end out well for him.
Now I know what you're thinking - HOW DO I SIGN UP?
After you sign up below, you are to PM me (Board or Discord works) THREE heroes (or at least not outright villains. Villains who later turn to heroes are totally OK). If you don't get a hero, you'll get either Thanos or someone from his gang. Multiple people may pick the same hero, which is why I ask for three. If you're not scum and three isn't enough, fuck you all need to not have the same taste in heroes. But still, I'll contact you.
Standard rules are below. (I'm stealing from DT and editing based on that. Don't tell him.)
1. During the day phase, players will VOTE: PERSON if they suspect that person of being mafia. I will post vote counts periodically. It takes a majority of votes on a single person to "lynch" that person, at which point they will leave the game, I will reveal their role, and they will no longer be allowed to post in the thread. If no majority is reached by deadline no lynch will occur.
I know with this many players you may want a deadline lynch but trust me there WILL BE BLOOD. Players may also VOTE: NO LYNCH. If this receives a majority of votes then nobody will die, and the current day will end.
2. During the night phase, players with special abilities will PM me on here or Discord (Screw DT!) to use their abilities and actions. Mafia will be able to kill somebody, they will choose who is making the kill as well. I will resolve night actions and send results to players. (Roles are invented by me this game and hence may not exactly be standard) You may have hidden modifiers or abilities that I will only reveal as the situation dictates or on your death/end game. That said I WILL NOT LIE (unless you're Mongo and you're asking if I like you.) If the mod confirms something to you in PM, scum chat, or in game I am 100% honest.
3. The TOWN wins the game when they successfully eliminate all threats to the group and at least one townie is alive. The MAFIA win the game when there is no way to stop them becoming 50% of remaining players. There may or may not be third-party roles in the game that have their own private win condition (e.g., a serial killer who wants to be the last one standing, or a jester who wants to get lynched).
4. Do not quote anything from your PMs with me. If you want to claim your role, do it by paraphrasing what I sent you. As a note, you can play your character if you want, but I may make fun of you later) Do not assume a character has a power that is logical to them as non-towns have safeclaims. Anyone can be scum and roles may or may not make sense.
5. For this game, each day phase will be determined by me. With this amount of people I may give more time. Each night phase will have a deadline determined bt me. Day can end sooner as we majority lynch. Night can end sooner if everyone sends in their actions. No lynch by deadline = no lynch.
6. If you want to get my attention in the thread, please post in BOLD. Refrain from using green text, as it is the official mod color.
7. Don't edit your posts. Any editted post or rule break will get edited by me for hilarity. On second offense I will publicly warn you and edit your post. 3 strikes is a modkill This may be altered on the spot based on the severity of the breaking of the rule. (For example: If you edit to backtrack a comment you made earlier, you will treated with more scrutiny than if you just carelessly wanted to correct your grammar. I can tell too. Don't try me.)
8. Don't talk to other players about the game outside of the game thread or any additional chat threads I open to you.
9. Have fun. This rule may be broken if you want, Negative Nancy.
10. Be kind, rewind ... er Don't be a Pauly Shore (Whatever the hell that means.)
