We follow a reporter from Maritime Wrestling Digest with a mic in his hand. He seems to have located the current Canadian Heritage Champion; Gordon Carlson. At first, Gordon is perturbed that he's unable to hop into his vehicle and leave the venue. After some coaxing, Gordon decides to share a few words with the eager member of the wrestling media.
Reporter: "Gordon, your challenge to Eric Dane is the talk of my inner circle - the question is, Why?
Carlson: "After my run at Night of Champions and coming oh so close to becoming the X*Crown Champion, I feel as though I've earned my spot as the locker room leader in Northern Pro Wrestling. There is a certain Hall of Fame wrestler who currently walks around with the perceived top championship in the company. Perceived being the key word. You see, I would argue that the championship that I'm carrying around with me holds as much or more weight as the Canadian Commonwealth Championship. I believe I'm a worthy challenger, and I want to test myself against one of the Legends of this sport."
Reporter: "I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but Gus Arnold seemed very surprised that Eric Dane decided to 'no-show' his biggest event of the summer. In fact, Gus was attempting to get ahold of Dane, to no avail."
Carlson: "Hmm..."
After a moment to think this new information through, Gordon offers some insight.
Carlson: "Well, that's sort of Dane's M.O now isn't it. The guy does what he wants, when he wants. I'll leave the logistics to Gus, because it's his company. However, my challenge stands, and I don't plan on backing away from it. I feel as though the fans of Northern Pro Wrestling deserve to know who the top wrestler in the company is, and our match should bring that conclusion to light."
Reporter: "Talk to me a little about "Timeless" and your reaction to seeing him interrupt your challenge to Dane."
Carlson: "I know as well as anybody that Gus Arnold has ambitions of expanding, and 'Timeless' is a big signing for Northern Pro. I don't take kindly to him using my open challenge to catapult himself into the limelight with the intention of stealing my thunder. I have nothing against him at the moment - but if he keeps sticking his nose in my business, he and I are going to be on a collision course that ends up with him begging for mercy on the mat."
The reporter looks to edge in another question, but Gordon interrupts him.
Carlson: "Now, if you'll excuse me..."
Gordon loads his duffel bag into the back of his white pickup truck, before driving off out of sight.
