(The sounds of Black Tide's "Warriors of Time" radiate throughout the facilities of the Eltham Leisure Centre, whilst the cameras show the location that was chosen for the first ever episode of Rapid Fire Wrestling's new weekly broadcast. That of course, being "Friday Night Shockwave". Or at least, the interior of it.
From the swimming pools, spa and sauna (or as they are known, aquatic facilities) that are usually filled with patrons during the summer and classes throughout the year, to the locker rooms.
To the main lobby, where a receptionist can be seen processing some of the tickets for tonight's event, that patrons have been handing to her as they enter, then giving them back so the patrons can find their seats.
Yes, there are fans in attendance, due to an agreement reached between the Victorian Government and RFW management. However, restrictions on seating have been implimented.
Continuing down the halls, picture frames of various Eltham Wildcat players can be seen adorning the walls, including one of current RFW Chairwoman and former Wildcats Shooting Guard, Bianca Langford. Though it's only a passing glance, as the main focus is the passage to the basketball courts.
Or well, for tonight at least, the wrestling arena. The bleachers are somewhat filled with fans, as are the seating that was brought in for tonight.
If we were to estimate on the number of fans here, we would have to say around 150 are in attendance. It may not seem like a lot, but you have to factor in the aforementioned restrictions, plus the fact that it is still a start up company.
Regardless of *who* the owner is; how popular he is within the suburb that he grew up on. Well, and people have *plenty* of other activities to partake in om a Friday night. Sporting or otherwise.
Circling around the basketball courts, we can see that a standard ring has been set-up, but the rest of the arena is no frills. Much in a similar vein to their owner.
There's a makeshift "ramp" (really just a passage way) leading to the ring from the double doors the camera entered, and a sound table set up to the right of it - as well as a commentry table set up about 2 metres behind the ring, with 2 seats behind it.
Occupying them, are Jane Symcox and Lee Washington. RFW's 2 commentators and members of Adams Enterprises.)
Jane: Welcome to the inaugural edition of Rapid Fire Wrestling Shockwave. I'm Jane Symcox and beside me is Lee Washington. My colleague and trainer at the Adams wrestling academy. How are you feeling enrering this event?
(Lee smiles, waving for the cameras.)
Lee: Thanks for the introduction, Jane. I'm excited to see what we have building here, especially with the action we have to showcase for you tonight.
(Jane nods her head.)
Jane: I agree. We have a fantastic show lined up for you all, here live on YouTube and Twitch. In our first match, which is an "Academy showcase" if I remember correctly.
(Lee interjects, having remembered what Larni said. Both during the promotional rounds and privately to him when talking about the show.)
Lee: Indeed it is. 2 of our newest graduates are getting the chance to show the world - or at least those who are watching this show, what they can do. Both men are extremely capable in the ring as well, so I'm excited to see what they can both do.
Jane: So am I honestly. Especially as I know how much you and the team have worked on ensuring these 2 are the best that they can be.
(Jane laughs, realising she had slightly gone off track with the discourse.)
Jane: Anyway, the 2 competitors are Kallum Wright and Aidan Seacrest. We also have a match with a man called Menace going one on one with the madman known as Nathan Parker, in what I'm sure will be a fantastic yet brutal encounter.
Lee: Agreed. I can see a lot of blood being spilt there, as 2 of the more --- pardon the pun here --- *menacing* competitors go toe to toe.
(Jane laughs at the cheesy pun, as she continues the run down.)
Jane: I can't disagree there. We also have a match I'm highly anticipating, as are most people, in Mick Dundee v Mick Chisholm.
Lee: Inspired by Cold Chisel, no doubt.
(Lee laughs, as Jane facepalms. Attempting to hide her embarrassment at that remark.)
Jane: Uh, no. I don't think so, at least. Anyway, thoughts on the match?
(Lee smirks, attempting to regain his focus.)
Lee: Should be a good one. Both look like they have the talent to success in this company; I wanna see if they can translate that into the ring.
Jane: I agree.
(It's then, that they are interrupted by the sound of 'Up in Flames' by Icon for Hire playing, as Larni Dawson - the esteemed GM and general consultant of Adams Enterprises, makes her way down the ramp, the crowd in attendance cheering as she does.
Looking out to the crowd, she smiles as she absorbs it all. Realising that this is really happening. That RFW is no longer merely a pipe dream, but an actual company. Trying to make their presense known and felt.)
Jane: Well, it appears the lovely Larni has a statement to make - especially as I know how much this means to her. And Scotty. And Bianca. And everyone really, to finaly see this project taking off.
Lee: Yeah. I know you were quite invested in the conversations that went on behind the scenes, so you probably know how much this means to everyone.
Jane: Yep. I remember the conversations, when this was just a hypothetical. A dream. To see it now, makes me smile.
(Jane symbolically smiles, as Larni enters the ring. Grabbing a microphone from one of the production staff as she does.)
Larni: Hello everybody and welcome to the first ever RAPID FIRE WRESTLING event! We are *all* so glad that you could make it. It truly does mean a lot to us. To Sarsha, to Bianca, to Scotty, to me. To everybody.
(Larni feels herself choking up, as she attempts to maintain her composure.)
Larni: I truly mean that. Seeing everyone here. Buying into what we are trying to offer here brings a smile to my face. Just as I know it does for Scotty and Bianca. Just as it does for Sarsha. Just as it does each and every person associated with this.
(Smiling, the crowd Cheer at Larni's words, as they begin a "You're Welcome" chant as she mouths 'Thank you'.)
Larni: Thank you. Seriously. Thank you. I just hope what we have in store for you will be enjoyable. The experience that you all crave as we send Shockwaves throughout the industry.
(Larni pauses, stopping herself from laughing at her pun.)
Larni: Pun unintentional of course.
Jane: Awwh, come on Larni. I know you well enough, to know you *fully* intended for that pun.
(Jane smirks to herself, as Larni continues on.)
Larni: Enough of my talking though. Let's get the fun and games begun. The thing you *all* came to see.
(The crowd cheers, as Up in flames plays once more and Larni leaves the ring. Knowing that tonight, Australian wrestling and Australian culture will be at the forefront of everybody's minds.)
Lee: Larni showing her appreciation, just as all of us appreciate those tuning in right now.
Jane: True. Though I wasn't expecting you to be this --- sentimental.
(Lee laughs.)
Lee: Well, the moment has brought that outta me.
Jane. Indeed. As Larni said though, it's time to get on with the opening match.

(Kallum and Aidan both stare into the other's eyes, attempting to gauge just how willing the other is to *truly* cast their friendship aside. How much they truly wanna be the one who comes out on top in this match. A match, that both have stated they consider to be an 'exam' of sorts.
Especially on a grander scale than it was during their training. Slowly extending his right hand out, Aidan cautiously offers Kallum a handshake - the caution being due to the fact that they *are* opponents; not 'friends' tonight.)
Jane: The art of respect being shown here by Aidan, but you can tell he's weary
Lee: Just as I told him in class. Be respectful, but also make sure that you don't open yourself up to getting burnt.
(Jane nods, remembering back to when Bianca reacted to her offer of a handshake with a crescent kick to the temple during their bout.)
Jane: I know that all too well. Hopefully Aidan does too.
(Unlike that bout however, Kallum actually accepts the handshake. Albeit looser than other handshakes the pair have exchanged, before releasing; stepping back. Surveying Aidan up and down. Much like Aidan does to him.)
Lee: Neither man wants to make the first move here. Yet both know that at some point, someone is gonna have to, if they wanna win.
Jane: Yeah, though I think it's more that they do know one another so well - to the point where they wanna throw winkles into their strategy.
(Almost as if those words were a cue, Aidan fires a low sweeping kick to Kallum's calves, causing him to fall back-first onto the mat. Much like one tripping over a banana peel.)
Jane: --- like that.
(Aidan then lets out soft laughter, having delivered the first salvo in this bout. That he *finally* got one-up on Kallum. Yet Kallum simply pushes himself upwards and smirks. Nodding his head in acknowlegement at Aidan's gamesmanship talents.)
Lee: Kallum almost telling Aidan he expected that there. But yes, that was a wrinkle in Aidan's strategy.
Jane: Yep. Kallum seems impressed by it too.
Lee: Nah. That's just how Kallum is. I'm sure he is impressed, but he's also aware that Aidan just played the first card.
(Kallum sidesteps to the right, almost inviting Aidan to come closer. Initiate the striking portion of his game. Yet Aidan simply smirks.
Knowing that Kallum is more than likely attempting to entrap him, so that he can showcase *his* strategy for this bout. As such, he stands back, yet slightly sidesteps to the left. So that he remains eye to eye with Kallum.
Making sure not to allow him outta his sight. He then raises his right hand out, much like the traditional offer for a test of strength. Or lock up that is essentially customary at the start of a match in the industry.)
Lee: Aidan playing it safe. He knows that he can ill-afford to enable any momentum to fall Kallum's way. Especially with how quick Kallum can take control of a bout.
Jane: Playing it safe, or playing it smart?
Lee: Both.
(Kallum shakes his head, raising his right leg and delivering a thrust kick to Aidan's arm. Telling him in no uncertain terms that he isn't interested in a lock up. Understanding that Aidan's strength would give him the decisive advantage in such a position.
Wringing his arm out, Aidan laughs - only for Kallum to duck down; grasp both of Aidan's legs and elevate him. Dropping him to the mat with a double-legged takedown, before mounting.)
Lee: There you go, Kallum.
Jane: That was a crisp takedown. I'm impressed.
(Lee smiles.)
Lee: Just like I taught him.
Jane: I'm surprised.
(Jane laughs, as Lee playfully punches her in the right arm.)
(Meanwhile, Kallum delivers 3 straight right punches to the head of Aidan, who manages to raise his arms up in order to absorb at least some of the impact, before Kallum pushes himself back up - though it's only temporary.
He comes crashing back down with a knee drop right to the centre of Aidan's chest. Causing a gasp to float from the lips of the supine Seacreast.)
Lee: That knee drop is nasty. One of the more polished moves Kallum has in his arsenal.
Jane: Lemme guess --- you taught him that too?
(Lee laughs, shaking his head.)
Lee: This time, I sadly *cannot* take the credit.
(Kallum delivers a 2nd knee drop to the same location, before grasping Aidan's left wrist; lifting him up. However, in doing so, he left himself wide open to Aidan's backfist connecting with his jaw; causing him to stumble backwards. Then be downed by the follow-up clothesline.)
Jane: Kallum shouldn't have let his guard down there. You *always* have to remain on the offensive in the ring. Always.
(Lee merely shakes his head at that exchange, whilst Jane continues.)
Jane: Even more so when your opponent knows you as much as Aidan knows him.
(Aidan then delivers 4 stomps to the chest of the supine Kallum, finishing the combination, if one can call it that, with an elbow drop to just underneath the centre of Wright's chest. Causing Kallum to slightly 'jump' upwards due to the impact as Aidan rolls off him. Aidan himself, feeling a slight throb in his chest from the earlier knee drops.
Yet he manages to push himself up, as Kallum attempts to do the same - only to be thwarted by a low angle football style kick to his chest. Pain shooting through his chest as he falls back atop the canvas.)
Lee: Here's the striking game of Aidan coming into play now.
Jane: Indeed. Crisp strikes too.
(Aidan follows that up with a 180° twisting elow drop, driving it straight into the stomach of Kallum, who feels a breath escape his lips and the pain continue pulsating throughout his body.
It's Aidan's turn now to smile, as he extends his hands out. Looking at the crowd who begin to respond with cheers.
Though at the same time, he makes sure to glance outta the corner of his eyes at Kallum. Making sure he isn't able to launch a surprise assault. Much like he had many-a-time at the academy.)
Jane: Don't make the mistakes many others do; get over confident here, Aidan.
(Lee nods in agreement, remembering his own words to Aidan.)
Lee: I doubt he will. He knows what Kallum can do on the counter.
(Right as Lee states that, Aidan pivots around, having noticed Kallum managing to work his way back to his feet. Well, at least before Aidan hooks his arm under his armpit; flips him back down to the mat with a crisp hip toss. Then a knee right to the already targetted chest, causing yet another breath, or rather, yelp to float from Kallum's lips.)
Lee: See what I meant.
(Jane simply nods. Understanding Lee's point now.)
(Now fully immersed in the match, Aidan grasps both of Kallum's wrists, hoisting him up. Only to drop him back down to the mat with a stiff knee strike to right under "The Iceman's" jawline. The slapping style of impact resonating throughout the arena as Kallum's brown eyes roll backwards and he falls onto the mat. Essentially out cold.)
Jane: Wow --- That was ome viscous knee strike there. Reminds me of our Owner's knees.
(Lee laughs.)
Lee: Aidan told me he wanted to be able to use his knees as effectively as Scotty. That right there, was just a sample.
(Aidan then simply drops down into a lateral press pin.)
Jane: This might actually be it. That was a helluva knee strike.
**1**
**
(Stunningly, at a count of 1 and 3/8, Kallum is able to lift his right shoulder off the match. Even the crowd cannot help but respectfully applaud the internal strength of Wright. Most thinking he was done following that knee.)
Jane: Kallum still has life? How?
(Lee is unsurprised, but nods.)
Lee: He's a fighter. Always has been. He isn't gonna go down easily.
(Aidan however, isn't frustrated. Or even surprised that his friend kicked out. In fact, he *expected* him to. Smirking, he stands as Kallum slowly rises. Aidan stepping back to enable him to before glancing across at him. Noticing Kallum's slightly wobbly legs and the pain within each of his breaths.
Despite that, Aidan doesn't instantly go back on the attack.
No.
He realises that even in pain, Kallum can - and will - strike at any moment. He's been bitten by that many times during their training.
As such, he needs to sit back and analyse the situation. Plot out his next point of attack; ensure he makes *no* mistakes in executing said plan. Even if that means allowing Kallum recovery time.)
Jane: Another impassè of sorts, but you know both men are cooking something up.
Lee: They're trying to make sure they have everything nailed down. Though they wouldn't be in this position if they didn't have the qualities to succeed.
Jane: Agreed.
(Glancing carefully at Kallum, Aidan attempts to initiate another lock up, only for Kallum to stun him by slightly side stepping to the right; delivering a sharp kick into the stomach, followed by a snap DDT.
Laying both men out atop the canvas. Aidan in a better state than Kallum, who despite delivering the DDT - is unable to capitalise on the circumstance instantly.
Even though he is able to slowly make his way to his feet gingerly, it is after Aidan had already stood up. As such, he is unable to prevent Aidan from grasping his right wrist; Irish whip hom towards the ropes. Waiting to belly-to-belly him upon return.)
Jane: Aidan right back on top here.
(Yet Kallum is aware of this. It's the exact same approach Aidan had taken during training when they did Irish whip drills. He knew that the belly-to-belly is the intent, therefore he simply jumps upwards and connects with a dropkick.
Ensuring that Aidan realises that he is still able to get one-up. That he isn't gonna let Seacreast regain control of the bout that easily.)
Lee: You were saying? Kallum's *not* the sort of person to relinquish the fight or momentum just like that.
Jane: Touché.
(This time, Kallum is able to kip-up, feeling a sense of adrenline flowing through his body. The sort that you experience during a 'second wind'; allowing him to push through the prior pain barrier. Awaiting Aidan to rise to a kneeling position, he wraps his arms around the head of him, driving 3 knees into the chest. Then falling backwards with the kneeling snap DDT, before rolling Aidan's body over and covering.)
Lee: Just like that, it's now Kallum on top.
**1**
(Right after the ref counts to 1, Aidan is able to get his shoulder up. Causing Kallum to smirk at him as he rises to his feet. Still feeling the pain from the earlier assault but managing to block it out as he prepares to continue his assault on Aidan.)
Jane: Kallum has to remember that he cannot be too aggressive here. Aggression is good, but you need to be controlled in it at the same time.
Lee: Don't worry. If there's anything about Kallum people should know, it's that he is controlled between the ropes. He knows that he cannot try to do too much.
Jane: For his sake, I hope you're right on this, Lee.
(Lee slightly smirks.)
Lee: I *know* I'm right.
(Just as Aidan is able to push himself up to a vertical base, Kallum leaps into the air - looking for a jumping Complete shot, only to instead be wrapped up in a bearhug style of hold and tossed almost directly into the turnbuckle thanks to a release belly-to-belly suplex. The impact causing Kallum to lay prone on the mat. Pain and tightness consuming his body as Aidan attempts to calibrate his next approach. His next strike.)
(Jane shakes her head, glancing at Lee.)
Jane: I thought you said he had it in control? Looks like Aidan just read him again.
(Aidan rises, before making his way over to Kallum --- only to be grapped by the tights and rolled up into a small package.)
Lee: Well, what was that, Jane?
Jane: Nice playing possum, I have to admit. Reminds me of myself.
Lee: Or Tyler Hall.
**1**
,**2**
**
(At a count of 2 and 1/8, Aidan is able to roll his body through enough in order to raise his shoulder up; break the count. Much to the amusement of his opponent, as the crowd appears surprised. Not so much because that isn't it - but rather that Kallum thought it could have been.)
Jane: That was a closer call than it should have been ---
(As soon as she finishes the sentance, she is interrupted by Aidan standing up and thrust kicking Kallum in the stomach.)
Lee: Wait for it ---
(It is then, that Aidan connects with the 'Creastfallen' Implant DDT, spiking Kallums head into the mat, as he rolls him over.)
Lee: Goodnight Kallum. Looks like Aidan will extinguish his demons here tonight.
Jane: That DDT is nasty. I should know - I've had it delivered to me many times. Can't see Kallum kicking out. Pin him, Aidan.
(Pin him is exactly what Aidan does.)

DING DING DING
(Aidan rises, as 'Drive' plays through the speakers once more; Dylan raises his hand.)
Kelsey: Here is your winner --- AIDAN SEACREAST!!!

The action in the arena was set to continue following the opening match, but not before we were taken backstage. Or in the case of the leisure centre, the edge of the main swimming pool . As the scene developed, we watch as the camera focuses in on a young man in his mid 20's with dark hair and the stubble to match.
[Marcus Smith.]
The second generation grappler out of Toronto, ON had been working in the United Kingdom for PURE-1 Wrestling for the majority of 2020. Marcus has made it a habit to seek out various wrestling disciplines from all over the world, with the mind to learn as much as possible from those who've been able to perfect them. As the opportunities in the UK started to fade due to the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, it was expected that Marcus would journey back to Ontario, Canada with the intent on resuming his career in Northern Pro Wrestling. However, Marcus was made aware of a 'huge opportunity' in Victoria, Australia which he was advised that he would be foolish to pass up.
MS: "This is my first time on this continent, and I'm absolutely blown away by it's beauty. I've made it a point to become acclimated with my surroundings so that I'll be able to put forth my best efforts when I'm called to compete."
His tone is upbeat, and joyful. After a quick breath, Marcus switched gears and focused more on what he wanted to accomplish in Rapid Fire Wrestling.
MS: "I've been searching for the toughest competition all over the world from the very moment I decided to pursue a career in professional wrestling. I'm here in Rapid Fire Wrestling to cease opportunities, and to glean from those who have come before me. My will to improve and to succeed will fuel my desires for success."
[Pause.]
MS: "As the lay of the land begins to develop, you can rest assured that I'll be right in the middle of the action. I wish the wrestlers on tonight's show the best of luck, and want to congratulate them on their inclusion of this monumental event."
His final words are spoken with an air of confidence, while being completely authentic.
MS: "Well done."
[With that, the camera pans away from Marcus before fading out. Or well, back to the basketball courts/primary arena and Jane & Lee.]

Jane: I like how eager Marcus is. It's always good to see somebody come in and want to produce immedately. Well, as long as he actually does so.
Lee: I agree. Just like Aidan and Kallum did in the opener. I fogot to ask, what did you think of the 2?
(Jane smiles, impressed. Well, she had been expecting them to perform, but they definitely piqued her interest. Something not many people were capable of doing when she was in the ring.)
Jane: I must admit, I was impressed by them. Especially Aidan. I can see him thriving in this industry if he polishes his game up.
(Lee nods his head, a slight prideful smile creeping across his face.)
Lee: I honestly think Kallum has more 'legs', but Aidan was my little project at the academy. So, I agree with you on him.
(Jane shoots Lee a curious look.)
Jane: How so? I mean, Kallum has the tools but Aidan has the more sustainable style. I feel like Kallum's game is almost too focused on his speed. Kinda like Chelsea Holland's. He needs to add more finese.
Lee: I get you. Though Kallum has finese. I think Aidan's knowlege of him and awareness is what separated them.
Jane: I can agree with that.
(It is then, that the 2 are interrupted by the sound of RFW interviewer and long-time Adams Enterprises Employee Hayley Roberts's voice being heard, as she appears on the screen. Sitting on a leather cushoned chair outside of the sauna. The figure of Sarsha sitting next to her. Also atop a leather cushoned chair.)
Jane: Well, hello there Hayley and Sarsha.
(Hayley smiles, as the two of them wave.)
Hayley: Hey Jane. Sorry for the interruption, but I'm here with our lovely chairwoman Sarsha, who *insisted* she take this time to talk to everyone.
(Hayley pauses, smiling as Sarsha playfully laughs. Knowing how much Hayley let to play stuff like this up.)
Hayley: Like, really. She told me that she wouldn't pay for my manicure on Monday if she didn't get this time.
(Sarsha defensively interjects herself into the conversation.)
Sarsha: I didn't say *that*.
(She laughs, as does Jane at the commentary table.)
Hayley: You did though. Don't lie to these people.
Sarsha: I'm not.
(Sarsha then clears her throat, remembering that she *did* have an actual reason for making this appearance. One that wasn't just sharing light-hearted banter with Hayley. As entertaining as it is for the pair and the fans alike.)
Sarsha: Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked from *why* I wanted this time; why I wanted Hayley here with me.
(A lightbulb then flickers off in Hayley's head.)
Jane: Knowing Sarsha, this is gonna be good. Or at least, something interesting.
Lee: I'd hope so. She *is* the chairwoman after all. So, interesting should be the mininum expectation.
(Jane just shoots Lee a soft glare. Almost a non-verbal way of telling him to 'shut up'.)
(Sarsha on the other hand, just lets the shimmering make up on her curled lips tell the story. She's not gonna let Lee's cynicism dictate her words. Nor should she.)
Sarsha: Anyway. Before I begin though, I hope everyone's been enjoying the show so far. I know I have been - almost makes me wanna step back into the ring!
(The crowd cheer, as Sarsha shakes her head.)
Sarsha: Sadly, I promised Scotty and Bianca that I wouldn't. This isn't about me. This is about the talent. The ones finding their way. The ones putting on the show for you all. Oh and it's about you guys too.
Hayley: Ain't that the truth. You know I pleaded with you to let me join in, but I'm more than happy back here.
(Sarsha looks at Hayley, nodding. Remembering her appeals to give her a shot in the ring, even though she - like Sarsha - had stated she wasn't going to. After all, Adams enterprises is merely funding RFW. Not turning it into their own vanity project.)
Sarsha: I know. You sent me like 20 texts --- but once again, I should probably get to the point.
Hayley: Sorry.
(Sarsha slightly laughs.)
Sarsha: No, no. It's fine, Hayley. Anyway, I'm here to talk about our first ever pay-per-view, Borderlands. Or rather, the main event of Borderlands.
(The crowd pops for the PPV mention, as Sarsha smirks. It's the standard reaction, especially with what she is about to inform them.)
Sarsha: You see, we are planning on putting all 3 of our championships on the line at the event, but the Australian title match won't just be a standard affair.
(Her inflection changes to more of a high-octave.)
Sarsha: Oh, no. It's gonna be a *special* match. A match that has only been participated in once before.
(Hayley feels a knot in her stomach. Knowing the exact match Sarsha is talking about.)
Sarsha: You remember it, right Hayley?
(Hayley simply nods.)
Sarsha: Good. Because yes, it's *that* match. A 'Whispering Demise' match. A natch that let's just say - *will* live up to expectations.
(Jane's mouth goes agape, as Hayley looks as if she has seen a ghost. Or remembered the trauma the match put her through. Either one applies here. Meanwhile, the crowd is attempring to process all this.)
Jane: Oh my god. I remember Hayley's body and brutality in that match. Though it makes sense.
Lee: Gotta make the champ earn their strap. I love this. Bring on the violence. I wanna see what this match can offer.
(Jane slightly scoffs, though she disguises it with gentle laughter.)
Jane: Your ignorance is showing, but I, like you, am interested to see just how the competitors are able to engage within the realm of the match.
Sarsha: As for the participants - you'll find out in 2 weeks, when we will have 2 qualfying matches. The winners, shall be the ones with the honour of competing in this match up.
(Sarsha exhales, pursing her lips.)
Sarsha: Good luck.
(The camera flicks off at that point, returning to the commentary desk.)
Jane: Good luck indeed. Anyway, it's onto the highly anticipated match between Menace and Nathan Parker. 2 heavy hitters and equally volitile personalities. Inside and outside the ring.

Lee: Hard hitting and intimidating presenses. Sounds like the sort of match I'm about to love. A draw-it-out, drag-then-down brawl.
Jane: Kind of like you were in the ring.
(Lee smiles. He knows Jane meant it as a jab, but it's also an *exact* method of describing how he was between the ropes. How he has been as a trainer.)
Lee: Exactly. You have to be if you wanna make it in this industry.
Jane: I disagree, but there is definitely a certain factor of intrigue in a match like this. Especially when you know both men simply wanna hurt the other. Winning or losing doesn't matter to them.
(Lee interjects.)
Lee: Just as I said. This industry at its core.
(The 2 are diverted from their bickering by the sounds of Who's The Man by the Killers blaring outta the PA system and Kim Parish walking out to the ramp way, glancing around at those who have attended tonight's proceedings. A slight expression of disdain across her face.)
Jane: She kind of intimidates me, honestly. Just look at her - how well she matches the aura of her client.
Lee: I agree, though I'm surprised you're intimidated. Especially considering your own presense between those ropes.
(Jane playfully pouts at Lee's words.)
Jane: I wasn't *that* bad ---
(Jane remembers back to her posture and mannerisms in the ring.)
Jane: I mean, I tried, but this is just --- menacing. Pun not intended.
(Either way, she does the two hand point to the entrance and Menace makes his way out through the double door, as the hair stands up on Jane's arms and neck and Kelsey raises the microphone to her mouth.)
Kelsey: The following match is Scheduled for ONE FALL!
(Just like in the opening match, the crowd chants "One Fall" once Kelsey does. Like clockwork.)
Kelsey: Introducing First --- From Parts Unknown --- Weighing in at three-hundred and sixty-eight pounts --- He is MENACE!!!
Jane: I would *not* wanna have to confront this man in a dark alleyway. That much I know.
Lee: I say bring it on.
Jane: That's because you're a masichist.
(Lee chuckles.)
Lee: Nah. But he is definitely the type of person I'd love to spar with. Or have the trainees at the gym spar against. Give them a taste of what a *true* monster is like.
(Jane interjects, realising what it'd mean for the talents who would have to stare Menace down.)
Jane: Tough love --- I can get behind it. I mean, I wouldn't wanna participate, but I can get behind it.
Lee: Aww, you're no fun.
(Lee makes a mockingly sad face.)
Jane: I actually care about my safety, more like it.
(Meanwhile, he storms past Kim and makes his way down to the ring, the masked monster power walking with purpose and intent. Stepping over the top rope and power walking to his corner without any fuss once he enters the ring.)
Lee: I love his business like appearance. No frills, just pain. He just wants to show everyone why he is rightfully called Menace.
Jane: And just what Nathan Parker must confront if he is to win. A man who might be as crazy and unhinged as he is.
(45 by Shinedown begins playing outta the PA system as Nathan Parker walks through the double doors, undaunted by the man standing in the ring.)
Jane: Speak of the devil. Nathan holds no fear heading into this match.
Lee: Nor should he. Fear is the number 1 sign of weakness in this industry.
(Jane nods. She knows that all too well.)
Lee: Especially when you're already giving up as many measurables as he is.
Jane: Uh-huh.
( He looks around at the mixed reaction from the crowd, seemingly full of angst and prepared for the war that is to come, as Kelsey raises the mic to her mouth once more.)
Kelsey: And his opponent --- From Sydney --- weighing in at two-hundred and twenty pounds --- He is NATHAN PARKER!!!
Lee: Lemme guess, you don't wanna step into the ring with Nathan either?
Jane: Correct.
(Lee snickers slightly.)
Lee: You know what I'm about to say.
(Jane simply nods.)
(Sighing deeply, Nathan - much like Menace did, simply walks down to the ring. Rolling in under the bottom rope and walking to his corner, before being beckoned to the centre of the ring by Referee Adam Greyson. His eyes never leaving Menace; Menace's eyes never leaving him.)
DING DING DING.
(As soon as the bell rings, the 2 men trade straight right hands. Neither interested in even thinking about the traditional collar and tie lock up. Or any test of strength. They just wanna brawl. Punch by Punch. Each man recoiling upon impact from the other.)
Lee: And. Here. We. Go. Neither man interested in wasting any more time than necessary.
Jane: They've been waiting for this. We heard the verbal sparring earlier this week; now, time for the physical sparring.
(After about 6 punches each, Menace breakz the chain with a standing body avalanche, sending Parker down to the mat, then leaping into the air. Sandwitching the Sydneysider's chest between his leg and tbe mat. Thanks to a violent leg drop.
Yet he remains stoic. Focused strictly on the task at hand. On making sure Parker learns his place within the RFW infrastructure.)
Lee: Oof. I've taken a leg drop like thst before. It'll carve your chest in.
(Jane merely shudders. Like Lee, she too has taken a crushing leg drop. One with enough force to cause internal bleeding. Or at least, suck the wind from you lime a vaccuum.)
Lee: Flashbacks?
(Jane nods. Not wanting to relive them, but also feeling her own chest tighten.)
Lee: I'll take the silence as a yes.
(Pushing himself upwards, Menace glares down at the flattened Nathan, scoffing. In a manner that reveals the earlier blows delivered by Natty by Nature barely rattled him; he is disappointed with how easily Nathan has keeled over. Grabbing his right arm, Menace hoists him off the mat.
Even if only to send him crashing back down with ring rattling impact following a headbutt. Yet not releasing the arm. No. He has *more* in store for Nathan. More in the way of pain and suffering, that is.)
Jane: Menace treating Parker like a ragdoll here.
Lee: Scary thing is --- I think Nathan actually *likes* this.
(Sure enough, there is a smile of satisfaction across The Sydneysider's face. It's been there for the entirety of Menace's punishment. He's actually *enjoying* the pain he is suffering at the hands of the monster known as Menace.
For his part, Menace is showing no emotion and simply lifts Parker off the mat by his arm, delivering a second headbutt, then a short-arm clothesline to lay him out across the canvas supine, releasing the arm as he does.)
Jane: Menace tenderising Parker like he's chicken being placed in the oven.
(Lee shoots her a look of surprise.)
Lee: You've got kitchen analogies?
(Jane smirks.)
Jane: Of course! Didn't you know?
Lee: I mean, I knew you liked cooking --- but didn't expect that analogy.
Jane: There's a lot of things you don't expect from me though.
Lee: Touché.
(Menace leaps into the air with a body splash, looking to crash atop Nathan --- but slamming hard into the canvas when Nathan is able to roll himself upwards just enough to avoid impact. Though he still feels the full sensation of pain running through him as he takes a few staggered breaths due to the earlier onslaught.)
Jane: Nathan with the nice evasion there, though can he gather some momentum?
Lee: I'd assume he knows he has to, Jane. For even as a masochist, you still need to return serve at some point.
Jane: I'm aware of that, *Lee*.
(Lee looks at Jane, amused by her tone.)
(Before he can respond however, Nathan has made his way to his feet; delievered a dropkick to the right hand side of the monsterous Menace's temple, causing him to drop back down to the canvas as Nathan rises to his feet. A knee drop to the back of the skull follows, as maniacal laughter floats from Natty by Nature's lips.)
Jane: That laughter frightens *me*. Imagine how children must be feeling watching that.
Lee: I --- I don't think Children are watching us, Jane.
(Jane blushes, softly laughing.)
Jane: They could be. I know I watched wrestling as a kid. You never know which children might be with their parents with us blaring from their PCs.
(Lee simply shakes his head. She's right, but he doubts parents would have this on in view of their children. At least, not the typical adult, anyway.)
Lee: Doubt it, but okay.
(Nathan glances over to the turnbuckle, then back at Menace. Then at the turnbuckle again. Then at Menace once more. His mind pondering just how he can ensure that the big man stays down. Or at the very least, how he can maintain the momentum pendulum swinging in his favour.)
Jane: Surely he won't ---.
Lee: Ooo, Do it. Do it.
(Jane playfully punches Lee.)
Jane: Professionalism, Lee.
(A small pocket of the crowd, whose minds had been in sync with Lee's and noticing Nathan's eyes, start to chant "Do it" in unision. Knowing that taking to the air can end up in one of two ways.
The first being that he connects and we get a portrait of chaos. The second being his crashes and burns; opens up a window for Menace to regain control of the match.
That's if his indecision hasn't enabled that already, of course. Judging by Menace slowly rising to his feet whilst Nathan is scaling the ropes, it may have done so.)
Jane: I really hope Nathan has eyes in the back of his head. Though that should be implied, as he *is* a wrestler.
Lee: No shit he does. I don't think he ever cares though. He wants to give the fans --- and me, the daredevil we deserve.
Jane: Well, there's that too. I guess.
(Nathan scales the turnbuckle as Menace reaches his feet. Only to be stunned as Nathan flies off with a back elbow smash, stunning the big man. But not taking him off his feet. Neither does the follow-up clothesline to his chest.
In fact, all it serves to do is attain a very small smirk from the right hand side of the mastodon from part unknown's mouth. As well as a "is that all?" floating into the air from his lips.)
Jane: Menace is one helluva tank. Kinda like the tank form of an all terrain SUV.
Lee: Are you surprised though? Man reminds me of the type of person you'd see in a horror film. Or of Alex Hickman. Neither man would stay down.
Jane: Or of Brittney Balstiara, in my case.
(Nathan delivers a sharp kick to Menace's stomach, yet it doesn't even faze the big man. However, the back spinning heel kick that follows does.
Causing a loud sound - almost enough to generate a mini earthquake when he crashes atop the mat.
Nathan, aware that he may not have enough time to waste, scrambles over for the cover.)
Jane: I like this. Go for the cover and cause Menace to excert energy, if nothing else.
**1**
(Menace forcibly throws the much lighter Parker off him as soon as Adam's hand slaps the mat for the first count.)
Lee: Well, can you say you're surprised?
(Jane merely shakes her head.)
(Yet Nathan is the one able to make his way to his feet first; charges towards the now seated Menace. Nailing him with a sharp soccer kick to the small of his back, enough to *finally* elicit a grimice from his foe.
Wrapping his arm under the jawline of the monster, Nathan *attempts* to lock in a sleeper hold. It's only an attempt as Menace is able to push himself up and pull Nathan onto his shoulder, driving him down to the mat with a powerslam; drain *all* of the energy from his body.
Causing both men to lay on the mat, breathing heavily. The match taking its toll on the both of them.)
Jane: That power by Menace. How much has he taken outta himself though, is what I wanna know.
Lee: It appears that as much as he has denied it, the match. Nathan's onslaught *has* begun to take its toll on him.
Jane: Kinda like you in the gym. Yes, I've seen the tapes.
(Lee pretends to not have heard that, whilst Jane shoots him a sneaky smile..Almost as if to say 'gotcha'.)
(In the ring, both men remain grounded. Pain shooting up and down their bodies as Adam checks up on them. Ensuring that they are *both* still in a medical state where they can compete. He then begins the famed "double KO" count.)
**1**
(Neither man moves even a muscle, as Kim Parish makes her way up the ramp, to make sure Menace is able to stand.)
**2**
(Still no stirring from either party.)
Jane: We have reached what I like to call an impassé.
**3**
(Slight stirring, as Menace slowly rises to all 4s, though Nathan is still prone atop the mat.)
**4**
(Menace is able to slowly push himself upwards, though he staggers a tad whilst Kim reaches the ringside area. It's enough to prevent Adam from continuing the count, however.)
Lee: I hope Kim realises just who Nathan is. I'd hate for her to be caught in the crossfire here.
Jane: Awwh, so you *do* have a heart?
(Lee lets a soft scoff leave his lips.)
Jane: No answer? Okay.
(In the ring, Menace connects with the body splash that he had attempted earlier, leading to another pinning attempt.)
**1**
Jane: This *might* just be it.
Lee: I mean, it's like trying to push a 4 wheel drive off somebody, after all.
**2**
**3*
Jane: Is it over?
(A zoom in reveals that about 1/32nd of a second before Adam's hand hit the mat for the 3rd time, Nathan was able to weakly. No, *very* weakly, lift his shoulder off the mat. Just enough to notice if you're at the angle Adam was when counting; not enough if you weren't.)
Jane: WOW! Somehow, someway, he kicked out.
Lee: I won't lie, Parker has grit. Unwise, but has grit nonetheless.
Jane: Heart *does* go a long way in this industry, after all.
(Menace simply glares at Adam, whilst Kim virtually pulls her hair out. Both were convinced it was 3. Heck, judging by the gasps in the crowd - they thought it was the 3 count as well. Yet Menace simply stands up, pulling Nathan up with him by the left arm ---.)
Jane: Well, I guess that's smart. Creates space if nothing else.
Lee: Gotta do what ya gotta do.
(What they were talking about, is Nathan's thumb to the eye of Menace. Causing the big man to release his grip while water begins to fill his eyes. Thus buying Nathan some time. Well, enough to stumble towards the ropes; scale them. Intending for a crossbody block as Menace finally regains his bearings ---)
Lee: Do or die. Just how it should be.
(---Only to be caught as he leaps into Menace's chest; draped over the shoulder once more and Dropped with the Soutter Driver.)
Jane: OH MY GOD! What awareness from Menace there. I think he's got it now.
Lee: Can we say "outta nowhere"? Because that was outta nowhere.
(Indeed, Menace simply holds on for the pin.)
**1**
**2**
**3**
DING DING DING
Kelsey: The winner of this match --- MENACE!!!
(Who's the man plays, as Kim rolls into the ring, joining her charge and helping him back to a vertical base.)
Match Length: 13:26 Match Winner: Menace

Lee: That match was the perfect demostration of power and intimidation, mixed into one.
Jane: I agree. Both men showed that they weren't afraid to get down and dirty, just like two all-terrain vechiles going head to head.
Lee: A 'hoss fight' as some people, including myself like to call it.
Jane: Anyway, We still have one more match on the docket for tonight - our main event.
(As soon as Jane finishes saying 'main event', the screen flashes, showing us Mick Chisholm on the floor in the locker room. Supine and slightly slurring, as if he had been blindsided from behind. Standing over him, is Marcus Smith. The man, who made himself known to RFW earlier enough during his vignette pool side.)
Jane: Marcus looking to make a statement here, it seems. This is *one* way a person can go about doing so.
Lee: Orrr, he could be an innocent bystander. Can't rule that out ever.
(Jane ponders that slightly, as it could very well be the case.)
Jane: It *could* be, but judging by that smile - I don't think it *is* the case here.
(Indeed, Marcus has a shit-eating grin upon his face, as he stares down at the fallen Chisholm. Just as, out of the corner of the frame, Mick Dundee can be seen. Finishing up his routine for the bout. That's *if* the bout is still occurring, of course.)
Lee: Well, Dundee seems to think it is.
(Kneeling down, Marcus stares into the eyes of Chisholm. Making sure he knows just who laid him out.)
Marcus: Is this all you have? I guess making my name will be easier than I thought.
(It is then, that the setting changes to Larni's office, where she watches the scene unfold. A scowl across her face.)
Jane: Uh-oh. Larni looks upset. I can't blame her though. Her main event for tonight is robbed.
Lee: Robbed? I'm sure Mick can still compete. There's been a lot worse than this in the past.
(Larni turns to face the camera, clearing her throat.)
Larni: It appears that Marcus Smith wants to make a name for himself. I don't blame him - this industry is one where you *do* need to stand out; step up.
Jane: She's right there.
(Larni smirks, an idea manifesting inside of her head.)
Larni: And I'm more than happy to provide the opportunity to you. Next week, you *will* be going one on one with Mick Chisholm. I'm sure when he's alert, he'd love the opportunity to get one back.
(Larni laughs, remember the times she herself was attacked in a wrestling context.)
Larni: I'll even spice it up for you. Next week, that match will be No DQ. An eye for an eye, after all.
Lee: Good job Larni. Turning up the heat.
Jane: She's good at laying down rules and frameworks.
(The crowd cheer that announcement, knowing carnage shall be in store. That Mick will be able to attain payback on Marcus for this attack.)
Larni: Good luck.
(Larni smiles.)
Larni: As for tonight - I wanna say once again. Thank you everybody for coming. I hope you all see just what RFW is capable of.
(With that, the setting returns to ringside.)
Jane: Well, this was a very fun first show. We truly do hope y'all enjoyed it and come back next week.
Lee: Indeed. It actually makes being here with Jane fun.
(Jane mockingly takes offence to that remark, before laughing.)
Jane: Hey! Anyway, from all of us here, goid night and sweet dreams. We will see you all next week.
(And with that, the screen fades into darkness. The RFW logo the last image anyone sees.)
(End).
