The scene opens up in the parking lot. A familiar scene. It’s eerily reminicent of the moments from Gastro where Steve Awesome was ran down by a vehicle, tossed through a car window and left laying in a bloody mess on the hood of the vehicle. Despite it being a different city, and a different arena, the scenes are scary similar. But we do not see who we expected to see. It is not Reeshi standing in the shadows of the parking lot, it’s Platinum. He’s left sitting in the corner amongst some cargo and wooden crates. He sits on the ground with his left leg bent, the foot placed firmly on the ground as his arm is draped over it. He leans against the wall of the building for support.
Platinum :: This is what it’s come down to. This is what we’ve become. I don’t even know if this guy even has a plan anymore. His goal was achieved and while he sat steadily on his throne, his image was stripped away from him. He sat comfortably instead of fighting to keep that shit and just like that it was all gone. In the beginning I realized the dream. I saw the vision, the plan was within reason and within reach. And for a while all went well. There wasn’t anything anybody could do but sit back and watch. We were the dominant force. Hell we still are as last Friday proved. Aint nothing gonna stop us from achieving what we want to. But what is that we want anymore?
Platinum rests his head back against the wall
Platinum :: Last week wasn’t the actions of a man with a plan. It was the actions of a desperate individual. Sure it spells trouble for Steve, especially on Sunday when anything goes. But what does it mean for me? With no direction what am I to do? Does he expect me to merely follow? I can’t do that. I’m not a follower. Not anymore. I’m a team player yes, but even more so now man...I’m a leader. To follow like a fuckin shadow...man I’m so much more than that. I’m the human highlight reel, the million dolla superstar, the money maker...win or lose I make people famous. They’re always remembered because my performance is always remembered. That doesn’t sound like the work of a shadow to me.
Platinum continues to stare forward towards the camera
Platinum :: Last week had it’s purpose. Steve was sent a message and by the looks of the wreckage it’s rather well received. Seeing the look on Mandi’s face, the reaction of Jayson...that message was very well received. My task though...it was too easy. Hell Decoy did it himself. I was given Matthews to finish him and decided to simply throw him back to Decoy. My time is better served doing something more. What happened last week, my slow walk to the ring, my unmotivated approach...it was a direct result of a lack of plan. It was a direct result of there being no direction. It was an attack. An attack on a weak and feeble man. A two on one attack with brass knuckles. It’s too easy. I’m ready for something more. I’m ready to step out of the shadows.
Platinum bends his other legs, resulting in both feet flat and his knees up as he sits in the corner. He rests both arms over his legs, crossing them in the middle.
Platinum :: Whether the so called boss finds himself a direction...or I find myself one...my days of being a shadow are long over before they’ve even begun. My days of wasting away behind somebody who can’t decide what he himself really wants are through. I know what I want. I know what I’m going to achieve. If he wants to be a part of that then I welcome him with open arms. That’s my boy. We’ve proven time and time again that we can do things no two people in this business have ever done before. Together we are a force far greater than anyone has dreamed to be. Bigger than Mongo Corp ever was, bigger than the Young Guns ever tried to be let alone became...bigger than the Velez and Venom combination would ever be. Ya’ll know it, I know it and he knows it. It’s time we find our direction. It’s time we take control of our destiny once again. Because if he doesn’t plan on doing so...I’ll find one for us. My actions last week symbolize one thing, and one thing only. I have not ever been, I am not...and I refuse to ever be a follower. I refuse to stand in the shadows. Tonight...I step back into the light.
