Welcome and thank you for taking a look into Next Level Wrestling. In here there’s a brief introduction as to how this Fed came to be, how it will be run, and generally some FAQ points that should tell you exactly what we’re about.
At NLW, our primary aim is to be a safe space for all characters and all ideas. One of the best things about playing this game is the creativity and that should be allowed to flow as much as possible. To do this we have decided to run as a micro-fed with low word caps. This allows new characters and ideas to be experimented on and for the handler not be daunted by regular word caps into the thousands. This also levels the playing field against those who may be more experienced in the game, as a lower word count will mean an a bigger focus on quality.
Now, NLW is actually a hybrid fed between roleplay and angle. So whilst I did mention low limits above, we want to further encourage character development through stories you may wish to run with other handlers. Therefore if you and a second handler wish to run a series of matches that are angled to create a PPV match that has that extra edge, then we’ll work with you to make it happen. We will ask however that if you’re not roleplaying for a match that you add a segment into the show to further your angle.
Whilst this is done to help you guys run without dedicating so much time, when NLW was being created earlier this year we needed to create a model that helps the admins as well. We discussed and concluded that part of the reason why Feds fail is not always because of the numbers, it’s because the demand on the fed is more than the admins are able to give. Therefore we came up with the premise of doing summarised results for our regular shows. Full results will be done for the PPV’s.
So whether you’re new to the scene and want a place to start and develop, or if you’ve got a new character idea you want to put to the test, or maybe you just don’t have the time to do thousands of words a week any more, hopefully you’ll agree that NLW is for you.
So now you’re all introduced, let’s go into the FAQ’s which should give you the full run down of what we do here:
Q: How often do you run shows?
A: Shows are bi-weekly, and will be on a Saturday
Q: What are the show deadlines?
A: RP’s will be due by the Thursday at 19:00 EST / 00:00 GMT (Or BST, all three admins are British and work on silly British time I’m afraid). Segments for the show have a further 24 hours. All deadlines will be stated on each card for clarity.
Q: What are the RP Limits?
A: Following a consultation (which if you are did and are reading this – thank you so much), we have set the following limits: TV: 1x 750 words (normal match) 1x 1000 words (main event or title match). PPV: 2 x 750 words (normal match), 2 x 1000 words (main event or title match). As with the deadlines, all limits will be clearly stated on the card.
Q: Do RP limits change for tag teams or multi man matches?
A: Generally it will be 1 roleplay per character, so a tag match would have two rp’s each team. However if it’s felt that this is too much, handlers are welcome to discuss with the admin team about lowering the bar.
Q: How many characters can I have?
A: As per XHF Network rules you may have two active wrestlers here, they are not allowed to be in any other Network fed. Obviously if you have support characters and managers on top of this, that’s very much up to you.
Q: Is this singles only?
A: No, tag teams are as encouraged as singles and there is a tag application available. We will support any tag teams that wish to go for the XHF Tag Team Titles, but there are no immediate plans on having our own tag division at this time.
Q: How will communications be sent out?
A: Big announcements will be posted on this section of the board. We also have a Twitter account: HERE if you prefer to keep up to date that way. We are also part of the XHF Network Discord: HERE, and have our own sub-board on there where most of the day to day reminders, discussions etc will be. If you don’t want to be apart of that, that’s totally cool, we can always have discussions with you via the inbox on this board.
Q: Who are the Admin team?
A: Myself, Rob Arnold, Maverick, and Eli Dresden/Kris. All three of us were part of the AXW admin team and between us we have a number of years both roleplaying and staffing.
If there’s anything else in this piece you wish to ask, feel free to message us via the board, or via Discord.
