*We open up on DT driving a car. He’s on the back roads in his corvette just listening to the radio as he heads to the next town. He doesn’t usually drive from town to town but there’s been rumblings in his home town of Seattle of some new virus and DT being a near 40 year old wrestler wants to be sure he can keep doing what he does. He sits lost in thoughts until the rock music fades to a commercial. It’s a 10 second bumper!*
“Death Trap is a master class of wrestler. Support DT!”
: Heh, that’s pretty cool. Seems the MCCW fans are on my side. I need the support. Started the new year off right but then crashed and burned against some magician and for the X*Crown. I dunno maybe I don’t have it anymore. I haven’t been able to string together a good run since End of Days. Lost my #1 ranking, MCCW is leaning more heavily on guys like Carter and Justice and goddamn Yamafuckingguchi! I dunno … if it weren’t for the fans driving me onward, paying to see me and cheer me, I dunno if I could keep going. Why do I keep risking my health for this? MCCW has some crazy matches in its arsenal, it’s only sheer luck I’ve managed to avoid them.
*He shakes the thoughts away as another Godsmack song kicks on. Bulletproof. DT listens to the words and thinks on it.*
: Didn’t we use When Legends Rise as a theme song for an XHF event recently? Yeah. I can’t just quit. DT never taps out man. I can’t start on it now. Lio may have faded back to DW and Mav may have run back to AWF … but I am not about to let this get me down.
*He rubs his mouth which is still recovering with stitches internally from the lego mouthful Iconkick Mav gave him at Supremacy.*
: Fucking ow. Who the hell thought legos was a good match type for a title match … *he goes cross eyed a second before recovering* No I can’t let it get me down. I am a living legend. I am the main attraction. And if I’m not incorrect the rumble is the next event up. Zoran will definitely be there, champ or not … and so will my title. Gold rush coming up again in MCCW and the Rumble too. One last tour de force. SO I guess all I need to do is make a statement against the apprentice champ to let everyone know I’m still coming.
“Death Trap is a master class of wrestler. Support DT!”
*He drives on down the road as we fade*
February 17, 2020
*DT is in the locker room of a local gym listening to the news reports on a satellite radio. Some virus is starting to worry people. China is hit hard and it looks like Italy is also a danger zone.*
: Huh … Mongo made mention of the rumble being in the XHF European HQ on that island in Italy. Wonder if he’s sweating his formerly fat ass off about this? I dunno, Seattle is getting worrying too. Surely President Kanyon will sort all this out right? Banging a virus probably not the best method of taking it on.
“Death Trap will again strike gold in the gold rush! His fans support him!”
: Is the old fan club running again? That’s nifty. … Who the hell says nifty anymore? What is becoming of me?
*He grabs the radio and puts it in his bag and turns to see the MCCW film crew. He jumps a bit then settles down and smirks as he puts on his bowler hat*
: I send you guys video blogs for the MCCW and XHF websites and you still sneak up on me in a gym? So I bet you want to hear the dish on how I’m planning to follow up that amazing win over Leon Chant? Dude is tough and I think we all know he can take care of business. You don’t get Rob Arnold on your side to piss you off without talent. It was a tough match but as you all know, stamina and endurance are my fortés. It’s what makes me so dangerous. It only takes one time if I really get one of my patented submissions locked in to put anyone’s lights out. Chant didn’t even get to tap. Locked in the Death Trap and he passed out almost instantly. It’s a dangerous weapon and in the upcoming Gold Rush it will serve me well.
*He looks thoughtfully to the sky for a minute*
: Still, gets me thinking if I see that hoss in the rumble how do I handle it. XHF Rumble usually sports 50 or so people in it or more. I think at this point we all know I’m entering … and winning … it. But a guy like Chant, backed by Rob Arnold … that’s a guy to look out for. If he enters MCCW will have at least two strong presences. But my preferred tactic of hard strikes and submissions doesn’t exactly lend to me tossing many people out of the rumble does it? But that’s where the endurance comes in. I don’t need to be a powerhouse. I just need to survive. Pick my shots, do what I have to. I mean knocking someone out with a submission makes it easy to dump them over the ropes without a fight, if they’re small enough. And as long as the fans cheer my name and power me on I refuse to give up, refuse to die. Leon Chant is a big guy who will likely be out to eliminate as many people as he can. But me? I just need to weaken everyone, break them down, so when they come for me they don’t have it in the tank to get rid of me. We’;ll see how much power someone has after a buzzsaw kick to the head and a Breakdown, or once they’ve been choked out by the Death Trap or Seattle Stretch for a long time. They won’t be using that vaunted power so well anymore will they? Chant found that out on Voltage. And on Ignition this week … Jay Carter better watch out. I am going on a winning streak. Need my momentum going into the Gold Rush and Rumble boys. Now if you’ll excuse me…
“Death Trap will again strike gold in the gold rush! His fans support him!”
: Huh. Never get tired of that.
February 24, 2020
“REAL wrestling fans know to watch Death Trap … at ALL times. Support DT in MCCW.”
: I’m so damn tired of these things … Who bankrolled this? Why is every station playing them. … Am I being stalked? Is someone watching me right now? … Oh camera … I suppose they are then.
*He sighs and towels down the rowing machine and then his brow.*
: That’s right ladies and gents in a show of skill unlike any other, your favorite man Death Trap overcame the MCCW World Heavyweight Champion. Tough kid. Need more guys like him in the business. Going to be real fun this week when him and Jason Justice tangle. Justice and I have a storied history you know. He’s big into the MMA and I’m into the martial arts. We’ve fought four times and are all knotted at 2 apiece. Yes he took my world title from me during end of days and then I beat him to keep him from an early rematch for it by putting him under Koch and Carter in the rankings. Good to see him back in the picture though. I wouldn’t be shocked if it came down to me and Justice in the finals of the Gold Rush this year. An epic rematch for the tourney win, whether he has the belt entering the match or not. See Justice and I are on good terms, dude is a professional and loves the fans. And when two guys like us are in front of the fans we put on a clinic. I will admit his MMA throws give him a better elimination arsenal in a rumble than mine though. But then it all comes down to keeping the fight grounded. So far he has had to knock me out for a three count twice but I have made him tap out. On the ground I am the superior mat technician. And if you keep your opponents on the ground in a rumble they can’t throw you over the ropes. Imagine though … the world champion IN the rumble. The fans will turn out in force and MCCW will become the fan favorites with me and Justice both in that rumble.
*He suddenly gets very serious*
: And then there’s goddamn Eichi Yamaguchi. Dude has had my number. He’s beaten me three times and I only won once. Took his title though, gotta love that. This week is when I finally show that Eichi is mortal. And that I am the top wrestler in MCCW. I promise … I PROMISE … I … WILL … MAKE … HIM … TAP!
“Death Trap makes ME want to tap. Support DT.”
: I … wait what did that say? Hey MCCW guy do you know who is paying for these? That one wasn’t exactly PG… Uh yeah … Yamaguchi … tap … go away now.
March 9, 2020
*We open on DT sitting in his private hotel room. He’s been requesting them now due to this virus. Seattle is on lock down and It looks like the nation may soon follow with social distancing guidelines. DT however is wearing the biggest smile.*
“Death Trap makes ME want to tap. Support DT.”
: And tap the bastard did. Yamaguchi finally understands just what I bring to the table. … Wait … ignore the sexual connotations of the ad. Seriously now. Not even a prostitute he paid with his dirty money from his lackluster matches would tap that idiot. No, but Yamaguchi, tapped, to Death Trap. I am riding very high right now heading into the gold rush this week. Two matches in two nights against two very tough competitors … and I couldn’t be happier. Going into the gold rush and even the rumble, everyone just witnessed the toughest SOB in MCCW, a man known for squashing people, tap out like a little crying child. I’m not gonna lie, my mood has never been better. This proves I am back at my peak again. Where I was when I crushed it at End of Days. Where I was when I was on an undefeated run in MCCW to get me to the title. I put him away. And it doesn’t matter who else I meet. Ozymandias … I will make him tap. Andrew Daniels … he will tap. Get me into the rumble and I’ll make 50 other people tap out and cry on the floor begging to be eliminated by the Main Attraction. My stamina is legendary. Hell if I come out early it will be a bad omen for everyone else because that is every wrestler who enters after me getting locked down and having their energy drained by my unending assault. There is no give in DT, there is no tiring for DT, there is no escaping … your death trap.
March 16, 2020
*We open on DT in his personal hotel room again. He is staring at a broken TV in his room. He looks sad. He mournfully turns to a radio and slowly turns it on and braces himself … … but Metallica comes on. He lets out a sigh of relief.*
: It’s no secret that my biggest weakness in MCCW has been those out of nowhere bridging suplexes. I don’t know why but it seems like I just can’t kick out in time. I’m always still fighting I’m just slow on the draw. Daniels got me with that high German, Justice has gotten me with a bridging suplex to take my title, Yamaguchi got me with that bullet to her head move of his, and Raiden got me with that Climhazzard. It’s something to work on. But the important take away from this week is that DT doesn’t give up. Ozy and I tore the house down. Dude has some crazy powerful powerbombs. A lesser man wouldn’t have made it through. But not only did I put a loss on his record … that’s ALL THREE titles in the company have seen their holders fall at my hands. And the stamina is what did it. The endurance. I took a pounding …….. ugh phrasing *he winces* and still made Ozymandias tire out and tap out. He couldn’t keep tangling with me. And Daniels I had gassed, he just figured out the best way to stop me. Too bad for those in the rumble. See you don’t get to stop me with a bridging pin in the rumble. I am a ring veteran. I know where the ropes are and how to use them. I ain’t afraid to slide out of the ring and put people down outside as well. But still, how many men in the rumble acknowledge their weaknesses and know how to address them. I know I will be exhausted when I hold up my title. I know I will be drained. But I will be victorious. My heart and the fans will drive me to the finish line. They know this may be their last chance to see me in front of the global XHF crowd. And they won’t let me fade or falter. Do you think they will want to see someone else win when they could get more of me? The Main Attraction? No no.
*He shakes his head. He then turns to the computer where the MCCW upcoming card is*
: Nelly Angel. Man it takes me back. Nelly and I have a long history. From me ignoring his interviews to him introducing me to MCCW. Bringing me in with my first two matches. My first two real matches with my head on straight. My first foray into whether I could still do this. And hey he beat me … twice. Yep I was 0-2 in the fed and 0-1 in the gold rush last year. Of course, once I got my groove back I won out in the gold rush and beat him for the chance to fight for the title. I have no doubt I will see Nelly in the rumble. The kid has grit and heart. But Nelly is not the same as he was last year. He was on a tear until he ran into me in the tiebreaker. And since then he really hasn’t put together too many wins. You gotta wonder if he’ll go for the tag titles with his brother because let’s face it, his high flying style and recent resume don’t bode well for the big rumble match. Nelly will put on a showing and then get dumped to the floor. It’s just how he does things. I’m sorry Nelly, I like ya, but you have been awful in the ring for almost a year now. Do you really have what it takes to stand up to me in the rumble or the gold rush?
“Death Trap will strike gold in the gold rush. Support DT, he’s solid gold.”
: *cringing* GAH!
March 19, 2020
*We open up in a home gym. A radio is playing in the background with some heavy metal music. DT sits up into frame on a sit-up weight machine. He falls back out of frame. This repeats a few times as the radio goes to a commercial where a woman's voice is heard for a 10-second ad.*
"Death Trap is a master class of wrestler, support DT!"
*DT rolls off the equipment and steps into view and shuts the radio.*
: Why ... won't ... they ... stop?
*He is exasperated ... to find out why see above part of this promo...*
: It is time. One last run. One last achievement to check off the list. I've main evented NOC. I've held the world and X*Crown titles. I've been MCCW Champ. I am a living legend. But ... I've never won the rumble. To be tossed out as the final elimination ... it leaves a mark. Time for one last try. Time to make the rumble ... the main attraction. You are looking at your 2020 XHF Rumble champion ... and your future X*Crown Champion as well. Time to finish what I started.
*DT clicks submit on the application on his laptop. He smirks and the video fades.*
"Nobody rumbles like Death Trap, support DT!"
Current Day, April 2, 2020
*DT is again on the road, in his signature dark blue corvette, he is driving along the empty streets of what looks like an urban metropolis. It’s deserted. There seems to be some small semblance of a crowd at an arena in the distance but DT is driving somewhere else.*
: So the rumble is upon us. It brings a tear to my eye that Ronnie and Aleister haven’t been able to find a work around for the gold rush. We’ve seen some amazing showings so far. Except Nelly. Hopefully when the gold rush returns, and you know MCCW will be back … hopefully it won’t just have the apprentice champ – now Burke, the NA Champ Ozymandias, The World Champ – now Justice, but also the X*Crown Champion … Death Trap. So I was right in a few of my guesses. MCCW has a few faces in the rumble. Fodder for my victory. No Yamaguchi. Would’ve loved to send him tumbling to the floor. Idiot doesn’t even have enough fingers left to hold the ropes and save himself. But hey we’ll settle for the ones we’ve got.
*He turns down a side street and looks for a place to park he feels won’t get his car trashed or stolen.*
: Nelly Angel. To be honest there isn’t much to say about you dude. You haven’t been able to win in the gold rush after sneaking in with that battle royale win. You will also be entering the ring tired from the tag title match. This match is no place for a high flyer who is already gassed. Are you planning to rely on your brother to keep you in? Look I get that in rumble matches there are some strange alliances. But you can’t FULLY trust anyone. If you and I meet I may help out for old time’s sake. I mean with a guy like Leon Chant in there, you want all the help you can get to topple him before he drives the wind out of you. But first chance you leave me bro … you’re going flying. All the pent up frustration from not getting to face Galloway this week I’m giving to you and the rest of this rumble.
*He parks the car and opens the door*
: And then there’s Mistress Discipline, we are due a matchup in the gold rush as well. I admit your fondness for submissions is impressive. You can really contort that body of yours. It’s a real treat to watch, watching people submit to you, that’s fun.
"Underneath it all, Death Trap has the best athletic supporters. His fans go nuts when they see him in the ring."
*DT stops as he reaches into the car to turn off the radio*
: Wait … *looks at his crotch* Has … someone been in my locker? …. *GASP!* THE COATRACK!
*He seems to be in thought*
: Wait … the coat rack really was a woman? Was that … Discipline? But … what are you playing at? That’s … that’s … I … just …
*He slams the door closed in thought before he hears jets fly by and he shakes his head and refocuses*
: You’d be wise to remember in a rumble there are only temporary friendships Discipline. And I’m long out of school, I don’t need any lessons from a librarian. Though from your matches it looks like you could learn a thing from me about endurance. I could teach you to last … … … moving on
*He starts to walk the streets of an abandoned city.*
: So might as well finish the MCCW recap … Brad Swann … is there a bigger failure in the world? Frankly I don’t waste my time on guys like Swann. I will say that Swann sure hasn’t had any success in MCCW. So for all you haughty AXW fan boys from that dead fed … I remind you he was your European Champ, he beat Dreadvan. That passed as a top guy in AXW, who people are so fond of reminding MCCW was a “top rank fed” unlike us bums here in MCCW. I think you need to take a good hard look at the failure that is Brad Swann and how he ranked before you all fall and praise men like Draven and Caffrey … but they’re for another time. And then there’s Zeze Taborda … some new guy yet to debut in MCCW who apparently thinks he’s a legend and backs it up by hitting on women and being a misogynist in 2020 … real good start you showed there sir. Not gonna wanna be around you when the female competitors in the rumble find you and you’re your ass out.
*DT stops by a sign that tells us he is in Manchester, England.*
: Hmm … now why do you suppose I’d be here? Hmm … maybe I should ask those guys over there …
*He winks at the camera as he moves towards what looks like two men having a fight in the streets. A third man is watching them … a referee … and there in the street nearby lies a certain title belt …*
