[The doors to the press room open and in walks the newest signing of NPW, a plain clothed Lee Stevens. Flashes pop from the cameras as Stevens takes a seat. He unscrews a water bottle and takes a sip, acknowledging the first question.]
Reporter: Lee, there's been quite a stir about your contract status in XHF? Can you tell us your current status with FWA?
[Stevens smirks and shakes his head.]
Stevens: Yeah, just a small misunderstanding that I hope we can clear up. Was never my intention to leave FWA. Literally I sat on the side lines for like a month as guys jumped from JROK to FWA and vice versa. Apparently I didn't read the fine print though. I'm only allowed to have one contract and can moonlight elsewhere. Honestly, I don't care what they want to call it. When I returned I made it clear that I was going to work the Canadian Indies. I wasn't planning on sitting still. And I still don't. If FWA doesn't want to make money with Lee Stevens, I'll get my match with Paul Wilson otherwise. I mean, come on guys... if I can be in a fed that puts me in an alternate universe, or allow dice to determine my fate, or become a demi-god................ I think we can let Lee Stevens wrestle for two places.
[Lee rolls his eyes and takes another sip.]
Reporter: Tonight we saw you talking to Gus Arnold. And the old bastard actually smiled! What's your relationship with Gus?
[Lee Smiles.]
Stevens: Gus is one of the best trainers in the business. That old man stretched me and taught me many lessons in the ring. I credit my work ethic to the lessons he taught me. I love that I have the opportunity now to give back.
[The reporters call out and Stevens points to one.]
Reporter: You have been added to the 10 Man Battle Royal on the 26th. What does that mean to you?
Stevens: Well like Gus said, it gives me a chance to make an immediate impact in NPW. I'm looking forward to testing myself with a whole new crop of competitors. You see I thrive on competition. I don't rest on my laurels. I am always striving for improvement. I am always looking to be faster, stronger and to strike harder. I want to continuously improve. And that's why I am setting out on my journey across Canada. We have some of the BEST talent in the world right here in our own back yard. I once was touted as the BEST IN THE WORLD, and I am looking to get back to that point. And I will do it by taking on the best the sport has to offer. Next Friday, I'm not coming to be apart of a battle royal. I am coming to win! Thank you.
[Reporters continue to ask questions as Lee gives a little wave and walks off.]
