(Just like last week, the strains of "Warriors of time" can be heard resonating throughout the arena, but unlike last week - we are *not* at the Eltham Leisure Centre. Or even in Eltham at all, for that matter. Instead, we are being taken for a journey through the halls of the Diamond Valley Sports & Fitness Centre, in Greensborough.
From the gym and fitness club section, through the lobby - where fans can be seen waiting to be allowed into the show.
Well, at least some fans, that is. If one was to have a guess, we would say there are about 80 fans lined up. Or, somewhere in that range at least.
Here due to a combination of restrictions starting to be eased as the coronavirus pandemic is managed and the agreement RFW and the Victorian Government have in place.
Though if we count the fans that are already inside of the arena, there are approxmately 250 fans in attendance. An increase from last week and a sign that RFW is growing in reputation. Especially with how well last week was recieved.
Either way, the tour through the arena continues as it scans around at some of the pictures adorning the walls - most of them being of local icons that the area has produced over the years in a variety of careers.
From Sports to Journalism and even the arts.
After that, the cameras make their way through the entrance and reveal the set up for tonight's event - which, much like it was last week, is basically just a PA system set up near the entrance plus a miniture 'rampway' leading to the ring.
The ring itself is set up at what would usually be centre court during basketball season, with the fans sitting in the bleachers; Lee and Jane situated at the commentary table behind the ring, both placing their bottles of water on the table in front of them as the camera pans towards them.)
Jane: Hello everybody and Welcome to another episode of RFW Shockwave! Tonight, we have an awesome show on the cards for you, with Marcus Smith and Mick Chisholm taking on one another in a No-DQ match, as well as Menace going one on one with Aidan Seacreast ---.
(As soon as Jane finishes saying the word 'Seacreast', Lee interjects.)
Lee: Hopefully that *isn't* Aidan's funeral.
Jane: Hopefully not. I don't think we have the money to afford funeral expenses and/or a potential lawsuit.
(Lee laughs, nodding. Even though Scotty could *easily* finance both, he has explained to them that RFW's finances are separate from his own, or even Adams Enterprises fiances; anything pertaining to the company will *solely* be coming outta RFW's own accounts.)
Jane: We also have a corker of a main event, where Mick Dundee will *finally* get to make his debut, against his good friend Nathan Parker, who put on an amazing showcase against Menace last week.
Lee: Well --- that's as long as there *isn't* another attack. Which, I'm assuming based off Larni's words last night, there won't be.
(Jane shakes her head.)
Jane: No. As Larni said, what happened last week - even if she can understand the rationale behind it, *isn't* something we wanna see in the company. After all, we're here to compete. Not to try and maim people before they can do so.
(Jane laughs, though she turns slightly stoic when she remembers her own history. Luckily, most don't know about *that* side of her.)
Lee: Yeah. I mean, I like violence and making statements, but that's what the ring is for. Or, supposed to be for anyway. At least tonight, we get the chance to see the 2 go one on one.
Jane: Yep.
(It's then, that the cameras pan around, showing the fans in attendence. Anticipating the display that this little up and coming promotion has in store for them tonight.)
Jane: Anyway, all signals are *go* for the opening match, which is that aforementioned No-DQ encounter.
