Stating the Obvious Again

(Team Fairtex are at a gathering of young Japanese teens at a secret underground drifting event watching the races and cheering on the contestants. They enjoy the races and Phantam collects his share of the bet he made on the winning drifter.)


Phantam Fairtex:  "Dude that was a great race."

Hiro:  "You still manage to pick the winner."

Phantam Fairtex:  "What can I say I know how to pick them."

Hiro:  "So what brings you back to Tokyo."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Tong and I are touring Japan to promote our tag team match with LGTBKO or whoever they are."

(Tong Fairtex comes over to Phamtam and Hiro.)

Tong Fairtex:  "Someone just sold me some cheap Nikes."

Hiro:  That was my brother Hiyashi."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Still up to his scamming and con jobs."

Hiro:  "You better believe he is." 

Tong Fairtex:  "Obviously."

Hiro:  "So your brother tells me that you're promoting a match with LGBTKO here in Japan."

Tong Fairtex:  "Yeah we are and it's for the XHF Global Tag Team Championships."

Hiro:  "Damned the next race is beginning.  We'll talk later."

Phantam Fairtex:  "I'll score you a few tickets."

Hiro:  "Cool."

(Hiro leaves.)

Tong Fairtex:  "Score him a few tickets."

Phantam Fairtex:  "We know each other from years ago when In first came to Japan for a Judo meet.  Anyway, I met Hiro and he invited me to come to a drifting event and the rest is history.  Anyway, I owe him for introducing me to drifting."

Tong Fairtex:  "You know drifting."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Hiro taught me to drift and I loved it ever since."

Tong Fairtex:  "Is there anything you don't know how to do."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Let's see when the time comes."

Tong Fairtex:  "Stating the obvious.  Speaking about the obvious I see Bloodied Fox was doing just that and then some.  We called it when he brought up everything about me in Fired Up!  Then objects to us bring up the Free Bird Rule as if we hurt his poor little feelings."

Phantam Fairtex:  "He said his tag team partner, Ryan Young, was hurt and that means he was going to try and replace his partner with one of the other members of his group."

Tong Fairtex:  "You see Bloodied Fox we've seen everything that has been seen in wrestling and I know that anyone can invoke the Free Bird rule anytime and any place at the last minutes.  That's an obvious trick that's been pulled more times than you know and I've been in this sport longer than you and that bunch of jerks you call a group."

Phantam Fairtex:  "So obvious isn't it.  You see Bloodied Fox it goes like this sometimes things happen and you never know it's going to come until the last minute.  Yeah Bloodied Fox your partner can appear and wrestle through the match like a hero and do it all hurt and in pain.  Then again if the doctor says he can't wrestle Ryan will disobey the order to come out and be the gutsy hero determined to gut out the pain and agony of the injury."

Tong Fairtex:  "I bet LGBTKO probably knows all about that in and out of the ring."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Stating the obvious again."

Tong Fairtex:  "Now Bloodied Fox you like to mention that you beat the formidable Legion in the war games match you had in the AWF.  So what?
Is that supposed to impress us Bloodied Fox.  Is that your big underdog story that you're going to be throwing around all over the place and the big excuse you use to throw at us."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Yeah it's going to be obvious that they plan on doing that.  Imagine Legion was probably having internal problems from what I heard.  Hyperion was suffering from lack of Ambrosia or whatever he called that garbage he was putting in his body.  Michael Storm was practically uninterested and never wanted to be a part of that group in the first place so I guess you had an easy time of it didn't you."

Tong Fairtex:  "Well LGBTKO it's not going to be like that in a few weeks because Team Fairtex isn't Legion.  We're a team that's been together for a while and we accomplished more than you did in what two years in the AWF.  I mean you just won one singles title in the AWF  Bloodied Fox and then you lose it and that's something to brag about.  Hell I won the Hardkore Southern Championship but at least I didn't brag about that since I'm not one to brag about anything."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Obviously he doesn't believe in that since he's British and we all know they love to brag like the Irish.  Then again that's his partner Ryan Young a braggart.  Imagine he teamed up with Xiaolong before he faced him and defeated him and then trashes him for joining LGBTKO.  What's wrong Bloodied Fox can't take the truth.  Oh wait he thought you were a good friend but you stabbed him in the back with the old get over it excuse.  Sorry we stated the obvious with your pathetic explanation.  Then again Harry Potter will make an excuse for that too."

Tong Fairtex:  "Oh right you are brother Phantam.  Now Harry Potter you did make one thing that was obviously correct and that is titles don't count in a match of this magnitude.  So that means that your XHF Global Tag Team Championships doesn't anything as our SWAT World Tag Team Championships.  All that matters is that at the end of the match there's going to be one winner and one loser and your XHF Global Tag Team Championships will either be yours or we will be declared the new XHF Global Tag Team Champions."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Just like in drifting there's a drift king who rules the other drifter car clubs.  Just like in America there's the car clubs that rule the street racing circuit and then there's the rest of them.  You win and you rule the circuit but if you lose you're just like the rest of the car clubs until someone finally beats the champs as they say."

Tong Fairtex:  "Now you think Team Fairtex wasn't in Japan.  Well let's get back to my brother's judo meet which was an international event but I guess you think there's no such thing do you Bloodied Fox.  Me.  I was helping to promote Hardkore Japan when The Shiro Family asked me too and being the nice guy I did just that.  I even offered to wrestle for them  they turned my offer down."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Well SWAT did ask us to help promote an event in Japan which we were on the card and we accompanied Olympia who was asked to do so too.  So you tell us if we were actually in Japan Bloodied Fox and we'll tell you quite differently since you probably never were in Japan before you won those XHF Global Tag Team Championships.  Then again we know the obvious answer to that one don't we."

Tong Fairtex:  "Yeah we know what's going to be said and the obvious excuses.  Well when we meet in Jam Session we're going to see who is making excuses and who's going to have their arms raised in victory.  Let's see who's going to be the gold standard in the XHF and carry the Global Tag Team Division on their shoulders.  We'll be glad to do just that and show true excellence."

Phantam Fairtex:  "We'll be glad to do just that and more.  We're going to show everyone that Team Fairtex is 'The Team of the Future' and that's not going to be any lie or prediction.  It's going to be a reality when the match is over and we prove that we are the best."

Tong Fairtex:  "So state the obvious again and please be predictable LGBTKO, but if you mention something that's not so obvious.  We'll actually be impressed but then again we won't hold out that hope or hold our breath in doing so.  Right now let's retire and hit the gym in the morning and then
stick to our itinerary."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Might as well since we won plenty of yen for tonight."

Tong Fairtex:  "Don't spend it in one place.  Let's go.  We're out of here."

Phantam Fairtex:  "Right behind you bro."

(They leave as the scene slowly fades to black.)
