Character Backstory: When WWX closed its doors, the self-proclaimed 'Rex Master' had been in a dark place. He'd turned his back on everything he believed in, making it his mission to bring the place that made him a household name down after being fed up with watching as the old-guard headed by Tommy Lipton in the ring and James Ranger in upper management seemingly worked in cahoots to keep him down. His anger and bitterness over this had led him down a path of destruction that lasted to the final days of the federation.
During his earlier days as part of the WWX, Rex had had his contract restructured. In his new iron clad contract that he'd signed in early 2016, Rex was able to accept other booking dates with other companies so long as he could meet his contractual obligations with WWX. This eventually led to Rex signing a less lucrative contract with a company called EAW-Elite Answers Wrestling. In EAW, Rex saw his star rise to greater heights year after year, arguably reaching his peak in the company when was inducted into the company's Hall of Fame.
Now with his name reknowned globally, Rex had been summoned back to his old stomping grounds of WWX, by none other than his former partner and rival Tommy Lipton. Rex has once again redone his contract to compete in both promotions once again, and from the start has claimed he is back because he quote unquote "unfinished business". Despite his checkered past, and how everything ended, Rex has once again been received positively by fans. Now with his newfound support from the WWX, Rex is looking to finally do things his way again and eventually go out on his terms.
