So I've been kicking around the idea of starting an efed for a while and I think I might have come to something of a breakthrough last night. I don't know if this is the right forum to post this in, but I was curious what some of the veterans thought about it.
So despite my long tenure in e-fedding, I've only really ever been part of roleplay and strat-based federations. I've been trying to think of a novel way to judge participation, and I think I hit on a winner.
The basic method would be a combination of a score card and a pitch that was provided by each player. Points would be awarded for character development (i.e. Twitter, Instagram or in-universe equivalents) and Roleplays and the like. The other major component would be a "pitch meeting" at the beginning of a show cycle, which gives the player an active chance to participate in the booking of their character for a show cycle. Rather than judging based on RPs or ability to strategize or whatever, the player who provided the most compelling pitch would have an advantage.
It probably needs a bit more tweaking before it's ready for primetime, but I'd love any feedback you might have.

That is an intriguing concept. Would need a bit more people too get off the ground but could be hella fun

Oooh, it's not a bad idea, could gain traction if people got behind it. Probably would need more creative/experienced bros as members

Yeah it would definitely be a lot to try and do on my own. At this point it's just sorta rolling ideas around and figuring out the bones. When I figure out what everything looks like, that's when I start looking for help.

its pretty much how most feds roll the way i read it (or should roll)
participate in your development and story arc and participate in more than rps and this helps and counts as we go
making specifics for points and scoring (per rp or tweet) leaves open for the loser of a match to get disgruntled, making it this this and this counts along the way and we use it to book forwards and all counts in the long run, well, that's how we do it.

I'm not saying you're giving someone a score for an RP, the 'points' would only be for participation. Your best pitch gets an edge in a rivalry built over a series of shows, but at the end of the cycle, participation would measure heavily into how booking actually played out. If you have someone who blows you away with their pitch but then they don;t RP over however many weeks, then they're obviously not going to win over someone who gives you a mediocre pitch but puts in the effort for character development. If someone wants to be salty because of that, then they're probably not going to be someone you want in your federation.
