The stream begins from AWF headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. Observing social distancing, there are no press in the room, but that doesn't stop Jackson Steele from walking out looking all snazzy for the cameras and press watching remotely. He clears his throat and begins.
Steele: Thank you to everyone watching from home. It's much more exciting to do these announcements in person, but we live in strange times.
He takes a sip of water before continuing.
Steele: After the success of Beach Blast, many fans and AWF competitors want to know what's next for AWF. Since it's that time of year, we've chosen to once again bring back one of our most popular events.
The screen shifts to a splash page with a logo on it:
Steele: That's right -- for the fourth year in a row, AWF will be hosting Fired Up! This time, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada! And with it comes the return of the Wildfire Tournament. For those of you who don't know how it works, the idea is simple.
The screen cuts back to Steele.
Steele: This tournament is open to any competitor, whether you're a member of AWF or not. The rules are easy to remember. At the start of the event, we will hold a lottery to determine randomized tag teams. Those teams will be seeded and face off in a tag team tournament -- including the Prestige Champion. The team that wins the tournament will then immediately face off in a one on one contest, with the winner walking away with the Prestige Championship. This could be anybody's shot to grab glory. All you have to do... is show up.
He grins at the camera.
Steele: This will be a hell of a test for the champion. Over the next several Prestige shows, we'll be giving you a taste of what the Fired Up tournament could look like with Fired Up Preview Matches, where we will be sticking random pairings together to see how they perform. This could give you a competitive edge over your opponents and let you scout out a potential ally or enemy's in-ring skills before the big event on September 19th.
Steele pauses for a moment.
Steele: And all of that will begin with our next show, Prestige 56! In addition to that, due to the Network's rules around the XHF Phoenix Title needing to be defended every 30 days, Neo James Carner will be putting his title on the line in a rematch against the previous champion, Aiden Merric. We're also giving two people who impressed us on the last show a chance to earn glory in a #1 Contender's Match for that same title. And keep an eye open for Prestige 57... because due to fan demand, we'll be hosting an open free-for-all battle royale where the winner will get the distinct advantage of selecting their partner for Fired Up instead of it being random! Last year, this advantage lead to the creation of LGBTKO when Ryan Young chose Seth Dillinger. Who will make an impact this year?
Steele closes his portfolio on his podium.
Steele: That is all for now. We will have additional details coming soon. Get ready to experience the most chaotic, exciting show of the year!
